I was attending a funeral and to commemorate the deceased, we watched an animated Christmas film where it appeared that the animators had never once seen a child before. The film got really intensely into elf politics in the end.

The script, amazing fun fresh hilarious WORKED
There are probably a few nit picky scenes in the action sequences were you can see where it's eh but they make up for it in concentrating on CGI FACES.
Loved it.

Mara Wilson in聽Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
Dir.Les Mayfield
Major New York department store Cole's risks bankruptcy unless it smashes the Christmas sale. Its major Santa campaign is under threat when their drunk man crashes the reindeer sleigh. PR executive Dorey Walker snatches from the crowd a man who looks just the part and accepts, calling himself Kris Kringle. However he insist to be Father Christmas, the real Santa. Only Dorey's daughter Susan (6) really believes him, but after Kris knocks down an attacker in self-defense on the street, sent by the store's ruthless competitor Jack Duff, he maintains his claim in court. Rather than let him rot away in a mental institution, Dorey's fiance, attorney Bryan Bedford, takes on DA Ed Collins with creativity and sympathetic judge Harper. A special reward follows mysteriously...
*Macy's declined the offer for its name to be used in this movie, on account that it felt that "the original stands on its own and could not be improved upon". The department store was then renamed to Cole's.

Klaus (2019)
A new postmaster is assigned to a village at war between two halves of itself, only the newly budding idea of Christmas spirit can improve the community.
As an origin story for Santa it鈥檚 different from the mainstream ones and actually seems slightly closer to the history than most tend to get. There was some development for the lead character as he changes his entire life priority and finds a purpose that suits him as well as a better ideal other than being rich.
Some of the animation was good and at other points looked strange. The protagonist had a bright red nose for most of it, partly to resemble the myth of Rudolph, and partly to suggest how out of place he is in the cold climate. The father of the protagonist wasn鈥檛 much of a positive force and seemed to get off a bit lightly.
Easily the best part of the animation was the sinister giant children who get very brief moments in which the cinematography and dialogue are subtle but all the more unnerving due to the contrast. Most of the messages are solid and still apply today, even with the added commercial immplications since there鈥檚 still a strong communist aspect.
The ending was a little bleak for a children鈥檚 film ans seemed to make the Jesus parable that comes with Santa in that he eventually just disappears after all the miracles. In lieu of actual elves, the role seems to have been outsourced to the nearest foreign community of unpaid workers, perhaps paralleling that most Christmas toys are made in sweatshops.
5/10 -Can鈥檛 find a better example of average-
-The original storyboards depicted the first appearance of the reindeer eating berries, research soon informed the creative team that berries are poisonous to reindeer so it was changed to moss.
-The language that the foreign workers in the film speak is S谩mi.
-The town is apparently based on a real whaling town that existed in Norway during the 17th聽century.
