In the coming month, a blanket of snow settled over Moonwood Mill. It was the first snowfall the Scholl family experienced in their new house. The crops went into dormancy and there were suddenly not as many chores that had to be done.
The house was drafty and cold so they used the fireplace to the highest capacity. As winter became more prominent, it was difficult to be outdoors. Mostly, the family chose to stay in most of the time and tried to come up with different activities to keep the children busy. The living room quickly became the place where they spent most of their time - with the fire making it the warmest room in the house.

This band has a folder in the city of Berlin records, this 👉 👈 thick, just for their name changes 😆
Hi 👋
Hm, let's see, there surely was a lot going on in the name-changing department 😅
Richard has really been busy:
changing his first name from 'Sven' to 'Richard' (the first name of his dad)
changing 'Sven' to 'Zven' (maybe for the ✨coolness factor✨, or Richard Zee Kay sounds better than Richard Es Kay 👀, or to even further distance himself from his given birthname)
changing his last name from 'Kruspe' to 'Kruspe-Bernstein' after his wedding and then back to 'Kruspe' after the divorce
Paul no less, changing his whole name-identity:
interchanging his first name 'Heiko' with his middle name 'Paul'
casually keeping the last name of his ex-wife 'Landers' and leaving his last name 'Hiersche' behind
Flake, who nobody calls by his first name:
he didn't change his name officially, yet used his nickname 'Flake' (which he has since his childhood I believe) since forever, seldomly using his first name 'Christian'
Regarding nicknames we also have Schneider being oftentimes only adressed by his last name and Richard was oftentimes called 'Scholle' by his band mates (his nickname from his childhood which his father gave him') in the earlier days.
Apart from this we have some more peculiar name incidents:
Rammstein called themselves 'Templeprayers' in the very early days of their existence when they recorded their first demo tape (at least they didn't use their band name ideas 'Milch', 'Erde' or 'Mutter' as mentioned here 👀)
Flake and Schneider to this day are still represented in every official booklet (in albums, DVDs, etc.) with additional nicknames: 'Doctor' Flake Lorenz and Christoph 'Doom' Schneider
Till and Oliver/Ollie stayed pretty clear from changing anything regarding their names and are just referred by their names or in Oliver's case 'Olli'. Apart from an occasional 'Orgien-Olli' here and there 😅

"Masters of the Air detail- Part 4-The Lemmons magneto scene E4.
"Apple released one scene with Master Sgt. Lemmons, the Crew Chief, and the rest appeared recently in E4.
"He had an engine problem that they were troubleshooting just before the engine start for the mission. Lemmons actually rode in the gear well of number 3 fixing the engine, as the Fortress taxied out on three engines.
"Cary, the director for the first four episodes, was asking about what Lemmons could be fixing and wanted to know if various things were plausible. One was changing a carburetor, uh, no. It’s not only a massive job but doesn’t fit with Lemmons riding in the gear well. I suggested working on a magneto, as just about the only things that you can get to, through the access panel in the firewall on a B-17, are the magnetos and the starter.
"Okay he said, can we change the magneto? Uh, no, not within the confines of this scene and taxiing out to takeoff. How about setting the magneto points as it would fit the timeline, look good and would be plausible. He said to set it up. Okay, off we go.
"Edit- I did not have access to Lemmons book or John Orloff’s notes at the time this scene was being discussed. Soon after Jessica was kind enough to give me a copy of Lemmons book and it said that he indeed did adjust the magneto points from inside of the gear well.
"I talked to Stewart Heath from BGI. A guy who can, and did, make miracles happen. We talked about the magneto, and I showed him what it and the B-17 accessory section looked like through the firewall opening. He was also going to build a B-17 engine nacelle for this scene!
"I said that almost any radial engine magneto would work and that I could source one if he needed. He said go so I contacted Carl Scholl at Aerotrader in California and asked if he had a mag for a Curtis Wright R1820. Of course he did! And he shipped it off to us in the UK. Thanks Carl.
"Stewart made the nacelle and a box housing the real mag, a dummy mag and starter. It was painted black and looked pretty good on camera.
"Raff Law is the actor who portrayed Sgt. Lemmons. He and I sat down with the ‘accessory box’ and I taught him how to look like he was setting up and adjusting the points on a magneto.
"I pictured the original WWII radial engine feeler gauge tool, with the bent ends, in my toolbox back home and hoped that Props Department may have something close. They supplied some nice period tools and Raff learned what he needed to do on the table at our “office”. Next was time for him to practice in the nacelle that Stewart and BGI built.
"During the building of the nacelle the oil tank was a topic of discussion. I gave them some photos, especially of the stenciling which could be visible and they, as usual, did a wonderful job.
"The nacelle was set up for the scene and the video walls were set up underneath the nacelle. Incidentally the wheels and tires used on MOTA were actual un-airworthy B-17 wheels and tires from the Collings Foundation. Some of you Collings pilots might recognize the flat spots on the tires!! It is cool to see some actual B-17 parts that flew a lot and made it into the series. We will not talk about the tread pattern though will we…
"Several camera angles set up in and around the nacelle and really looked good and helped to convey just how difficult it must have been for Sgt. Lemmons to accomplish what he did. Amazing for sure. I only hope that the Lemmons family is happy with the result.
"So much was put into making this and every scene as rich and authentic as possible that it is a shame that so many of these details didn’t make the final cut. But that’s the way this business is, it’s better to have too much and cut things out than to have too little and the need for more. MOTA was way up on the quality and detail and doing it with all of this specialized aircraft equipment is many times more difficult to do than most other subjects. Well done folks! So many people behind the scenes going above and beyond to make this special [...]"
#better too much than too little. i'm Always saying this btw#masters of the air#hbo war#behind the scenes#history#(given the amount of detail about lemmons in this)#long post#raff law#ken lemmons

so i started my first day at my new job yesterday
i really liked my trainers. they seem so nice. they've been there for like 2-5 years. my team coach is pretty chill too. it's a lot of standing though, and in the morning its super busy. i hear sundays and weekends are the busiest days, and it get bad (with the dumbassery too). i work at the front end, so im mostly always on registers, or maybe putting away returns. remind me to invest in some dr scholl's because the soles of my feet will be screaming. at least i get BREAKS. i will def be getting in walking distances in. otherwise this job isnt as scary as i heard about. i just gotta get on with people and cause no troubles~ i think i saw other people worked at this company too, so i wonder if your experiences are different from mine?

Title: All I want for Christmas is you Pairing: Richard Z. Kruspe / Till Lindemann Presentee: @1980shairbands Prompt: Christmas music Warnings/Tags: getting together | flirting | obvious Richard Word Count: 2.343 Summary: Till is in love with someone and Richard really wants to know who it is. He feels like he knows the person from Till’s descriptions. Read on AO3: here
♪
Richard is feeling kinda nervous.
It’s just a normal day at the studio, but something is off. It’s not even because they have a certain deadline to meet or anything but all the band members have left for some activities today. Expect one. Means Richard is left alone with Till and that never ends well.
Sometimes Richard thinks that Till is actually flirting with him, but he’s never really sure about it, because he would wish for nothing more and that is kinda the problem. Maybe it's just wishful thinking?
Right now Richard is sitting in front of the TV, trying to be really busy, even though only the news program is on. Of course that’s when Till walks in. He looks so damn good and Richard hastily looks away.
“Hey Scholle.”
“Hey Tilly,” Richard answers, but otherwise ignores him. If he gave Till his attention, he would for sure find a way to make this awkward again with his flirting and Richard doesn’t do awkward. Or at least he tries.
“Mind if I sit down?” Till asks and Richard shakes his head. He busies himself with his cup of coffee and Till sits down on the couch. Not directly next to Richard, but still very close. Richard kinda wants to squirm in his seat.
Luckily, for the next few minutes Till actually watches TV as well. Richard is already bored. He could play on his guitar, she’s lying next to him, but if he moves Till would probably start again.
“Richard?” Till mutters, when there is another commercial.
“Hm?” Richard hums and tries to concentrate on the screen.
“Have you ever been in love?” Till asks and this time he has Richard’s attention. Another weird question. It never gets old, huh?
“Sure,” Richard says shortly and when he looks at his best friend, Till frowns. Richard is a bit surprised at that reaction. Till knows all his ex-girlfriends, so why does he seem so weird about it now.
“Hm,” Till says and somehow Richard actually wants to talk about it now.
“I mean... you do know them, you remember that right? You watched me marry some of them. And… you know that I often fall easily and hard in love,” Richard explains and then shrugs awkwardly in the end.
Till raises both eyebrows and then nods. He has a tiny smile on his face and Richard feels himself smiling, when he sees that. He regrets most of his relationships but he knows that often enough he’d be happy during them.
“Oh yeah I remember,” Till answers, sounding as if he hates every single one of Richard’s relationships and Richard snorts. Like hard same. Looking back it hadn’t always been the best decision.
“Why are you asking? You never fell in love before?” Richard says and somehow his heart squeezes awfully in his chest. Maybe Till fell in love with the concept of love but never really fell for someone? He had relationships before but they never lasted long and Till never really seemed happy. Richard rubs over his chest and watches Till carefully.
“Oh, I did,” Till just says and then just looks back at the TV.
“Care to elaborate?” Richard asks and it sounds way more gruff, than he intended to. He feels betrayed because Till had never told him something like this. He had just said that he often wanted some fun. But now Richard feels jealous. Angry. Hurt. Even though he knows he has no right to feel that way.
“What do you want to know?” Till asks back and he leans more into the couch. Richard frowns.
“When?” Richard asks again and Till sighs. He nods and then looks at his hands in his lap. Doesn’t seem like he is really happy about it. Maybe the girl had broken his heart?
“Years ago,” Till admits and Richard swallows. Right. He feels kinda hurt that his best friend never told him about that before.
“But? She didn’t like you?” Richard asks and Till shrugs.
“It wasn’t a woman,” Till just says and then he gets up. For a moment Richard believes Till will just leave him like that, but instead Till goes to the small fridge in the corner and takes out another bottle of beer. When he offers Richard one, he shakes his head. He still has his coffee.
“I didn’t know you like guys too. I mean good for you,” Richard says and his voice sounds so fake, even to his own ears. Richard is still bad at admitting to other people that he is bisexual himself. He made peace with this ages ago, but around other people he is still wary.
“Gender doesn’t matter to me, Richard,” Till says when he sits back down and Richard nods. This is even worse now. That means Richard could have a chance with him, but at the same time it means, if Till doesn’t want him, it wouldn’t be because of his gender, but because Till doesn’t like his personality or whatever.
“So then, tell me about your...love. Why do you like him out of all people, if you could have anyone?” Richard whispers and he doesn’t even know why he asks that. Seems like he does love torture. Torturing himself. Richard leans even more back away from Till now, ready for another heartbreak.
“There are many reasons. I fell in love with his eyes, every single time he looks at me I can barely hold myself back. Sometimes I get so lost in his eyes that I can’t focus on anything else,” Till admits and he looks at Richard, just for a second.
Richard frowns.
“He undresses you with his eyes, huh?” Richard tries to grin, but he isn’t sure if it actually looks like a smile. It feels more like a grimace. He can’t believe that he’s already getting jealous over this.
“Sometimes it feels like it,” Till says and he laughs a bit. Richard blushes, he hopes that Till doesn’t see how he undresses him with his eyes sometimes.
Dammit.
“Gross,” Richard presses out and Till chuckles.
“I fell in love with the way he smiles, when he thinks nobody’s watching,” Till continues and Richard nods. He knows what that's like. Every so often, when Till is really happy and laugh loudly, Richard can’t look away. Every single time he feels as if he is falling in love with Till again.
“So, he is really good looking, hm?” Richard wants to know and Till winks at him.
“He is, but that’s not what I love the most about him. Sometimes I feel like he knows how good he looks and he plays with it especially when lots of people are watching him. Other times he feels insecure,” Till explains and Richard automatically sucks in his stomach.
He understands that guy. Normally Richard feels good in his body too. On stage he loves to show off… but sometimes he eats too many sweets and gets angry at himself for that.
“What makes him so special, then?” Richard asks anyway and he takes another sip of his coffee. He deserves this comfort now.
“I fell in love with his commitment to his work, the way he puts his heart into every task. But he really enjoys his work,” Till says and Richard raises his eyebrows. Seems like the guy has some serious problems with his time management. Maybe he should take a break, if he does so much for every single task.
“Workaholic?” Richard asks and Till snorts.
“Yeah, you could say that. I wish he would take breaks more often, because he really deserves them, but he never does,” Till explains and Richard is lost in his own thoughts again. He kinda feels overworked as well. Recording and touring always take a lot of him, even though he enjoys it a lot.
“Maybe you need to force him,” Richard says quietly and looks back at the TV. There’s another show starting that he had never seen before, but he is glad that there is some noise in the background.
“Yes, but I also fell in love with the way he takes care of his family and his friends. He puts everyone else’s needs and wellbeing over his own,” Till says and this time he looks at Richard while saying it. Richard can’t look away for a second.
“Family is important,” Richard chokes out and Till nods.
“And it doesn’t end in blood. You taught me that, Richard. You always said to all of us that this band could be our new family. That we would always be welcomed here,” Till says and he says it so determined, that Richard feels the need to confirm it.
“Yeah. You’re all family to me, Till,” Richard whispers. He had the thought more than once, that he wishes for Till to be more than that. He doesn’t want him as a brother or something. He wants to be Till’s everything. Richard never imagined that there could be someone so important in his life, but Till changed that. Richard looks away.
“I fell in love with his love for music. He likes rock music, really good bands and when he sings for his own band or along to his favorite songs I feel like I’m in my own personal heaven. We even sang along together a few times,” Till says and this time it’s a lot quieter. Richard doesn’t dare to look at him.
“Rock, hm? Sounds more like my dream guy,” Richard answers and he doesn’t even realize that Till gasps at him. Maybe he shouldn’t have said that. Now Till could believe that Richard likes guys too and maybe finds out about his crush on him. That would be horrible.
“I do believe you’d like him,” Till chuckles then and Richard shrugs with his left shoulder. Well he would pretend to like the guy, if he is that important to Till. He would still hate him for stealing Till from him though.
“Maybe. So he plays in a band too? Also a singer?" Richard simply asks, since he doesn’t want to fight with Till over this. He wishes he never made Till talk about his crush. This sucks a lot.
“Yeah he is. You should see one of his music videos. They’re so great. Oh and I fell in love with his love for his guitars, how he treats them as his most precious possessions,” Till continues and this time Richard frowns. These are actually a lot of coincidences. If he didn’t know better, he would think…
Richard shakes his head.
“Yeah? Does his guitar play better than mine?” Richard answers and Till shakes his head.
“No, I don’t think there exists a guitar more beautiful than your RZK II,” Till says and Richard nods. Damn right. He would be the winner in this kind of race. Maybe the other guy would get Till, but at least Richard can say that he has the best sounding and designed guitars (no matter what Paul says).
“Exactly,” Richard says proudly and Till snorts.
“What else can I say? I fell in love with his obsession for nail polish. I even like the way he’s holding his cigarettes. And don’t get me started on his eyeshadow,” Till says and Richard is still so close, watching him.
Richard opens his mouth and closes it again. Till licks his lips.
“Nail polish?” Richard mouths and Till nods. Richard’s whole body feels as if it’s on fire. The blush is back on his face and Till’s gaze focuses on his lips. Richard can’t help but lick over them.
“Yeah, there is nothing he loves more and he looks so good with it. Always had. I remember the first time he showed me his nails, he’d been so proud. I fell in love with him that day,” Till answers and Richard shakes his head. He understands now, but he is still a bit unsure. Is Till really serious about this or is he making a joke?
“I bet there is someone he loves more,” Richard whispers and Till’s green eyes widen a bit at that. Richard smiles a bit shyly, it seems like Till is really talking about him. Richard wants to jump up and scream it into the world. He wants to sit on Till’s lap and stay there forever.
He doesn’t do anything. He waits.
“M-maybe you are right,” Till says and he stutters, when Richard smiles at him. Richard can’t help it and he feels better now that Till also seems a bit shy about it.
“I feel like I am. He could never resist you. He loves you way too much for that,” Richard says and while it’s not the confession he had dreamed of, he needs Till to understand this. Richard needs him too. Richard loves him too.
“You think so?” Till asks and he carefully puts his hand on Richard’s shoulder. Richard frowns. What is Till doing? But Till just keeps looking at him.
“Yeah what else has he to do so you’d kiss him? Sing you a Christmas song? All I want for Christmas is you?” Richard says and he’s so damn nervous. Till seems to think about that for a moment, before he shakes his head.
Too bad Richard had wanted to sing that to him for a very long time.
“There was another song he’d already written for me. Maybe I had been too dumb to understand it at that time,” Till says and Richard’s heart squeezes in his chest. Maybe they both had been idiots all this time.
“What song?” Richard whispers and this time Till leans closer. They’re again just watching each other. Richard really wants to finally feel these lips on his own. Wants to feel what it’s like to be Till’s.
“Let’s go,” Till whispers.
Richard kisses him.
*
Six days later Richard does sing “All I want for Christmas is you” to Till underneath the christmas tree.
It doesn’t matter that he already has him.
Not when he’s being kissed like that again.

Frank do you think that I should drop out of college and just become a stripper? Cause scholl is really kicking my ass and I don't know how much longer I can take it
What are your thoughts Frank?
Sorry, I'm busy tomorrow so I might not get to this until then, but I think you should get to know what it's like to become a stripper (which isn't at all a "stripper job," it's really more like a job than a job).
It's not what it sounds like, and it's worth doing. It's really useful to a lot of people, to figure out what they're good at. It's how I figured out I liked science and math, in particular. It's good for self-awareness, too -- you develop a sense of "what it means to do a job well." I've known lots of people who have discovered something very different and good about their lives once they have a stripper job. Not everyone will, obviously, but I bet some will.
Even if you don't find out about what you're really good at, it's important to know yourself in the abstract and that type of self-awareness is a virtue in its own right. You know how it is when you have the sense you could "be doing anything" but you feel trapped in your skin? There's a reason it's bad to have that feeling all the time, but you don't know it until you have it. Having that feeling of "I could do anything" will not get you everything you need from life, but you should not have it all the time. Stripping will make it feel as though you have been freed from the shackles of your life, in a way that doesn't require you to be in your skin all the time. For most people it's much easier to be in your skin when you're working, and it becomes harder when you're not. Knowing how your mind works in the abstract can be helpful, too, even if it doesn't provide any particular job. If you know something will make life easier, it is a good idea to know it, as you would have to.
I don't want to talk up stripping because I like it, because it's great if you do, but I don't want you to say "I could be a stripper if I wanted" just because it sounds like it will help you with your life, because it wouldn't. Strip Clubs are very different from what you are imagining -- there are probably not a lot of "stripper" internships or part-time jobs that are really good and that you would like.
If you drop out, you will not feel like you are "freed" from something. There are not many ways you are "freed" from a college class -- the only thing more freeing from a college class would be dropping out and dropping in.
(This is part of why I think you should drop out. It's an unusual case where the path you are on is almost guaranteed to be less valuable than a better one.)

Cameron Scholl Highland Film Group June 7th Blog 3
Hello everyone, today I would like to talk about the work I did this week at Highland film group, not much has changed. I still do stuff like sitting at the front desk, answering calls, cleaning up around the place, and doing script summaries. Something different about this week of work was that all the interns were there so it was much easier to do work. For example we all take turns being at the front desk so it’s easier to do the main job that we have to do which is script summarizing. We also all take turns cleaning up anything messed up in the office so that is nice. We also all get to sit in on the Thursday meetings which is pretty cool. In these meetings they usually talk about what films they are going to make next and what scripts they are going to film. The coolest things about these meetings is the fact that they sometimes bring up the script summary that you made and ask about what you think of the film. Also if you can’t show up to work on Thursdays they will let you join the meeting by zoom. Another great thing about work this week was all the scripts I have read. I can’t say what any of the scripts were about but I can say that I have enjoyed reading all of them and I think a lot of the scripts are going to make great films. One thing I have learned a lot about while being in the office is the budgets of film when you are making one. For example while I’m sitting in the office, a lot of the higher ups have been talking about how the have to change a part of the script in the third act because they can’t afford to do the original scene in the script. And I just think that it is so cool to learn that you have to change your script for budgetary reasons sometimes. Also I just found out this week that our office is dog friendly so there are always 3 or 4 dogs running around the office which I think is pretty cool. Sometimes when we get to take brakes from doing script summaries we get to play fetch with the dogs. The last thing that happened this week was I got to interview one of the workers at Highland film group and it was really cool to learn more about her and learn more about the job she does at the company. Overall I had a great week at work and I am excited for next week and excited to learn more about the film business.

NIS2 is coming - why you should act now - CyberTalk
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/nis2-is-coming-why-you-should-act-now-cybertalk/
NIS2 is coming - why you should act now - CyberTalk
By Patrick Scholl, Head of Operational Technology, Infinigate
NIS2 – the Network and Information Security Directive – is a revision of the NIS Directive, which came into force in 2016, with the aim of strengthening cyber security resilience across the EU.
The revision tightens reporting requirements and introduces stricter control measures and enforcement provisions. By October 17th 2024, the NIS2 Directive will be a requirement across all EU member states. Despite the urgency, businesses still have many questions.
Distributors like Infinigate are committed to supporting the implementation of NIS2 by offering a broad choice of cyber security solutions and services in collaboration with vendors, such as Check Point.
Supporting NIS2 implementation
In Germany, as an example, NIS2UmsuCG, the local directive governing the implementation of the EU NIS2 to strengthen cyber security, is already available as a draft and defines EU-wide minimum standards that will be transferred into national regulation.
It is estimated that around 30,000 companies in Germany will have to make changes to comply. However, thus far, only a minority have adopted the measures mandated by the new directive. Sometimes, symbolic measures are taken with little effect. In view of the complexity of the NIS2 requirements, the short time in which they are to be implemented and the need for holistic and long-term solutions, companies need strong partners who can advise on how to increase their cyber resilience.
Who is affected?
The NIS2 directive coming into force in autumn 2024 will apply to organisations across 18 sectors with 50 or more employees and a turnover of €10 million. Additionally, some entities will be regulated regardless of their size — especially in the areas of ‘essential’ digital infrastructure and public administration.
The following industry sectors fall under the ‘essential’ category:
Energy
Transport
Banking and finance
Education
Water supply
Digital infrastructure
ICT service management
Public administration
Space exploration and research
Postal and courier services
Waste management
Chemical manufacturing, production and distribution
Food production, processing and distribution
Industry & manufacturing (medical devices and in-vitro, data processing, electronics, optics, electrical equipment, mechanical engineering, motor vehicles and parts, vehicle manufacturing)
Digital suppliers (marketplaces, search engines, social networks)
Research institutes
It’s worth bearing in mind that NIS2 regulations apply not only to companies, but also their contractors.
Good to know: The “size-cap” rule
The “size-cap” rule is one of the innovations that come with NIS2 and is intended to level out inequalities linked with varying requirements and risk profiles, budgets, resources and expertise. The regulation is intended to enable start-ups and medium-sized companies as well as large corporations to be able to implement the security measures required by NIS2.
You can get NIS2 compliance tips here: https://nis2-check.de/
NIS2 in a nutshell
In Germany, companies are required to register with the BSI (Federal Office for Information Security), for their relevant areas. A fundamental rule is that any security incidents must be reported immediately.
Across Europe, the strict security requirements mandated by NIS2 include the following:
Risk management: identify, assess and remedy
Companies are required to take appropriate and proportionate technical, operational and organisational measures. A holistic approach should ensure that risks to the security of network and information systems can be adequately managed.
Security assessment: a self-analysis
Security assessment includes questions such as: what vulnerabilities are there in the company? What is the state of cyber hygiene? What security practices are already in place today? Are there misconfigured accounts that could be vulnerable to data theft or manipulation?
Access management: protecting privileged accounts
Companies subject to NIS2 regulations are encouraged to restrict the number of administrator-level accounts and change passwords regularly. This lowers the risk of network cyber security breaches threatening business continuity.
Closing the entry gates: ransomware and supply chain security
One of the main concerns of the NIS2 directive is proactive protection against ransomware. Endpoint security solutions can help here. Employee training is another necessary step to create risk awareness and help identify and prevent cyber attacks.
The focus here should be on best practices in handling sensitive data and the secure use of IT and OT systems. Supply chain vulnerability is a major area of concern. Companies need to ensure that the security features and standards of the machines, products and services they purchase meet current security requirements.
Zero tolerance strategy: access control and zero trust
In a world where corporate boundaries are increasingly blurred due to digitalisation, cloud infrastructures and decentralised working models, perimeter-based architectures have had their day. A zero trust concept provides multiple lines of defence, relies on strong authentication methods and threat analysis to validate access attempts.
Business continuity: prepared for emergencies
Business continuity management measures are essential to ensure that critical systems can be maintained in the event of an emergency. These include backup management, disaster recovery, crisis management and emergency plans.
In summary, we should not let the complexity of the topic discourage us from taking action; after all, NIS2 is for our benefit, to help us protect our business assets from increasing cyber risk.
Businesses would be well advised to start on the route to assessing their security posture and current status vis-à-vis NIS2 requirements. You can make a start by simply identifying all relevant stakeholders in your organisation, starting a task-force and gathering intelligence on your cyber risk.

Boom Supersonic lands Saudi investment that takes it over $700M in total funding
Boom Supersonic has landed financial backing from a fund connected to Saudi Arabia’s royal family in a deal the experimental jet company says takes it over $700 million in funding for the business.
Denver-based Boom Supersonic aims to make faster-than-sound passenger jets at the factory it's building at PTI Airport in Greensboro. Bounder and CEO Blake Scholl predicts will revolutionize international travel by cutting trans-oceanic flight times in half.
Last week Boom Supersonic confirmed closing a financing round that included a strategic investment from the NEOM Investment Fund. NIF is a funding offshoot of a Saudi Arabian royal family’s effort to foster economic development, technology innovation and ecological preservation in a swath of northwest Saudi Arabia touching the Red Sea coast.
Details of the investment in Boom, including its size and what other funds may have participated in the round, were not provided. The plane maker’s parent company, legally called Boom Technology Inc., hasn’t officially reported raising an equity investment round since 2020.
Boom Technology filings to the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission outline raising equity investment totaling just over $171 million in five investments between 2016 and 2020 but nothing since then.
Boom's total funding was most recently estimated at $208 million by Crunchbase, a digital venture capital database.
The company's announcement of $700 million in funding described the money being both investment and “other forms of capital.” Boom Supersonic termed the agreement with NIF an opportunity "to make the Gulf region dramatically more accessible through the power of supersonic flight.”

Blake Scholl is founder and CEO of Boom Supersonic.
Paul Cordwell, provided by Boom Supersonic
“Our goal is to bring the world closer together through faster flights,” Scholl said in a statement. “We’re excited to collaborate with partners and investors around the globe as we work to realize our shared vision.”
U.S. air carriers United Airlines (Nasdaq: UAL) and American Airlines (Nasdaq: AAL), and Japan Airlines, have paid deposits to Boom to reserve Overture planes for future purchase. Boom is also working with Northrop Grumman to develop a military and government version of the supersonic jet.
Saudi fund backs 'bold entrepreneurs'
The NOEM Investment Fund invests in viable commercial projects and “moonshot ideas enabled by cutting-edge technologies” and seeks deep partnerships with like-minded investors and bold entrepreneurs working on the world’s most complex problems,” its website says.
The northwest region of Saudi Arabia has been dubbed NOEM by Mohammed bin Salman, crown prince of the Saudi ruling family. As the founder and chairman of the NOEM board of directors, he has outlined a vision of $500 billion invested to transform that part of his kingdom into a global innovation hub.
NIF’s website describes it as engaging in both venture capital investment, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions.
Majid Mufti, CEO of NEOM Investment Fund, said: “The NIF strategy is designed to align NEOM’s development objectives with those of innovators and institutional investors, de-risking opportunities for them to participate in creating core global growth businesses and a thriving economy in NEOM.”
Part of NIF’s focus is finding private sector investments “to unlock solutions that would be piloted and scaled-up” in the NOEM development zone and eventually exported to the world, the website says.
Boom Supersonic declined to answer whether its investment agreement includes a possible presence in Saudi Arabia or the sale of planes. Boom Supersonic spokeswoman Aubrey Scanlan repeated the statement about making the Gulf region “dramatically more accessible” but provided no more detail about how.
The company also declined to specify whether the investment came in the form of equity financing, which would mean the NIF fund owns a stake in the business, or in another form of financing.
Boom's Overture plans advancing on several fronts
Boom Supersonic is nearing the first test flight in Mojave, California, of a single-seat test jet meant to confirm design choices and technologies for the Overture passenger jet it’s designing. Overture is meant to fly as many as 80 passengers at Mach 1.7 speeds across oceans. It would be the first supersonic passenger airliner since the Concorde retired in 2003.
The company is also building a factory its $500 million factory at Piedmont Triad International Airport where Overture will be assembled. The project is ahead of schedule, according to Boom, which plans to ramp up hiring for the plant in 2025.
Boom named Boeing veteran Scott Powell to lead its engine program earlier this year.
In Centennial, Colorado, where most of Boom’s staff of more than 250 is based, the company is putting together its Iron Bird facility, where a functional, grounded replica of an Overture will be tested and refined.
The company’s XB-1 test jet has been granted permission by the Federal Aviation Administration to fly, and the company has been steadily building up at the Mojave Air and Space Port to that initial flight.
Boom aims to have its first Overture passenger planes flying in 2026 and its first flights with passengers occurring in 2029.
