If you haven’t already I HIGHLY recommend supporting your local vegan restaurant. This was the first thing I ate going to Veg and one of the many reasons I keep going back, aside from the lush bushy green decor that causes a beautiful and distinct separation between you and the ugly outside city. I've eaten vegan before but never like this.
This dish was light and natural in flavor, and had beautiful ingredients; turmeric white corn grits, hard seared Cajun oyster mushroom steak, fried brussle sprouts w/ applewood smoked salt and umami shallot oil, sweet and sour caramelized bacon agridulce, and raw cashew Parmesan.
The drink is called Blue Butterfly Iced Tea 🦋 contains blue butterfly flower, lemongrass, ginger, orange peel, and chrysanthemum 🍋🫖🍊
I can’t wait to eat here again!

The raw food diet is a plant-based lifestyle centered around consuming uncooked and unprocessed foods to preserve their natural enzymes and nutrients. By avoiding heating food above 118°F (48°C), the diet aims to enhance digestion, energy levels, skin health, and overall vitality. It focuses on fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains, offering nutrient-rich meals that are both satisfying and wholesome. More information here...Raw food diet

Navigating the grocery store aisles can sometimes feel like walking through a maze, especially with the plethora of food options available. One key skill that can help guide you through this maze, making healthier choices along the way, is understanding food labels. Food labels provide essential information about the nutritional content of food items, helping consumers make informed decisions about their diet and health.

Why do we love one another?
The experience of love is a complex and multifaceted emotion that can be influenced by various factors. While the specific reasons why we love one another can vary from person to person, there are several common themes and explanations that contribute to the experience of love:
Emotional Connection: Love often arises from a deep emotional connection between individuals. This connection can be fostered through shared experiences, mutual understanding, empathy, and emotional intimacy.
Compatibility: Love can be fueled by a sense of compatibility and shared values, interests, and goals. When we find someone who aligns with our core beliefs and desires, it can create a strong bond and a sense of belonging.
Physical Attraction: Physical attraction can play a role in the experience of love. Our brains and bodies are wired to respond to certain physical characteristics, and attraction can be a catalyst for developing emotional connections.
Support and Care: Love often involves feelings of care, support, and nurturing. When we feel loved, we experience a sense of security, knowing that there is someone who will be there for us, provide emotional support, and help us navigate life's challenges.
Shared Values and Beliefs: Love can be strengthened by shared values, beliefs, and a sense of common purpose. When we find someone who shares our worldview and has similar aspirations, it can deepen the connection and foster a sense of unity.
Chemical and Biological Factors: Love is also influenced by chemical and biological factors. Hormones like oxytocin and dopamine play a role in creating feelings of attachment, pleasure, and bonding.
It's important to note that love is a subjective and individual experience, and the reasons why we love one another can vary greatly from person to person. Love is a deep and complex emotion that can be shaped by personal experiences, cultural influences, and individual preferences.

WHY I NO LONGER LISTEN TO THE NEWS EVERYDAY
Did you know that news stands for North East West South? I only listen to the news if it is an emergency. This is because I find listening to too much bad news plays a horrible effect on my way of life. At the end of the day there is nothing I can do about what's going on in the world. What I can control is what's going on in my world to a certain degree. Because at the end of the day it is my life that I'm trying to control. Listening to the news really plays a bad role in what's going on in my world. When I found out about the war between Ukraine and Russia, I felt so scared, I felt so afraid, there was nothing I could do about the situation.
I would soon realized that I can just turn it off. If it escalates I would hopefully get an emergency alert on my smart phone. The alert would most likely warned me of some type of atomic blast or missile heading my way. There is no need to listen to the news, because I don't know what I would do with the information. Back when I worked in Radio I always knew what was going on, but I would be quite stressed out about what's going on because there would be nothing I could do about the situation.
During the pandemic all I did was listen to the news. Listening to the high rise of cases of this airborne viral infection. It caused the world to go on lockdown, it caused a pause on life. We did not know a pause on life was possible. Now thanks to the pandemic I am able to work from home. Also thanks to the pandemic I found out that I am sensitive to loud noises. Before the pandemic I always just went through the motions. I always knew something was off, but never understood. Then when I was home for a year and had to return back to civilization. I would soon understand that I am sensitive to loud noises. Now I don't listen to the news, now I don't listen to the world events. There is nothing I can do about it. Other than say that's awful. Move on.
My biggest advice to myself is to not listen to the news unless it is serious. Unless somehow listening to the news is such an emergency appointment that I have to listen to the news and deal with it. I do still see the news once in a while. But I am down from every day to just three times per month. And that has made my mental health so much better. I am not telling you to stop listening to the news. I am telling you my experience of listening to the news and how listening to the news is not good for my health. Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog as always.

Natural Calm
REVIEW
I was fortunate enough to be chosen to try @natualcalmcanada. Not just one, but three flavours: Original, Raspberry Lemon and the new Wildberry! Magnesium helps with calming your system for better sleep and fewer aches and pains.
I first tried the Original. It mixed really well in the water but tasted like baking soda and left a funky aftertaste. I'm pretty sure it would've tasted better if I had mixed in juice. I found that I fell asleep fairly quickly which was nice. Unfortunately, I woke up at 2:45 am to go to the bathroom, but I seemed to fall back to sleep fairly quickly as well. I did experience a bit of Restless Leg, but nothing too bad.
The next night I tried the new Wildberry flavour. The flavour was definitely more appealing to me. The only downside was that it felt weird on my teeth. Kind of like the feeling you get when you eat citrus and then brush your teeth right after. Or perhaps a drink with aspartame. This time the powder kept separating from the water, and I had to continuously swirl it to drink it. It also made my urine smell bad, I'm not sure if that is typical. I fell asleep quickly and didn't awaken until 4 am this time. It took me a bit to get back to sleep, but nothing major. The RLS was a little bit worse this time though.
Finally, I tried the Raspberry Lemon, and that's when I knew I had saved the best for last. It was a milder taste than the Wildberry. To me, it was reminiscent of iced tea and I am quite fond of iced tea. The powder stayed mixed really well and it was easy to drink with no weird feeling left on my teeth. I slept straight through until 5 am but struggled for an hour to get back to sleep and unfortunately experienced quite a bit of RLS.
All in all, I had a positive experience with Natural Calm. I think I am just a special case due to my chronic illness. The average person should feel a lot of relief from these products. It did make me feel generally calmer, I fell asleep quickly and over time stayed asleep pretty well. Raspberry Lemon is my recommendation though!

Indian, Arabic, and Mediterranean dishes are so delicious while having mostly vegetables. Beans and legumes are a great way to start because they get a meaty flavor and texture with the right seasoning and preparation. As a kid, my favorite vegetable was string beans.
Asian noodle dishes have lots of veggies and meat on them. My mom likes to put chop suey on top of noodles. She puts a lot of shredded chicken in her version. Others put shrimp and/or mushrooms and quail eggs as well.
Squash soup is wonderful.
You can add other greens in pesto.
i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.

"life doesnt get better, you just get stronger" does NOT include ages 11-17. life does in fact just get better from there. those years are dogshit. like, you do get stronger but its mostly just a factor of not being 11-17 anymore. positive thinking helps but it doesnt fix whatevers going on at 15, you have to brute force through that one raw
#i originally posted this as just a 'hey remember how fuckin bad middle/highschool was? shit was wild' type post but now#there are a bunch of teens in the notes being like 'oh my god are you serious? it gets better? im not stuck in hell forever??'#and im reminded that the only people who told teenage ella 'it gets better' were speakers at mental health assemblies#aka the least relatable people alive who were seemingly born to lie to you#so. uh. yeah im a certified adult who isnt here to lie or sugarcoat the realities of being a teenager#the only thing more certain than the pain is the transcience
