Me, personally, I see this as him being the freak that he usually is who doesn’t know how to make friends normally lol - like he needs to know information about them before finally approaching so he lowkey fact stalks them before being like hiiii I know when your birthday is do you wanna be friends <3 👁️👁️

for a webbed site that claims to love rehabilitative justice tumblr sure has a love of vengeance huh. somehow we’ve created a digital atmosphere where literal murder is less bad than (checks notes) not emerging from the womb with a perfectly calibrated moral compass and the Correct Political Opinions

I’ve seen people on here say that, not only can people Not Change, but that people who try to change are a) lying b) manipulative and c) undeserving of the chance to change. besties…becoming a better person isn’t about whether or not you deserve to become a better person, it’s not even about becoming 100% perfect, it’s about doing damage control after you realize you fucked up. like yeah people you’ve hurt aren’t obligated to like you/forgive you/interact with you, but tumblrites seem to think that anyone who’s ever made a serious mistake should be exiled from society and/or guillotined. we’ve gone from reasonable and correct takes about how people change (ex. “it’s not my responsibility to teach you”— yes! of course it shouldn’t be up to underprivileged random people on the internet to educate the uninformed!) to utterly deranged ones (ex. “nobody with privilege will ever realize that they’re doing harm and the ones who claim to be in the process of learning are just virtue signaling and should be punished for it”— a take I’ve seen applied to men learning about feminism, cishets becoming allies, white people learning about antiracism, relatives of shooters who go on to advocate for gun control, etc)

you do realize that people can genuinely change for the better, right? I’ve seen my parents un-transphobia themselves firsthand, going from thinking that my sibling came out “for attention” to wholeheartedly believing in trans rights. my grandma’s father was every kind of asshole imaginable and she grew up indoctrinated, but as an adult she broke away from him and has spent the rest of her life working on unlearning stuff. my cousin grew up in the rural south and parroted his rural southern dad’s opinions until he was thirteen and started actually thinking for himself, at which point he did a total 180 and is now studying history with a focus on the evolution of the rights of the underprivileged

so when I see people on here say that people shouldn’t change because they don’t deserve to change it rubs me the wrong way. cause at that point it sounds like you’d rather have that person stay harmful so you can stay mad at them, instead of letting them change and gaining yourself an ally. again, you don’t need to interact with them, but. at this point it kind of feels like you care more about hating The Oppressors than about protecting The Oppressed.

seetttthing scalding hot take but honestly i feel no sympathy or theoretical sadness about altea being blown to bits. the few alteans we DO know are all assholes. clearly the universe isn't missing much. in fact, if you look at the only canon universe that DOES still have altea--- they go on to be just as bad as the galran empire if not even worse.

so yeah. maybe zarkon did the universe a small favor before he went truly off the deep end.

edit; just found out alteans destroyed Diabaazal long before zarkon destroyed altea. nothing ANYONE says can convince me alteans are anything *but* the real villain of the show. they got what they deserved.

Line concepts for the final two characters of HoA. Since the existence of the Abnormal children has to be kept secret, their section was relatively far from the main orphanage to avoid normal people noticing any of the Abnormal children. Arriving to section 2 means passing through a forest path before reaching the clearing where the section is.

Florence was assigned as the sole caretaker of section 2, being less fearful and more knowledgeable of medicine of the caretakers. While she is mostly annoyed of the general antics and the extra times she had to spend making sure the children's treatment worked, she knows not to complain it to the director, or he would not be happy.

Director is... well, the director, and also the one to rescue the 6 children from the experiments. Now they're keeping them secluded for them to heal physically and mentally and away from the eyes lf the public. They mostly keep to themself and from others, but they do talk to the Abnormal children to make sure Florence wasn't slacking off, before checking section 1 briefly to make sure it wasn't falling apart in his absence.

Zatoichi (1989), aka Zatoichi: Darkness Is His Ally.

This was the last film in the original 26-film series featuring the blind swordsman, Zatoichi. It was released 16 years after the previous entry, Zatoichi's Conspiracy. In the intervening years, Zatoichi appeared in a 100-episode television series broadcast over four years.

Shintaro Katsu not only starred in the film, he directed it (his second in the series), co-wrote it, and produced it. It was his chance to say goodbye to the character he had most been associated with and which brought him the most fame and acclaim.

This is not the best film in the series by any means. It is overlong and the pacing is off; there are one or two scenes that were inserted just to appease Katsu-san's vanity; and many small bits are repeated from previous films that give the impression that this is a "best of..." compilation film.

On the other hand, it is not a terrible movie, either. Watching this film, albeit with a much older Zatoichi, feels like visiting with an old friend. And I still prefer it to any of the so-called Zatoichi films that were released years later.

Besides this being Katsushin's swan song as Ichi, the film's reputation will always be marred, at least in Japan, by a tragic death that occurred during production.

Katsushin's son, Ryutaro Gan, played the villainous yakuza Boss Goemon in the film. While filming a battle scene Gan, with what he thought was a prop sword, stabbed fellow actor Yukio Kato. The sword was real and, tragically, Kato died from his wounds.
