tobiizu actors au where they play like, the secondary villain (Tobirama) and the co-lead (izuna) in an extremely popular movie. they seem really respectful if distant during the promotional stuff, and deliver an electric and powerful performance with great chemistry within the movie. perfectly normal stuff. they're honestly heavily overshadowed by the lead villain + hero (hashirama and madara) both in fan content and in promotional interest.

then the dvd extras come out which include deleted scenes with some directors commentary, including an extended version of the main scene between tobirama & izunas characters. as the director hikaku explains before the clip plays, a huge portion of what was cut was on-set improv between the pair.

hikaku: yeah, it was really good, really impressive stuff, showed a great understanding of the characters. unfortunately when it was time for editing we just couldn't make it....

hikaku: uh. how do i put this. we couldn't keep it in the movie because it was intensely sexually charged and it got weird.

and then the clip plays and everyone sees his point. what the fuck were these guys on when filming this. this actually makes how normal they are during the press tour way more confusing, how do you unscripted choke a man while sitting in his lap for a scene and then go around like you're just coworkers

when asked about it in future interviews their response is a very polite "i respect his work as an actor, would love to work with him again. i don't see anything unusual about the scene and you guys are reading too much into it." so basically they're both fucking liars and everyone knows it

I think that Charles and Edwin's first kiss would be so casual and smooth. They're just chatting, laughing, close together, volleying quips back and forth until the eye contact sticks, Charles doesn't even wait for a pause in their conversation, probably cuts Edwin off right in the middle of his sentence leaning in purely spurred by sincere want, and they kiss. And Edwin doesn't even have time to close his eyes or stop smiling before Charles is pulling away but only the smallest amount, to laugh softly under his breath because it's comical how long this took, how he didn't see it earlier on, how he could have possibly ever been unsure. Edwin is speechless, frozen, eyes wide and searching for confirmation, just waiting for Charles to return the oxygen to his lungs. They meet eyes again and Charles grins and it says everything, Edwin can't help but return the smile, ducking his head, touching their foreheads. And then they're falling back into it, lips meeting again, Charles smoothing down Edwin's shoulders as he has done so many times before, Edwin's hands moving to Charles' collar. It's an all-encompassing thing, entirely new and yet so familiar because it's them.

I don’t think, as a fandom, we talk about Bucky and Steve fighting in one of the most gruesome and fucked up wars the modern world has seen enough (ontop of being raised by fathers who fought in the one before it)

While yes, they deserve and should be written as characters with PTSD because of what they do on the avengers/as the winter soldier/being placed in a whole new world without a say

We should also be writing them as characters who have fought in WWII and seen some fucking shit (Omaha beach, the bombs in Japan, people who where imprisoned at the concentration camp, their friends dying right next to them, helping out in the trenches, watching people loose a leg or arm, etc etc)

Ontop of this, bucky (in the comics and I think one of the cartoons) joined the army when he was like 17/18 years old. A fucking kid.

We should write more PTSD scenes of the two having flashbacks relating to WWII and not only the things I mentioned before

I am sure this was brought up before but there is no fucking way Lorelai had ever met guys like Jess before. Not a chance. When would she meet them? And where? She went from living in a privileged WASP-y bubble of one percenters to living in Stars Hollow, which is a very safe town where stealing a garden gnome and drawing a chalk outline on the sidewalk is considered the biggest and most dangerous crime ever. Essentially she went from one safe and cushy place to another and never lived in a dangerous and crime-ridden place like New York, so where would she meet a guy like Jess?

I think she probably misunderstood Jess and how fucked up his life was exactly. Like even in her own privileged bubble she grew up in, she must have met rebellious guys, but that is a Logan type of rebellion. That is: "ugh my parents are making me go to private school and boarding school in Switzerland, and then to an Ivy League so that I can later get a boring job in finance like they did, I hate them" kind of problems, not: "my father abandoned me, my mother is drunk, my stepfather of the day stole all my money and I don't know how we're going to pay the bills this month" kind of problems.

And don't even get me started on "I know what it's like to be misunderstood by your parents" boo hoo Lorelai, your parents were mad because you got pregnant at 15, that's not the same as Jess's parents just abandoning him for no reason other than they just don't feel like being parents.
