What really gets me about the sentiment "Don't look away" is that its always used in the wrong context. People may be well meaning, but what they end up doing is flooding the conversation with zionist carnage in a manner not unlike the way zionists *want* their atrocities to be seen.

Rather than thinking, "I must traumatize myself with this image for Palestine," try, "I will not turn my back on the people of Palestine." Watching them die is not enough. Speaking only of their suffering is not enough.

Don't look away when Palestinians resist. Don't condemn them when they fight for their lives and land. Speak for their rights to live and move freely in their own homeland. Do not look away from their life. Palestinians are here, they remain, and they will remain, and they are in the future, and they will live free and happy lives just as anyone else should be able to.

"Don't look away" should not be a call to engage in real life atrocities like its a horror movie. "Don't look away" should be a call to make Palestine the focus of everything. Don't let people FORGET or IGNORE what is happening. You can talk about what is happening without sharing the same ghoulish photos that zionists love.

Bruce elaborates, “He fired two rounds. 117-grain hollowpoints... twenty-five cents apiece from any gun store. Is that all their lives were worth, Alfred? Fifty cents of ammunition...? He left four rounds in the clip, one in the breech, dropped it and ran—afraid to finish what he started. And I just stood there. Helpless.” Alfred tells him, “The good your parents did lives on, Master Bruce. And I, for one, am glad he left those final rounds in the gun. I happen to believe the world is better served for having you in it.” Bruce still doesn't look at Alfred or acknowledge the kind statement. Okay as a fan of a character who has a psychological neo-Freudian term named after her non-existent attraction to her father, I can get why Narcissus (the Greek Myth character) isn't exactly the clear-cut incarnation of Narcissism

That said tho. the myth is a lot much more than Echo and Ameinias being bad people/stalkers (that's not even canon) who can't take a hint when there's a literal version of Narcissus killing himself bc of his *humiliation* of Ameinias (In despair and believing that he had rightly earned this curse for the humiliation of Ameinias, he slew himself: Conon, Narrations 24 (trans. Atsma)) which to me is more sad than making Ameinias a villain bc Narcissus is showing remorse for something he did have control over (his words and actions) rather than something he didn't have control over (his aromanticism)
