When Saskia said she wanted to try something, Alaire wasn't expecting her to place a collar around his neck. Regardless of how unexpected or strange it might have seemed, curiosity had this cat interested in what she planned on doing by having him wear this? Though rather than ask, he's simply moving his hair out of the way and allowing it to happen.

"So.. what does this have to do with 'trying something'?" Alaire questions, eyes blinking with curiosity ever growing. He can't say he hates it.. it's a nice looking collar.. at least it doesn't look like your typical dog collar. It's lined with black faux fur on the inside and soft; Black with darker black roses decorating the outside.

thinking about how many of jadzia's 'unfeminine' qualities are kind of legitimized by them having been curzon's–or one of the other dax's male hosts'–first. interest in klingons, attraction to women, love for gambling, a violent streak, a free-spirited and somewhat reckless nature, sleeping around... an interesting outlier is her taking up martial arts which seems to be a synthesis of curzon's klingon obsession & appreciation of a good fight and emony's gymnastics, particularly the control it gave her over her body and mind. jadzia was a shy and somewhat self-conscious young woman but with great ambition as well. she was incredibly clever and excelled in sciences. but nerdiness is not one of jadzia's prominent qualities once she's joined. is it because it's not 'hot' and in that way even worse than the transgression of being 'masculine' as a woman? is it because as dax jadzia for the first time in her life feels confident enough to be anything else but nerdy? does she know who she really is except a scientist and a joined trill? were all these desires present in jadzia but suppressed? or maybe there is a certain freedom in it: she's worked hard and thought for this, achieved this and now she gets to enjoy being dax. those qualities and desires may not come from jadzia but now they're hers, they're jadzia dax's and she will indulge them.

(I want to be someone else but for it to feel like it's natural. like it is who I am. and jadzia did work for it. just like a person irl works to change themselves).

Oh yeah since Dax was originally a name I was using only online until I tripped and fell in love with it and now use it irl, I changed the name on my blog title. I'm not like, keeping any huge sercret obvs but I'm a believer in not putting your basic information right where anyone casually looking you up can see. And yes I did grow up with neopets.

ok i made this post already but tumblr ate it and also it started to get far more in depth than i intended so perhaps it is good i’m redoing it with better formatting. anyway is anyone else deeply unwell about mjf and dax harwood meeting in the ring again for what (iirc, but my brain don’t work too good) is essentially the first time since the pinnacle break up or is it just me. it’s about the devotion. it’s about changing when a beloved can’t change alongside you. and THEN it’s about a whole lot of twitter drama

i think what has always gotten to me about max and dax (and specifically them, though mjftr in general is of course a large part of this and also something i’m crazy about) is how during the pinnacle days dax was part of mjf’s family and max was part of his. ftr stood in a position of higher standing than wardlow, sure, but their relative normalcy in the friendship they had with max is what made him so utterly devoted to them in a way that is truly painful to see especially now when comparing it to the whole mjf + adam cole tag team.

something that stuck out to me in that bit where they’re playing video games is when max says he’s never played multiplayer cause he’s never had friends, but the pinnacle was like... beyond anything he’s been a part of since. i think what has come closest before adam was the specific twitter relationship btwn mjf and bestsmileinthebusiness lee moriarty (remember when they were firmly flirting with each other on twit? god those were the days) but then i’m also sensitive about the pinnacle so this is like besides the point

anyway, there wasn’t dead much going on with ftr in the pinnacle and part of that is of course their recent arrival to aew and them coming into their own as wrestlers with more creative freedom than they had been afforded before. they were cast as heels because that’s what they had always been and as such is what the audience expected and what made the transition go along smoothly, but as always with wrestling you gotta pick and choose where the line btwn kayfabe and reality lies and for now i’m gonna focus all my attention on the fictional because while all that is interesting from an irl perspective, it’s got fuck all to do with the emotions i’m feeling towards these crazy kids

regardless, when max has a new friend he will do anything to keep that friend. the only line he has never crossed in friendship is the one where he trusts the other person. an interesting dichotomy in the character of mjf to me has always been how easily he subjugates himself and humiliates himself (in the eyes of toxic masculinity, ykwim) to please one of his baser instincts (winning, saving face, love) and it’s something he did with ftr a lot by the end

i’ve been thinking about that one interview he did with barstool where ftr come in at the end and it’s awkward because it’s in the stage of separation before the eventual breakup. cash is all smiles and happy to be there, max is praising them both like nothing else and dax is... starting to get a little bit annoyed. he’s bothered. something’s rubbing him just a little bit wrong.

this subtle thing is so important to me. cash’s persona during this period (and for the most part it still is) is so like laid back. he follows whatever dax wants to do but only because he’s sort of just good with whatever. even in this video there’s an element of refereeing or messenger boy-ing he’s doing between his friend and his other half that’s so dynamic to watch. (also it doesn’t hurt that the angle of the camera cuts off dax’s eyes so you only see his slightly defensive seeming posture towards max. it’s something i’m reading too deeply into by far but it’s something that does, like, enhance this experience for me)

i wanna talk about the second part of my motivation for caring so deeply about these two and that’s the ‘changing and being spitting mad a beloved isn’t changing alongside you’. beloved may have been a big word, i’ll allow for that, but please do recall that ftr are the ones who loudly proclaims that mjf is their family in pinnacle promos

i refuse to be normal about them.

anyway this disgust that ftr started showing once the pinnacle fell apart (and, crucially, punk became their bezzie) because they started turning face (due in part to the wardlow sitch, the other part, you guessed it, punk) and max couldn’t follow them there is in such dire opposition to this that it feels real. like i’m a mark and all but like it feels really genuine. the (learned) masculine inclination to turn to anger rather than sadness when someone disappoints you.

then max, you know, left us hanging for a veritable fucking age and in the meantime this all happened (bear in mind that more than this happened this was just what i could bear to actually reblog bc i’m not joking i’m like genuinely very unwell about this group it made me feel like so upset when it happened so you know. this isn’t the absolute worst of the worst it’s just what i could bear):

Temp Hiatus:

Again, yes, but… for a while longer this time. Maybe a couple months. There’s a lot going on (when is there not?), but it’s very exhausting and is leaving me too drained to do much more than post a random aesthetic every other day.

We are currently dealing with court stuff for my kid’s disabilities over the holidays. Fun times. *insert sarcastic eye-roll here* It’s a long story, but I’m in the works of having a consultation with an attorney. We have to get things moving over the next 60 days, so quite literally, over the holidays.

On top of that, doin’ deliveries has become an unreliable income. That bein’ said, I’m putting all of my free time into getting a new job. My kiddo’s psychiatrist and doctor both quit, too, and we need to track them down for court, along with getting new people to concur with my kid’s prior diagnosis. Plus, we need to treat her current mental and physical health issues, as well as getting her therapy going.

All of that doesn’t even include the work at home that I have to take up the slack on, since my aunt can no longer do her share of chores. Going up and down the stairs is too hard for her now so… I’m doing the yard work, taking out trash, cleaning dishes more often, doing her laundry with my own, and so on. It’s a lot and I’m just too mentally and physically wiped to try and update people, do tag games, run the BHFP, answer asks, etc.

I love and care about all y’all. I do. I’m sorry if I’m not chatty, not checking in lately, not liking or reblogging things, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care. I’m just too tired to hop online and too drained to even scroll through stuff. It just makes me more tired to think about attempting to keep in touch and talk to everyone else about their own, personal stuff right now when I can barely help my own family with their issues. It’s been extremely overwhelming, so I have to step away and concentrate on irl things just at home, for my own mental health’s sake.

I will be back after the holidays. I hope y’all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I’ll try to, at least, pop in around the holidays to say as much. Take care and stay safe.

I know people say no one wants to hear about the dream you had but I'm writing it down anyway so I can look at it.

There was a wedding going on. San/sa Stark and Th/eon Greyjoy from fucking g*me of thrones were getting married (like they were in an arranged marriage). But Theon had like a panic attack halfway through the wedding because I guess he was all fucked in the head from when whatshisnuts was torturing him. And for whatever reason Ty/win Lannister was like THEON FUCKING CALM DOWN SO WE CAN GET THIS OVER WITH. so he did. Meanwhile I was just standing there doing my eyebrows.

And then the reception was populated almost like 80% by muppets. My friend's oc Dax was there. So was the Belcher family from Bob's Burgers. Tina fell asleep on a couch. The muppets were going fucking hog wild ape shit dancing like felted fools, forming muppet mosh pits and hurtling each other in the air, and eating food ravenously, grabbing at it with their fuzzy little muppet hands. These muppets were having the absolute time of their lives.

I sat down to eat some food, and Brendan Fraser was there eating a very tiny ice cream cone. Comically small, this thing was. Strawberry. I mentioned trying to move, and he was like "i'll help you put down for a house," like I was his daughter or something. This is the second dream I have had in not much time where Brendan Fraser has treated me like a sort of daughter/neice figure. Not sure what this means. I don't have any sort of close appreciation or association with Mr. Fraser. I have only seen two movies he's in and one of those is Monkeybone. Both movies I saw in adulthood (the other one is The Mummy) so it's not like a childhood nostalgia thing. That said if he wants to hit my line irl and give me a hug like he did in that other dream and offer me a house like in this one he's welcome to. Anyway after that I woke up.

I'm gonna ramble a little about the "I suck at drawing x" feeling because I relate so much. BUT! I started this blog literally last month because I was like "I'm really not comfortable with drawing anatomy. When I want to draw for fun I often avoid it because the ideas I have involve bodies so I just...don't"

And that's no fun.

So I started this blog for myself so I could play with my OCs and have motivation to practice. I really didn't expect much engagement at all lol. I'm still not amazing at drawing bodies and that's ok! I can see how much I'm improving by drawing more often and that's really encouraging.

I had barely drawn faces/bodies at all before starting this. And I had never written any sort of fic/short story, much less a spicy one. But here we are and I'm like ???? People like what I'm making?????

Anyway, if you want to do something you should! It doesn't have to be "good", but allowing yourself to suck at something a little is the way you build skill 💚
