Leaders: Are You Wearing the Emperor's New Clothes?
“The Emperor’s New Clothes” is a short story written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. It is about two weavers who promise an emperor a new suit of clothes that they say is invisible to those who are unfit for their positions, untrained, or incompetent. In reality, the tailors make no new clothes at all. Instead, they make everyone believe the clothes are invisible to them. When the…

Too long, didn’t watch for
A Pit Stop In Hatchetfield
NOW HERES A LIST OF EVERY LORE DROP I NOTICED THAT ISNT CONFINED TO ONE OF THE NEW STORIES SPECIFICALLY :
* The problematic puppy at the Hatchetfield kennel, which Dan and Donna reported on, was a dog who was gonna be put to sleep because he bit Mayor Solomon Lauter
* Charles Coven is the full name of the man who owned the Hatchetfield Rollerama in Yellow Jacket. He also happens to be the same Coven who owns and operated Coven Communication Research & Power (CCRP, where TGWDLM begins). Charles used to work for the government and eventually moved to Hatchetfield, MI to start his current company in the private sector, where he uses other worldly knowledge to get ahead in the cut-throat world of business.
* Charles also has control over Howard Goodman, the president of the United States of America.
* Brenda, the cheerleader played by Bryce Charles in NPMD works at Miss Retro’s (Miss Holloway’s diner) now that high school is over. She is also dating a f-boy named Tucker.
* Tom Houston is the coach of the Hatchetfield Football Team
* Ted, being a terrible worker, knows the CCRP office inside and out. He often goons around.
* Miss Holloway dresses up as a witch on Halloween!!
* Pastor Todd is a Methodist Pastor in Hatchetfield, implying that he is probably Charlotte’s pastor (thanks @starkidenjoyer)
* There is a Cider Mill Haunted House in Hatchetfield
* Miss Holloway can projectile vomit on command
* Sylvia, the girl we see dating Bill (I believe in Killer Track) is also Charles Coven’s Secretary.
ALSO NOT LORE BUT-
THEY WANT TO DO NMT3, but if they do, it will not be on zoom anymore. It will be filmed in a more full-fledged manner, similar to Workin’ Boys.

Hey can I ask for "you brought me food?" with Yahya? Please?
Somewhere in Houston - 2:18 AM
Knobs and various lights sprawling across an expansive soundboard were the only friends for Yahya in the wee hours of the morning. He told himself last time was the last time he’d be holed up in a studio instead of wrapped in the warmth of his king sized sheets. He needed rest and something other than the hard ass couch in the corner of the room to sleep on. But, when the phone rings and Megan Thee Stallion is in need of a producer on the fly, he had to answer the call.
“How was that,” she questioned from inside the booth, looking expectantly at Yahya.
He pressed a button on the board and leaned forward. “I think that was the one lowkey. You wanna play with the hook or you good?”
“Let me hear it back.”
“Bet. Come out here.”
Yahya busied himself with playback while Megan made her way into the open space to listen to the song she’d written and recorded within the hour. A hard hitting beat filled the room, intermixing with expertly crafted lyrics about the advantages of being the baddest bitch to ever live.
While Megan listed intently to her flow and inflections along with a few members of her circle, Yahya ran his tongue over his bottom lip and leaned back to close his tired eyes. He was sure they were bright red as a monument to his near dangerous levels of exhaustion. His phone buzzed in the pocket of his sweats but he ignored it in favor of a few extra second of shuteye. Whoever it was could wait. They wouldn’t be the first text or call ignored in the last few days.
“Yeah, that’s hard,” one of Megan’s friends remarked. “That’s the motherfuckin’ one. You putting that on the album?”
“We’ll see. I kinda wanna put it out for Megan Monday. The hotties need this shit right the fuck now! How quick you think you can mix and master, Yah?”
The sound of his name made Yahya jerk free of the sandman’s clutches and sit up straight. He adjusted his ball cap and wiped his hand down his face to check for accidental drool before speaking.
“Shit, that depends. You waitin’ on the verse from ol’ boy or what? If not, I can have it done tonight. If you are, it depend on how quick he can get the file to me. Anything after like 10 on Sunday morning gone get you into some problems.”
Megan pondered the timeline while scrolling through her Instagram timeline. “We can make it work. Fuck that feature. Niggas play all day and I don’t have time. He can catch the remix or some shit.”
Yahya’s laugh came with the gleam of his grill, catching Megan’s eye. She gave him a once over from head to toe before settling on his lips.
“Where you from?”
“Third Ward.”
“You single?”
“Nah.” He chuckled as he pulled back the sleeve of his crewneck enough to show the name tattooed on his inner wrist. Andrea. “Finna be engaged in a couple weekends if everything go right. She a flight attendant but we make it work.”
Though disappointed, Megan accepted his answer with a smile. “She lucky. You a good man.”
“I’m the lucky one, forreal. But I appreciate you.”
“So tonight right? I can count on you?”
A knock on the studio door stopped Yahya before he could answer in the affirmative. A second knock came as the door opened, letting light from the hallway spill into the otherwise dim room. The smell of sauteed onions and warm bread came next to stir the forgotten hunger in the pit of Yahya’s belly. Then came the peak of women’s low Travis Scott dunks partially covered by by flair olive green sweatpants. Everyone in the room watch the rest of her body appear bit by bit until she was fully present inside the room and pressing the door closed with her back.
She smiled and offered a small wave. “Sorry, y’all. I tried calling but you didn’t answer, babe.”
“It’s all good. Megan, this Drea. Drea, this is Megan.”
“You don’t think I know who the Hot Girl Coach is?”
“Period,” Megan exclaimed before taking in the way Andrea’s slicked back bun put all of her beautiful features on display. Clear gloss reflected the purple gleam from the LED strip lights adorning the padded walls. She was a stunner, fresh faced and otherwise. “A real hottie! I love to see it.”
Andrea resisted the urge to scream or ask for a photo as she moved closer to Yahya and his outstretched arm waiting on her to fill the empty space. Megan and her crew rushed to grab their things with the feeling that the session had finally reached its end.
Megan adjusted her purse on her shoulder before reigniting their earlier conversation. “Text me or my homeboy if I don’t respond quick enough. We ‘bout to start a whole new era with this one.”
“Hell yeah. ‘Preciate you for letting me be part of this. Keep me top of mind when you get to work for the album.”
“Oh, you already know. We’ll be in touch.” Megan turned her attention to Drea pointed toward the bag of food in her hand. “You got me wanting some Waffle House now. Don’t tell my trainer.”
“I don’t even know what you talking ‘bout, friend.”
Megan pointed a long acrylic nail in her direction while looking at Yahya. “See, I like her. Make sure you come back next time.”
Additional pleasantries and farewells as Yahya walked the team to the door put a cap on a long night session. Behind him, Drea unpacked the white plastic bag holding a fresh patty melt and hashbrown cooked just the way Yahya liked them. She set quietly unwrapped a plastic knife and began cutting his sandwhich in half before twisting the cap off of his orange juice and setting it aside.
“What’s that,” Yahya asked as he approached Drea from behind. He wrapped his long arms around her waist before kissing her cheek. “You brought me food? You ain’t have to do that. I was gone grab something on the way to you.”
“No you wouldn’t have. Be forreal.”
He chuckled. “It sound good, though.”
“Mhmm. Open up.”
Drea carefully balanced a forkful of pillowy shredded potatoes with her hand cupped beneath to catch any fallout until it reach Yahya’s mouth. He closed his eyes to chew, groaning at the explosion of flavor tantilizing his tastebuds.
“You gone sit with me for a minute? I promise I won’t be long.”
Kisses along her neck and cheeks meant to persuade her made Drea giggle then relent.
“Okay, okay, okay,” she laughed. “On one condition.”
“Anything you want, boo.”
She turned to face him and pull his hat from his head head to hers, pulling the brim low enough to cover her eyes.
“Let me rap a lil somethin’.”

that skater au gave me brain worms so. just. take whatever this is. I'm so tired.
John
started figure skating young
his dad was a genial and well respected business manager at a rink in Washington sponsored by the prestigious Skaianet Systems Inc, which brought major players like the vaulted Roxanne Lalonde to Olympic gold stardom
he's just a decent man though, trying to support his family
he brought John to the rinks sometimes and taught him to skate just for fun
however, John soon started showing a prodigious talent for it, and Dad Egbert was so so proud of him for it
John liked skating well enough at the time, and was kind of hoping that maybe if he took up skating his dad would axe the whole harlequin thing
(which he did)
(mostly)
at sixteen, after winning a few pretty impressive medals in the junior category, John was ready to call it quits and retire the professional skates
Tragically, however, it was around this time that James "Dad" Egbert, who had always been so supportive of John's skating, died very suddenly.
John grieves in a very particular way. He often gets (home)stuck in a version of denial which often looks like radical acceptance.
He is in fact actually very fucked up right now.
Vriska Serket, a young and notorious athlete turned coach who John had been working with for the last year or so at that time, pulls a Vriska, and hamfists John back into skating.
With her guidance, John becomes one of THE top US figure skaters, and at age 21 is ready for his second foray into the Olympic scene.
The winter Olympics are in less than a year, and John has taken up training in Vancouver...
Dirk
took up street hockey as a teen in his home town of Houston, Texas with his kid brother Dave, who said it was the height of irony to play a winter sport in the hottest place this side of satans tight asshole
Dave never liked it as much as Dirk did though
probably because Dave liked not fainting from heat stroke
I know, Dave is so weird
It got them out of that apartment though.
... (<- Bro silence being very loud)
Anyway
At 16, Dirk got scouted by a pale man in a suit working for a company called Abraxas, which he said was looking for young athletes to sponsor. <- very believable
That's very rude. I never lie.
And please, call me Doc Scratch.
Is it normal for traveling salesmen to have doctorates?
Oh it's not a title, though I imagine it would be very easy for me to acquire one. Haa haa, hee hee.
...
Things got very messy and horrible very quickly.
Events culminated in an extremely high profile law suit, where Dirk and many other athletes were represented by the Pyrope Firm to take down Abraxas, Doc Scratch, and his boss Lord English (H3'S SO PR3T3NTIOUS, UGH) and to free them all from their horrifying contracts
Pyrope won.
For now.
At age 18, Dirk had a scandal behind him, a kid brother to take care of beside him (the Bro silence got quieter), and a veritable mountain of legal reparations ($$$) to get him into any college he wanted.
...
dude, just go to the hockey school
I could support you better with a law degree.
After Dave had to go to the hospital due to the force of his laughing fit giving him a hernia, Dirk decided to go to the hockey school.
He joins the team there, and does well enough to get into the Big Leagues once he graduates with a combob philosophy/comp sci degree.
the Big Man. he is you
Dave, despite having a literal athlete brother, still has no idea how sports work.
And neither do I, so just assume that Dirk does really well and gets on a good team and is very normal about everything.
He is especially normal when, at age 24, he has to move to Vancouver, Canada since he got swapped to a different team and Dave doesn't come with him.
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUn
Bonus notes
Rose is John's friend who is also a figure skater. She's got a very turbulent relationship with her mother, former Olympic skater Roxanne Lalonde, which drags down her genuine love for skating with the weight of legacy.
John and Dave are internet friends who don't know each other's last names, and while John knows a lot about Dave's life, he keeps his own private.
Dirk started playing hockey not for the ironies like Dave thought but because his online friend Jake said he thought hockey players were cool, and Dirk had a crush on him.
Dirk and Jade went to the same college (she was home schooled and started college early) and took a robotics class together for two semesters. They're still friends to this day, though Jade actually is an engineer now.
Guess where she's interning.
(Psst, it's Skaianet)
Vriska stopped being a skater after a string of incidents involving two other former skaters and a lawyer, which resulted in her being banned from ever competing again. One is now in a wheelchair and the other quit the ice skating thing completely. Ghosted it, if you will. wonk.
Aradia is a roller derby skater, and she is incredibly hot. She might show up in the hypothetical actual fic i write for this au. Because I love her.
Me being me i'll probably find a way to include everybody else in this au, but for now, that's all. Ta.

Fic title asks: “Cowboy Like Me”
Hello!
Alright, so my first thought, because we all know I love a good AU, would be rivaling rodeo cowboys! I'm talking enemies to lovers bleeding through every bit of it.
TK's known to take the title of the The Reno Rodeo in Nevada every year and Carlos is known to take the title of the Houston and Live Stock Show every year.
However, this is the year they're both competing in the National Finals Rodeo in Denver, Colorado.
They'd both be part of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association so they'll need coaches and who better than my two favorite LS besties, Tommy and Judd.
Tommy, a retired rodeo cowgirl who moved to Reno in the early 2000s with her husband and her twin daughters. Her only client is TK and he's her favorite client.
Judd, a retired rodeo cowboy who decided to hang up his hat because he doesn't want to risk not being there for his daughter when she grows up.
Yes, this would be an excuse to write a friendship between Carlos and Judd and yes this would be an excuse to make Tommy look better than everyone else in cowboy boots.
I think it would touch on TK doing this to keep his mind busy and his heart racing; and it would touch on Carlos doing this to prove that he's rough around the edges and not soft at all.
I think there would also, maybe definitely, be a scene that starts with competitive mechanical bull riding at a honky tonk bar that ends with doing very NSFW things in the bathroom of said honky tonk bars. They are cowboys after all, they're not afraid to get a little gritty.
send me a made-up fic title and i'll tell you what i would write to go with it

SAN JOSE — A high-profile downtown San Jose venue, weighed down by a sour California business climate and burdensome city rules, will shut its doors within days in a fresh blow to the city’s frail urban core.
Axe-Men Throw House, located near the corner of South Second Street and East Santa Clara Street, will cease operations this month, according to the venue’s principal owner and operator and a Facebook post.
The shutdown looms despite some bright business metrics for Axe-Men Throw House.
“Business was improving,” said Sarah Sed, principal owner and operator of Axe-Men Throw House. “We had a great product and there was a lot of interest. Our patrons loved that they got customized coaching on ax throwing. Coaches would be there during a session.”
Ultimately, the revenue improvement over two-plus years of operation didn’t suffice.
“We could never make enough money above and beyond the high cost of doing business in California and the high rents in San Jose,” Sed said. “We could never be consistently profitable.”
Even the high-profile location at 14 South Second Street in the old Voodoo Lounge building wasn’t enough to bolster the long-term success of the axe-throwing venture.
Ax-Men Throw House publicly announced its decision to close in an April 12 post on its Facebook page.
“After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close Axe-Men Throw House on April 21,” the company stated in the Facebook post. “We want to invite all our amazing customers to join us during our regular business hours until our last day. Enjoy one last throw with us!”
Sed decided not to renew its lease in the building. The ax-throwing venue opened in 2022 and its rental agreement had reached its final stages.
The start-up costs and ongoing regulatory challenges contributed to the decision.
“The permitting process with both Santa Clara County and the city of San Jose was very difficult,” Sed said. “We ran into a lot of hurdles. It became a question of whether it was worth it to put more money into it.”
On top of the local permitting difficulties, the sour business climate and byzantine regulatory requirements in California were also factors behind the upcoming closure of the ax-throwing venue.
Sed stated that she believes significant differences exist between the bureaucratic restrictions in California compared with Texas. Sed also operates an ax-throwing outlet in Houston.
“Of course, it’s harder to do business in California than in Texas,” Sed said. “Commercial real estate space costs more in California. There are a lot more restrictions. Everything is just more expensive in California.”
The company issued a heartfelt farewell in its public post on the Facebook platform.
“We appreciate each and every one of you who has supported us throughout the years,” Axe-Men Throw House stated in its Facebook post. “Let’s make some final memories together before we say goodbye.”
Another ax-throwing venue is slated to open, potentially by the end of the year, a few blocks away on the ground floor of the Paseo Building at 201 South Second Street.
Unofficial Logging is the name of this planned venue. The new ax-throwing venture will be located near Urban Putt, a miniature golf course venue that opened its doors in February and is drawing healthy crowds.
As for Axe-Men Throw House, the departure is a fresh blow to San Jose’s urban core, which is still battling to recuperate from the coronavirus-spawned economic maladies that still afflict downtown districts in the Bay Area and nationwide.
Despite the ongoing economic woes in San Jose’s urban heart, Sed regrets her venture didn’t become a long-term success story in the city’s downtown.
“I wish it had worked out,” Sed said. “San Jose is a great city.”

Every time former UConn women’s basketball guard Evina Westbrook makes a mistake in practice, she automatically knows the one voice that will immediately call her out.
Fellow former Husky star and Westbrook’s current Phoenix Mercury teammate Diana Taurasi will shake her head and challenge Westbrook to be better with a simple look.
It’s that support that has reignited Westbrook’s love of basketball.
"Just playing with her, it doesn't matter if I mess up. She knows what I'm capable of," Westbrook said Monday during the Mercury’s media availability. "So, every day, you know, I'll miss a shot and she'll laugh and be like, ‘You know what you should have done.’ Or I won't take a shot and she'll be like, she’ll look at me and I’m like, ‘I know. I know.’ And we'll just start laughing. She gives me another piece of joy to the game, I think, and I needed that, and I love that."
Westbrook joined forces with Taurasi and fellow former Husky Moriah Jefferson this spring when the Mercury signed the Oregon native during training camp. All three guards represent different generations of UConn women’s basketball, however; to Westbrook, that’s what makes them so disciplined and motivated on the court.
"We come from like a certain type of pedigree for sure," Westbrook said. "I feel like other people do know it and we know it ourselves just coming from UConn having that UConn mentality and bringing that to the W is much easier. … It’s great. I'm really glad I went there. It really set us up for success in the W."
The Mercury are Westbrook’s fourth different team in the WNBA after playing for Seattle, Minnesota and Washington during her rookie season last summer. Westbrook was drafted in the second round by the Storm but was waived before the start of the regular season. She teamed up with Jefferson with the Lynx for 14 games before closing out the year in D.C.
Now in Phoenix with Taurasi and Jefferson – who signed a free agent deal with the Mercury during the offseason – Westbrook is continuing to grow her game even more.
On Monday, she said Taurasi’s serious but fun demeanor has taught her how to play with more confidence.
"It’s her personality. I mean, I'm constantly laughing in the weight room just because she's talking or she's singing, she's dancing," Westbrook said. "But she's still locked in at the same time. And when she comes on into court, it is business. She'll mess up and stuff like that but she's coaching at the same time. And just the reads that she makes and the passes. It’s the little things that she does is really impressive.
"But I mean she's the G-O-A-T for a reason. She doesn't have that nickname out of nowhere. So, you definitely see it in practice. Just being able to be her teammate and just kind of being a sponge and kind of just soaking up everything that she's been able to give me on and off the court, I've taken every advantage of it."
Taurasi’s dedication to the game reminds Westbrook of Husky head coach Geno Auriemma.
"It’s easy to see why they get along and why they butt heads because they're the same person," she said.
When a reporter in Monday’s scrum teased that UConn hadn’t won a national title since 2016, Westbrook responded with confidence.
"We're coming back," she said. "We can't win them every year."
Westbrook has averaged 8.7 minutes across three games so far this season for the Mercury.
The Mercury are 1-3 to start the year and sit at No. 4 in the Western Conference standings. Phoenix will travel to Texas this week to play at Dallas on both Wednesday and Friday in a homecoming game for star Brittney Griner. The former Baylor star was born in Houston and led the Bears to the 2012 NCAA Championship.
"We haven't started off great as a collective, but I think it's understanding throughout the whole team that we know what we need to get better at and it's all of it is fixable," Westbrook said. "… There's a lot of new pieces on this team. So, it's just all of us trying to feel that chemistry within each other. Everyone does something different. Everybody brings something different to the table. So, it's how can we bring all this you know Thanksgiving food and make it a really good meal?"

Finding Motivation in Life
Finding motivation in life is a personal journey that often involves self-reflection, setting goals, and cultivating positive habits. Here are some tips to help you discover and maintain motivation:
Define Your Goals: Clearly outline your short-term and long-term goals. Knowing what you want to achieve provides a sense of direction and purpose.
Break down Goals: Divide larger goals into smaller, manageable tasks. This makes the journey more achievable and allows you to celebrate small victories along the way.
Create a Vision Board: Visualize your goals by creating a vision board with images and quotes that represent your aspirations. Place it in a visible place for daily inspiration.
Surround Yourself with Positivity: Spend time with people who uplift and support you. Positive relationships can have a significant impact on your motivation.
Learn from Setbacks: View challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Embrace failure as a natural part of the journey and use it as a stepping stone toward success.
Establish a Routine: Develop daily habits that contribute to your goals. Consistency helps build momentum and makes it easier to stay motivated.
Find Passion and Purpose: Engage in activities that genuinely interest you and align with your values. Passion fuels motivation, making it easier to stay committed.
Continuous Learning: Stay curious and open-minded. Learning new things can ignite your passion and keep you motivated to explore and improve.
Take Care of Yourself: Physical and mental well-being play a crucial role in motivation. Ensure you get enough sleep, exercise regularly, and practice self-care.
Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Recognizing your progress reinforces positive behaviour and keeps you motivated.
Seek Inspiration: Read books, watch documentaries, or listen to motivational speakers who inspire you. Learning from the experiences of others can provide valuable insights.
Stay Flexible: Life is unpredictable, and plans may need adjustments. Stay flexible and adapt to changes while keeping your ultimate goals in mind.
Remember, motivation is not a constant state, and it’s normal to experience fluctuations. Be patient with yourself and embrace the journey, using each experience as an opportunity for growth and self-discovery.

Leading Change: An Old Model Reveals New Ideas
Business leaders know the challenge it can be to lead change. When there is a new announcement about something changing, you can often hear the groans that arise. Work teams of all kinds resist change. Understanding ways to overcome the resistance can be a leader’ s best answer in times of change. As I’ve mentioned before, managing change can be very darn difficult. Within the body of change…

safe product owner certification training in houston
In today’s rapidly changing business environment, organizations are increasingly adopting agile methodologies to streamline processes, improve collaboration, and deliver value to customers more efficiently. One of the most widely recognized frameworks in the agile landscape is the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®). For professionals looking to deepen their understanding of agile and take on key roles within agile teams, obtaining a SAFe® Product Owner (PO) certification can be a game-changer.
In California, where the tech industry is booming and organizations are constantly evolving to remain competitive, the demand for certified SAFe® Product Owners is higher than ever. This blog will explore the benefits of becoming a SAFe® Product Owner in California, the steps to achieve this certification, and how it can elevate your career in the fast-paced world of agile development.
What is SAFe® and Why is It Important?
SAFe® stands for Scaled Agile Framework and is a leading methodology used by large organizations to implement agile practices across multiple teams. While agile is typically associated with small, flexible teams, SAFe® extends these principles to the enterprise level, allowing large organizations to stay nimble, collaborative, and customer-focused.
As a key role within SAFe®, the Product Owner works closely with agile teams to ensure that customer needs are met, and business objectives are achieved. The Product Owner is responsible for defining stories, prioritizing the backlog, and making sure that the development team is working on the most valuable tasks.
Why Become a Certified SAFe® Product Owner in California?
California is home to some of the largest and most innovative companies in the world, especially in technology, finance, healthcare, and entertainment sectors. With a strong emphasis on digital transformation and customer-centric products, businesses are turning to agile practices to remain competitive. A SAFe® Product Owner certification in California offers several key benefits:
1. High Demand for Agile Professionals
The demand for agile-certified professionals is growing rapidly, particularly in the technology and innovation-driven sectors prevalent in California. Companies in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, and San Francisco are actively seeking certified SAFe® Product Owners to help lead agile transformations.
2. Improved Career Prospects and Salary Potential
A certified SAFe® Product Owner is a valuable asset to any organization, making them highly sought after in the job market. The certification not only boosts your credibility but also enhances your earning potential. According to industry surveys, agile professionals, particularly those with SAFe® certifications, tend to earn significantly more than their non-certified peers.
3. Increased Efficiency and Collaboration
The SAFe® framework provides a structured yet flexible approach to agile, helping organizations coordinate large, cross-functional teams. As a SAFe® Product Owner, you will have the skills to manage complex projects and align teams with business goals. This makes you an essential link between stakeholders and development teams, driving efficiency and value delivery.
4. Networking Opportunities
By obtaining your SAFe® Product Owner certification in California, you join a community of agile professionals. Many training programs and certification courses are led by experienced coaches who are well-connected in the industry. This provides invaluable networking opportunities and potential for career advancement in California’s vibrant job market.
How to Get SAFe® Product Owner Certification in California
To become a certified SAFe® Product Owner in California, you’ll need to follow several key steps. Here’s a breakdown of the certification process:
1. Complete a SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) Course
The first step toward certification is enrolling in a SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) course. This course covers the essential principles of SAFe®, product ownership, and agile methodology. Many training providers in California offer both in-person and virtual courses, allowing flexibility depending on your location or schedule.
The POPM course typically lasts 2-3 days and includes lessons on:
The role of the Product Owner in a SAFe® enterprise.
Collaborating with agile teams and stakeholders.
Managing and prioritizing product backlogs.
Planning and executing iterations and Program Increments (PIs).
Popular training providers in California include Scaled Agile Authorized Training Partners, which offer specialized SAFe® courses across various cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego.
2. Prepare for the Certification Exam
After completing the SAFe® Product Owner course, the next step is preparing for the certification exam. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions that test your knowledge of SAFe® principles, practices, and the role of the Product Owner.
Many candidates use online study guides, practice exams, and resources provided by Scaled Agile, Inc., the creators of SAFe®. It is essential to dedicate sufficient time to study and review the course material to pass the exam successfully.
3. Take the SAFe® Product Owner Exam
Once you feel prepared, you can take the SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager exam. The exam is conducted online and can be taken at your convenience. You will have 90 minutes to answer 45 questions, and a passing score is required to obtain your certification.
4. Maintain Your Certification
After passing the exam and earning your SAFe® Product Owner certification, you’ll need to renew it annually by paying a renewal fee and continuing your professional development. This ensures that your knowledge stays up-to-date as SAFe® evolves.
Choosing the Right Training Provider in California
With so many options for SAFe® Product Owner certification training in California, it’s essential to choose the right provider. Here are some factors to consider:
Accreditation: Ensure the training provider is a Scaled Agile, Inc. Authorized Training Partner.
Location: Depending on your preference, choose between in-person training in major cities like San Francisco or Los Angeles, or opt for virtual training.
Instructor Experience: Select a course taught by experienced SAFe® coaches who can offer real-world insights and networking opportunities.
Course Reviews: Look for feedback and reviews from past participants to gauge the quality of the training.
Conclusion
A SAFe® Product Owner certification in California is a powerful credential that can open doors to new career opportunities, increase your earning potential, and position you as a leader in agile product development. With California’s thriving tech and innovation landscape, becoming a certified SAFe® Product Owner is not just a smart career move—it’s an investment in the future of agile business practices. Whether you’re looking to advance your career or lead a successful agile transformation in your organization, this certification is a vital step toward achieving your professional goals.

Texas Monthly gets chief with Dallas roots
PUBLICATIONS
Magazine’s new top editor led at Esquire, GQ and Men’s Health
After six years at the editorial helm of Texas Monthly , Dan Goodgame will leave his post as editor-in-chief of the state’s national magazine.
Next in line is Texas Monthly ’s deputy editor, Ross McCammon, who grew up in Dallas and is a former top editor at national magazines Esquire , GQ and Men’s Health .
He’ll take over as the magazine’s editor-in-chief come January.
The decision to bring McCammon to the head of the magazine’s editorial leadership happened organically.
In both a deputy editor and a successor, Goodgame was looking for someone who was both good at coaching editors and writers and who clearly enjoyed doing it.
The 51-year-old magazine is known for its rich features on the Lone Star State and its people, along with its annual “Bum Steer Awards” that take stabs at politicians, celebrities and even sports franchises.
“Ross is just invigorated by coaching people and working with them on how to get better,” Goodgame said.
“The staff is really responding to that.”
Goodgame had hoped he could step down when he reached 70 after a seasoned journalism career.
He wants to spend more time with his first grandchild and to be able to say yes to more invitations he’s had to pass on over the years, he said.
“I look in the mirror and I still see a young person, but the calendar says otherwise,” he said.
With his birthday coming up in January and with the speed at which McCammon integrated into Texas Monthly , the time was right, he said.
In the Texas Monthly office, one hallway displays every cover of every issue published.
President of Texas Monthly Scott Brown said he enjoys seeing the distinct differences between the different eras of editors.
“The Dan era has been fantastic, and I know the Ross one will be, too,” Brown said.
McCammon was born in Houston and grew up in Dallas’ Oak Cliff neighborhood.
He went on to study English at the University of North Texas in Denton and landed his first journalism job at Southwest Airlines’ in-flight magazine, Spirit , eventually climbing the ranks from fact-checker to editor-in-chief.
From there, McCammon went on to work as a top editor at Esquire, GQ and Men’s Health in New York City.
His book, Works Well With Others, explores the relationship between professional behavior and success and has been translated into five languages.
As a kid in Dallas, he grew up with Texas Monthly, which had a reputation as a place with a rich legacy of riveting and incredible storytelling.
Since coming onboard in 2023 as its deputy editor after first working as a contractor, he’s known that the biggest challenge would be maintaining that level of ambitious and rigorous journalism.
“We have the best people in the business working at Texas Monthly ,” McCammon said.
“It is the highest level of journalism, I was immediately so impressed. I wasn’t surprised, I was so so impressed.”
Goodgame’s philosophy throughout his tenure as an editor was to be adaptive to the new ways people wanted to consume stories.
With the support of Texas Monthly Chairman Randa Duncan Williams, the magazine made investments into hiring on the people necessary to tell stories across differrent mediums.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better business partner,” Brown said of Goodgame.
“He understood how vital it was to grow cross platform.”
Under Goodgame’s tenure, Texas Monthly grew its audience, revenue and editorial staff.
The full-time team more than doubled to 61 since Goodgame took over in 2019. The magazine is also seeing its largest audience, attracting 2.9 million readers a month and 31 million a month across all platforms.
“It feels good to be leaving the organization in good shape, leaving them with a terrific leader,” Goodgame said.
