look, there's an ongoing fic by @divineatrophy that made me feel feelings, and it deserves all the love; i can kinda give it some of mine in art form, right..?

Without the ability to speak to each other telepathically, I can see Armand speaking through humans to Daniel.

“Head home, it’s almost sunrise” a random man might tell Daniel.

And Daniel will be annoyed every time. “Tell that to my face, asshole. Where are you? How long have you been following me?”

I’ve been seeing that couples paint each other challenge where couples will spend a night in with a canvas and some cheap paints and give each other 30 minutes to try and paint each other, and now I can’t stop thinking about armandaniel doing that one night and armand’s is yeah it’s good okay like it’s not great because of the whole vampire art struggles but he was around renaissance painters for a long time so he does a pretty good job of getting daniel’s minute features and shading and whatnot but daniel’s is just. lord it’s so bad. it’s like the most primal kindergarten painting you’ve ever seen but dammit all the right ingredients are there!! he got the orange eyes and the curls and he very proudly points out that he gave armand a little ipad in his painting like his fake rashid era which he cracks himself up with but he looks over and armand is in tears because not only is he looking at the first painting of himself in over 400 years but he’s also looking at the most non sexual artistic interpretation of him he’s ever seen. like it’s just. him. he’s just existing. he’s there. on the canvas. with literally no background. not a meadow or even a grassline or anything. all this blank white liminal space around his (horrendously drawn) likeness as if nothing else is needed. no body contortions, eyes too one dimensional to even hold all his pain. daniel is just kind of chuckling and bashfully being all “ah fuck it’s pretty bad isn’t it I mean there’s a reason I stick to words, I drew your nose all lopsided on that one side and—” cut to armand literally welling up and whispering like ���no. it’s beautiful.” daniel doesn’t get it. this is a liberation.

1.) Moth Eaten Romance

Rating: E

Fandom & pairing: Izzy Hands x Frenchie, Our Flag Means Death

Why it's one of my faves: At the time I wrote it, I was grieving the unexpected loss of my father and putting a lot of that into the story. So it holds a special place for that reason, but I also just think it's really cool and there's no other fic out there like it. It's definitely not my most popular fic, but it's the one I'm most proud of from the story-telling, to the heart, to the... uh... experimental creativity it took to make the smut hot despite one of the character's advanced decay. I think it's a solid fucking story.

2.) Lie Back and Let Me Unlock You

Why it's one of my faves: Unlike Moth, this one absolutely is my most popular fic. It's one that I would have a lot of fun going back to and reading again, I think, because I laid enough twists in it that I'm sure there are some things even I have forgotten about. I enjoy writing Daniel as a dirtbag misogynist with a capacity to grow and change more than ANYTHING in this world (except maybe Armand getting railed, but there's plenty of that in this baby, too!) and I think I really nailed him in this one. I am also incredibly pleased with how my MariusxArmand backstory came out, even if it was the hardest part for me to write.

Why it's one of my faves: I think this one's hot af. I love any kind of conflict in the bedroom. Like, give me sexual hurdles, I love that shit. This was also the first place that I employed my elder vampire ED headcanon and I think it really fits. This one is also one of my more popular fics and it's the one that launched my DM series that takes place in one contained universe. Daniel beating Armand off on the couch for hours while they watch sci-fi movies is just... yeah. They say write what you want to read, and... yeahhhh...

4.) Stupid Cupid

Fandom & pairing: Izzy Hands x Frenchie. Our Flag Means Death

Why it's one of my faves: Oh, man. This one has a lot of fun original world-building stuff that I really enjoyed working on. It's also horny as hell. Frenchie and Izzy are partnered Eros Agents who fumble an assignment and end up sticking one another with their arrows and, as a result, are put under a love spell and must resist it while seeking out a reversal. At one point they both get dosed with some lust dust and are forced jerk off on opposite sides of the bathroom door in their hotel room at the same time to keep from going at each other. Izzy's world-weary and jaded. Frenchie's a newbie and a virgin. It's good shit.

5.) Wednesday is Date Night

Fandom & pairing: Louis x Armand. Interview with the Vampire (show)

Why it's one of my faves: This is one of my most recent one-shots, so it feels a little short-sighted to post it, but I do think it's gonna go down as one of my favorites as far as character studies go. I still feel like we don't have a well-defined answer as to why Louis wanted to bring Daniel back into his orbit for the second interview, so writing this one was like a little bit of self-soothing on that front. I also find their dynamic FASCINATING. And what was going on in that fitted out boudoir? Some folks cry dead bedroom, others are convinced they were fucking HEAVY. I feel like the thesis of this fic is ¿por qué no los dos? And I managed to do it with an M rating, lol. I am usually not so restrained.

The Turning of Daniel Molloy, the Devil's Minion, in the Al Sharaf Towers, Dubai Rating: E Fandom & Pairing: Interview With The Vampire, Armandaniel Why It's One of My Faves: This 7k oneshot was the first thing I wrote in over 10 years, and was my introductory fic into the Interview With The Vampire fandom. I thought really long and hard about the push and pull between them and getting the dialogue right, and I'm super proud of how it turned out, particularly Armand's voice. 2. The Devil, His Minion, and the Wedding of the Century Rating: E Fandom & Pairing: Interview With The Vampire, Armandaniel, Loustat, references to past Armand/Marius Why It's One of My Faves: Mainly because it's one of the fandom's favorites! This 50K word longfic is in the top 2% of kudos'd fics in the fandom, and is I think, the best piece of long-form writing I've ever done. Following Armand, Daniel, and the chucklefucks who come out of the woodwork leading up to their wedding was such a rewarding journey for me as a writer. It also inspired the extremely talented @writerhellenemeyers to record a podfic for it, which you can (and SHOULD) listen to here! 3. Atonement Rating: E Fandom & Pairing: Interview With The Vampire, Armandaniel, Armand/Marius Why It's One of My Faves: I'm proud of myself for tacking really hard stuff here, some of which I have direct experience with, namely childhood sexual abuse. It also gets into complex trauma. Marius and Armand's complex history. Restorative Justice. Domestic Violence. Addiction. Religion. Self-harm. LGBTQ issues. It's ALL in here, and although it's not one of my more popular works, I'm so proud of myself for staying true to my vision for it and finishing it despite some cowardly anonymous bullying I got on here while I was writing it. 4. The Boy on the Bench Rating: E Fandom & Pairing: Interview With The Vampire, Armandaniel, Loumand Why It's One of My Faves: This filthy lil oneshot is the first full-on BDSM fic I've ever written. It's also my most popular one-shot and got such a warm response, both for the sexy times and the emotional subtext I was going for, that it will always have a special place in my heart. 5. Translations Rating: Mature Fandom & Pairing: X-Men: First Class, Charles/Erik Why It's One of My Faves: I wrote this over twelve years ago. it's my first-ever longfic as an adult, and explores a chance meeting between young Charles Xavier and Magneto in post-WWII Israel. I think it's some of the best character work I've ever done, particularly baby Magneto's point of view. Let me know your favorite and why, if you're so inclined.
