𝙼𝚒𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚛, 𝙼𝚒𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚛, 𝙾𝚗 𝙼𝚢 𝙼𝚒𝚗𝚍: 𝙰 𝚁𝚊𝚠 𝙳𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝙸𝚗𝚝𝚘 𝙱𝚘𝚍𝚢 𝙸𝚖𝚊𝚐𝚎

Chapter 1:
The First Time You Realized Your Body Was Being Watched
It starts young. For some, it’s the aunt who pinches your cheeks and tells you not to eat too many laddoos or you'll get “healthy.” For others, it’s the media showing you that "hot" means size zero, thigh gaps, flawless skin, abs, and hip bones that look like weapons. It doesn’t matter if you’re in India or Iceland—the world’s obsession with the “ideal body” finds you.
Suddenly, you’re no longer just living in your body. You’re managing it. Editing it. Apologizing for it. Dressing it to make it look “smaller,” “bigger,” “curvier,” “slimmer.”
You’re performing.
And no one handed you a script, but you knew what your role was supposed to be:
Be beautiful. But make it effortless. And definitely don’t complain.
Chapter 2:
The Inner Critic is Loud, Rude, and Always Online
Body image isn’t just what you see in the mirror—it’s the perception you’ve built over years, influenced by family, media, comparison, and let’s be honest, trauma.
It’s not always rational. It doesn’t care if you’re healthy. It doesn’t care if people compliment you. Body image is what you tell yourself when no one is watching.
It’s the whisper that says, “You’d be prettier if…”
It’s the scroll through social media that ends in, “Why don’t I look like that?”
It’s the photo you untag, the angle you avoid, the clothes you won’t wear even though you love them.
And it’s exhausting.
Because every single day, you’re trying to negotiate with a part of your brain that was never meant to be your enemy.
Chapter 3:
The Body Isn’t the Problem. Society’s Lens Is.
Let’s be real: standards change faster than fashion trends. What was “in” in 2005 is now demonized. Remember heroin chic? Now we want “slim thick.” The Kardashians switched from promoting waist trainers to doing pilates in Paris.
The goalposts of beauty are constantly shifting—and we’re made to feel like we are the problem for not keeping up.
Capitalism thrives on your insecurity.
So does the fitness industry, the fashion world, even some doctors.
But your body is not a trend. It’s not an aesthetic. It’s the vessel that carries you through life. It breathes, creates, heals, fights, holds trauma, holds joy, and holds memories. It’s sacred. It’s yours.
Chapter 4:
Healing Isn’t Linear (And Sometimes It’s a Damn Rollercoaster)
Let’s not pretend this is easy. You can do mirror affirmations, unfollow every model on Instagram, and still have days where you feel like garbage. That’s okay. Healing body image is like decluttering a house you’ve lived in for decades. You’re bound to find some dust.
Here’s what helps, even when you don’t believe it yet:
• Speak to yourself like you would to a friend.
If you wouldn’t call your bestie a “fat failure,” don’t say it to your damn self.
• Stop waiting to live your life.
Wear the outfit. Take the picture. Swim in the pool. Dance at the wedding. You don’t need to “earn” joy.
• Curate your feed.
If someone’s posts make you feel like trash, mute them. Replace with body-neutral, diverse, or joyful creators.
• Get back into your body.
Dance, stretch, walk, do yoga, breathe. Not to burn calories—but to connect with this beautiful, bizarre, resilient machine that is your body.
• Therapy.
Honestly, if you can access it, therapy is gold. Especially if you deal with disordered eating or body dysmorphia. You don’t have to carry this alone.
Chapter 5:
Body Positivity vs. Body Neutrality vs. Body Liberation
Let’s decode these real quick:
Body Positivity says: Love your body no matter what.
But some days, that feels fake, right?
Body Neutrality says: You don’t have to love it, just respect it.
It’s more chill, more sustainable.
Body Liberation says: Your worth has NOTHING to do with how your body looks. Let’s dismantle the whole system.
It’s the revolutionary big sister of the movement.
Pick whatever feels right. You don’t have to force joy every day. Some days survival is the victory.
Chapter 6:
Your Body Isn’t Ruined—It’s Lived In
Stretch marks? Life happened.
Cellulite? Literally 90% of women have it.
Acne, scars, bloating, belly rolls? Baby, those are human features, not flaws.
Your body doesn’t need to be smaller, smoother, tighter, or “corrected” to be beautiful. You’re not a before-and-after story. You’re a full damn novel.
And newsflash: you’re already enough.
Right now.
Without the glow-up. Without the transformation reel. Without the filter.
Chapter 7:
The Delulu Ending (That’s Lowkey Realistic Too)
Imagine this:
You wake up, look in the mirror, and smile—not because you look perfect, but because you look like you. You put on clothes that feel like freedom. You take photos and don’t overthink the angles. You eat what you want, move how you want, love who you want, and stop giving a damn what people think of your body. You realize the world lied to you—but now you’re reclaiming the truth.
That kind of peace? It’s not delusional.
It’s the most rebellious thing you can do.
Final Word from Someone Who’s Also Working On Herself:
Body image isn’t a destination. It’s a relationship. Some days you fight, some days you flirt, some days you hold hands and strut through life like the icons you are.
Just don’t ghost yourself in the process.
You’re not a project.
You’re a f**king masterpiece. In progress. With glitter.

Modern AU headcanon: Jean’s Bear Hat
It all started when Jean’s mom retired and finally found herself with more time on her hands. After beginning a much needed declutter of her house, she found stacks and stacks of pictures documenting her darling boy’s life and decided to join a local scrapbooking circle.
While working on a page dedicated to Jean’s first snow day, an older woman with kind eyes asked about Jean’s bear hat.
“Oh, the hat? I actually made it for him when he was a baby.” She smiles, looking at the picture and remembering how he loved the hat so much he insisted on wearing it past the winter, into the spring, and only relinquishing it in the summer when it became too hot.
“I wish I had one of those this upcoming week, it’s supposed to be freezing,” the old woman commented while bundling herself in layers preparing to face the cold.
This may have been just a passing comment to some, but to Jean’s mom this sparked another idea. She went to the craft store the next day and bought some new crochet hooks and yarn, filling her free time with even more crafting.
“I’m so excited for you to open your gift!” She beamed, handing a gift bag overflowing with tissue paper to her son and pulling him in for a big hug.
“Thanks mom, you didn’t have to get me anything.”
“Of course I had to, you’re my favorite child.”
“I’m your only child.” Jean smiled, rustling through the tissue paper until he reaches the gift at the bottom of the bag.
His eyebrows quirk inwards as he feels the knit texture and pulls out his new bear hat.
“Do you like it? I made it for you, just like the one you had when you were a baby!” She says, her eyes lighting up.
“I… uh…” Jean nods his head. “I love it, thanks mom.” He pulls her in for a hug and gives her a kiss on the cheek, knowing that his friends are going to tease him relentlessly for wearing his new hat when they meet up later.
“Nice hat, Jean-Bear,” Eren snickers as Jean walks over to meet his friends, everyone chuckling at his newest accessory.
“Shut up, Jeager. I have to wear it, my mom just gave it to me.”
“My mom just gave it to me,” Connie says mockingly, joining in on poking fun at his friend.
Sasha pulls out her phone and snaps a picture with the flash going off right in Jean’s face.
“Cut it out guys. I know it’s dumb, but she would be really upset if I didn’t wear it so I have to. Just pretend I’m not wearing it.”
“That’s not as easy as you think it is,” points out Armin, earning him a high five from Eren.
A gust of wind rips through the air, causing everyone to shiver. “See?” Jean points out, “I’m the only one who’s still warm, so suck it.”
They go through the rest of the day, Jean pretending to be annoyed and purely wearing the hat as an obligation. Secretly though, he loved how special it was that his mom took the time to recreate his bear hat.
He also relished in having bragging rights the next week when all of his friends got sick from the weather but he remained perfectly healthy.
Thank you for reading! This is a little illustration turned headcanon. It was floating around in my mind with the weather being freezing these past few weeks.
Have a drawing suggestion? Leave an ask!

So my mom and her niece (my aunt passed away a long time ago) inherited her parents' house and the downstairs store that they used to run which is now rented out to someone else for cheap and split among them two. My mom lives with her partner who is a grumpy older man, they are basically roommates, he moved in with her cause he had to sell his house due to debt, not really because they wanted to move in together, by that point their relationship as lovers had already ended. The house is big and expensive to maintain both in terms of costs and energy (takes hours to clean and my mom has 4 cats so she's constantly vacuuming) so they decided to sell it and split the money between my mom and my cousin to then buy a more manageable place. The house is still full of all of my grandparents' stuff so it's going to be a big deal to declutter and move out. Her partner/friend/roomate wants to move to a different, bigger city cause the town where they live is an ugly depressing place and it would be really good for her to be in a more stimulating place, what they like to do most is go to exhibitions and concerts and they always take place in this other city so it would be perfect. At first she was into the idea but now she's saying that she just wants to downsize and remain in her little ugly town because she doesn't want to be away from my brother (it would be barely 2 hours away, easy car or train ride) PLUS she hasn't really looked at rentals at all but is convinced that it will be impossible for my 20 year old brother who earns more than all of us combined (albeit under the table) to find an apartment for himself so she wants to buy him a house too. We're talking about one of the poorest areas of Italy, no one is legally employed and landlords are used to it. The money she will be left with once the house is sold won't be enough to buy two houses, and my brother doesn't even want that. If my mom doesn't start living her own life she will keep cleaning after my brother who's never washed a dish in his life, I know for a fact that if she remains in the same town she'll be regularly going to his house to clean up after him and that's just sad. She says "but that IS my life" which I do understand to a degree cause my life is similar...... you can take the woman out of Italy but can't take the Italian out of the woman but that's a topic for another time. Anyway is it insensitive to think that my mom should just buy herself a house in a better city, keep some money for emergencies and let my brother find himself a rental like every other 20 year old? That house will go to us eventually anyway, she is not married to her partner and he has no family. She feels selfish for not sorting my brother out but my brother will be sorted out anyway thanks to our boomer grandparents. I reminded her that at my brother's age I was already selling pussy and she was like "but that's different"..... she won't even give him a chance to grow up. I think it's absurd to go through the trouble of selling just to move down the street. I do understand that she'd rather be close to my brother than her grumpy roommate who moved in with her out of convenience (he's an okay man but he has so much unresolved trauma) but then don't sell. I guess I just had to type that out. Thanks for listening

Solar Eclipse: Leaving Old Wounds Behind!

Leaving old ways of being behind.
We are having a Solar Eclipse New Moon in Aries on the 8th of April, packing power and punch, power to the people, with power, literally returning to the people. Which people? Those who are fed up with the oppressive power structures that are. How will it be returned? We take it back, with both hands!
We are the main characters.
The Eclipse is at 19 degrees Aries and according to degree theory, the 19th degree is associated with Libra, so the theme around this eclipse is You and I and We. I see this eclipse energy as a collective power struggle and not singular, meaning you are not alone in your feelings and experiences. We are now active participants on the world stage, rather than passive observers.
This new moon energy feels like an activation, a recharge of your batteries. It feels like you have been living life at 75%. However, with the letting go of the past and healing over the last two years, it now feels like you are living at 90% battery.
This is in part due to the collective healing work we have been doing. The generational wounds of colonialism, and capitalism have played a significant role. Also, those white-washing spiritual wellness capitalists... you get it, sound ridiculous. This spiritual decluttering is why we feel more energized. It is time for the hoarders to declutter their space, clean out the old. New health secrets are being revealed, and a breakthrough for medical science is occurring as we have collectively decided to rid certain diseases from our reality.
Those emotional triggers don't affect us the way they used to, huh?
It takes a village.
For the signs - this is collective healing and transmutation. Western spirituality has focused on the self, self-actualization, and personal manifestation goals, and never on the collective WE. We have been allowed to be selfish and self-serving, using ancient tools from ethnic minorities. No more. What do we collectively want? What do you want to manifest for the collective good?
CREATE YOUR FUTURE
Aries, Happy New Moon Eclipse! What better way to start the new world than with the brave first out-the-gate sign. You are first, taking the unbeaten path, and you will manifest for us the truth and the way by being brave and going first towards the unknown. This new moon is the new beginning that you have been waiting for, for a while. Walk in faith and not sight; the opportunities will arise when you are expectant of solutions to come.
Taurus, Happy New Moon Eclipse! The energy is dancing around in your 12th house, where you sleep, your cave of hibernation. The curtains are normally drawn, but it's wide open and the windows are open with the fresh air and sun rays streaming in unapologetically. You will hold space for us and manifest opportunities for wealth building for the new collective who are awakened and receptive to this new energy and new ways of being.
Gemini, Happy New Moon Eclipse! You are happy and excited like a labradoodle. This new moon is opening up your 11th house of earned income and collective efforts and community. This door has been closed off for a long time, Gemini, and with this new moon energy, you are creating for the collective fun, artwork that will inspire the world.
Cancer, Happy New Moon Eclipse! You are oh so tired, physically. This eclipse season has been an emotional rollercoaster, and you just want to sleep through it all. You are the ones who feel it all for us, transmuting the emotional highs and lows quietly for those of us who can’t, and we don't even notice! This new moon, you will get your flowers and be recognized for the emotional force that you are.
Leo, Happy New Moon Eclipse! The eclipse is in your 9th house, which will feel like a sunray blinding you. This energetic gateway is happening in your external reality; new horizons and opportunities are starting to take form. You, Leo, are a shining light in the hours of darkness for those who have lost their way. As you take a stand and shine, take pride in the positive effect you have on them.
Virgo, Happy New Moon Eclipse! This energy is bubbling under your 8th house. On the surface, on the day-to-day, things will look normal, but all the change is happening beneath the surface. You can feel it and have an instinct to do something different one day, which will bring a serendipitous exchange. Virgo, you are manifesting, trusting the process of change for us.
Libra, Happy New Moon Eclipse! This new moon has the opportunity to bring into your life a very important significant relationship. The energy is expanding your 7th house, making space for more opportunities. Live life outside the self-imposed box of what you think you are meant to do and be. Dear Libra, you are manifesting the element of surprise for the collective and creating more space for more good to enter our reality.
Scorpio, Happy New Moon Eclipse! The energy around this new moon for you guys is a little dark internally. Feelings of self-loathing and hate are bubbling to the surface for you to face. This new energy that is coming through in your 6th house needs to clean house first, hence why these emotions are coming through to be detoxed and released. You are manifesting deep change for the collective and are a transmuting powerhouse, allowing the old to go in peace.
Sagittarius, Happy New Moon Eclipse! This new moon is opening up your 5th house, of play, fun, and children. This energy feels like an ending or contracting, going into a ball, the way certain animals create these shapes when they want to appear small. This Aries energy does feel different this time around, and resistance is futile as change is inevitable here. You are manifesting grace for the collective who are struggling with letting go.
Capricorn, Happy New Moon Eclipse! This new moon is in your 4th house and I see a new home beckoning. If you have not signed the deed already, with a new home comes a new routine to get adapted to and a new neighborhood to explore. You are excited because you are ready and feel confident that you know what you are looking for and have decided what you want, which will allow things to manifest rapidly. Capricorn, you are helping the collective stand in conviction and confidence.
Aquarius, Happy New Moon Eclipse! The new moon is in your 3rd house, and I am seeing something coming full circle, and you are happy about it. Like the novel "The Alchemist," the protagonist finds the treasure back at his home, but you had to go on the journey to get to that point anyway! Something that you buried away is the treasure you have been looking externally for. The energy of wisdom earned is what you are manifesting for the collective.
Pisces, Happy New Moon Eclipse! This new moon is in your 2nd house, and I see a treasure chest, and you have the key in your hand, but you have not tried the lock yet. This is because the key in your hand opens a lock within and not the box in front of you. Material pursuits are not worth as much as godly spiritual growth, and this new moon is helping you go within to the immaterial. It makes no sense to choose the unknown, but you are manifesting dreams that money cannot buy and teaching the collective to dream bigger than capitalism.

At my heaviest weight I’ve never been more certain that I only love fat. Several things have happened recently though that have pushed me to try to maintain a semblance of restraint.
1. I had to throw away a bunch of clothes. I was moving (ultimate motivation to declutter) and it was time to face facts: these shorts/pants haven’t fit in 30 pounds and
2. My food addiction has relapsed hard after I justified an extended binge as necessary to expedite a drug screen (I passed). I’m back to barely consciously downing hundreds of calories in junk through the night when my prefrontal cortex is too offline to inhibit acting on my core desire. I keep recommitting to eating light but at the end of the day when I tally it all up it’s about 3,500 calories 😅
3. I have chub rub now. CHUB RUB. HELP
4. It’s getting easier and easier to talk about the reality of my gain with people irl. People close to me can’t refute it any longer and this weekend I earned my first joke about it. I wasn’t even really the butt of things but it’s always such a euphoric slap in the face when anyone acknowledges my growth.
I’ve been trying to make plans to trim down again but I’m starting to suspect that this cycle of mine is just a coping mechanism. I love getting fat and I have every intention of continuing to gain.

My summer plans🌊☀️
Thought I would tell you how I plan on glowing up during the summer
Summer is my fav time because I have more free time because I am still a student and I get to really focus on myself and my goals.
First things first I am going to try cycle syncing for the first time. I want to plan my month around what stage I’m in and do different workouts. This is just a test run to see how my body likes it.
I plan on meal prepping more consistent. I am going to have everything I eat that week already in my fridge by Sunday. This way I can meet all my macros everyday.
10k+ steps everyday. I finally cracked and got my frugal self to buy an Apple Watch so I am going to make sure I fill my rings everyday.
The hygiene is going to be on point. Nails and hair always done. It’s called hot girl summer for a reason.
I’m going to make sure I hangout with my besties twice a week and go on a solo date once a week.
Studying my German every single day for at least 30 mins.
I’m currently looking for a cute little part time job to earn extra cash to put alway for school.
I am going to volunteer and do some community service.
I’m going to get outside and catch some sun (with sunscreen ofc) the weather is too good to be inside.
Reading a book a week at least. Lots of self help and a few classics.
Decluttering and redecorating to make my life look like a Pinterest board.
Actually taking photos when I am out so I have memories.
Have a little summer fling. Nothing serious but I have focused on myself so much the past few years and I haven’t dated anyone. It has been really healing but I think I have learned a lot of boundaries and self love that I am ready to go on a few dates.
Anyway I’ll keep you updated if I remember. You guys should let me know your summer glow up plans I’d love to hear them.

My neighbour from the working class,
Recently MAGA, and generally right wing populists, are winning your support. I was wondering why, why sheep vote for wolves, and I think I found it.
Might it be that you DON'T IDENTIFY as working class at all - but rather as some kind of millionaire in-waiting?
For you, skyrocketing rent, health insurance, student loans, failing public transport and many more aspects of everyday life are merely transitional hardships that you have to endure on the way to becoming a millionaire. You don't see any value in public services because they are for the poor - instead, you will soon be able to afford them out of pocket for the fraction of your earnings. "It's just one more tax cut away bro, just one less social transfer for these parasites and you'll be rich bro - trust me", your idols tell you.
...
My working class neighbour in Christ who fell for Trump, Milei, Weidel, Mentzen, Georgescu or others alike - I am gently stroking your hand and looking you deeply in your eyes when I say this:
You will NOT become a member of the upper class with a private smart home in the suburbs, two cars, children studying in top private high schools and life investment in stocks or real estate. Not tomorrow, not in a year, not EVER. I'll say even more: you DON'T WANT to be upper class.
Do you have a slightest idea how tedious that all is to maintain?
Are you ready to oversee installation and maintenance of a heat pump and make sure the service workers aren't wasting the time you pay them for or scamming you?
Are you emotionally fit to sell your old car while it's still somewhat usable and not get your attachment exploited by mechanics promising you bringing it back to its former glory, which will end up costing you 2× its original value?
Are you prepared to drive your children to school through heavy suburban traffic every morning and pick up phone calls from them in the middle of your work day asking if you can bring their homework they forgot at home?
Do you know how it influences them that they live far away from everything and have zero peer contact when back from school? They didn't choose this - YOU DID, out of your comfort.
Are you ready to pay for their therapy?
Will you be assertive enough to tell them they have to start working when all they have ever known was the coziness of the home YOU built for them?
Are you capable of systematically decluttering your spatial house?
To throw away your kids' countless broken toys they never learned to respect because you were always there to buy them a new one?
To give away their participation trophies they got at school and never needed since? Musical instruments they long forsook? And what about books you bought for yourself and promised to read but never did? And all other stuff you bought "just in case I need them some day"? You're rich - who's to stop you from that?
Finally, are you ready for the stress it takes to monitor the stock market in fear for your savings?
Do you know what to do if a bank misinforms you or your elderly parents about what they locate their life savings in, which will cost them losing a substantial amount of it?
Because I do - these are all cases that happened to me, my siblings, parents and grandparents. These are real upper class struggles that I experienced firsthand - and I ENVY YOU that you avoided them.
There IS pride in your way of being.
In living in a small, orderly apartment in the city center because you can't afford your living space being compromised by clutter and spending substantial amount of your paycheck on fuel.
In teaching your children self-reliance because you can't afford to keep maintaining them into early adulthood.
In investing your savings into state treasury obligations because your state is far more reliable than televangelists of capitalism tell you.
In working a steady 8-16 on-site corporation job where you don't have to worry about contractors, sick leave or filing taxes.
In going to a public hospital for treatment where you don't worry if staying for the recommended period of time bankrupts you.
These are not "transitional hardships" - this is your life. That upper class people envy you.
But there might only be pride in that under one condition - that there is a competent and well-financed welfare state that will bring this all about. That there is affordable housing, public healthcare, transport, education, labor protection laws, strong trade unions and so on. And now's the catch!
If we decide to go that way, your tax burden will DECREASE. That's because the much dreaded 75% income tax will be there to pick up the surplus from the top 1%. There is no better investment for that money than YOU and YOUR standard of living.
Whenever you support politicians preaching another series of tax cuts, you're taking this money away from yourself and your neighbours and instead fueling the crippling gambling addiction of the top 1%. If you love them so much, wouldn't you like to rid them of this burden?

“Oh! Remus?” you call out softly, reaching towards the tall brunette, who stops in his tracks to look at you fondly.
“Yes, Eryn?” he asks, voice smooth and deliciously rich as his lips tug up into a charming smile. You won’t tell him but his warm gaze has your heart melting into the floor.
“May I?” your hands reach up towards his collar and tie, waiting for his permission – a soft, accepting nod – before you proceed to adjust his mini-floral print tie. Working in a primary school with young children doesn’t entail very strict uniform or attire for the teachers, however, Remus continually insists on wearing a debonair suit and tie. He looks incredibly handsome in it so you have no room for complaints, it’s just that your choices of attire never seem to stack up well compared to his.
Unbeknownst to you, Remus adores your choice of clothes because you look gorgeous no matter what you wear. You could wear a bin bag and he’d still be drawn to you, admiring your cute face, sweet lips and pretty eyes. He still fondly remembers when he first met you in university, where the two of you were working towards the same teaching degree. It was only his luck that the two of you managed to end up working together in the same school.
“Thanks Eryn,” Remus’ chocolate brown eyes stare lovingly at you, “I bet I’d look like a mess without you, regardless of the suit,”
“You’re welcome,” as you happily chirp the comment, the two of you share a moment of soft serenity, comfortably close and exchanging sweet smiles. You don’t know how long the two of you would have stayed like that if it weren’t for a round of giggles breaking through the atmosphere. Synchronously, you and Remus turn to face a group of your students, all girls, huddled together with their little hands over their smiling lips as they giggle up a storm. They stare up at you and Remus with most deviously sparkling doe eyes.
“Miss Eryn, is Mr Lupin your boyfriend?” one of them asks, earning a laugh from the tall brunette and leaves you to hurry the girls along as classes were about to start soon, never giving them an answer.
“You weren’t much help, Rem,”
“We work with children, you should expect fun questions like that,” he pokes your cheek playfully, “now stop being grumpy,” with a hand on the small of your back, he walks with you to your first lesson of the day.
It was lunch time and since you and Remus had been close friends since university, you’ve gotten into the habit of packing and sharing lunches to eat together in your classroom. Today, it was your turn to cook lunch and you had gone with a simple spaghetti and meatballs with a side of cheesy garlic bread. To thank you for cooking, Remus went to heat up the spaghetti and garlic bread in the staffroom microwave before rejoining you in the classroom, where you were decluttering your desk.
“This is delicious Eryn,” Remus compliments as you laugh.
“You haven’t even tried the spaghetti and meatballs yet, dummy,”
With a gentle touch, he reaches up and wipes some sauce away with a napkin, fond eyes staring at your lips as his fingertips tickle from the brief feel of their softness, “well…” he hums thoughtfully around his bite of cheesy garlic bread, “you know how much I love my garlic bread,”
“What can I say?” you start jokingly, “I know the way to a man’s heart,”
He laughs with his head thrown back and meets your eyes again with a spark of mischief in his chocolate orbs, “that you do,” his light-hearted comment makes your heart race and you barely miss him transferring one of his meatballs onto your serving of spaghetti. When you look down and smile happily at the extra serving, you also miss the look of hopeless admiration Remus stares at you with.
“Lady and the Tramp!” snapping your head to the side, you observe another group of mischievous eyes peeking in through the glass portions of your door and have to keep yourself from rolling your eyes and grinning at the impish children who’ve made a habit of stalking you and your colleague, “That happened in Lady and the Tramp!”
“That means they’re in love!” a smouldering heat explodes over the apples of your cheeks and any attempt you make of quashing their chattering falls on deaf ears. Rather than children, they more so adopted the habits of a flock of sheep and a moshpit of ‘love’ and ‘they love each other’ and ‘they’re boyfriend and girlfriend!’ echoes through the hallway as they make their escape back to their lunch break.
Again, Remus was of no help to you and laughed with his full body from the encounter, hands clutching at his stomach as his chin tips his head back. Unable to help yourself, you soon join in his laughter, eyes catching a brief glimpse of pink on his cheeks.
Another day at school and it’s break time. You have just half an hour to put up Christmas decorations before the kids come back and you’re hurrying to put up the tinsel with a staple gun on a board. The only problem was that you were far too short to be putting up decorations without the aid of a stool. Huffy, you succumb to putting up the lower decorations first and leave the tinsel on the desks close by.
To get into the Christmas-y mood, you have some faint festive songs playing in the background. Filling the air with a light and merry mood, you begin to sway to the music and hum along, happy to decorate despite being too short to put up the tinsel. Lost in your bubble of Christmas decoration and music, you barely hear a tuneful knock at your door.
Turning with a jump, you face Remus, who wears a look of polite amusement, “I was wondering where you were,” he chuckles softly under his breath and slowly approaches, eyes briefly sweeping down to the abandoned tinsel.
“What do you think Rem? Is it any good?” hands on your hips and eyes surveying your work, you move back for the wider-shot view.
“Impressive,” he comments and pats your shoulder in approval, “But what about the tinsel?” the two of you stare down at the sorry pile of glittering garland.
“I’m too short,”
He laughs and picks up the decor, “well, good thing, I’m tall,” with a grin, you begin directing him through what coloured tinsel should go where and how to arrange it before stapling it into place with the staple gun.
“Thank you so much Rem,” his heart flutters at the delighted smile you send his way.
“No problem,” he approaches and pulls you close, his arm around your waist as he press a kiss to your temple and mutters into your skin, “anything for my favourite girl,”
The moment was lovely, warm and sweet. Your heart was racing, ready to jump out of your chest when—
“I told you they were boyfriend and girlfriend!”
“Yeah! They’re in love!”
“But they’re too old to be boyfriend and girlfriend,”
“Huh? Wha’s that mean?”
“They ‘r supposed to be married by now!”
Turning to Remus, you both wear a matching pair of amused grins, “They’ve really grown a habit of spying on us don’t they?” you hum observantly.
“It’s quite funny, actually,”
It was never said between the two of you but you’re both in silent agreement that you don’t mind if the kids continue sticking their little button noses into yours and Remus’ business. They’re too adorable to refuse and you both secretly love it.
The classroom was bustling with the usual energy of young minds engaged in their learning, the air filled with the sounds of pencils scratching against paper and soft murmurs of concentration. Happy to see your children making good progress on their worksheet, you focus your attention onto marking the previous lesson’s work. Unbeknownst to you, a piece of paper was being stealthily passed from one small hand to another under their short desks.
It was a simple note, but one that held a lot of weight in the hearts and minds of your little devilish matchmakers.
'Draw a heart if you think Miss Eryn and Mr Lupin should get married,' it read. By the time the note had made its rounds through the class, it was adorned with a collage of little hearts, each one drawn with the innocent hope of your students. Some were scribbled on, some were neatly coloured in and some were scratchy but still conveyed the unanimous agreement spread throughout the whole classroom of students.
Having finished the previous round of marking, you walked around the classroom and offered your usual help and guidance. As sneaky as they were, you eventually spotted the note and politely asked for it to be surrendered.
A warm smile tugged at your lips as you read the note and observed the many little hearts drawn over the scrap of paper, touched by the sentiment and overwhelming support. With a gentle reminder for the class to focus back on their worksheets, you discreetly folded the note and slipped it into your pocket, deciding to keep it as a sweet memento.
Your kids could be so adorable when they really wanted to.
Later, during lunch, Remus entered your classroom with his usual charming smile and warm eyes. It was his turn to bring lunch and he eagerly presented you with tofu stir fry and egg fried rice. It was an explosion of flavour and you couldn’t stop raving about how delicious it was.
“I had to impress after that unbeatable spaghetti and meatballs,”
He winked playfully as you happily chimed in, “and garlic bread~”
“And garlic bread,” he repeats with a laugh
Enjoying your meal together, you share a light conversation as Remus’ eyes wander about your desk and eventually land on the note, which you had set aside on your desk. Curiosity piqued, he unfolds it and reads the message, on his handsome face, his lips broaden into a smile at the collection of the countless hearts. Without a word, he rounds the table to where you’re sitting, recounting the story of the note in a futile attempt to ignore the rising heat on your cheeks.
“They thought they were being so sneaky but not too sneaky for me; they’re really too sweet–”
Gently, Remus pulls you out of your chair and into a warm embrace, pressing a tender kiss to your temple, "seems like we have quite the fan club," he whispers, his voice tinged with affection and amusement.
Leaning back, you meet his gaze and a knowing look is shared between you. It was a moment filled with unspoken words and deep understanding. The innocent wishes of your students had only echoed what was silently growing in your hearts. But no further words were spoken about the matter. As goes the little game the two of you silently insist on playing.
As your day continued, there was a new lightness in your steps, a secret thrill in your hearts. The note, a simple piece of paper, had somehow managed to capture the essence of the budding romance between you and Remus, a romance that was as natural and beautiful as the love your students had for their teachers.

reflecting on my april spending goals... my cashflow was not as high as i had hoped due to some misc expenses but overall positive
more stuff below the cut if anyone is curious
HOWEVER I spent about half my average on snacks and drinks, which is great progress. I also spent about half my average on my pets bc I luckily didn't need anything major, just my regular food and bedding expenses plus some vet bills.
My gas spending was about average, not much I can do to influence that one.
I was just barely able to hit my monthly goal for depositing into savings, my monthly interest earned is getting closer and closer to actually hitting that minimum (about 60% of my bare minimum goal is covered solely by interest)
I am planning to do a lot of saving in May, its a 3 paycheck month for me and I am likely going to make bonus this month which will pay out in May.
I don't foresee any major pet expenses for the next few months except for vet bills, and joy and I are trying to be more budget conscious with our grocery shopping.
I might need to buy one or two more pairs of shorts for summer but I am covered for everything else. I also might need a haircut in May.
Still working on decluttering my basement

Life and adulthood has been catching up to me and I just want to declutter my thoughts in this post.
So a bit of personal info, I still live with my parents, my sibling aswell. We're both in our 20's and can't afford to move out so we're basically stuck here -I'm of the mind that it's indefinite, my sibling believes it's only temporary.
The average price of rent per month for a 1 bed flat in my burough is about £540 (or £750 if you want to live in the city centre) and houseshares are often the same price for the room. I earn about £600 a month that just isn't enough to live independently anymore.
I pay my parents a share of the rent (thankfully much lower than average) and we all share housework and run our own errands and take care of our own stuff just like you would in any house share situation. The term we're often given is 'adult children' (which I can't tell you how demeaning that sounds) and the only support I can seem to find is from the parents perspective. There isn't much support for us, there aren't any beigecore housekeeping blogs that teach us how to communicate with stubborn parents and manage our time with them. We're kind of on our own.
People see the term 'adult children' and assume we're still living with our parents because we're lazy and jobless basement dwellers on reddit when that's just unrealistic. Existence is so expensive right now we literally do not have any other option. Many of us have one, two sometimes three jobs and still can't afford to live independently and there's nothing we can do about it.
And I'm renting from my parents who are just renting from the council! Even they can't afford to own a home and they've both been working for over 30 years.
We're a generation of working class losers who can never climb the ladder of success because the rung snapped under our feet before we had a chance to start climbing.

What I sold in 2023
this is the second in a series of posts in which i reflect on my 2023 from a financial perspective, using data from my financial journal.
i sell my secondhand books and clothes and miscellaneous objects online. i'm not a reseller, i do not purchase things to sell them online. this is all just stuff i have laying around the house.
this year i sold 18 books, 8 pieces of clothing and 5 miscellaneous objects. in total, 31 objects left my house AND i earned back 314€. yay!
what was successful
the lesson here is, once again, list everything you can! even stuff you think would never sell! i sold a bag that i wouldn't have paid 1€ for 5€! you never know who is going to scroll past your ad.
also, being on more than one website/app is very important! i am on 3 apps and 1 book-specific website. the most sales came from Vinted, but Vinted doesn't allow to sell everything. my biggest sale (roller skates for 80€) happened on a more local app that's not as well known.
my most successful months were january, october and december, when i sold 5 items each. otherwise, i usually sold 1 or 2 items per month. i don't know why those months in particular were so successful. my guess is that it was a mix of new university books time and gift-giving. i wonder if the pattern will repeat next year as well?
i have finally finished taking pictures of all the clothes i wanted to list. it was such a long process! but i did it!
what didn't work
in the name of being on as many apps as possible, i tried to branch off to Depop. i don't know how it is in other countries, but i only got spam and people trying to get me to click on links. not even 1 real person interacted with me! so i think i'll eliminate my profile and good riddance.
i also ventured on eBay, which is something i've been wanting to try for ages. i only listed 1 item just to see how it worked and it didn't lol. i guess i chose the wrong item and i should try again with something easier to sell. buying something to get a couple of more good reviews would be a good idea as well.
but mostly i need to go on the apps i already use and reupload some of the listings (especially the clothes) to give them more visibility.
plus, there are some listings that i took off for one reason or the other and never put up again because of laziness and that's not conducive to business, let me tell you.
2024 plans
currently, all the things i want to sell are in 2 drawers of my closet. i can't wait to have that space back! so i need to work harder on this payed decluttering.
i'm still proud of myself, because there were times when i thought "why am i doing this? why do i even bother? why don't i just throw everything in the trash and be done with it?" but the numbers speak for themselves, don't you think? and i can finally start to see the light at the end of the tunnel, thank God.
in the new year, i plan to keep experimenting with eBay and consolidate my presence on my current apps. also, i should start taking pictures of my shoes (dread).

From Junk to Cash: How Olympia Locals Are Turning Cars into Quick Money
Old, rusty, and idle in driveways—junk cars used to be nothing more than clutter. But in Olympia, things are changing. Increasingly, residents are recognizing the potential hidden in their clunkers. Now, it's simpler than ever to buy junk cars in Olympia if you're a scrap dealer or simply someone who's interested in car parts or recyclables. This trend has built a thriving mini-business in which broken-down cars are converted to instant cash, and it's paying off for all concerned.
Over the past few years, there has been a frenzied demand for Olympia cash for cars services. What was once a matter of putting ads in the newspaper or calling around a dozen times can now be done with the press of a button. Such services provide convenient pick-up, same-day cash, and even process the paperwork. Which is to say, no title, no issue in a lot of scenarios. For Olympia residents, this ease has provided letting go of old cars as a simple means to earn extra cash, cover bills, or just clear out room.
And not only that, but cash for junk cars Olympia WA services have become highly competitive. A number of local buyers now are providing quotes in minutes, and many will match or beat competitors. It's not about junking a non-working vehicle—it's about getting the most out of what remains. If the vehicle is wrecked, submerged, stripped of parts, or even just too costly to fix, there's probably someone willing to pay for it. That's a big bonus for sellers who might have otherwise had it towed to the dump.
Why Are Olympia Residents Selling Junk Cars Now?
The rise in junk car purchases is not all about convenience. There is also growing sensitivity to the environment. Proper disposal of a vehicle can keep toxic materials such as battery acid, transmission fluid, and oil from leaking into the ground. When you sell to a licensed vendor, most cars are dismantled, recycled, and disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. This green-friendly method is what attracts a lot of Olympia residents who aim to declutter environmentally.
And, of course, used auto parts are highly sought after—particularly in troubled economic times. Car mechanics, tinkerers, and even other motorists tend to seek out cheap parts, so these junk cars become highly valuable irrespective of their age. And so when residents opt for a cash for junk cars Olympia WA company, they're not only making a sound financial move; they're helping feed a circular, sustainable economy.
How the Process Works
The junk car cash process is surprisingly straightforward. Here's what usually goes down:
Call a buyer or junk car company: Look for those that actually advertise buying junk cars in Olympia.
Give minimal details: Make, model, year, and condition of your vehicle usually suffice to receive a quote.
Get an offer: Most buyers give instantaneous offers based on market value and scrap metal prices.
Schedule pick-up: Most services have free towing, usually within 24 hours.
Get paid: After they check the car and confirm the condition, you receive your money upfront—cash or electronic payment.
No waiting around. No haggling with a car dealer. No paperwork hell.
What Types of Cars Can You Sell?
There's a large variety of cars that can be sold to junk buyers:
Cars that no longer run
Vehicles that have salvage or rebuilt titles
Accident-damaged vehicles
Titleless cars (some people will take them!)
Flood or fire-damaged cars
Clunkers with high mileage
If it's a rusted-out car or an SUV with a locked-up engine, there's probably still something worth selling it for. You don't have to spend money on repairs or detailing—it's sold as-is, making the whole process that much simpler.
Tips for Getting the Best Cash for Junk Cars
Get multiple quotes: Never settle for the first offer—shop around and compare.
Remove valuables and personal documents: Always check the glove box and trunk.
Ask about hidden fees: Some buyers charge for towing—choose one that doesn’t.
Know the value of your car: Even if it’s junk, it may have valuable parts (like a catalytic converter).
Check for reviews: Stick to reputable buyers in the Olympia area with positive feedback.
Real Stories: Olympia Locals Cashing In
Mike, a mechanic from Lacey, recently sold a 1998 Honda Civic that had been sitting in his garage for nearly a decade. "I honestly thought no one would want it," he said. “But I got $450 cash the same day I called. They picked it up for free.”
Jessica, a single mother in Tumwater, sold her wrecked SUV following an accident. "I didn't realize I could sell it without a title. But they took care of everything. I used the funds to pay part of my rent for the month."
These types of stories are frequent these days in Olympia—what used to be trash is now actual, honest cash.
Final Thoughts
If you've got an old beat-up car that's seen better days, now may be the ideal time to turn it into quick money. Whether you're attempting to free up space, declutter, assist the planet, or simply need cash quickly, junk car removal services in Olympia are becoming an ever-brighter idea. With the extra benefit of same-day pickup, quick cash, and green-friendly disposal, there's little reason to let that old automobile gather dust anymore.
And the next time you pass by that eyesore in your driveway, keep in mind: That trash can be a paycheck waiting to happen.

The One-Year Declutter Challenge: What I Learned
I’ve always loved the idea of minimalism, but decluttering felt overwhelming. So instead of tackling my entire home in one weekend, I decided to try something different: a one-year declutter challenge.
The goal? Get rid of what no longer serves me, one small step at a time.
How It Started
It began with one rule:
Every week, find at least 5 things to donate, sell, or toss.
Some weeks it was easy, clothes I never wore, old paperwork, duplicate kitchen gadgets. Other weeks, I’d get stuck, wondering: “Do I really need this?”
But week by week, bag by bag, things got lighter.
What I Learned
1. Clutter Grows Slowly - and So Does Space At first, I thought I’d run out of stuff to let go of. But clutter hides! Drawers, closets, digital files, once you start looking, you find more than you expect.
2. Letting Go Gets Easier In the beginning, every decision felt emotional. But with practice, it became freeing. I got better at asking: “Do I use this? Do I love this? If not, why is it here?”
3. It Changes How You Shop After a year of decluttering, I shop less. Every purchase has to earn its place in my home.
4. It’s About More Than Stuff This challenge wasn’t just about physical clutter, it helped me declutter habits, relationships, and commitments that didn’t fit anymore.
5. There’s No Perfect Finish Line Minimalism isn’t about having nothing. It’s about having enough - and that definition changes as life changes.
My Favorite Decluttering Tips
One Drawer at a Time: Small wins keep you motivated.
Take Before & After Photos: It’s satisfying to see the difference!
Have a Donation Box Ready: Make it easy to let go.
Set Calendar Reminders: Stay on track with regular check-ins.
My Takeaway
After a year, my home feels calmer. I can find things when I need them. I spend less time cleaning and more time living.
And the best part? I didn’t burn out trying to do it all at once.
