Did you know you can report fake job offers to the Better Business Bureau?
They're not really clear on what a "fake job offer" is, but personally, if you're shown an ad or "job listing that might interest you" by a site like Glassdoor, and it doesn't seem to be real, I would consider that to be being "approached about a fake job offer."
Now, the company who posted the listing isn't the one that "approached" you, but the one running the website is. I wonder what would happen if the BBB started receiving a bunch of scam reports about all the fake job listings on those sites.
Anyway, if you think you've been targeted by a scam, you can report it here:

Many of you have pointed out that this map is... strange (why is Maryland no longer above water?), and the Canadians in the notes largely seem to agree that these nicknames are inaccurate. This consensus is much the same on the Reddit post this post is sourced from.
But buckle up, folks, because I've just been on a research bender, and this is way weirder than I expected it to be.
The Canadian nicknames actually do all appear on the Wikipedia page, "List of provincial and territorial nicknames in Canada".
Here's where it gets weird.
Most of the nicknames that match this map have the same source on that Wikipedia page. (This is true of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.)
If you happen to find that highly suspicious (as you should), you might check reference number 4:
"The Nicknames of Places in Canada and the United States". CashNetUSA Blog. 2019-11-18. Archived from the original on 2022-07-02. Retrieved 2022-04-17.
The author of this blog post is none other than Barbara Davidson, who is credited as the artist in this post. The blog includes the map, and I would guess it was where the map was first posted.
Essentially: The sources on the Wikipedia page for these Canadian province/territory nicknames consist of the person who posted this map.
But wait! There's more!
The more is widespread financial crime, by the way. The saga continues under the cut.
What is CashNetUSA, and why does their blog include posts about nicknames for places in the US and Canada? Their website looks extremely sketchy, and reading between the lines on their "About Us" page gives the impression of a predatory lender (online-only edition). If you ever had a personal economics class, you were probably warned against lenders like these.
Let's see what the Better Business Bureau has to say about CashNetUSA. Their average customer rating is 1.1 out of 5 stars! (Admittedly, that is only out of 92 reviews.) They had 331 customer complaints closed in the last 3 years, with only 47 listed as resolved.
This gets even more interesting when you look up CashNetUSA's parent company, Enova International, Inc.
Specifically, when you look up Enova International on the website of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a US government agency responsible for enforcing federal consumer financial law.
The CFPB issued an order against Enova in 2019, as it was found to have committed several violations of financial law, including debiting bank accounts without the consent of the customer and granting loan extensions which were then not honored. They paid a $3.2 million penalty for that and were ordered to stop their illegal practices.
On November 15th, 2023, Enova was found to have violated that order and continued to defraud consumers. They now have been fined $15 million and banned from offering short-term loans entirely, along with several other penalties. (Here is the press release about this, and the CFPB listing of the action against the company.)
Now, I haven't even had a chance to verify the supposed sources for the blog post, which so helpfully includes the sources in a Google Sheet linked on the page. I already know at least a few of the sources are unreliable, and some of the links are entirely broken.
I plan on checking up on the sources later, unless someone beats me to it, so stay tuned. But for now, here's a life lesson I have never once imagined myself imparting:
Perhaps predatory lending companies, engaging in repeated illegal practices to defraud money from their customers, are not the ideal source of information about US state and Canadian province/territory nicknames!
Map of nicknames for states and provinces in USA and Canada.
Barbara Davidson, 2019
#mapsontheweb#I see incorrect maps from this account fairly often but this is the first time widespread financial crime has come up in my fact-check.#That isn't a dig at OP. They're honest about not assessing accuracy of the maps they share and they include sources.#I just wish people would remember that and take the maps with a grain of salt when viewing/sharing.#maps#us states#canadian provinces#canadian territories#canadian provinces and territories#us state nicknames#canadian province and territory nicknames#united states#canada#misinformation#fact-checking#and then some#or more like fact-checking that got very sidetracked#financial crime#consumer financial protection bureau#better business bureau#predatory lending#fraud

Tokyo Smoke Best Customer service in Belleville Ontario Cannabis? Nah they Bait & Switch.
Written by Ashton Deroy Tokyo Smoke in Belleville may want to consider a different brag than Best customer service. Cause They did a Bait & Switch. It wasn’t the first one. Quite frankly it won’t be the last. This could of been avoided if the Budtender Charlotte was trained Properly. If Tokyo Smoke accepted returns in the case of Want of Understanding? Or didn’t just completely misrepresent the…

You might have already tried this, but you could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It might not go anywhere, but there's always a chance that your complaint will be the one that tips the scales into an investigation. It might be worth a try -
I know this is the "we're all broke here" website, but should you ever be in a position where you're gonna have a mortgage:
DO NOT USE MEGASTAR FINANCIAL.
I've had mortgages for 13 years now, with various companies, and I have never seen anything close to this level of willful financial mismanagement, siloing, bad policies, lack of follow-through, and refusal of accountability. It is staggering.
My monthly payments should have gone down this year, instead they've gone up by $600 a month. They are completely clear that this is because of their own policies forcing me into this position, and that I didn't do anything wrong, and it doesn't matter. Because this is their policy so they can do what they want.

Great customer service from Walmart via the BBB
Great customer service from Walmart via the BBB
Will wonders never cease? Not only does this post illustrate a positive customer service experience, but one provided by a big box company – none other than Walmart Canada! It all started last week when my wife and I were picking up some odds and ends at our local Walmart in Lasalle, Quebec, a suburb of Montreal. One of the items in our cart was a 12-pack of Bubly sparkling water. During the…

#earthauto ripped me off $649.49 on 5/31/22 on the #ebay app. They claim my cash app wont work. I asked them to mail me a check, send me their cashapp id and i will request from them but they stopped responding and probably blocked me on the chat history via #ebay chat. I know #ebay has access to the chat and i have addressed this with #ebay but they have done nothing and said they cant refund me because i didnt follow proper #ebay protocol If #ebay would look in my chat history with #earthauto they can confirm that the owner of #earthauto confirmed they not only received the headlights back but that they claimed they tried to send the refund to my cashapp i use allll the time with no problem but they claim they cant send it via the cashapp. So i asked for their cashapp handle and they never gave it nor responded. I asked if they could mail the check and they did not respond to that. At this point i am probably blocked by #earthauto on #ebay #Ebay i strongly urge you to review my chat history with #earthauto and make them pay me back. I tried to sue them but they are based in china and have a Warehouse that is in the united states. I will retrieve that address for blowing up later in my #ebay chat history with #earthauto Another important fact you should know is that I addressed this with the famous internet bank #chime and they refused to make good and reimburse me for this company not refunding and taking my money back from #earthauto After talking to #chime countless times the only resolution they offer is to go back and get a refund from #ebay If i was still with Chase Bank they would have refunded the money back into my account that same day as they have so many times before. #Chime did not make good on a unauthorized transaction either Do not trust or bank with #chime because all they did was tell me that point blank #ebay is responsible and just so you know #chime outsource their customer service to India and they never let you talk to a manager and many times will say the issue is closed and hang up on you. Cheap labor gets poor quality service i am sorry to say. Don’t bank #chime

Trump and Le Pen backed these Dutch farmers -- now they've sprung an election shock | CNN
CNN — A farmers’ protest party in the Netherlands has caused a shock after winning provincial elections this week just four years after their founding. Could their rise have wider implications? The Farmer-Citizen Movement or BoerburgerBeweging (BBB) grew out of mass demonstrations against the Dutch government’s environmental policies, protests that saw farmers using their tractors to block…
