okay I've got a theory/ramble about why Aaron and Andrew's deal fell apart so much, and it's because the level of protection they were thinking about was so very different. Andrew was basically the only thing standing in between Kevin and the fucking mafia, and at no point is it implied that this was a lot to ask of him. Andrew came into this fully prepared to fight anyone with any amount of power to keep his end of the deal. Aaron most likely thought he was going to get help against Highschool bullies and being picked on. He did not expect to have to go to the ends of the earth for this

i was a deeply annoying and unpleasant kid with serious behavioural issues so i understand why they did it but the way my teachers dealt with me was so bizarre in retrospect. they rarely gave me detention because it didn't work or i wouldn't show up but instead they'd make really passive aggressive or just straight up cruel comments about what a loser i was and give me made up roles in school events where i was publicly humiliated in front of an audience and tell me it was my own fault i had no friends. they literally had beef with a 12 year old.
