I mixed the General Mills Carmella Creeper Monster Cereal, General Mills Frute Brute Cherry Flavored Monster Cereal, and Cap'nCrunch Halloween Crunch Cereal, with the Silk Unsweet Almond Milk.
This cereal mix was pretty good.
The dry version of this mixed tasted like it had a light caramel. cherry and a vanilla caramel from the Cap'nCrunch taste while also crunchy.
This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I tried this with the Silk Unsweet Almond Milk and it was pretty good.
This cereal mix tasted pretty good but still stayed crunchy in both almond milks.
The cereal milk gave the unsweetened almond milk some sweetness that this almond milk needed.
This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
The milk had a light caramel, a vanilla caramel, and cherry sweet taste.
I would eat this again.
I already reviewed all three of these cereals with both Kroger almond milk before but not mixed together.

honestly shoutout the general mills novelty halloween cereals for all being corn based out of a presumable unwillingness to spring for oats, producing an event in which we have literally the most edible cereal options we’ll have all year

HEY HOLD THE FUCKIN PHONE THEY’RE MAKING A NEW MONSTER CEREAL FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THEY MADE YUMMY MUMMY IN 1988
Tumblr media
A zombie was the only sensible choice considering modern children probably think about zombies more than all other halloween monsters combined. Glad they took the opportunity to also make a goth girl monster cereal. Finally I gotta say I don’t really like cereal much but caramel apple sounds better than all the other flavors and it’s even an actual halloweeny fall flavor. Makes me wonder why they never made a pumpkin pie one. I hope there’s an animated commercial to go with it but I don’t know if they really do those anymore.

baby food is pretty low in calories, especially fruit packets. plus, small cutlery and plates help with portion control.

I want my happy-ish domestic ending, so I wrote it myself. Anyways, here's Emi's sixteenth birthday (cw/tw: death mentions):
When Emi woke up, she was filled with excitement. Today, she was officially sixteen. She had lived one more year, and that was something, right? She had a relatively normal life now. She was adopted all those years ago. She goes to school and hangs out with friends like all teenagers her age do. After getting up from bed, she walked into the kitchen of the apartment, passing Luis, who was sleeping on the couch. A note was held on the fridge door with a magnet. It was from Benito. It said he had to go into work early, but hopefully, he'll be back in time to celebrate her birthday. It finished with him telling her to have a good day. Emi tried her best not to feel upset as she knew Benito was out here saving people. Like how he saved her. She made herself a bowl of cereal and sat on the arm rest of the couch where Luis slept. The tv was playing some old reality show that Emi didn't much care for.
School was pretty normal for Emi, aside from being given a few happy birthdays and a small gift of a cookie from a friend. There was only one hiccup in the day. Honestly, it really isn't a hiccup, just a surpise. A substitute teacher called full names on the roster, including hers Emilía-Lucie Camelo. When her adoption became official, she was allowed to change her name. She thinks it was meant for her to only change her last name, but when she added Lucie to her first name, Benito smiled so brightly at her. It was another way to keep Lucie's memory and legacy alive.
After school was over, Emi went back to the apartment she shared with Benito and Luis. Only Luis was home as it was his day off from working night-shift security at some fancy hotel. He greeted her and wished her a happy birthday while ruffling her head under her beanie. The two sat in comfortable silence while she did homework, and Luis did some minor chores. Near sunset, there was knocking at the door. When Luis opened the door, there stood Jeffrey and Diego. The two had been traveling around the world working through whatever they needed to work through. They still made time to be in Emi's life when possible as they, Diego mostly, took comfort in her being living proof of Lucie's memory. After a small group hug, they four took some time to eat a few snacks and watched some more trash tv together like a family would. They are a family afterall.
Benito came back just a bit after sunset with a cake and a few candles. It was too long after, when Emi sat at the dining table with a cake in front of her with some candles stuck in it. "She would be very proud of you if she was here, Emi," Diego spoke, and Emi's started to tear up. "Don't make her cry on her birthday, jackass." Benito immediately responded with both Luis and Jeffrey giving him 'what the fuck' type looks. Diego immediately apologized, saying sorry quickly in rapid secession. Emi found herself laughing softly as the candles were lit. She closed her eyes and blew out the candles. Her wish was for her to make what happened all those years ago worth it. Her birthday cake was caramel apple flavored.

Monster Cereals
For me, it wouldn't be the Halloween season without General Mills' monster cereals. For the uninitiated, the monster cereals are a set of cereals with the same basic setup, but a variety of flavors each corresponding to a kooky monster mascot. The best known is Count Chocula, perhaps the friendliest vampire this side of Sesame Street. Frankenberry is a gestalt zombie, or as the public might call him, a Frankenstein monster. Either way, his deal is strawberry. And predictably, Boo Berry is a ghost whose cereal tastes like blueberry.
The original trio aren't alone, though. Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute, a mummy and a werewolf, have both had a few trial runs, under differing flavors. I'm a big fan of the most recent Fruit Brute, a cherry cereal that I thought was quite tasty.
And in 2023, General Mills made history with America's most prominent female cereal mascot since the Honey Bunches of Oats lady and a revolving door full of Wheaties sportswomen. Everybody give a hand to Carmella Creeper, who not only got her very own (and very seasonally appropriate) caramel apple flavored cereal, but also became the spotlight character of Monster Mash, a limited edition cereal that combined elements of all six! Sadly, I haven't had the chance to try Carmella's concoction yet, but it was high time a lady mascot got on a box.
But as much as I could mindlessly gush over this bare minimum of representation that looks like she dropped out of Monster High, the thing that gets me writing is this year's line, which gives each monster a pet. Take a look.
Tumblr media
You can tell I'm a cereal fan bc I have these displayed in my window (partially to keep my cat off the windowsill so he doesn't play too agressively with the blinds). But the point is... why, if they're going to have a bat, doesn't it go to the vampire? A spider makes just as much sense for Frank as a bat does, but a bat just makes so much more sense with the Count. It baffled me. It inspired me to write, which is good, because even thought I love it, I don't do it enough. And I love Boo Berry's cat. Carmella's snake is good too.
Anyway, don't know how to wrap up. Don't diss adults for liking kids things. Good luck and have fun!

this is one of the precious few things keeping me going
*It was announced in June and set to release "later this year" and the halloween cereals are meant to run from September 1st to October 30th, but there will probably be a delay before it actually begins appearing in stores.

Carmela Creeper Cereal was released by General Mills this year, supposedly caramel apple flavored, accompanied with monster shaped marshmallows
it was... okay.
I LOVED the presentation, but I also thought that they could've gone harder with the caramel apple flavoring tbh
frankly, I thought the cereal bits looked more like little green ghosts than skulls, and alongside my Ghostbusters spoons from a Sonic Drive In promotion awhile back, it seemed a lot more fitting
so, as an excuse to show off my spoon collection + memorialize this Monster Cereal, here's a photoshoot I did last night before I tossed the remaining cereal I had left in the box (which was taking up valuable real estate in my cereal pantry, lol)
if you ignore the box, its very easy to pretend that it's Slimer's Ecto Cereal with Mini Puft Marshmallows
using your Officially Licensed Ghostbusters™ spoons, detect, capture, and eat the ghosts and save New York city! ... or something like that, lol
in fact, the glow-in-the-dark Slimer spoon matched perfectly, so much so that it isn't that hard to imagine it being a pack in cereal prize
I also LOVE how the green looks in these photos like YES you must EAT the ectoplasmic cereal sadly it also probably tastes like ectoplasm rip
feel free to eat it alongside the movies or cartoon tho, it's a very immersive experience

I mixed the General Mills Carmella Creeper Monster Cereal, General Mills Frute Brute Cherry Flavored Monster Cereal, and Golden Foods Fruti Rolls Bubble Gum Rings Cereal, with the Kroger Simple Truth Original Almond Milk.
This cereal mix was pretty good.
The dry version of this mixed tasted like it had a light artificial caramel apple, cherry and a bubblegum taste while also some of the pieces were crunchy.
This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I tried this with the Kroger Simple Truth Original Almond Milk and it was pretty good.
This cereal mix tasted pretty good but still stayed crunchy in both almond milks.
The cereal milk gave the original almond milk some sweetness that this almond milk needed.
This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
The milk had a light artificial caramel apple, cherry, and bubble gum sweet taste.
The General Mills Carmella Creeper Monster Cereal weighed 43 g.
The General Mills Frute Brute Cherry Flavored Monster Cereal weighed 42 g.
The Golden Foods Fruti Rolls Bubble Gum Rings Cereal weighed 54 g.
The Kroger Simple Truth Original Almond Milk weighed 18.0 fl oz.
I would eat this again.
I already reviewed all three of these cereals with both Kroger original almond milk before but not mixed together.

Duff Goldman’s Kellogg’s NYC Residency Menu
Food AND Drink
Type of Funny Food: Event
Introduced: September 2018
Location: Kellogg’s NYC
Tumblr media
Kellogg’s NYC is a now-closed “cereal cafe” that took up residence in Times Square- and then Union Square- from 2016 to 2019. In that short time, the cereal giant-owned cafe hosted a number of events, including one for National Cereal Day, and another for Pop-Tarts.
Another of these events was a two-day residency helmed by famed pastry chef and ‘Ace of Cakes’ Duff Goldman. Goldman created his own cereal-themed menu for the occasion, which included food- main course and dessert alike, and one drink!
The menu options were:
Tumblr media
Corn Flakes Crunchy Mac ‘n’ Cheese, a baked bacon mac and cheese topped with Corn Flakes,
Tumblr media
Special K Red Berry Yummy Frisée Salad, a curled endive salad with Special K Red Berry croutons, whole grain mustard vinaigrette, and cranberries, served with Corn Flakes-baked potatoes au gratin,
Tumblr media
Snap Crackle Poppin’ Matzo Balls with Chicken Soup, Rice Krispies-based matzo balls in vegetable-filled chicken soup,
Tumblr media
Kellogg’s Krispie Fish Sticks, Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes-battered cod sticks served in an actual fish bowl with your choice of assorted sauces,
Tumblr media
Sunny-sensational Lahmajoun, a Turkish flatbread made with with bran dough drizzled with labneh and mint and covered in date puree, raisins, shredded haloumi, tumeric parsley pesto, lamb and sesame Raisin Bran sausage, and diced white onion,
Tumblr media
Big Apple Jacks Bowl, a caramel-drizzled “deconstructed” caramel apple with a “snickerdoodle surprise” and peanut candy clusters, served in an event-exclusive bowl designed by Goldman,
Tumblr media
Frosted Flakes Pumpkin Spiced-Up Rompope, a drink filled with Pumpkin Spice Frosted Flakes custard and topped with Frosted Flakes streusel and cinnamon whipped cream,
Tumblr media
G-r-r-reatest Banana Kream Pie Ever, a maple-cinammon banana cream pie with Frosted Flakes crust with milk chocolate and Krave inside,
Tumblr media
and the Not So Mini Mini-Wheats Upside Down Cake, a pineapple and Frosted Mini-Wheats cake a la mode with pan-toasted Rice Krispies.
Interestingly, one offering was present in advertising for the event, but didn’t seem to make it to the official menu. This was some flavor (ha) of Froot-Loops-themed macaron and cookie with a color-changing rainbow custard that came out of a toothpaste tube.
Tumblr media
Donations made during the short residency were given to the charity No Kid Hungry. Customers could also buy themed merchandise, such as the aformentioned Duff-designed cereal bowl.
