Oh, that’s not disappointing at all! Actually, it feels pretty on-brand for something called royal icing to have a connection to royalty. Makes me feel fancy just talking about it. Like, “I’m eating cookies fit for a queen,” you know?

Also, you totally sold me on the warming cookie idea—I mean a cookie that feels like a cuddle? Who wouldn't want that? Cuddles are the best!

No coconut - noted! Yes, they're wonderful. If you warm them up for a few seconds in the microwwave, or have them with a warm tea it feels like a nice little cuddle.

The answer might disappoint you, as I know it disappointed me a wee bit when I found out - it's a special icing that was predominantly used for the cakes of the royal family back when good ol' Queen Victoria was still sitting on the throne.

Yeah, I think that's what we're going to end up doing. Also gonna try to get my booth set up next to a friend's so if need be, they can watch over it a bit, too. And the cat idea sounds cute, I know of at least one person who would probably go nuts for a cat dressed up in a top hat, so I think that's a good idea. I mean, who doesn't like an adorably dapper kitty?

You could always take turns or have her come help out in shifts, that way she doesn't miss out on some fun! I'm sure you'll manage! Even if we have to put a manqeuin in the back somewhere so people think you're still there.

It certainly is for the cafe! Well, more so the bookstore aspect of it, but the cafe as well. I hadn't thought of doing a theme, but I'm all for an opportunity to dress up! I wonder if I could borrow my mums cat and dress him up.......

"Brody!"

He bolted up right in the darkness of the hotel room, breathing as ragged now as it had been in his dream. 𝑁𝑜, 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑎 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚. Brody King gently reminded himself that the white cloth, the inhalation of dirty and rocks into struggling lungs, all of it had been real. His rebirth at the hands of the House of Black had come after he dug himself from that shallow grave and almost every night since, Brody had found himself dreaming of that day. That meant that his partner had to deal with nights like tonight, when those memories were too much to contain.

"Del…I…"

He looked over to see the diminutive woman he loved, the strawberry-blonde singer who soothed his soul with every note. There was a terrified look in her electric blue eyes, her gentle hand resting on his heavily tattooed shoulder. "Are…are you alright? You…you were clawing at the air and whimpering and…I never saw them get this bad before…"

Brody put one of his larger hands over hers in the darkness, illuminated only by the rays of silvery moonlight peeking past the tan curtains. "I'm fine, princess. I'm fine…"

"You didn't seem fine," Delilah protested as she tossed the heavy blanket from her side of the bed, bare feet padding across the soft, carpeted floor. Once she was in the bathroom, Brody could hear the running of the tap. He brought his knees up to his chest, face buried between them as he took a few deep, calming breaths.

Ever since he had met Delilah in 2018 at a small Progress Wrestling show in Chicago, Delilah James had been the bright shining light in his darkness. She had started caring for him in a way few others did. Time hadn't been right for them, not at first. Brody hadn't been looking for someone to love and Delilah had been seeing independent wrestler Joey Janella. They simply weren't right for each other, no matter how much they cared about one another.

But time couldn't stop the stubbornness of Brody King.

"Here," Delilah smiled gently as she came back into the room, handing Brody the small, Styrofoam cup of water, "Drink it slow."

Brody's large hand circled around hers as he accepted the cup, sipping the tepid liquid inside before setting it down on the nightstand, "Thanks, Del. I…"

"Shush," she whispered gently, one neatly manicured hand resting against his thickly bearded cheek, "You sit with me through my nightmares. What's the difference?"

There was a silence as he pressed his cheek against her soft hand, Brody just taking in her calming presence. "You saved me, you know?"

"Brody…"

"No, no let me…" he let out a deep breath, "that night when Malakai…you were my guiding force. You were the light that led me through my darkness, Delilah James. You always have been."

FAVOURITE MUSIC OF 2024

I'm late doing these but I still wanted to post them.

I thought 2024 was quite a strong year for music. I was glad to see Chappell Roan go from strength to strength. There was also new albums from a few of my favourites - Taylor Swift, Nick Cave, Wendy James, Daphne Guinness and Delilah Bon. Plus I discovered new artists like Ethel Cain and Scene Queen and Sam Morton (the name for Samantha Morton's musical project).

The best compilation was undoubtedly Jon Savage's The Secret Public to tie with his book of the same name (subtitled How the LGBTQ+ Aesthetic Shaped Pop Culture 1955 - 1979).

And the best reissue was of course the Shampoo boxset and I am very disappointed not to see it make any of the end of year lists. You haven't just let me down, you've let yourselves down :)

But by far my favourite album of 2024 was Traumatic Liveliehood by Jazmin Bean and I'm really excited to see what they do next in their career.

Thank you! While it may not be a similar instance, I do have things that are important to me in terms of owning my own place. Such as, will I be able to add onto it so that my cats can have a catio and be able to safely go outside. I know simply having a fenced in area would work for my pups, but cats can most definitely jump over a fence. As of right now, the place I'm looking to get a tour of does have a room that will be good for them all to just have their own space at least. But good points on the heater and electrical and all that too! I didn't even think of that, my first concern was the furbabies!

That's brilliant! Well done you. I had a laundry list of questions when I bought my place, but that's because it was meant to be my business and my home. Though, i can say, what I did ask was when the heater had last been replaced, if the electrical was up to date, and I was adamant about getting an inspection. You never know what's going on behind the walls!

Icebreaker headcanons pt 12

(what type of clothes they tend to wear)

Jaysen is a skinny jean defender for life it's his staple in every single damn outfit he wears. Also wears a bunch of jewelry that he's carefully curated over the years from thrift shops. Has dreams making crust pants one day or a battle Jacket he isn't sure yet. Only wears black unless it's to sleep

Barbies fits are very solid, very simple. Usually like a graphic tee with some nice jeans and a hoodie. Nova likes to choose his outfits for fun she makes sure they match even when they aren't in the same place! Most of his clothes are greys, and green, except for his jeans he chooses those very carefully

Dorian is a mix of Jaysen and barbie. He doesn't wear skinny jeans but he does usually wear all black. Though every once and a while he'll wear a different color, and it's red. He's got a sick collection of shoes though. Also lots of cool bracelets.

Mickey wears loose clothing, he honestly dresses like a skater. Goes more for the texture of clothing than the look. Usually just sticks with his graphic tees that he steals from Jaysen, and his pants may or may not need a belt. Nova used to make him match outfits with her so every once and a while he would look very different. He can wear tight pants every once and a while he just doesn't really like to

Delilah wears a lot of loose and flowy clothes like dresses, and those pants that you would see in Mamma Mia, she likes for the colors to match her hair. Every once and a while though she wears all black for fun. She really likes hairpins and cool charm bracelets.

Jade is amazing at clothes, she likes bell bottom jeans, and beautiful flowy tops. She likes to make Jewelry like necklaces. she's also got amazing earrings. She tends to go for themes on her outfits and is able to execute them very well! She doesn't really have a preference for colors just what she thinks is good at the time!

Bailey's style is always changing, sometimes she dresses like Mickey other days she looks like Delilah. She loves funky earrings. She's also got a lot of those t-shirts with just funny sayings like the "I pee in public pools ones.". She usually wears casual clothing but every once and a while does just switches it up for fun!

Nova low-key dresses like a basic white girl but she ramps it up and adds to it with a lot of her own inspirations and always looks good. She loves rings. Loves to layer her clothes and just experiment! Also like jade the color really just depends on what she's feeling that day!

Ooh, top 50 favorites? That's a lot of favorites! Not that I'm shaming you, I promise. I feel like it's so hard to choose a favorite sometimes, I probably have about that many that I love a lot too. My good friend Gabe has been helping me with suggestions, so far we've got some watermelon cupcakes and cookies. The cookies are only shaped and decorated like watermelons. Then we narrowed down the fruits for the lemonade refreshers to strawberry, peach, mango, raspberry, and blackberry. Plus the last four fruits will also be added to the iced tea refreshers. I tell you what, it's a lotta work keeping up with those big chains, but that's what keeps the business flowing in.

Maggie Smith was brilliant in Sister Act! It's got to be one of my top 50 favourite films. S'Mores sounds amazing, and i no doubt would have a cup or give of those. As for the fruit... Have you come up with anything yet? If not, what about Peach? Oh, or perhaps a Nectarine? You could do a goodie with it, and perhaps a refreshing drink as well!
