is it just me or is dream getting more blatant in his bullshit recently. like don’t get me wrong, he’s been problematic from the start but as of late i feel like he’s not even trying to hide it anymore. it’s like he realized that through every controversy, whether it’s racist jokes or targeted harassment or grooming, his fans will always support him, and is now taking advantage of this knowledge that he can get away with anything

I guess this technically can fall into the "real people" catergory and make it invalid but Id argue that it is enough of a persona to not be counted- up to you Dream, specifically regarding his Minecraft manhunt series is an avatar of the hunt. (I am not a fan of this creator, i used to be but for many many reasons i dropped him a while ago. however i think this idea is interesting) actually all of the people who took part in the game are- they are LITTERALLY CALLED THE HUNTERS. the only reason that kind of goes against them being avatars is the fact that they have a goal that always gets achieved but that didn't stop the manhunt until the end of the five hunters series. if it werent for the creators reputation id write/draw an au about this

Walked in on my little brother was watching an old dream manhunt video. He said "Look, this was our favourite one. With the cool boat jump. I wanted to watch it again its been so long."

My brother is 12 and has no idea of the dream situation, he just knows I used to be a fan of dream's videos and wanted to rewatch the ones I'd shown him back when I was his age. I watched the rest of it with him, saw his face light up at every dramatic chase and crazy twist, and it damn near made me cry.

This thing. This stupid fucking block game played by a shitty person and his friends. This is what I got attached too. Got my little brother attached too. I had to listen to him sing dream's praises throughout the whole video, parroting exactly what I'd told him years earlier. I didn't have the heart to tell him to stop. Because I knew exactly what he would say. He'd say exactly what I would have said.

I honestly feel disgusting. I feel horrible that I let that man's content on my tv. I feel horrible that I got my brother into his content. I feel horrible about the dream hoodie still sat at the bottom of my cupboard, because I'm too much of a coward to get rid of it. I tried to deny to myself for ages that dream was a bad person. I desperately didn't want someone who's content had genuinely made my life better to be a bad person. I'm wiser and honestly more cynical now, but my little brother isn't. I don't know what to tell him when he asks why I don't watch dream with him anymore. I don't have the heart to ruin it for him, like it was ruined for me. Because of this disgusting man who I fanboyed over for so long. I am so fucking done.

seeing people try to find the bad in a not-bad or even good message is an expected part of the Internet but sometimes you see people try to find the good in like. a big creator calling a large, mostly ND community the r word, and it's like they're trying to find the piece of hay in a needlestack. but several people have told you there's not actually a piece of hay, it's just a bunch of needles. and even the guy who made the needle stack hasn't actually said there's any hay in there. i mean he's kind of ignoring that it's a pile of needles but that's a different thing.

it's just these people getting poked and stabbed by needles because they're so convinced there's a piece of hay in there. and that if they look hard enough they can find it and prove they were right. maybe even go find another piece of hay and pretend it was from the stack of needles.

but there is just no fucking hay anywhere in that pile. it's all needles. it's all needles. and for the life of me i don't really get why they're so insistent on searching for that fucking piece of hay??
