Born To Kill COMPLETE SERIES 2005-2016
“Going back to the age-old Nature vs Nurture debate, a good way to think about it is that genetics provide an individual with a spectrum and the individual’s environment, developmental and otherwise, determines where you lie on it. A predisposition may lie dormant for eternity, but feed it a stressful environment and increased risk factors such as malnourishment and trauma, and it will manifest. Clinical facts must be tempered with ethical concerns when applying science to society.” Source

Khal is Reading: Incredible Hulk (2023) #1
So I'm officially starting to document in here and in my journey in reading comics here and what better comic to start than with the only ongoing I currently read, The Incredible Hulk! This will be a monthly review!
Tumblr media
Directly continuing from the previous run by Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley, Phillip Kennedy Johnson (PKJ) and Nic Klein teams up to bring horror into the Hulk lore. Not that the jade giant have shy away from horror genre before (re: Immortal Hulk and basically the entire Hulk origin took a lot of inspiration from Frankenstein's monster)
As this was my first ongoing, I was very cautious. Hulk is the (western) comic character that I've read the most of and I've grown fondness to the character. From discussions I've seen online, I assume that Hulk is one of the luckier characters in terms of the quality of his solo runs. Minus Aaron, the Ultimate universe and the recently finished Cates run, there hasn't been a lot of complaint regarding his run throughout the years and I'm hoping that this next one would not be joining this tiny list.
And while I can't promise that the quality would stay consistent throughout, this first issue for sure brings a lot of confidence.
The story begins with an exploration team exploring hidden tombs in Al-Qadissiyah, Iraq and unbeknowingly release an ancient entity (seemingly connected to the green door) and ended up being possessed by these entities. They form a cult that claims themselves to be the child of the Mother of Horror. Meanwhile, Bruce is now dealing with a very, angry Hulk after the recent events between him and the Hulk (from the Cates run). The cult believes that Hulk is necessary for the new Age of Monsters and proceed to plan to go after him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also got introduce to Charlene, a teenage girl trying to escape from her abusive dad who encounters the Hulk on her run. Now, one of the things that I miss the most about the Hulk was his relationship with his sidekicks/friends. Whether it's Rick Jones or Amadeus Cho/Brawn and I'm hoping that Charlene will stay as his travelling partner for most of this run.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for what I think, I think this issue was amazing. Like "that's what I'm talking about" amazing. Like "Please give me the next issue asap" amazing. I was completely suprised at how much I love this first issue.
I was always worried whenever the first issue just didn't have enough "juice" on it for me to keep me interested or starts off in the middle of a story and keeps me confused and this issue have none of that. We get to see where Bruce is now at his life, the antagonist for this arc (at the very least), and his new friend and a surprising cameo 👀
Not to mention the art. The art is gorgeous and it depicts the horror and the grotesque nature of the story perfectly. All the credit goes to Nic Klein and Matt Wilson for the beautiful art.
All in all whether you were already a Hulk fan or you're a comic fan just looking for a promising action-horror comics, I think this comic fits perfectly for you.
If you have some money to spare and don't mind spending it on comics, do pre-order for the next issue if you are interested (or don't! It's up to you!)
Also great news, the first issue is currently sold-out and they're planning for a second print. Congrats to the Incredible Hulk team!
Final Rating: 9.5/10

𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐲  ;    ʙᴇᴀᴄʜ ʜᴜᴛ ᴘʀᴏᴍᴘᴛ #3 !
who did you share a bed with last night ? how did you sleep ?
“ slept on my own and it fucking sucked balls, man !  i’m not doing that again tonight. no chance. i’ll fucking top and tail with naomi if i have to. ”  night one, he’d been eating pussy. night two, he’d had to up and leave the bedroom in the middle of the night because jenny and dante were being so fucking loud. it was like they were genuinely trying to rub it in people’s faces. “ it’s just dry, you know ? i can’t be bothered with it. there’s a reason jacqueline wilson wrote the sleepover club and not the sleeping alone club. ”
are you getting on with any of the bombshells/originals ? who’s at the top of your list ?
“ honestly, i thought i was making bare mates in here but it looks like they’ve all turned on me after that game. ”  it’s petty as fuck. it isn’t like he’s gone out of his way to cheat on romi with jenny — for starters, they weren’t even together — but then angel said he needs to remove the words ‘game’ and ‘challenge’ from his vocabulary if he ever wants a shot at getting romi back. and obviously, he does. “ i just feel like everybody in here is fickle as fuck. not angel, though, he’s my boy. ”
do you see yourself starting to focus on one person or are you still exploring ?
“ well i was gonna focus all my energy on romi, wasn’t i ?  but i guess that’s gone out the window now... ”  jude lets out a harrowing sigh, thousand-yard staring just to the left of the camera.  “ i’m still gonna fucking try, obviously, because we’d be stupid to throw away something good over a stupid fucking mistake and some insecurity. but i don’t know if i’m fighting a losing battle. i feel like romi’s the kinda person who, once their mind’s made up there’s no changing it. ”  at the fire pit, it felt like they’d just gone round in fucking circles.  “ i’m assuming romi’s getting to know other people now. i mean, i saw them talking to dante. part of me feels like i should do the same and get to know jenny. like, actually this time, because before i was kinda holding back. but i don’t know, it’s like the bed’s not even fucking cold and already it’s like crack on, lad, you’ve only got however many days left and then you’re done. it’s fucked. ”  yeah, maybe he should have saved the thoughtless decisions for when he was back at the main villa. there’s no way he’s getting back now.
how was the beer pong game ? what was most memorable about it ?
“ obviously the fucking jenny thing was the most memorable, jesus christ, are you dim. ”   this interview is throwing him through the fucking ringer, leg bouncing and anxious to make a getaway, but he knows they won’t let him off that easy. this — seeing him sweat — is good television. they can say what they want about therapy on the outside, but all these fuckers care about is a good show.  “ not even because it was a good kiss, like the kiss itself was fine, whatever, jenny’s a good kisser, but like, everything that happened after... i had no idea that shit would kick off, or i would’ve just kissed angel. but yeah, like i said, i didn’t think it through. wasn’t that deep. at least not on my end, but i can see now why that would have come across as dickish. ”
what was it like seeing the postcard ? what was the most shocking part of it ?
“ what postcard ? ”  jude’s not being facetious, he’s genuinely confused. must’ve been moping by the pool when that one happened, too pissed to even follow the sound of charlene’s screaming. “ i don’t know nothin’ about no postcard ?  who went on holiday ?”
who did you vote for the hideaway ? why ?
“ angel, cos he’s my boy and he deserves to hit it.  ”  even if callie doesn’t seem like the type to put out, he’s sure they’d find some way to spend the time.  “ it was the only option. there’s no one else i want in there. if it’s not angel, i’ll actually be fuming on his behalf. that boy’s the fucking salt of the earth. i’ve known him two days and i’d honest to god take a bullet for him.  like, my head was spinning out last night and he proper calmed me down. they hit the nail on the head calling him that, man. ”
if you could have voted for an original to go in the hideaway, who would you have voted for ?
“ callie. nothing personal. same reasons as before. ” jude shrugs, leaning back against the beach chair. his energy’s still antsy, but less so now that he’s not talking about romi, or jenny or both of them. it’s like angel’s ability to centre him has impacted him so profoundly that even speaking about him calms him down.  “ my boy needs a good shagging. he’d be proper attentive. even if nothing happened, like... i want them to have that time, bro. i think they could make a real go of it. ”

SOUTHWEST discrimination — religious liberty training
Tumblr media
Court blocks religious liberty training
Order for attorneys to take class stemmed from termination case
NEW ORLEANS — An appeals court on Friday blocked a federal judge’s order that three attorneys for Southwest Airlines get religious liberty training from a conservative advocacy group, saying the judge likely exceeded his authority.
Tumblr media
Three judges with the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans put the training order on hold while appeals are pursued.
Tumblr media
The order is an outgrowth of a case in which a Southwest flight attendant, Charlene Carter, sued the airline and her union after she was fired for sending graphic anti-abortion material and disparaging messages to a union leader and fellow employee.
Carter won an $800,000 court award, also the subject of an appeal, after her attorneys argued that she was terminated for her religious beliefs.
The religious-training requirement was part of a contempt order against the airline issued by U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr.
Tumblr media
After Carter won a jury verdict, Starr ordered the airline to tell flight attendants that, under federal law, it “may not discriminate against Southwest flight attendants for their religious practices and beliefs.”
Instead, the Dallas-based airline told employees that it “does not discriminate” and told flight attendants to follow the airline policy it cited in firing Carter.
In August, Starr found Southwest in contempt for the way it explained the case to flight attendants.
He ordered Southwest to pay Carter’s most recent legal costs and dictated a statement for Southwest to relay to employees.
He ordered the three lawyers to complete at least eight hours of religious liberty training from the Alliance Defending Freedom, which offers training on compliance with federal law prohibiting religious discrimination in the workplace.
Tumblr media
The conservative group has played a high-profile role in multiple legal fights.
They include defending a baker and a website designer who didn’t want to work on same-sex marriage projects, efforts to limit transgender rights and a challenge to longstanding federal approval of a medication used in the most common way to end a pregnancy.
Arguments in the appeal were heard Monday.
The arguments concentrated on Carter's firing and did not deal with the contempt order.
In briefs, however, the airline said the contempt order violated its free speech rights and should be overturned.
“At bottom, it appears that the district court sought, at least in part, to punish Southwest for what the district court viewed as conduct flouting its holding,” the appellate court ruling said. “But its punitive sanctions likely exceed the scope of the court’s civil-contempt authority.”
Still pending is the decision on the effort by Southwest and the flight attendants’ union to reverse the $800,000 judgment in Carter’s favor.
The panel has given no indication when it will rule.
Starr was nominated to the federal district court bench by former President Donald Trump.
Tumblr media
The 5th Circuit judges on the panel included Trump nominees Cory Wilson and Kurt Engelhardt
Tumblr media
along with Edith Brown Clement, nominated by former President George W. Bush.

I have so many thoughts but so little time, goddammit! Both dance events were fascinating. The junior event showcasing infinitely better skating skills than the senior one is such a bad look. My heart broke for Yahli, but at least she had Tanith there to console her, she's the perfect person for this because she's literally lived through it. Although I do feel bad every time Tanith curls her hair just so her teams would disappoint her. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the juniors, they were all so different and so good. Probably the best JGPF I've ever seen, especially the girlies!
Marjo and Zak are likely rooming with Lia and Trennt respectively because they looked like they rubbed off on each other. Zak looked like he knew they wouldn't have a good skate going in, so I wonder what's been going on. Marjo's hair piece is doing all the heavy lifting discipline-wide. The tech panel tried to do its job but the GOEs were a trip, as always. It's fascinating which judges fucked over their own teams. Charlene went out there with a vengeance and skated lights out, her ponytail floating in the wind like a plume of fire. They should've been in first. Barbara's stopwatch should be put up in the Olympic Museum when she retires. I love Mark so much, his ability to sneakily say things is unparalleled. When he said C/B have never won the GPF, all of us old-timers knew exactly what he was saying - they'll be handed the win. Luckily for them, G/P aren't helping themselves with this atrocious RD. Any team that's lying down on the ice better not talk to me. And Nik really isn't doing anything to get off my shitlist, huh? I was wondering when F/G's reckoning would come and I'm pleasantly surprised it was this quick, they needed a reality check.
The pairs event also made me stabby. The Germans had no business outscoring the Italians. Minnie better shield this boy lest Aljona try to poach him. What annoys me the most is that Deanna and Max repeat this trajectory every year - they start out strong, nail it at an early Challenger or GP, and then can't do a clean competition for the life of them, the choreo gets watered down, and by the time Worlds rolls around, they're completely out of gas and the judges have lost their faith in them. The axel has never been Trennt's jump, but I'm fascinated by how he's landing his former nemesis the 3S with such ease now but not the 2A. And it was only a matter of time before he started putting down lifts because Alison doesn't teach the girls how to hold themselves up in them. They need a harder throw and a Lori Nichol/Sandra Bezic/David Wilson program if they want to be competitive next year and of course they should keep spending time in London, it's doing wonders for them, and maybe they can learn a thing or two about lifts from the coaches there as well. Their free was the most beautiful of the bunch here. I see what Asher was trying to do with the SP but it doesn't really suit them, I much preferred the initial version they did at the sectionals. The Hungarians' free could also be so tender and special if it was being done by a team with any connection whatsoever. I want justice for Sara and Niccolo at Europeans and Worlds, but they also need to change programs once in a while. Is H/V's coach really powerful or something? What is going on here? What is this shit?
The women's event could've been an email. I'm still shooting daggers at Isabeau's coaching team. The way she can't recover from a mistake is deeply concerning. Amber is being served the national title on a platter this year and she better eat. Rion's skating usually doesn't do anything for me but I kinda enjoyed her here. I still actively dislike Hanna and Loena's SPs. Nina's dress is fabulous but she's the second coming of Alina on those crossovers when I'd rather forget even the first coming. Angel Kaori still doing angel shit, good for her, as an OG stan I'm fucking thriving. All I need is Wakaba back at full brilliance and I'll ascend. I'm so ready for this senior free dance event, I can't even tell you. Hope you feel better soon!
I didn't end up watching any of the junior gpf, but you're making me wanna go back and watch junior ice dance, I may do that!
Ice dance at the GPF could have been an email, I know you said that about women -- and that's fair -- but I really think this ice dance event bored the hell out of me. Same with the free dance I just watched. I skipped half the teams cause I just didn't really care to watch. I am happy F/G got a reality check, and I wish the Italians won, but what are ya gonna do? Go stalk and kidnap judges' families until they do what you want? Maybe?!
Pairs is a wild time, I think H/V have been very consistent this season, despite all their issues off ice, and the judges are into it. I enjoy them as a team, I wish they had better programs, and looked at each other more, but I think they've got a cool future ahead of them. I'm so sad for Deanna and Max, had she done a double axel the title would have been theirs. It is fun the top three teams were within two points of each other, that's a good time for me. The Italians (both teams) put me to sleep, so I don't really remember their skates.
I agree with all your opinions on the women's sp event, amen amen amen.

Ahh I'm glad this post is getting some attention! I wanted to share a link to the start of each major campaign they had, so anyone interested can jump right to it!
- The Cub & the Caterpillar (link here) from the Wagadu Chronicle setting. It features Jeremy as the DM, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (they were previously part of 3BH, a super talented person!) as Ongenagama and Jasper as Mooti Quoba, plus guest appearances by Allan Cudicio and Lou Wilson! This campaign has 20 episodes and is set in Wagadu, an afrofantasy setting for 5e created by Allan Cudicio himself: because what if J.R.R. Tolkien blessed the rains down in Africa? (The audio quality improves a lot after the first episode!)
- Outlaws & Obelisks (link here), a d&d campaign set in the land of Utaram. It features Jeremy as the DM, Connie Chang as Hushi, Johnathan Charles as Budge, Jasper as Tovo, Unati as Panya and a guest appearance by Emily Axford as Lu'luh. This campaign has 16 episodes and is set in the aftermath of a magical cataclysm, with some elements of a western to it.
- City of the Black Rose (link here), a miniseries set in Mavros, the city of the Black Rose. It features Jeremy as the DM, Isa as Pimms, Jasper as Duncan, Johnny as Bilwop and Teri Gamble as Zora. It has 4 episodes and the setting is urban fantasy/gothic/noir, I would say.
- The Curse of the Spider Queen (link here), the second season of the Wagadu Tales! This campaign features Jeremy as the DM, Shamini Bundell as Reth, Liv as Juji, Johnny as Aboade, Jasper as Mooti and a guest appearance from Krystina Arielle and Unati! This season has 20 episodes and the setting is still Wagadu, with a lot more spiders than the first season!
- Big Trouble in Little Mineuse (link here), a Kids on Bikes campaign set in the city of Little Mineuse. It features Jeremy as the GM, Charlene Bayer as Kimberly, Connie as Jin, Margaret Krohn as Jenna, B. Dave Walters as Buck and Kelly Wright as Jaime. This campaign has 7 episodes and it's set in 1985's Ohio, where a bunch of kids/teens get into some trouble. I haven't had time to listen yet, but it sounds great!
These are just the main campaigns, they also have a lot of other d&d one-shots, as well as a few episodes where they play Paradox Perfect, probably the most chaotic game I've ever seen (in the best way!).
I've said it on Twitter but no one follows me there so I'll scream in the void here as well ✨
If you are a Dimension 20 Burrow's End TM enjoyer and particularly if you love Jasper's performance as Thorn (and honestly, who wouldn't), do me a favour and go listen to Three Black Halflings, the ttrpg podcast hosted by Jasper along with Jeremy Cobb and Olivia Kennedy (but you can call her Liv!). Just trust me on this one, I need more people to get into 3BH immediately, they are amazing!
Their episodes are very varied, with one of the main focus being diversity in d&d/ttrpgs on all fronts. They are some of the most fun, insightful and creative people in this space! They have important, deep conversations with many incredibly talented folks, with an attention to inclusion of a diverse array of creators from minorities and marginalized backgrounds. They have multiple awesome campaigns that will make you cry and laugh at once (and you'll get more of Jasper's incredible roleplay, along with so many talented guests (Emily included, she's a guest for a few episodes on Outlaw and Obelisks, their post-apocalyptic western inspired campaign)). They try out different systems and new ttrpgs, but also discuss d&d with class dives and news episodes.
They have interviews with many people: to mention a few from d20 we're talking Bennan, Lou, Murph, Emily, Zac, Ify, Carlos, Gabe, Erika, Persephone, B.Dave, Krystina, Amy, Matt and Aabria at various times, but also people from the rest of Naddpod, Transplanar RPG, Oxventure, Dicebreaker and other cool spaces!
Not strictly related, but Jasper was also the first (and only, I think?) guest DM on Naddpod, I think his Potcedonia two-shot is some of the most fun content out there!
I need to see more of them in this space, as well as more fanart of their campaigns, so I need everyone to listen to their podcast. Here's a link to their Spotify! https://spotify.link/gXVjcTIm2Db

Well, nothing like channeling Christmas a little early . . .
Gets it all over and done with . . .
A frightfully post-post modern Christmas it is too . . .
So many twists and references . . .
I suppose I would have to watch it frequently for several decades and really do my homework to catch them all . . .
But . . .
That’s Hollywood . . .
Particularly during Christmas madness . . .
Enjoy . . .
