Back to the whole “Gale rarely leaving Tavs side” deal. (Kind of a follow up to this post) Aside from being with them as much as possible, he would do anything for them. Whatever it is, be it their favourite meal cooked precisely when they want it, reading to then, going out into the city to find whatever Tav desires. But sometimes there is more to it than simple innocent gestures. It’s evident in the game, too. When he confesses to Tav, he’s prepared to give them all that he can and more, even if it takes magic, even if it’s a once-in-a-lifetime type of experience. I think that translates into the post-game life/events. And yes, there are gifts and flowers and jewellery – and that’s okay, he loves them, maybe he saw those flowers and thought of Tav – but there’s a different thought process behind it than at other times here. But there are other situations. I feel like it would be hard for him to tell the difference between ‘I will do this for Tav because I love them, because I want to’ and ‘if I don’t so this they might think less of me, they might leave me’. He needs them to see what he can offer at all times, he needs to impress them, “make up” for all the times that he couldn’t – even if Tav is happy enough with him just as he is.
