Memories of places in the past (former gay-lgbtq+ bars/clubs) (L-R, T-B): Crow Bar (East 10th Street - East Village), Pyramid Club (Avenue A - East Village), Danceteria (West 21st Street - Photo District/Chelsea), & Limelight/Chapel Entrance (West 20th Street - Photo District/Chelsea)

These posters were all over the Lower East Side for many years in the 1980s/1990s when Dean Johnson's Rock 'N' Roll Fag Bar was happening at The World, The Pyramid Club, and other venues later on. Dean also did the door at the Limelight (Chapel entrance) for some wild parties with Michael Alig & the Club Kids. Dean also had two great bands: Dean and the Weenies and the Velvet Mafia. Dean was the ultimate showman at whatever he did. Sadly, Dean was murdered in Washington DC in 2007.

(Both posters are part of my collection. The photo one was cut off a wall around 1987. The illustration was given to me by a close friend of Deans.)

I really do think this is the beginning of the end of Netflix book adaptations. What author is going to sign with Netflix over any of its competitors, knowing that they'll likely be cancelled early without closure? Or, even worse, that their story will be scripted but never made and the rights never sold on? Far better to accept a lower deal from a smaller streamer, but earn more publicity through more seasons and know that your story will be treated properly and see the light of day.

Just saw a post about zevrans torturers in the fade being dalish elves that made me think about this.

I was listening to zevrans dialogue with the warden and other companions and zevran truly doesn't identify with or as basically any of the groups he could conceivably be a part of. He's left the crows so he's no longer a crow, he was rejected by the dalish and is not really a "true elf", he can't go back to being a kid in the brothel (last place he felt unconditional love). He's never had a lover which wasn't a contract or he didn't kill. He's just very dissociated from himself and everyone around him.

The only thing he consistently identifies as is being worth 7 gold coins. He says it to the warden more than once. He says it to some of the companions. My guys got 1 thing defining his self worth and it's that the crows bought him for 7 gold coins. And what does the warden give him to increase affinity? Gold bars. The warden is saying "You are worth so much more than what the crows paid for" in a quite literal sense. I'm emotional about the pixel man again.

You know that scene in Twilight after Bella turns and she realizes she and Edward can touch without being scared of getting hurt?

That is what I want when crowley and aziraphale are finally free. When they realize heaven won't make aziraphale fall and hell won't discorporate crowley completely. When they are safe, they reach out to each other, and maybe they're tentative at first but kind of melt into it. They slowly break down their walls and barriers. Then Aziraphale doesn't have to hold his own hand anymore because it will always be in crowley's.

This is what made me think of this:

They have to make excuses (like a dance at a Jane Austen Ball) just to get the smallest contact with each other. They deserve to be Out and proud.

Never forget that Inej canonically rejected Kaz when he confessed his feelings for her after the ice court heist (as she should have) and he took it like a champ (as he should have). He literally quipped with her on the island in front of Van Eck before shit hit the fan and said something like “I’m not big on bluffing am I, Inej?”

Everything went back to normal between the two of them and I have no choice but to stan.
