"it was awkward to see colin flirt and behave like a rake" "he gave me the ick" yes ! that is the fucking point!! congratulations! you have the media literacy skills of a fucking monkey because my 4-year old niece could understand it better than you do.

we are supposed to find colin cringey and annoying and get the ick because that is not who he is. he is not anthony, or simon, or even benedict. colin (apart from gregory) is the sweetest of all bridgerton brothers (i'm going by book canon) and his most identifiable character trait is the fact that he values an emotional connection above everything. he runs away to the continent because he wants to feel that emotional connection. he has meaningless sex in brothels because that is the example he has seen growing up, that is the norm. he tries so hard to fit into the norm. he goes out drinking, adopts an entirely new personality, learns flirtations because that is how he thinks he will fit in. he's got armour on, as violet said. he puts everyone's needs above his own, he stops rambling on and boring his family with details of his trip because he knows no one cares. he doesn't talk to anthony or benedict about his heartaches because he knows they still, somewhere in their heart of hearts, view him as the annoying younger brother. he's so devastated by his closest friend not responding to him that he adopts a new personality in the hopes that it might mask the hurt better. he runs after penelope in episode one because he is so attuned to her emotions that he knows she's hurting, and tries to comfort her even when she's spiraling and lashes out. he must have been hurt by her words in the "good night mr bridgerton" scene but he puts it aside to genuinely apologise to her when literally no one else in that family would do that. colin, instead of brooding over his own feelings, goes and corners penelope in her family's garden and apologises to her, disregarding his own hurt at being cruelly dismissed by his close friend.

penelope asking colin to kiss her is not a mark of how "pathetic" she is. she has written and shamed herself in a manner that is almost entirely unsalvageable. she is at her lowest point, and then portia comes in and reminds her of how undesirable she is, and she sinks even lower. she asks colin to kiss her because she sees it as a final act, after which she can quietly wave goodbye to her dreams of ever getting married and leaving her mother's home. colin kisses her because he is also keenly aware of how she's feeling. he knows how hurt she is, he wants to do anything to alleviate that. be it cracking a joke, or kissing her. he is gentle, because he wants it to be something she can dream of when she's by herself. penelope, at this moment, has no hope for herself, and their kiss is an act of letting go for her. no, it's not a pity kiss, no he did not like her after her glow up, he has always loved her. him being struck dumb is a reaction to her physical transformation, nothing more. he does not flirt with her in that ballroom scene, he only approaches her when she's in distress. he's not flirting with her. i can assure you penelope could wear the frumpiest most neon yellow gown of all time and colin would still go "<333 my pen" for her.

colin jumps to catch the balloon's ropes because he sees that penelope is in danger, he does not give a shit about anyone else lmao. he feels temporary relief when he sees eloise run to safety, but the moment he sees penelope in immediate danger, he rushes to take action. afterwards, when he sees that she's being comforted by debling (all my homies hate debling, even if he is aro/ace coded i do NOT claim him) he does not approach her. it would be easy for him to do so, but he does not, because he respects her boundaries. colin bridgerton is the only man in the ton who respects women (the featherington sons-in-laws are too pretty to have a thought) he calls out fife and his friends for treating women like objects and calls them cavalier. the only way he would have been more explicit about his demisexuality was if he tap danced on the club table (entertaining thought, luke newton please)

colin also rapidly takes action, something which no one in the show has done so far. simon would have died instead of accepting his feelings for daphne, daphne would have been content with a loveless marriage forever instead of asking for help. kate would have pushed edwina down the aisle and gone off to india instead of confronting her own feelings, and anthony would have married edwina if she hadn't been brave enough for the three of them to run from the altar and ruin herself. penelope stood on the sidelines for years and loved him quietly because she had no hope of him loving her back. colin, the moment he is assured of his feelings, runs to penelope, almost kisses her in the middle of a ballroom. when he hears that debling is about to propose, he goes to the ball, just to dissuade penelope one more time. he cuts into their dance because he's desperate. when he runs after her carriage, he asks her if she has been proposed to, because he would not have touched her otherwise. he confesses his feelings to her only when he knows that she hasn't gotten engaged to debling, and when she says "but we are friends" he moves away. nothing more. he would have let her go, if she did not return his feelings.

idk whether i should be flattered or offended at people misunderstanding this season because on one hand it is offensive, but on the other hand, it means only smart people get polin. seriously. your minds have been rotted by insta-love and enemies to lovers that you can't even appreciate the innate beauty of friends to lovers. being friends with someone and then holding all those feelings for them. the trepidation of possible rejection. the fulfillment of being loved by the person who knows you the best of them all. the privilege of loving someone whose feelings you know better than your own. love is gentle and kind and yes it is a violent, uprooting force but above all, love does not hurt anyone. it does not hurt you. i could love someone quietly for years and it wouldn't bother me if their feelings were requited or not because my feelings are none of their business and i consider it a privilege to love and be loved by them, even if it is not in the way i would want it to be. polin are privileged in the highest sense. they know each other better than anyone else, they know how to love each other better than anyone else. to think they are rushed or they dont deserve each other is a disservice to both of them. they would be miserable with anyone else.

in other matters, if i see one more person talking smack about luke or nicola behind the safety of their screens i will personally get a bazooka.

I cannot deal with one more Benophie fan complaining about the lack of Benedict's artistic side in s3.

Aren't you guys supposed to like this character and understand him?

Everyone complains about the show's lack of accountability, continuity, and consequences. But here it is Benedict's artistic plot going through ups and downs for 3 seasons and fans complain!

That was one of my main wishes for s3: NO ART FOR BENEDICT. It had to be this way.

Benedict thought he had entered the Academy by himself, for his talent. He was so happy to have received external validation and Anthony's interference destroyed that. He destroyed his confidence. Of course, he abandoned art. He felt like a fraud.

If Benedict had resumed painting in s3, this scene would have lost meaning and weight:

What would have been the point of this dramatic moment if he would have been fine next season?

In the book, part of Benedict's arc is growing confident in his art. He has been hiding his talent forever (even more than in the show) because he's afraid and Sophie helps him realize he's an artist. The show found a way to show his art since s1, and still follow the book.

This was not the final season, we still have to see HIS season where all of this needs to be resolved. His season is when he needs to regain confidence and share his art with everyone again, thanks to Sophie.

Yes, it was sad to see Benedict holding a newspaper instead of a sketchbook, BUT IT WAS NECESSARY FOR HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!!!

That brief exchange with Paul said everything the audience needed to know about his art in s3:

Paul asks him if he paints (Paul was being a bit of a jerk here, too judgemental just because Ben is part of the ton, but I get it)

How heartbreaking this was!

He couldn't have said 'yes' even if he talked in past tense because Paul would have asked more. 'Why did you give it up?' And what was he supposed to say: 'My brother paid my way into the Academy'? Of course, he said no. The writers did not forget about s1 and s2, they simply were writing a coherent storyline. Benedict's still not over the betrayal and hurt he felt at the end of s2.

In the meantime, Ben has been filling the hole art left in his heart with work during Anthony's honeymoon. Once that is gone, Ben becomes a jerk (I've talked about this in this post after seeing part 1: x) He's extra grumpy and out-of-character but it makes sense narratively because he's frustrated.

It only gets better when he meets Tilley. She is a temporary solution to his frustration. Once he began his affair with her, he went back to his normal, charming self at balls. This is what he does, what he did for 3 seasons. Sex is like a palliative treatment for whatever turmoil he has inside (see how amazingly appropriate this is for Benophie?)

Moreover, Benedict's sexuality needed to be addressed BEFORE his season. Or would you have preferred to do it while Sophie was there?

Thanks to CVD, who refused to address this matter in s2, Jess had to do it in s3. Honestly, Jess did a lot of fixing this season.

This way Benedict is at peace with that part of himself that had been causing so much anxiety since he met Granville. Not only did Tilley offer a momentary escape valve for his frustration, but she helped him accept a part of his identity AND encouraged him to find love. Honestly, the hate she gets from the Benophie fandom is shameful. She did nothing wrong and only helped and supported Benedict. (Plus Luke Thompson loved those scenes, so 🤷‍♀️)

I shouldn't get so upset about other people's opinions, but honestly. These comments come from people who declare to be stans and queens of the fandom. They also have been in a 2-year tantrum and hate campaign against s3, so not really surprised.

It's so funny because if there's one character that has been written exquisitely, it's Benedict. He's the writers' favorite, 100%. Everything he has done makes total sense and prepares him for Sophie.

My expectations were low but holy hell! This Showrunner is awful, the skipping didn't do Polin any favor, they needed TIME to develop the friendship into more and not in like a scene snap, the friends to lovers of the book is well written and believable, this was... NOT. And why does it feel like they weren't the actual leads? Why make it about two leads per season when you write a million subplots?

She is like one of those fans that saw Benedict befriending a gay guy and said oh yes totally bi when CVD said explicitly that the storyline was to show how much he is tolerant about different kinds of love foreshadowing his future HEA. I have NO problem with anyone being queer as long as they don't change their book HEA, (this will be textbook queerbaiting to please a loud annoying internet minority) especially the ones who follow specific struggles, like infertility, not wanting their children to be bastards, the role and dangers of a woman in the working class, etc this leads me to the heartbreaking erasure of the best male written character on the whole Bridgerton series, you are not gender bending, you are erasing a whole book creating a fanfiction of what was the best and more complex Bridgerton book, Francesca married for love, she was completely in love with John and didn't develop feelings for MICHAEL until much later, she erase that, she'll erase the infertility struggle, of course she'll have John's baby, of course, of course it will be a boy who'll inherit the earldom.

And lastly I have no doubt that Jess Brownell will want to butcher TSPWL too... Maybe recast Phillip, maybe erasing him, who knows, but I know Eloise will also suffer from her awful writing.

I held off on watching the new season until it was fully released, but now I just kinda feel meh about it. I kinda wanna see the Polin stuff, but the rest of it sounds so badly written. They were so desperate to get this season out for some reason (out of order of course) and yet they couldn't get out of their own way and still made a mess of everything else. You have to wonder what they cut in that big story they totally axed and what else was cut for time. And a two year wait?!? Although this season was the same. If I were spiteful (which I can be lol) I would watch 33 minutes a month (I did the math) to stretch it out until the next season to mess with the algorithm.

Oh don’t worry, some of the Polin stuff suffers from bad writing as well (for me anyway, I’m so glad if you enjoyed it)

Overall I think the writing felt quite… rushed? Nothing actually gets the chance to fully develop? Everything is resolved so quickly.

Lady Danbury’s 40 year feed with her brother is ended in one single conversation? It’s been 40 years! Give me the tea! Give me every petty grievance you ever had as siblings!

Violet was flip-flopping all over the place all season. Like just… the whole thing felt really inconsistent. The direction felt haphazard at times, we already know about my grievances with the costumes. Like… I can’t believe I’m actually going to say this but Shondaland needs to get down on its knees and beg CVD to come back. At least there was consistent care with the characters then. Not a constant rehashing and flip flopping between people who like and dislike one another.

I love Polly Walker’s portrayal of Portia but i agree. I think so many of these show characters struggle from wanting to address and keep aspects of their book characteristics and then have them make decisions that differ from those for the *drama* or just take other book characters personalities and give them to other show characters omg who said that??

I know Jess B has gotten a lot of hate for changes to s3 (personally her changes at least made sense to me, unlike 90% of what CVD did) so it’s not like I’m looking to add to it. But I do worry about the “consequences” of Whistledown needing to continue following Penelope after her season. If that’s their only way of keeping Nicola on the show and Pen relevant to the plot then I guess? It just feels like continued shaming of Pen for their girlboss-ified LW.

God if I have to watch Pen still be shunned by the Ton can I at least see her and Colin fuck nasty??? Like god where is the hungry boi?? LET HIM EAT (Pen’s) CAKE

polly walker is amazing tbh. like, she just works with whatever they give her, i love her portrayal as portia. yeah, they needed to decide who they wanted these people to be before they just started handing out book personalities when it was going to directly conflict with the show's version of them. a little forethought, if you will.

tbf to jess, she still had to work with what cvd (when i catch you, cvd) left behind for polin. it's a big ask. doing the pen/eloise fight when it doesn't even exist in the books is wild, it's 100% for drama and needed to be handled in s3 so she had that to deal with as well. they did change eloise in s1-2 quite a bit to become the mouthpiece for the modern woman (which is wild bc her brand of feminism comes off so performative--which is probably how a man would write eloise being feminist but that's a whole other issue).

i think LW is more for the audience than anything else at this point. they're used to her narrating and it's good to move the plot forward at times but it's also a huge part of penelope's character so i can see why they kept it. both of them publishing books is great but also they're going to bring in the drama so LW is a very easy way to do that for future subplots.

also yes, 100% it's a fine way to shame penelope for gossip, ha. like girlie printed what she heard--the gossips were already talking she just made cash from it. if she were a dude they'd call it hustling.

sort of hilariously tragic that the audience who hates pen goes online to talk shit with no self-awareness that they're also feeding into the machine they're criticizing on a romance drama show, ha. only then they make it about real people so pretty sure that's worse. but do not tell them, they do not like that.

All of it was a big no for me tbh

The leading couple was predictably boring and underwhelming as hell (which was expected), but the rest of the season felt super meh too.

Kate and Anthony coming and going instead of having an actual arc... to the point of having a heavily pregnant Kate undergoing a long and physically straining journey to India (and by the way no, this wasn't done to phase them out and explain their absence in season 4 because Simone has spoken about coming back next season. So they're literally having them doing express trips to a different continent in under 6 months for no reason). No baby Edmund even though there was time for the Featherington sisters children. Not even a pregnancy announcement to the Bridgerton family, just Violet and Lady D.

Benedict’s “vital” role of the season was apparently whoring around yet again, except this time he's completely forgotten about his art too?? Y’know the one thing that's supposed to be central to his character arc??

Eloise was predictably robbed of any character growth and there wasn't even a proper resolution to her and Penelope’s conflict. She just forgave her overnight for some reason?

The Whistledown reveal had 0 impact or consequences by the Queen even though last season we were led to believe things were so dire Penelope had absolutely no other choice but to out her best friend as a political radical and a fallen woman. We legit didn't even get a reaction by the Bridgerton family when they found out the girl they'd spent their lives treating like family was out there trashing them for years.

Cressida’s arc was underwhelming to the extreme and she was once again reduced to a cartoonish villain for the sake of Penelope's redemption. I also think I officially reached my limit with the Cowper family after season 3 and I hope they don't turn out to be Sophie's family cause I've grown sick of them.

Other than the genderswap I'm not sure how I feel about Francesca’s overall characterisation this season? Yes, book!Frannie was supposed to be different from the rest of her family, in the sense that she wasn't as over-the-top, super dramatic as the rest of the Bridgertons, but she seems to have undergone a complete personality change in the show. Francesca is someone who had her boundaries but she was also easygoing and comfortable and witty around her family and loved ones. CVD gave us a glimpse of that with Ruby’s Francesca but Jess Brownell made her into a painfully shy and socially anxious individual. And that's just not her in the books. Compare her scene of playful banter and flirting with Michael in WHWW to her being practically tongue-tied when she met Michaela.

And of course the elephant in the room, which is her relationship with John. A season of building their love story reduced to Francesca being disappointed by their kiss and falling for another person on their wedding day...That's Jess Brownell's version of bisexuality? Cause frankly it's insulting.

Add to that the atrocious costumes and makeup that make the show feel less than a period drama and more like Hunger Games Capitol cosplay. The entire show just feels off, dull and tedious to get through.

That's not really what I signed up for back in season 1. And like, I see many people jumping to defend the show with the “bridgerton was never historically accurate” argument but that's just bs. We know season 1 wasn't historically accurate! No one is asking for it to be a documentary. But it used to feel like a period drama. Through the costumes, the makeup, the dialogue, the world building. That's just not there anymore. The showrunner change is felt and since she's here for the long run I'm afraid the good days of the show are behind it.

I shudder to think what she's gonna do with Sophie’s character..

i do have some goals for my body - these are majorly rooted in vanity - and that's okay. it's Dora Milaje looking out for me, protecting me from years of being fat shamed by my mother and society. this is why losing weight makes me feel more confident - and that's okay. my weight loss goals are also rooted in nurturing it so it can do the best of all the magic it is capable of. i want to lose fat to

have a healthy metabolism,

balanced hormones,

and healthy skin and nails.

keep my joints healthy

reduce the risk of CVDs

i want to lift heavy, jump, run, climb, be flexible.

i am not my ideal self now - but i am on my journey to it. it feels like it'll never end, on some days it's the hardest thing i do, i fail more often than i'm comfortable with - and it's ok. this is my character arc - and what's a good character arc without some struggle? besides, life is bigger than calories in-calories out, of course it's a struggle.

things i can do to support myself through this struggle:

stay kind when things don't go as planned

make the tough choices easier to make

plan ahead

look deeper, understand more of what drives me and what breaks me

have a little talk with myself before jumping on the indulgence train: be mindful, check in with my emotions, negotiate alternatives that are better for me

prioritise studying: this means letting other people know that i don't have time for some things, making conscious decisions about how i spend my time, showing up at my study table and sitting through the first 20m even when it seems impossible

no scrolling during study breaks: breaks aren't to load up more information on the brain, but to step back and relax. like really relax - stretch, walk, drink water, snack, gaze out the window, pet my babies

movement first thing in the morning is the goal here. to save on time, i'm going to do yoga (my walks end up taking an hour). morning sun, or even just watching the sun come up makes me feel really good, so i want to practice outdoors.

to make this choice easier, i'll keep my mat and water bottle ready to go by my door the previous night.

summer is here - the afternoons are unbearably hot and it's v hard to focus while i'm a sweltering mess. i want to capitalise on evening study hours, so i'm reserving 11 am to 3 pm for working out, chores and cooking. this is also why i'm cutting down yoga to 20m - to make more of the cooler mornings.

can switch up here, like maybe go for a walk in the morning and yoga in the evening.

sad to see my raw veg/fruit goal go - i put it in to make myself come up with more ways to consume them, and i think i've established a good enough menu to tap into for now. i'll incorporate these into my meals, and maybe bring this goal back later when i have the headspace for it.

have social time once/week

do not consume media for more than 2h per day: includes little things like not using my phone until i'm done with morning yoga, not scrolling in between study sessions and not using my phone to deal with a freeze mode T-T

goddd, if not for 75 days, i really hope to see this through for the 56 days to my exam at least. //stress surge// ok, i've got this. everything is ok, i am enough and i am capable of way more than my stressed out self feels rn. i'm not doing anything i don't want to - all of these things are exactly what i want for myself, and it's just my surface brain that's feeling so apprehensive and stressed. once i get into it, it's all going to be fine amazing because let's be honest ok: i love eating healthy and putting thought into my food, i love working out, i fkn love yoga and how good it makes my body feel, i love the deep stillness of meditation, and studying is that exact perfect blend of challenge+something i'm good at that gets me flowing.

Still lots to process, will probably watch the season again this weekend. But I will say as someone who went into the season skeptical of the writers and producers being able to do the these characters justice ( I think we are all a little jaded by S2. Getting rid of CVD was the best decision they eve made) I was happy to be proven wrong. Jess Brownell and team were able to take show characters that were in a different place then their book counterparts, and infuse direct book scenes and quotes in away that felt authentic to the show. I think the show is in good hands going forward 👏���

the way there’s so much to say about how the bridgerton fandom acts towards shonda and even now, jess, the new showrunner, yet CVD (the previous MALE showrunner) got no flack for those first two seasons, season 1 w/ that specific scene between simone and daphne or for season 2, the lack of screentime for kate/anthony or the lack of background for kate or the lack of family/sisterhood…why is it that the two women get the most flack. mind you, they’re on jess’s ass and they have yet to see her season… questioning her decisions because she’s being too vague for them as any showrunner would be and deciding she doesn’t know what she’s doing or it’ll be terrible, ooc writing for everyone when they haven’t seen the season yet…

Yeah these women get way more flack than that man.

I’m personally on the fence about Jess and I admit I don’t like how vague she’s being. However, I believe everyone should be given the chance to prove themselves, so I’m reserving my judgment until I find out if Benedict’s season is next and who is playing Sophie.

I can also kind of see why she’s being vague about the whole thing.

This isn’t Marvel or even GOT, but Benophie is an extremely popular couple. This should’ve been their season and yet they were skipped over in favor of Polin(I’m pretty sure they moved them up because they wanted to throw a white ship in there).

So with that in mind Sophie news might overshadow things and while I’m the furthest thing from a Polin stan it is their season 🤷🏽‍♀️

Furthermore I don’t want that ships stans next year yapping about how they were “wronged” and trying to turn Benophies season into Polin 2.0 so I’m good with the radio silence(for now).

We shall all have our day in the sun(and I can only hope it’s as beautiful as QC cause that’s the gold standard for me).

Now as for Shonda, is she perfect? No, believe me, I have had my gripes with this woman. I have had a love hate relationship with her since 2013(Scandal was a roller coaster).

She is for all intents and purposes kooky. She likes to put her characters through a lot. She can be petty, and clearly has her favorites(Penelope), but some of the accusations thrown her way make 0 sense.

I’m not trying to dismiss anybody and I’m not trying to be insensitive because we all have our faves and we all want them to shine.

My faves(Benophie) were literally skipped over and we still don’t have an exact confirmation they are next, we still don’t know who Sophie is. My second faves might be getting screwed over too(I’m not getting into it, but Francesca deserves her man) so I get it. However, some of you are all the way wrong.

Shonda has made some interesting choices, but people need to give her more credit because the reality is that Bridgerton as it exists in the show wouldn’t have happened without her.

Simon isn’t a Black man. Kate and her family definitely aren’t Indian. Sophie is a white blonde woman. Queen Charlotte isn’t even in the books and if she did exist in them she would be white (like in reality).

Lady Danbury is white. The Stirlings are white Scott’s. The Mondrichs don’t exist. New characters like Harry Dunkworth and Lord Samadani do not exist and if they did they wouldn’t be part Asian or Persian.

I can imagine that in the furture Lucy will be played by a non-white woman(if y’all want an Asian lead it’s her) and Gareth will at least be biracial(he’s Lady Danburys grandson). In the books both are white.

Hell, Penelope’s glow up consists of her getting skinner so even Nicola doesn’t fully embody her book counterpart.

Gay people are barely touched upon(no disrespect but this is why turning these ships into queer romances won’t work) and the books as a whole are mediocre at best.

It will never be perfect, but Shonda and co. have managed to turn something no different than all the rest of these crappy regency romance books into a highly entertaining diverse show. It’s because of her vision that Bridgerton is as colorful as it is and might I argue has provided a platform for things like Mr. Malcolm’s List and The Davenports to be greenlit.

I dont want to praise this show and the creators too much, and yes there are problems with Bridgerton (for me it’s the lack of monoracial Black leads getting their HEA which is why I hope Masali is indeed Sophie), but the hate at this time is a bit much.

Don't worry, this isn't an OC. It's actually my redesign for Aki! Honestly I didn't even really change her that much, I just made her like 10% more goth lmao. Anyway I spent way too long designing this outfit so [gently grabs viewer like a squeaky toy] I'm gonna talk about it.

Long rant under the cut, so if you don't wanna read it feel free to scoot lmao.

We all know Aki's outfit, right? Very Victorian-inspired, but with a short pencil skirt and garters. I wanted to keep that same vibe, since I'm a firm believer in letting people wear what they want without judgement. However, I also know that Aki was designed by someone, since she's a character in a story and thus has no actual agency over her own design. Also, she's canonically 16 in season 1, and I really don't like the trend in mid-00s anime to sexualize teenage girls. Hell, it's not like the trend has stopped either, it's still happening! [pointed glance at momo yaoyorozu]

So what I did instead was take a lot of inspiration from gothic lolita fashion, as well as steampunk. Since lolita was first created to be as far from the image of the "ideal woman" as possible, it felt like a good starting point for what I wanted. Same with the corset, I personally believe corsets aren't inherently sexual, so all I did there was give her some little sleeves and a neckline lmao. Beyond that, I just added makeup and piercings.

The makeup was inspired by both corpse paint and visual kei makeup, as well as CV Dazzle, which is the act of using makeup to trick facial recognition. However, CVD is actually deprecated now, since the algorithm it was designed to trick has been improved. Also, I just think it's neat lmao.

I didn't put this in the info since technically in the story we don't know this is Aki yet, but did you know her canonical weight is 43 kilograms? Even at 163 cm, that's very underweight. The healthy weight for a person of that height is between about 44.6 kg and 65.4 kg. That's 94.8 pounds at 5'4 for my American readers, with the healthy weight between 98.3 and 144.2 lbs. For reference, I put Yusei, who's supposed to be malnourished and visibly underweight, at 58 kg for 175 cm (or 128 lbs at 5'7). So uh......I put some meat on her bones lmao. My AU, my rules. She's 54.2 kg now, or 119.5 lbs. A much healthier weight!

JB was granted permission from the Bridgerton production to pursue these big projects his fans are boasting about. If you look back that courtesy was not given even to PD. She had to complete her obligations to the production and otherwise filmed her projects in the breaks. It's why she unfollowed Bridgerton as soon as s2 came out and her obligations were finished. JB was filming throughout the Bridgerton production and his other projects were given priority. Mind you not every cast member was given that luxury. Even NC with all the favoritism she got, she had to conclude the season before doing other projects. Luke Thompson had to come back for filming as his previews were beginning for his play. JB missing also limited Simone from pursuing any big productions during s3. You can excuse Anthony missing from certain scenes, but his new Viscountess missing from the majority of the season in a show called Bridgerton?

On top of the fact that JB was allowed to do his play while Simone kept promoting s2 in the US while he already moved on. If anything he used Bridgerton as a way to bring more attention to his play with it premiering at the same time. Look at the QC leads, especially the black women who are not given opportunities even though their performances were praised.

The difference between him taking time to be available for FT promo is jarring. And it's something I will hate forever. Him not to consider Simone when she was being left out of s2 cast pictures, her getting her due on set. His actions have spoken loudly.

THIS is is what I meant when I said I don’t think he was a good costar to Simone and people started to send me death treaths and call me homophobic. You explained it so eloquently, thank you. At the end of the day he used Bridgerton and the straight character he played as a golden ticket to fame, didn’t he say he basically accepted everything before he auditioned for Simon? He doesn’t give a fuck about Kanthony, no matter how much his fans say they contrary, that’s why he was done with it the moment they finished the shooting and that’s why he couldn’t give a fuck about promoting s2 or talking with his friends like Shonda Rhimes, Tom Verica and CVD about why so much of Kanthony was happening offscreen . He got the power to do something about it and didn’t. Kanthony is a straight couple after all, it’s kind of obvious the energy he gave to FT and his love story there is veeeery different.

All the things you mention about him getting preferential treatment and screwing Simone over is the reason why my stomach lurches every time I see his cult of fans fake crying about evil Shondaland refusing to promote him. It’s not that they didn’t it’s the fact that he didn’t want to. It’s different. I’ve been called racist for pointing out certain shady stuff but what are they since they like to say him and Simone were equally treated like shit by that production? Honest to god I will feel disgusted by this forever
