I wholeheartedly believe that Bakugo never calls off of work when he’s sick, and he’s stubborn as hell about it. He could be hacking up a lung, running a fever, sneezing every other minute and still haul his ass to work.

When Bakugo’s an intern/sidekick fresh out of UA at his first agency, his mentor demands he goes home to rest the one or two times a year he’s too sick to function.

“Dynamight, go home. You’re not at your best, go sleep it off. One day isn’t gonna kill ya to make sure you’re in top shape.”

The first time it happens when you’re together is both comical and frustrating. Bakugo devolves from a twenty something and into the equivalent of the child who refuses to drink the grape flavored medicine, claiming he doesn’t need “artificial shit” to feel better. In the same breath, he’s physically sweating buckets and can’t go without coughing for more than a few minutes at a time.

You have to force him to take a hot shower, standing in the bathroom with him to be sure he doesn't pass out. He complains the whole time, but Bakugo doesn't stop you from caring for him. He kinda likes that you don't need him to ask for help, you just do it on your own.

A bowl of soup, plenty of meds and a full tissue box later, he's snuggled up in your lap, passed out under a blanket peacefully.

You save the "I told you so" conversation for the next day, but for now, you let him rest.

Dazai loves eye contact he savors every little microsecond of gazing at you bc he knows you squirm from being perceived and can't hold it as long as he does.

he loves to say the most lewd things to your face and when you have to literally look away from the sheer embarrassment he gently turns your chin to face him again and smirks at you because he knows he pushed the right buttons to mess you up.

"You need to stop biting your lip so much, it's distracting, you know. I may have to call out of work to process this turmoil of emotions you're putting me through. I demand compensation~"

"It's a habit, Osamu, it's hard not to."

this just makes him whine like a little kid, huffing and puffing but slowly trickling his eyes down to your bottom lip as if in a trance. checking you out mid-tantrum is his specialty.

"But it only makes me wanna bite it instead. Like, soooo badlyyyyy..."

then you do it again, you break the rules and avert your eyes like you always do. don't you know you can never escape the watchful eye of the one who adores you the most? how naughty! sexy as hell

"You think me biting the dead skin off my lip is hot...?"

this causes him to reach out and pull your face back to him with a gentle but insistent hand as he begins to rub your bottom lip with his thumb in featherlike strokes. he mumbles, eyes dilating from a hunger he always fails to hide from you. why would he? you're just too much for the senses, and he doesn't know if he wants to kiss you or swallow you whole.

"No, but I think you looking me in the eye while I flirt with you is fucking lovely."

Reminder to get your COVID booster when they're available. I kept putting off my next dose because of my schedule, and I've been out with COVID for eight days now.

Posting the symptoms I had to inform others as COVID is constantly evolving:

Day 1 (3 or 4 days after exposure): started as a feeling of "imminent sickness" in the back of my throat. I otherwise felt 100%.

Day 2: Extremely tired. Congestion. Limited all contact.

Day 3: 101 Fever. Congestion. Extremely tired. Couldn't make it through lecturing my class (remotely). Began medicating with Theraflu (acetaminophen). Tested positive for COVID with the fastest and clearest positive test I've ever seen.

Day 4: Fever between 99 and 101.5. Cancelled all activity. Spent all day in bed. Extreme congestion. Extreme aches & chills at night. This day was absolutely miserable. My friend brought me soup. I cried about it. Continued with Theraflu. Considered going to the ER due to severity of symptoms.

Day 5: Intermittent low-grade fever at 99.8. Congestion continued, coughing and sneezing began.

Day 6: Fever cleared. Coughing & sneezing intensified. Tested again as per CDC recommendations: still a strong positive. Began taking Robitussin (cough syrup only, no acetaminophen).

Day 7: Coughing worsened significantly. Lots of liquids, lots of Robitussin.

Day 8: Today! No fever, no cough, some slight congestion remains. Once again tested positive for COVID-- with a weaker positive this time! I expect I'll be back to normal by day 10, but... trust me, if you're going to get your "booster" through a needle or ten days of this, choose the booster! it wasn't quite a dream, but more a rambling thought as i was falling asleep, but, was a cardinal like Machete ever asked to officiate weddings? I dont even know if thats a thing cardinals would be asked to do, much less had the personal for that kind of thing, but imagine being asked by a major political hardcore catholic family to do so and only accepting because you know your secret boyfriend is also attending as a political figure and you get to almost secret pretend its your twos wedding

I'm actually not sure, I've never thought about it. He'd definitely have the full rights to officiate weddings, you don't lose the eligibility to perform sacraments when you get elevated from an ordinary priest to a bishop and then a cardinal. But I think once you get into these high positions you kind of grow out of the priestly role and spend less time doing ground-level work. I imagine that weddings of important nobles and royalty were likely presided over by bishops and cardinals.

The scenario is endearing so I choose to believe that it could've happened.
