Okay as a fan of a character who has a psychological neo-Freudian term named after her non-existent attraction to her father, I can get why Narcissus (the Greek Myth character) isn't exactly the clear-cut incarnation of Narcissism

That said tho. the myth is a lot much more than Echo and Ameinias being bad people/stalkers (that's not even canon) who can't take a hint when there's a literal version of Narcissus killing himself bc of his *humiliation* of Ameinias (In despair and believing that he had rightly earned this curse for the humiliation of Ameinias, he slew himself: Conon, Narrations 24 (trans. Atsma)) which to me is more sad than making Ameinias a villain bc Narcissus is showing remorse for something he did have control over (his words and actions) rather than something he didn't have control over (his aromanticism)

#these are just my two cents ofc #narcissus as the imperfect victim is an interesting take and I do believe he didn't deserve to die over not wanting a lover #but the way you talk and hold yourself is important. what you say to other people is important!#holding narcissus accountable doesnt make his story less sad. i mean the popular version #i dont want to vendure to the one where he wants tobang his own sister. yikes #he and electra can shake hands over being victims of Jung Nacke and Ellis #greek mythology #narcissus #electra #elektra
