I've gotten a few notes on a few different posts where someone in the tags brags about intentionally "body checking" someone else when they're in their way.
For example on a post I made about leaving the way clear for people exiting elevators or public transportation instead of standing right in front of the door blocking it I got a few notes from people saying "haha yeah I always give someone a good body check if they do this and I love seeing the shocked and offended look on their face"
or on a post about leaving room for the flow of traffic I had people in the notes bragging about giving "body checks" to people in their way on a sidewalk or in a hallway.
Do. Not. Ever. Ever. EVER intentionally bump into people aka give them a "body check". Anyone who brags about this kind of behavior in my notes is getting blocked. You are literally physically assaulting someone and then bragging about it. Physically assaulting another person is actually a lot worse than accidentally being in someone's way, and I have no tolerance for it.
The times in my life where someone has intentionally "body checked" me have been when I was disassociating and/or about to pass out from low blood sugar, or quite literally was as far off to the side as possible (literally up against a wall or packed up against other people in a crowded area) and every time this has happened it has ended in me having a full blown panic attack that I need to take emergency meds to come down from due to my PTSD.
You never know why someone could be in your way. They could be visually impaired. They could be disassociating. They could be about to pass out from low blood sugar. They maybe just experienced a disturbing or traumatic event that's shut down their pre-frontal cortext. All sorts of things. So congrats I guess on physically assaulting someone who might be disabled or disassociating or about to faint from low blood sugar. You sure are showing them.
Not only that, but it's unsafe for you too. There are violent and unstable people in this world, and you might "body check" the wrong person one day. I had a friend in secondary school who would brag about this kind of behavior, and when I was talking to my aunt about it one day she said to me "one day your friend is going to do that to the wrong person and find herself cleaning herself up off the floor."
And if you're only "body checking" people you think it's "safe" to, people who you're pretty sure won't be able to fight back? People smaller and weaker looking than you? Congrats, not only are you definitely a bully then, but you're also perpetuating systems of social injustices in this world like ageism and ableism by only going after "the weak".
#thats so awful#the most aggressive thing i do in this case is stand directly in front of them to bar their entry until they step aside to allow my egress#but nowadays i dont do that either#for most of the aforementioned reasons like not knowing whats on their mind what their abilities are whats happening to them#like maybe theyre in a hurry maybe theyre distracted even if it isnt like a blood sugar thing or otherwise physiological#the shoulder slam has served me well in other situations though like when someone is TRYING to stop me from leaving#or use their position between me and the exit to threaten me#because if youre fast enough and someone is just standing normally or leaning. it doesnt matter how big they are

this company is so frustratingly misleading. They did not bring back the direwolf (Aenocyon dirus). They modified a modern grey wolf (Canis lupus) into having some direwolf morphology. There has been no de-extinction. This is pure hype slop. As a friend said "these are dire wolves the same way La Croix is a fruit".

it wasn't ever normal that you guys were getting coffee for cheaper than people in Brazil and Colombia (the producers) do though, I hope you know that
#i was saying this to someone earlier#the prices we are used to paying are only possible because both people and environments are being exploited somewhere else#(side note the exploitation of the environment impacts the people who live in it)#and in some cases the level of availability only makes sense because of the cheapness with which the products can be produced#because of the exploitation#companies using these practices arent just increasing their profit margin this is literally the only way to bring affordable x to us#therefore in a more just world we wouldnt have freely available x (we would have it less often and pay more for it or not have it at all)#and it would be a downgrade for us. it would negatively affect us. but we SHOULD just experience and accept this downgrade#because we can only have x through exploitation therefore we shouldnt have x (for instance year round cheap-ish mangos)#when i say we i mean me and the other people who live where i live

A friend has once again brought it to my attention that it is unusual to have an intact chronological memory of life prior to age 12 and you know what鈥檚 weird to ME is that the rest of yall forgot how to sing the clean-up song
#i never fell into the toilet when i was a baby but i was always terrified i would#long after i could use the bathroom myself i made my adults accompany me into porta-potties because can you fucking imagine#before that i remember not understanding like properties of objects#and being afraid that if the drain was unplugged while i was still in the bath i would go down it#and that the roomba would suck me up and drag me under the couch and make me eat dust and spiders#i dont remember those carseats being too bad but i did hate how once you were in them they were kind of cup shaped#and it was really hard to get out without help#and for long trips your legs would be held in the same place and youd get a sore spot on your butt you couldnt maneuver off of#and it would suck when you woke up in your crib but because its a literal cage you couldnt get out#eventually i *could* but i had to split my pillows between being landing pads and stacking to get over the bars#and then i would get in trouble for leaving my crib. not having the grip strength to open literally any container also sucked#IM READY FOR MY VEG SLUDGE. I KNOW ITS IN HERE.#or you know what else when you were hungry but you had to use your hands to put peas in your mouth#and you kept squishing them and the good part would fall out and it was too wet to pick up except with your mouth#but when you lean down your tray table presses painfully into your chest#or when they DID help you their aim with the spoon SUCKED and they kept timing it wrong so you were still in breathing mode

I just discovered two of the people on the campaign I created were murdered. One of them was a child.
I feel like an absolute ghoul posting these conversations online but I need people to understand what is happening. I've been talking to Abdul and his friends almost every day since last year. I know them.
Every time the messages stop I know I may never even find out what happened to them. When and if they start again, I find out who is left.
Five people still need immediate transport from an area scheduled for bombing.
