Your disability is real even if it's not causing you suffering 100% of the time. Your disability is real even if you don't bare your suffering constantly to the masses to gain acceptance. Your disability is real even if you wouldn't trade it for being abled. People on the outside cannot see you, and cannot see how the intricacies of your disabilities affect your daily life. They can't see all the details of what makes your disability real because, quite frankly, they don't want to. You needn't debase yourself at the altar of public opinion in order to treat your disability as real. You know your body and your mind best, and your experiences are real. You are allowed to understand and accommodate your bodies and minds for yourselves.
We don't need to be their suffering idol in order to be disabled.

not to code gotham as eastern europe but eastern europe is the gothic literature locus classicus so i'm in full right to do it and it's just such a good parallel because. for westerners/outsiders it looks like a literal nightmare but the locals find comfort and humour in all things that throw the foreigners off. you have to find hope in a place that the others claim to be unlivable. if you give up and leave, it will always stay in your heart like an open wound.
also it just never ceases to amaze me how there are so many similarities between gothic lit & eastern european lit of the period that we would never call 'gothic' because our ghosts and our supernatural elements are not portrayed as the Other most of the time. they're there to bring you closer to your culture and heritage. they are horrors that bring you home and connect you with your people. tell me this is not the perfect approach for gotham.
i think this is also why i hate the portrayal of the city as some unsalvageable monstrosity with no kidness to be found. often places where the circumstances seem the most dire, the cultures that are branded gruesome because of the focus on the dead produce the most loving communities, as they are needed.
#also the whole headcanon that people in gotham don't smile that is a thing in many fanfics#seems so silly but i'll stand behind it because this is how EE is#foreigners just being perpetually stunned at how people don't smile at them but are also the most hospitable folks you will ever meet#but yeah this is the thing you NEED to show the societal mentality in gotham as more collective#also this is why while i can see the appeal i don't really like the concept of jason just leaving gotham and starting a completely new life#without ever feeling like he assassinated a part of himself by never going back#*standing in the corner* they don't understand the depth of the emotional attachment to the fucked up place you come from#gotham is actually something that can be so personal#an extremely niche post#dear followers today i offer meta that caters specifically to ME#gotham#dc comics#batman#gotham love letters

guy at the interview asking me where i see myself moving forward with the company in the future like i dont. i see myself becoming a famous director. do you think i actually want to make this my career
#i of course did not say that and instead bullshitted about supervisory catering/pantry managing jobs blah blah blah#this is just a paycheck!!!!!! i dont care about hospitality service!!!!!#like to be perfectly honest i think i would be miserable if this were my career for the rest of my life#i understand it would not necessarily be for the rest of my life but still. i do not want to do this for more than i have to#if conceivably being a famous director is not going to happen even though i believe it must.#my fallback position is to take the courses i have to to become a librarian maybe#i don't know. its director or nothing

Ummmmmmmm ok listen hear me out wait wait shhhh listen. Ok. Remember how the other day I unearthed and exposed my twst fankids chart I made with my friend like 2+ years ago. Well too bad bc I was thinking about it for a while after and how I was missing the beloved riddle/azul combo -> I always loved how heartslabyul and octavinelle both have trios of besties that are composed of a housewarden, vice housewarden, and a guy who is neither of those but always by their side and basically an honorary co vice house warden anyway 😌 -> a second gen trio would be so cute -> I already like riddle/azul and trey/jade (there was already a trey/jade kid on the chart but my friend made her. And I wanted to make a fresh trio as a specific unit) -> furthering my agenda that cater and Floyd should hang out -> also….
I think the concept of cater/floyd could be potentially REALLY funny and shocking to their peers and tbh also themselves lol. And who am I if not a curator of Sillies 🧍
#I don’t even know how to begin tagging this 🧍 ummmm#azurido#treyjade#…. I don’t know what cater and Floyd are called.#flokei probably lol#twisted wonderland#twst#cereal tries to draw#twst oc#twst fankid#I’ve been marinating this concept since yesterday lol#I doodled out a bunch of ideas first#then lunch break today I drew this#VERY FAST BC I WAS RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!!!!!#and my neck started hurting so bad but I had to get it out of my system!!!!#anyway I think riddle and azul specifically#would be so shocked about cater/floyd they would nearly pass out lol#riddle: cater we neee to get you to a hospital you are unwell#azul: i am already calling an ambulance#please it would be so funny#maybe they’d do it for the bit at first and then actually fall in love like the fanfictions#idk don’t think too hard about it LOL ok ummm#I have not named their children yet or decided dorms but#I was thinking about that and their dynamics. teehee#but I’m busy I have to go back to work no more doodling rn bye !!!

#its complicated but basically they're overusing their local recovery surgeon to cater to big name hospitals#so they're like. exploiting him so these rich assholes can sleep. its a customer service over humane working conditions#and mission of the program thing.#the tc was nearly crying bc of the position she was put in and how the boss was treating her. its such bullshit#cor.txt

You know what, I think I see why the show couldn't give us Destina. I mean, I guess it would be hard to see Dex be with someone who genuinely cares about him and his well-being, and stands in his corner when he wants to do something. That's just brutal. 🙄
#general hospital#yes this is sarcasm#the agenda lives on!!#and this story would slap so hard if it was destina#but alas we must cater to the bensons...

How to Adapt to Remote Recruitment in the UK?
The landscape of recruitment in the United Kingdom, like in many parts of the world, has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. The advent of technology and the global pandemic have accelerated the shift towards remote recruitment practices. As a result, both job seekers and employers have had to adapt to this new way of hiring and job hunting. This blog explores the challenges and opportunities presented by remote recruitment in the UK and provides valuable insights on how to navigate this changing landscape successfully:
The Rise of Remote Recruitment
Before delving into the intricacies of adapting to remote recruitment, it's essential to understand why this shift has occurred. Several factors have contributed to the rise of remote recruitment in the UK:
1. Technological Advancements
The UK, a global technology hub, has seen rapid advancements in digital communication tools and platforms. These technologies have made it easier for employers and candidates to connect and conduct interviews from the comfort of their homes.
2. The COVID-19 Pandemic
The pandemic forced businesses to adapt quickly to remote work and recruitment practices. Many companies discovered that remote recruitment not only allowed them to continue hiring but also widened their talent pool by eliminating geographical barriers.
3. Cost Efficiency
Remote recruitment often leads to cost savings for both employers and job seekers. Companies can reduce overheads associated with in-person interviews, and candidates can save on travel expenses.
Challenges of Remote Recruitment in the UK
While remote recruitment offers numerous benefits, it also presents its share of challenges. Being aware of these challenges is the first step in successfully adapting to this new way of hiring:
1. Lack of Personal Connection
One of the drawbacks of remote recruitment is the lack of in-person interaction. Building a personal connection with candidates or employers can be more challenging when you're not physically present.
2. Technical Issues
Technical problems can disrupt the recruitment process. Internet connectivity issues, software glitches, and unfamiliarity with virtual interview platforms can hinder the smooth flow of remote recruitment.
3. Ensuring Data Security
Handling sensitive candidate information and conducting background checks remotely requires a robust approach to data security to protect candidates and comply with UK data protection laws.
Strategies for Adapting to Remote Recruitment
To thrive in the era of remote recruitment in the UK, both job seekers and employers can employ various strategies:
For Employers:
1. Embrace Technology
Invest in user-friendly video conferencing tools and applicant tracking systems. Familiarise yourself with these technologies to ensure smooth remote recruitment processes.
2. Create a Virtual Onboarding Process
Develop a comprehensive virtual onboarding program to make new hires feel welcome and integrated into the company culture, even when working remotely.
3. Prioritise Communication
Maintain clear and regular communication with candidates. Explain the recruitment process clearly and provide opportunities for candidates to ask questions.
For Job Seekers:
1. Build a Strong Online Presence
Optimise your LinkedIn profile and other professional social media platforms. Many employers in the UK use these platforms to scout for potential candidates.
2. Practice Video Interviews
Familiarise yourself with video interview platforms and practice answering common interview questions on camera to build confidence.
3. Stay Informed
Stay updated on the latest remote recruitment trends and tools. Continuous learning and adaptability are valuable skills in today's job market.
The Future of Remote Recruitment in the UK
Remote recruitment is not just a temporary trend; it's here to stay. As technology continues to evolve and businesses recognise the benefits of remote work and hiring, the UK's recruitment landscape will keep evolving. This evolution offers exciting opportunities for both job seekers and employers.
Conclusion
Adapting to remote recruitment in the UK is essential for staying competitive in the modern job market. Embracing technology, addressing challenges, and staying informed are key steps towards success in this new era of recruitment. By following these strategies, you can navigate the changing landscape with confidence and continue to build a strong and talented workforce in the United Kingdom.
In the dynamic world of remote recruitment in the UK, companies like Berry Recruitment have played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between employers and job seekers. With a commitment to excellence and adaptability, the company exemplifies the qualities necessary to thrive in this evolving landscape. The organisation has embraced technology, streamlined its processes, and fostered meaningful connections in a virtual world, making them essential players in the modern UK recruitment arena.

Setting up a concept version of a marketing plan for a (hobby cook) home cook business. This is something that has been making me so happy and keepin’ me going in a good mood with good hopes. :)) It might be a little pricy in the beginning (I have to purchase some professional cookware and crockery and all - not to forget I have to build a professional portfolio first of [culinary expensive] dishes and meals, shot in high definition photo quality), but eventually, after my first 3-4 shifts, I can make an awesome extra savings/living off it. (and not earn my money from sitting before a friggin’ draining computer screen all day!!!!) I can picture myself running a happy business cooking up dinner get-togethers at people’s homes, albeit I stress I am a hobby cook (not an accredited professional chef). I explored + researched the market a little bit, and there is little competition in the field the way I aim to do it. I just have to use some storytelling, branding magic and train my cooking skills for a few months. And hope to go live and run a small gastronomic business around April/May! Who knows what this will bring me :))) Maybe be clever now and already gain some field experience by working in a kitchen somewhere doing basic tasks.
#I can also target my services to niche audiences - like elderly people who need a little help in the kitche#*kitchen#Or run a catering business/instead of a home cook business#If I run 6 shifts a month I could earn around €1500 to keep for myself to save! How cool is that#and I love pampering people - I have some hospitality in my blood that is rather home in restaurant & hotel life than in the medical field#(like nursing) it's too close and people are too dependable on you for my likings#*I don't intend to make this my main business ever (unless I really like it) but to combine it with office work would be really nice :)#Looking for that after graduation anyways: combining office work (parttime) + (parttime) work without a computer screen

Alright, I'll come clean. When I say I work at a "bakery", that's me romanticizing working at the bread department of a grocery store.
Yes, I bake breads and pastries and slice them and wrap them and deal with people who want to know if we have another loaf of buckwheat bread (why yes, I will slice and wrap it for you on the spot ma'am).
But I also have to deal with people who can't find the bacon strips and make that my problem. And who want me to check if there's more beer in storage. Idk man, I'm still integrating into the bread kingdom.
So it's like a bakery, but waaaaay more overstimulating and we have a super tight schedule every day. Also I've already burned my hand pulling croissants out of the oven.
I want to write fics but instead I spend my free time recovering from the overstimulation in time for my next work shift
#work at a grocery store they said#it's great for autistic people they said#I need to get out of here I say#autism#I've worked in hospitality/catering before and this is eerily similar
