I wish The Shapeshifter book series came out now, it did great in it's time sure but I bet if it came out now it would have a huge following, we'd get like a movie or TV series.

Everyone would be pretending they're cola and what powers they would have.

People would be thirsting over Owen.

Dax would be cast as a black person and people would be outraged even though he's obviously not white in the books.

Ah it'd be such a good time...

2023 is officially the year where I draw Archie Sonic characters I never really drew before. It's awesome.

"-- Oops."

Dax looks at the person before him with wide eyes, mentally cursing himself for shifting in front of a stranger. But he had a cold, and was a bit out of sorts; he hadn't meant to step out of his fox form and into his human form when someone was looking.

"Hmm. I guess." Dax found himself agreeing after a few moments of thought. Ego could be dangerous, and that danger increased tenfold in the hands of people with powers. Just take the first Principle of Tregarren College, for example; Patrick Wood had had an ego the size of Mars, and that hand in hand with his charming Glamour ability had killed someone, and nearly killed Dax.

"God, yeah, it was fucking insane." Dax doesn't swear a lot, which is a surprise given all he's been through, but it felt like an approriate reaction.

"No, my parents didn't know. Well, my dad sort of knew, but my stepmum didn't have a clue, luckily. Got locked in a shed on one of the hottest days of the year, passed out and woke up as a fox. Managed to crawl out of a hole in the shed wall and ran off. I thought I was dreaming at first, but when I woke up as me again I wasn't stuck in the shed anymore." That was very much the short version, but it would do for now.

"Nice to meet you, Matyr. Cool name."

"Being a god doesn't exactly give someone the right to a big ego... at least, I don't think so." From his perspective, he could certainly name a few gods who likely did have big egos, his father being the first that came to mind. Some of his siblings being close behind. But when it came down to himself, he never saw himself as above or below anyone, he was a god, yes, but like everyone else on the planet, he had duties, he had responsibilities and he carried them out to the best of his ability.

No better or worse than anyone else carried out theirs.

"But you don't need to thank me. I'm just here when people need a boost, that extra nudge of encouragement, I guess. I can't take all the credit." Despite how casual a manner the deity had, he was still humble, refusing to take all the credit for people's bravery when he knew that people could be courageous without his influence, it was just that sometimes they needed some encouragement to get them over the finish line. That was where he came in.

Or, for those he punished -- - he'd either take away every last ounce of bravery they had left, or turn it up to eleven and let their overarrogance decide their fate.

"Huh, must've been one hell of a wake-up all? Realising you're not human?" Matyr couldn't really imagine it, he'd always known what he was, but to live one way and wake up and find out differently one day? "How'd you find out, anyway? Did your folks tell you or did you have, I don't know... did your abilities sort of manifest themselves and give it all away?" He asked aloud, genuinely curious.

"And it's good to meet you, Dax. I'm Matyr."

Would Machete be supreme at skating like an absolute angel of movement, or would choas be imminent?

I think it's likely he'd be on the more awkward side, he's anything but athletic. The again, he managed to adjust to wearing high heels and I like to think he's become remarkably surefooted and graceful with them (to the point he feels a bit out of sorts without them), so it's not like he has no sense of balance or proprioception whatsoever. If he really wanted to skate well he would be able to learn.

I know I don't really post here often. 2024 has been a really difficult year for me. But rejoining this community and watching the joy of others is a big source of hope for me. So thank you to anyone who has been out there loud and proud. It truly does make a difference.

Idiocracy (2006)

Idiocracy has strobe effects on various TV screens flashing on borders between different programs. One early scene has rapidly-changing images during a slideshow. There are a couple of scenes where machine guns are briefly used. Intense strobe lights are used to introduce the President of the United States at a speaking engagement, stopping when he begins speaking.

Handheld cameras are used briefly.

Flashing Lights: 8/10. Motion Sickness: 2/10.

TRIGGER WARNING: A few homophobic, ablest, and racial slurs are used.

Most Beloved AEW Wrestler Tournament 2: Week 1 Statistics Dump

Howdy friends, it's Saturday and that means I get to treat you all to an assortment of statistics (before reading further, just remember these stats are in progress. They should not be considered fair to anyone until the tournament is over and all brackets have been tabulated)

Total votes thus far: 70,711 (average of 129.5 votes per matchup)

The Ties

Now I've seen a handful of ties in my tournaments, but those were happening more when there were fewer votes and fewer brackets. I didn't think there would be any here. But there were. Twice.

I am very pleased to say that there were no unanimous victories this week. However, there were two instances of a wrestler only getting a single vote
