Latest Tea from Hollywood: Vain, Main Man, Cillian Murphy, screwed his face up getting plastic surgery. So now, the entire Hollywood Mafia is doing everything for him. They got Robert Downey Jr speaking more often than the lead.
You think I'm going to forget how the same group backing Murphy, made sure to run another actor and actual A Lister', into the ground, screwed up every interview, and set in motion a publicity stunt to kill his Oscar buzz? Fuck no.
It really is not about the award. It's about the low and dirty shit some of these groups pull. Liars, bullies and cheats should never prosper. What can I say? I'm Old School.

^ I keep getting mailers about a free personality test and then you read the fine print and it’s from the Church of Scientology. I think the flip not, thanks
I keep having to tear down extremely predatory/misleading Scien.tology flyers in my school's art building. This is the third fucking time I've ripped the fuckers up and I'm getting Real Fucking Tired of it.

Was nobody going to tell me that Neil Gaiman's parents moved within a mile of the global Scientology HQs in the UK when Ron Hubbard was extremely still around & that they led the media charge against his enemies even as the cult got outlawed and L-Ronnieboy got declared Persona Non Grata & cuntpunted out the country??? And that then some horrible shit with a shady "suicide" happened and they interviewed Tiny Little Seven Year Old Scientologist Neil on the BBC as part of the associated public narrative cleanup???? And that as an adult he made his parents' lies into The Ocean at the End of the Lane????? Or was I supposed to learn about it from a random Facebook link to notorious ex-Scientologist whistleblower Mike Rinder's blog?

In order to combat whatever supportive bot army Gaiman's chosen PR firm has unleashed upon social media, here is a link to a long post which chronicles the Gaiman family's connection to Scientology.
Note that the story clears up some of the details of the childhood memory that Gaiman recounts as inspiration for Ocean at the End of the Lane. A supposed lodger at the Gaiman house was bumming around England apparently feeding his gambling addiction. Warning that there is discussion of suicide in the post.
It also discusses Scientology a lot, which is understandable since Neil's father (and I did not know this until I read the post) was a higher-up in the cult's UK branch. Specifically, David Gaiman was the in charge of Communications. He was the cult's PR guy, who would go after critics of the cult by trying to discredit them.
Sound familiar?
This is the standard practice for all critics of Scientology, even to this day. Look at how awfully public figures who've left the cult are treated. Also, I don't think I've ever seen Neil denounce the cult, even if he keeps quiet about still being a part of it. There is speculation that his production company, The Blank Corporation, is how he funnels his money to the cult. I'm not sure about wether it's true, but it's something to consider.

I also have to mention that most cults are fun...at first. That MLM conference where the leader comes out and everyone starts screaming like they're witnessing a celebrity gives you the same high as an arena concert. It sounds like a blast to get blazed on weed and meander around the country with the 'wise' lady and her other followers. Getting body high from being lost in trance before getting brain high on acid. They all make the follower feel awesome and that fun feeds into the sense that they're (finally) a part of something bigger, something worthwhile. There's often some kind of trick that makes new followers feel seen or understood as never before. This adds to the 'fun,' and confirms the knowledge of the cult is real. The cult is giving access to truth that outsiders can't or won't understand. NXVM put people into a trance in front of audiences and made them name their trauma. Many came away from the trance session feeling like they were 'seen,' or like a load had been lifted. The yoga cult I almost joined as a teen after gave out a free meal a week, yoga and meditation sessions, and free concerts. It felt like everything could and would be provided, something I agreed with politically and was desperate to find community to form around. And everyone was so dang nice.
And the Jehovah's Witnesses! They prey on you when you're grieving and give you the promise of seeing deceased loved ones on a paradise version of earth. How to join with millions of other people to spread the 'truth' gives one a positive sense of belonging. Another iteration of 'fun'. Honestly? Sometimes I still miss being in the Witnesses. That's the power cults have. It's never all bad. And that's also what makes it so difficult to see it for what it is.
My hypothesis is that in like 10 years gen z is gonna have a big cult boom the way the boomers did in the 70s

Again, I need to make a post here.
I've said numerous times that LP being involved with Emily is dangerous because of her Scientologist beliefs. People can say she's left (there's been no proof of that), or that "she's queer so it's okay" (no, it still isn't okay, being LGBTQ doesn't absolve you of being a shit person). And for those of you saying she can't leave... Leah Remini was a Scientologist from childhood, practically born into it, and she left. So if she can, Emily can. Emily just chooses not to.
I am genuinely worried for the guys and their families. And then there's rumors now that Mike may have joined (note, I've not heard anymore about it so, like I said, it's a rumor)...
I just want to share this. This link goes to the story of Lisa McPherson. She was a woman murdered by Scientology. Her story is not easy to read, but I want to share it so you guys can grasp the danger the guys are in.
Lisa's Story (tw for abuse on many levels; please go through every link as there's so much on the site to read.)
Her autopsy photos (tw for the obvious; her family allows these to be shared so people can see what Scientology did to her.)
And this site has general info calling out/bringing attention to how bad the cult is
I'm not hating just to be hating. Emily being Scientologist is dangerous. The guys and their families are in danger.
I was the victim of their abuse too, so I know from personal experience just what they're like.

this probably doesn't work with the chinese black family headcanon (and with the magical world in general), but i can't stop thinking about walburga as the daughter of two religious fanatics, speding her afternoons reading the bible in her room as a child and, on halloween, praying to god to save the souls of all the children who stopped at her house asking for sweets...
honestly all my hcs exist in various aus from canon…is canon reg chinese? nope! but i will write extensively about how him being chinese fits into the same series of events as canon, and how he is influenced by this culture and what it means for the story? yep! but it is still an alternate universe where the house of black are not white (because let’s be real. in canon, they are. sadly.)
and this. the house of black alternatively existing as part of an extremist christian faction…that’s the SHIT! thinking something more akin to a cult, like scientology or likewise. not much space for original ideas or individualism or even existing much outside of one’s faith, until who one becomes is intrinsically linked to the values of the church…okay! i see you!
walburga is taught wrong and right more in the sense of sinful or not sinful. she recites psalms and proverbs and parables, but beneath that, she lacks a true sense of identity. perhaps it scares her when she sees her own children start to experiment with self-expression and/or existing outside of the religious values she raises them on. this freedom of deciding one’s identity is something she never had, and watching her children reject what she believes to be the ‘safety net’ of religion is so terrifying to her. for walburga, as long as her faith is strong, she is protected. she’s never know any other way. and all she wants as a mother is to protect her children, but watching them start to form their own paths, away from her, away from religion, away from purity and safety…

Scientology literally has its own private prison.
Look up "The Hole (Scientology)" on wikipedia.
I have my own doubts about the reality of some of the RAMCOA claims, but considering what some places have been able to get away with (Scientology infiltrated the US government ffs), I can't be sure enough to discount them.
I am not denying ritual abuse, or cults. And the shitty things they do. I am aware that things like this do happen, and im not denying the fact that it could cause more complex or more severe DID. But, the difference between this and what **most** people in the RAMCOA community claim is that there is actual proof / proper accounts of these events/places/groups existing. which there is not for most RAMCOA claims. And no i am not asking every single person in this community to give me proof, but there are no convincing documented accounts or proof of any group or cult using "scripts" or "alpha", "beta" whatever programming to abuse kids. In fact the only research documents i can easily find about this "alpha" "beta" "omega" programming is by well... Colin Ross where he is talking about satanic ritual abuse,, yknow the thing very very linked to conspiracy nonsense. (anyone feel free to send me more research or evidence about this as long as you dont call me "fucking stupid" in the process like the last guy.) Im not saying everyone in the RAMCOA community is lying, which is why i said "a lot" in my original post. but there has been an increase in people saying utter nonsense that has no proof. RAMCOA itself is probably not a good acronym to use if you are an actual ritual abuse or organised abuse survivior, due to its history. you will probably just lead people to nonsense. sorry anon a lot of this is unrelated to you but i wanted to make a follow up post lol

It breaks my heart to say this, but given what we now know about who controls the Star Trek franchise, and it's actors, that would mean that Levar Burton falls under that purview. He's always had a very steady career. Then he auditioned for Jeopardy, after campaigning so hard for it, and...flubbed it, messed up. It didn't seem like something he would mess up at, given so many years of film work. But he did, and we lost a chance of getting an intelligent, black host of Jeopardy. We instead got stuck with the very hyped up Jennings and media darling of Jewish ancestry, Mayim Bialik. I'm beginning to think Levar Burton messed up his own audition so the other hosts could win. Steve Harvey doesn't count for shit. He does so much for his overlords, you have to wonder if the man will ever walk straight up, again. Every night time talk host, pretty much every game show host. Now, Hollywood Gay Mafia leader, Ryan Seacrest is doing Wheel of Fortune. The Israeli loyalists, in this country, who run most of the media don't want a black host of any game or entertainment, unless they're a complete tool and/or Queer. It's no wonder I don't watch any of it.
It's clear, now, that at some point in history, professional black men, probably as a result of being let into the Freemasons, turned on their own and began helping those who want to destroy or keep down, black communities. One of the biggest myths was Frederick Douglass, who in reality was a cruel man.

Not everyone was impressed, however. Emily Armstrong’s links to Scientology, and in particular her links to the convicted rapist Danny Masterson.
Cedric Bixler-Zavala’s wife Chrissie Carnell-Bixler was one of Masterson’s victims, with the musician writing after the guilty verdict was handed down: “My wife and the survivors did the unthinkable. Go ahead and send her love. She needs it.”
Hearing the news of Emily Armstrong’s appointment, Cedric Bixler-Zavala left a comment on Dead Sara’s Instagram. “I’m surprised none of you wrote a letter on Danny Masterson’s behalf since your corny ass singer showed up to support him in the prelims. Remember Emily? Remember how your fellow Scientologist goon squad surrounded one of the Jane Doe’s when she was trying to leave the elevators? The court sheriffs had to escort her away from your awful cult.”
“Remember when we did the purification rundown Emily? Were you direct to safe point me cuz of what my wife knew?”
“Why can’t you shut your mouth during the detox program where people are going through some rough shit but your corny ass is singing like an unsupervised child? Is it cuz you’re a born in Scientologist that gets a pass?”
“How do you reconcile the homophobia found in the teachings of RLH’s book dianetics? Do you fans know about your friend Danny Masterson? Your rapist friend.”
The comment seems to have been deleted but is widely available on multiple screenshots.
Linkin Park and Emily Armstrong have yet to respond to the comment.

I love your essays! I love that we can pick your brain. As someone that's kinda been living under a rock for the last 5 or so years... why does everyone seem to hate tom cruise?
(Please don't be upset! I'm genuinely asking!)
hey anon!! no worries, i'm glad you asked—i was in the same boat of curiosity and confusion myself for a long time. i used to be pretty ambivalent about tom, especially growing up in the early 2000s when the media and tabloids painted a very specific picture of him. it wasn't until i had some long, eye-opening chats with a friend that i started to reassess my own biases around him. we talked a lot about his involvement with the church of scientology, his personal life, and the ways the media has influenced our perceptions—not just of tom, but of anyone living under that intense spotlight.
this is a hard one to answer, especially publicly, i don't know the guy personally and never will, all i have is what i can tangibly see, read and hear, and i'm still on my own journey to better understand the hate and where it all stems from - as well as determining whether this discomfort i have for liking him as an actor is warranted at all. others in teh community probs do a better job explaining this stuff than me, but i'll give it a go - from someone that's learning to unpack her own biases and read between the lines a little.
a significant part of the backlash towards him seems to stem from his connection with the church of scientology (which most consider a cult as far as a cult is defined). while he is closely associated with the church, it's possible that he was more influenced by the organization than people realize. scientology has a history of using manipulation and control, especially over its most prominent members, and there's a part of the church specifically focused on recruiting celebrities. tom's fame and public image were clearly valuable assets to them, and some of the controversies that became headline news might have been shaped or intensified by that environment.
being in the public eye for decades subjects someone like tom to a lot of scrutiny, and confirmation bias often plays a role in how his actions are perceived. once a particular narrative is established—like his connection to scientology or rumours about his behaviour—people are more likely to interpret everything he does through that lens. this means that any potential misstep or unusual moment can be exaggerated to fit the story people already expect. tabloids and media outlets tend to focus on sensational aspects, particularly his scientology ties, reinforcing the same narrative over time, while more neutral or positive aspects often get overlooked or downplayed. now, this isn't me excusing anything, more ruminating on how we perceive people and events, and what lenses we do this thru.
some of the dislike also seems to be linked to personal moments being blown out of proportion. the 'couch-jumping' incident on oprah is a good example—it’s become iconic in a way that makes it easy to overlook that it was just a moment of enthusiasm. i remember seeing it back then and cringing a bit, but looking back, it wasn’t thaaat bad. cringe, yes. terrible? no. public opinion was influenced by pop culture too, like shows such as south park that mocked him and highlighted his scientology involvement. there are also rumours about his on-set behaviour being unpredictable, though i haven't done much digging into that. it might be worth exploring to get a fuller picture.
people tend to forget that celebrities, no matter how famous, are still individuals dealing with personal pressures and challenges—especially within something as controlling as scientology. i've heard accounts suggesting he tried to leave the church but faced obstacles like blackmail over confidential information shared within the organization. that perspective made me think of him more as someone caught in a difficult situation rather than just a willing participant. though... one has to acknowledge that these things aren't always mutually exclusive. i'm still learning, but this is what i know so far.
ultimately, a lot of the negativity around him seems to come more from the media spectacle than from who he actually is (if we can ever really know who that is). it's a complicated topic, and if you're interested, there are some insightful sources and interviews that explain how the church operates and how they might have influenced members, including tom. diving into those details might help you understand it a bit better. you don't have to love him, damn you don't even have to like him, but as long as you're doing your own opinion-cooking, you're sorted.
in the end, ig it's a personal choice—some people prefer to separate the art from the artist, and that might be the most balanced approach. it's the route i'd usually take, but i'm challenging myself rn by reading into it and trying to make more of an informed opinion on my own. jury is still out for me, but i'm comfortable with what i'm learning so far!
in short; cult associations, media being media, group mentality and confirmation bias. but again, we'll never know the guy and never know for sure what's what!

Do you have any legit reason for calling it a cult? Or do you just dislike them
Here I've basically answered this before but I do have a lot more to say so buckle in because you literally asked for it.
First, excerpts from private essays alters in here have written -
----
"Many cults and fringe spiritual communities have sprouted from Western religious fundamentalism, based on the idea that symptoms of mental illness aren’t really mental illness, that medicine and psychology can’t be trusted, and that what mentally ill people need is to somehow ascend passed their illness.
We see this in Scientology for instance, which when you look at it, actually holds similar ideas to endogenic spirituality: symptoms of mental illness are attributed to alien ghosts plaguing the body, psychiatry is completely rejected, and the only way to treat mental illness is to ascend to higher consciousness.
Obviously, Scientology isn’t the only cult that believes such things, just the most recognisable. If you look through the history of Western cults and fundamentalism, you’ll find an on-going theme of rejecting psychiatry, rejecting medicine, and telling people their mental illness is either a gift from god or a curse they have to overcome.
Endogenics hold the exact same position: symptoms of a mental health issue (dissociation, identity disturbance, internal voices) aren’t symptoms of a mental health issue. They’re a natural part of you- in fact they make you a better person than if you were singlet. They treat “pluralty” as if it’s a higher state of being, and many of them come from faith backgrounds which most now reject, but have replaced by spiritualising mental health."
----
"+ Link to a whole article denying DID systems personhood. They’re telling mentally ill people that to be considered worthy of personhood, they have to assimilate into this belief system. I also know many systems who have had this done to them when they were in “mixed origin” spaces, and have experienced this for myself. It’s even worse in private spaces, where they can’t be held accountable for their actions."
----
Also to break this down / add to it:
They have a niche belief system that rejects our known understanding of the world while placing all their faith on an ideology with no proof behind it and no support from respected institutions, either spiritual or scientific.
They actively target mentally ill and vulnerable people to assimilate into their belief system and instil a fear in them towards seeking treatment or of being seen as mentally ill, as well as an overall distrust in the field of psychiatry as a whole. (Not just criticism towards the institution for its many disgraces during its development, but an outright rejection of it as an idea.)
They go as far as to spread guides on how you can force dissociation or hallucinations- this is literally cult programming.
They further other forms of cult programming, such as system hopping which is inherently a tactic of abuse and control.
Anyone who denounces the cult is othered using language that would be incomprehensible to someone not in the cult - traumascum, sysmed, etc.
They treat their ideology and "plurality" as a higher state of being and use that as a method of recruiting others, telling singlets it's just better to be plural, and constantly challenging DID systems that they may be endogenic.
Their ideology causes the same harm towards mentally ill and vulnerable people that other similar cults do. People deny themselves treatment and worsen their symptoms, either purposely or through that denial.
We used to be pro endo. We were surrounded by endogenic systems. The things we saw them say in private spaces are even worse than what they get away with in public. Alters with loose grasps on reality were told they can't be a real person because they're just a symptom, and that if they felt like they were a "real person", then they HAD to be a "endogenic headmate" or a "soulbond".
Anyway as you can probably guess, this led to a denial of trauma, a denial there was anything wrong with them, an increase in dissociation and I remember one of them insisted he was "actually tethered to the body, not inside it". Bizarrely enough it even led to a complete denial of the system in some instances. (???? boy was smoking that snoop dogg shit ig)
Obviously the consequences of all this to the system as a whole were not good even if I'm able to joke about it now.
It's almost as if I dislike endos because I've seen the ramifications of their belief system first hand or something. Weird.
And before someone goes "WELL YOU SHOULDN'T BE COMPARING IT TO A CULT ANYWAY BECAUSE YOU'RE INVALIDATING CULT SURVIVORS BY-" I'm a cult survivor. I was raised in a cult. The whole reason some alters were susceptible towards the endogenic thing was because they were already pre-programmed to be influenced by those things. Over the years all these experiences have led to us being good at recognising cult programming. Also shut up.
Actually actually- on a side note-note. I think a problem some people have with this is they can't comprehend that a cult can exist on the internet, but you just have to look around you. Q-Anon started on the internet. Anti-vaxx and Alex Jones were popularised by the internet. There's other lesser known cults that started on Facebook or internet forums. This isn't new.
And additionslly, another reason endos aren't seen as a cult is because they align themselves with the left and the LGBT+ community. Since we're misunderstood communities who are used to being invalidated, we don't like the idea of invalidating others. It's easy to convince a queer person that their MAGA-hat wearing drunken Q-Anon uncle is a member of a cult and obviously shouldn't be validated. It's a lot harder to convince them that their fellow queer or disabled person who is overall well-meaning towards people, could also fall victim to a cult and also shouldn't be validated.
But again if you look at how cults actually operate, this isn't new. They often latch onto already misunderstood communities because they're less scrutinised there. It's not even a conscious plan on their part, it's just "well these people also have beliefs and ideas that aren't accepted by normie society, so I'll hang out with them."
And finally for more examples of endos being culty you can look at my tag: endo cult, because I call things what they are.
