The way oradeani are always ready to protect Bolojan is so funny to me. Like we voted for the man for more than a decade, you all think you can just drag him around? Nah. We can criticise him, but give him the respect he deserves. And he deserves a lot of respect. Like even though he is coming from pnl he is one of the best politicians we have at the moment

Romanian President Ilie Bolojan met his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Wednesday and came away with a conviction that European leaders in their contacts with the US will stress the need to be involved in any security arrangements affecting the region, Diaconescu said. He warned younger generations of Europeans who had never experienced life behind the Iron Curtain that this moment could represent a return to the “gates of hell”. “Gasoline lines, poverty, women dying in hospitals, people who do not have heating . . . two-hour TV adulations of the supreme leader. That is what Yalta means.”

excuse me nova but (as far as ive seen) this is the first time im hering of your OCs???
*shakes you* TELL ME ABOUT THIS ANCIENT SPECTATOR
shdjfkfkgl
I currently have 6 OCs, only 2 of which have names at the moment. I’m much better at archetypes:
The Ancient Spectator
The Solitary Specialist (name: Talyx)
The Merciless Protector (name: Zenith)
The Dynamic Champion
The Rival Companion
The Captivating Escapist
I’ve been pretty quiet about them, only dropping hints here and there. Most of them play significant roles in the unwritten parts of my Constellations of Cybertron AU, so I’m careful with what I share so as not to spoil the stories they’re in. Also, the reality is that very few people care about OC content unless there’s eye-catching art to go with it, so I’m waiting until I’ve commissioned some of my favorite artists to bring my OC designs to life before I reveal all of them in full.
For now, I am pleased to introduce…
The Ancient Spectator
This little guy’s been around since the beginning. He’s functionally immortal, and by that, I mean that any time he’s died, he’s been free to return via reincarnation to continue his work. He doesn’t have to come back, but he does so because he’s fond of watching, recording, and pondering the events of the known universe.
He’s seen a lot in his time—the beautiful, the horrifying, and everything in between. Very little surprises him anymore, but even though he’s grown to be cynical, he has yet to lose his sense of intrigue and wonder at both the joy and grief of existence.
Characters this OC is most similar to:
Alpha Trion (Aligned and IDW)
Rewind (IDW)
Heimerdinger (Arcane)
Songs I associate with this OC:
Morning’s Wings by Tony Anderson (Spotify | YouTube)
Truth Unveiled by Time by Mattia Cupelli (Spotify | YouTube)
Before I Was Born (Ben Fowler Remix) by Noemi Bolojan (Spotify | YouTube)
Miyazaki Mountain by Philter (Spotify | YouTube)
Alt Mode Inspiration

Credits: Image 1 source unknown. Pinterest and reverse image search show no results. // Image 2
This is only one of several alt modes, but it’s definitely my favorite one. I like whatever DotM Laserbeak had going on, and as an ancient observer who prefers to fly under the radar, the Spectator needs to be flexible when it comes to alt modes.

Romania’s Constitutional Court on Monday validated the shock first-round result in the country's presidential election, setting the stage for a run-off vote on December 8 that could upend its pro-Western orientation and undermine backing for Ukraine.
The ruling clears the uncertainty that has hung over the nation since the court demanded a vote recount last week, after the November 24 victory of little-known far-right candidate Călin Georgescu raised suspicions of outside meddling in the electoral process of a country that has been a staunch ally of Ukraine.
“Judges unanimously decided to [...] confirm and validate the result of the first presidential round on November 24 and holding the second round on December 8,” chief judge Marian Enache said.
Georgescu will now face center-right contender Elena Lasconi in the run-off in the European Union and NATO member state.
A day earlier Romania held a parliamentary election, with the ruling leftist Social Democrat Party (PSD) leading but with far-right parties gaining a third of seats in the new legislature.
The outcome of Sunday's parliamentary election, the second of three ballots scheduled over a period of as many weeks, sets the stage for what is likely to be a period of talks among mainstream parties on forming a governing majority, with the PSD central to the negotiations.
“We notice a rift,” PSD leader and Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu told reporters. The party has yet to endorse a candidate in the run-off. “Romanians must decide for themselves,” he said.
“The PSD will need to be a bridge between EU-funded development and EU and NATO membership and [...] a part of Romanians who believe in Christian values and national identity.”
President’s role
With 99.98% of votes counted in the parliamentary ballot, the PSD had won 22.3%, ahead of the hard-right Alliance for Uniting Romanians with 18.3%. Lasconi’s centrist opposition Save Romania Union (USR) had 12.25% while the junior ruling coalition ally Liberals had 14.3%. Two far-right groupings, SOS and POT, had 7.75% and 6.4% respectively, and the ethnic Hungarian Party UDMR 6.38%. Liberal leader Ilie Bolojan said the party was willing to participate in a pro-Western coalition. “Those who rejoice democracy has won in Romania are doing so prematurely,” political scientist Cristian Pîrvulescu said. “If the president is far-right, it would be very complicated for pro-Europeans to organize and resist in parliament because they will have an extraordinarily difficult 2025.” Who gets to form the government will ultimately depend on who wins the presidential race, since the president designates a prime minister. A survey conducted by pollster CURS on December 1 at voting stations showed Georgescu would win 57.8% in a run-off to Lasconi’s 42.2%. The survey polled 24,629 people as they exited voting stations and had a margin of error of plus/minus 0.6%. “Yesterday’s election shows the pool of voters for Lasconi is very small, the pool of voters for Georgescu can be very large,” Pîrvulescu said. “PSD voters have more in common with the far-right candidate, who has an important shot at winning the election.”

Interim Romanian president faces uphill battle to restore trust amid election controversy
Ilie Bolojan, the interim president of Romania, has taken on the challenging task of leading the country until the rescheduled presidential elections in May, according to Euractiv.
His immediate priority will be to clarify the reasons for annulling the first round of the November 2023 presidential election, a decision that has left many Romanians dissatisfied and fueled political tensions.
Bolojan, 55, steps into a role overshadowed by the opaque presidency of Klaus Iohannis, who resigned unexpectedly after a decade in office. Iohannis, known for his limited public engagement and lack of a spokesperson during his second term, left behind a legacy of perceived arrogance.
Ilie Bolojan, a former mayor of Oradea, now faces the daunting task of restoring public trust and ensuring transparency in the presidential administration.
Calls for clarity and fair elections
Bucharest Mayor Nicușor Dan, the first to announce his candidacy for the presidency, has outlined two key expectations for Bolojan: a clear explanation for the annulment of the November elections and the organisation of a fair electoral process. Dan emphasised the need for transparency regarding campaign financing and the means used during the elections.
We need to find out who contributed to the campaign, how much, what means were used, and so on, so that as many Romanians as possible are convinced that the Constitutional Court’s decision was justified and to restore confidence in the democratic system.
Elena Lasconi, leader of the opposition USR party, echoed these sentiments, urging Bolojan to provide “clear answers and evidence” regarding the annulment. She highlighted the lack of concrete evidence of foreign interference, noting that only assumptions have been made so far.
Romanian authorities have yet to provide detailed explanations for the election annulment. The Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) mentioned in its 2024 report that Romania, like other European countries, has been targeted by Russian hybrid warfare tactics, but it did not directly link these actions to the elections.
Meanwhile, a criminal investigation into the financing of candidate Călin Georgescu’s campaign has intensified. Georgescu, who claimed to have spent nothing on his campaign, is under scrutiny, with searches conducted at the home of his campaign chief. Finance Minister Tanczos Barna confirmed that tax authorities are cooperating with investigators to uncover potential irregularities.
Bolojan’s promises and challenges
In his interim role, Bolojan has pledged to respect Romanian citizens, support the country’s stability, and reassure international partners of Romania’s reliability. However, he must also navigate a volatile political landscape. Far-right parties, emboldened by Iohannis’ resignation, plan to submit a no-confidence motion in Parliament next week.
Ionuț Moșteanu, leader of the USR parliamentary group, indicated that his party might support the motion if it leads to a more credible, pro-European government.
If a very clear scenario emerges in which a more credible, pro-European, pro-NATO government can continue – one that could potentially include USR- then yes, we will vote for the motion of no confidence.
As Romania approaches the May elections, Bolojan’s ability to address the election annulment controversy, ensure a fair electoral process, and manage internal political crises will be critical to restoring public trust and stabilising the country’s political environment.
