Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Vol 4 by CRC Payne & Starbite

100/5 (hahahah this one was gold!)
This post is for Fan entertainment, I’m not being paid.
Now when I am talking to my friend on who in the DC Universe scares me the most, granted I know I said Professor Pyg is up there. But no, number one spot of who scares me the most and I won’t dare cross in a fight is…. Alfred Pennyworth.
Stick with me here I will give my reason, he is an ex-British agent, and he has raised Bruce when both Martha and Thomas died. The man can beat on Superman (yes I know he had help with Bruce and what he did in the Injustice comic series.) and walk away. While Batman has the no kill rule and wont use a gun, Alfred has not made any promise, you threaten his family this guy will rock you.
One of the chapters in this volume proves my point, when it comes to a snowball fight, he will show no mercy to anyone.
But mostly this volume is more funny family times, and how cruel the kids can be to Bruce. Batman got done fighting Condiment King and he needs a new suit. Leave it to Batwoman, Nightwing and Red Hood to pick the legendary Rainbow Batman Suit!!! (We also see some honorable mentions.)
Also, Bruce is not a saint either, Bruce is part of the PTA and after some miscommunication (Yeah right that Marge woman is evil.) Batman has faced down evil villains, and he would not stoop to a level of pettiness that some villain. However, Bruce is not about that, in pure spite and being the richest man in Gotham calls on an army of ice cream trucks to take the dreaded Marge down.
Now I haven’t talk too much about Nightwing/Dick Greyson, but in volume it showed a side that we normal don’t get to see. Dick is normal all smiles and jokes, but when he talks about his old life in the circus, before his parents died and when they did died, he has insecurities about talk about it. That he better than anyone knows how it feels, just like Bruce.
Something that this volume did which I loved was taking a break from the Waynes, we got to spend some time with the Kents. Mainly Conner, Clark and Jon. I am not well versed in the Superman methos so I didn’t know that can’t get their hair cut like earthlings, so they have to laser it off.
Now the ending chapter I just have to say I pity Aquaman.

TV Series Discussion: Batwoman
Season 2 (2021)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9c01c668fca28fe0474dbe4ec19d3838/c95a9f4922ff6d8e-b0/s540x810/ec2fc190fe021c20148a49958726d26862af440a.webp)

Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair, and it's under the watch of Jacob Kane and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. When the Alice in Wonderland gang targets the firm, Kane's daughter Kate returns home, deciding that if she wants to help her family and her city, she'll have to become the one thing her father loathes, a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her stepsister Mary and the crafty Luke Fox, the son of Wayne Enterprises' tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman.

Not Bad, For A Major Cast Change
When news first dropped of Ruby Rose leaving this project, I remember being absolutely disappointed. I was still going to watch the subsequent seasons, but I really only enjoyed season 1 for Ruby Rose being Batwoman, so how much can I enjoy season 2?
First of all, I loved the storyline the writers decided to use to explain a change in Batwoman. Regardless of why they came out with this storyline, it made sense which already impressed me.
Then, I got introduced to Ryan Wilder. Don't get me wrong, I will forever love Kate Kane but Ryan brings a level of unseriousness to being a vigilante. Her sass as Ryan and as Batwoman was truly fun to watch. As much as I like Batwoman 1.0 more, Batwoman 2.0 is not so bad herself. I mean, Ryan Wilder's a pretty endearing character. And her friendships with the team? I really thought I was going to dislike season 2 yet all in all, I think I actually enjoyed this season over its predecessor.
Honestly, the Bat Team was great in this season. Even Alice was amazing. What fell short was the villains. Something I liked in season 1 was them having the villain-of-the-episode concept more. Sadly, season 2 focused so much on Safiyah and Roman, there was too little villain-of-the-episode. Moreover, Safiyah and Roman's villain plots were just not it because come on, this is Gotham and Gotham's villains do much worse.
The biggest shock of finishing Batwoman Season 2 was realising I enjoyed this season more than season 1.
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.5/5)

Spoilers for this week's episode of the Flash!
This is the conclusion of the first arc (the Big Bads in the show are now divided into chapters), and features the defeat of the Red Death + her Rogue minions. Mark did indeed survive, and Team Flash manages to rescue him…though he was being used as bait for a trap. Turns out that Red Death borrowed telepathic powers from Grodd, who felt alone because his fellow gorillas lost their intelligence and Team Flash had kinda cut him loose. But with a bit of kindness and a promise to help with the gorillas, Grodd is convinced to stop assisting RD and to return the bit of Speed Force he'd gotten from Barry a few years ago. This turns the tide, and allows Barry to get a few blows in before Batwoman -- this universe's Ryan Wilder -- defeats her counterpart the Red Death.
We see Owen and Murmur get kicked around, but not Roy and the Fiddler. Maybe the latter two are still running loose somewhere despite their boss' capture? Roy seems a lot more psycho now, so that probably isn't good for anyone. And I'm sorry to see the last of Owen and Murmur together, because they had great interactions.
Hartley, Jaco, and Goldface weren't on board with the mission to rescue Mark until Khione said she'd go, but they kind of get peer pressured into it. They all barely escape with their lives, and when it looks like the Red Death has won they all abandon Barry to spend what little time they have left with their loved ones. Buuuuut they do return to fight the Red Death when Barry takes her on alone and needs help, and the trio has a weird fourth-wall breaking moment about the nuttiness of Wednesdays, lol. I wonder if they'll be helping out in some of the remaining episodes, as their last scene leaves that possibility open.
Interestingly, Hartley has super-hearing in the episode: he detects Mark's heart beating from a distance during the rescue mission. Nice bit of comics continuity there.
Mark isn't sure he belongs with Team Flash at Joe's party, but Barry assures him that he's part of the family now. So I don't know if we'll ever see anyone acknowledge their wrongs regarding the situation with Frost, but at least nobody seems angry.
Also, Joe's decided to leave town with little Jenna to give her a normal childhood, while the plan is to have Cecile stay with Team Flash but commute to the family on weekends. Plus, Iris is pregnant even though Barry's purported schedule for it is still three months away. Was his schedule wrong, or is this baby different from the Nora they were expecting? Khione knows Iris is pregnant before anyone else does, and exhibits some kind of cold powers to awaken Mark from unconsciousness, so it seems she's not as unpowered as everyone had assumed….based on the teaser, that and the surprising pregnancy will be addressed next episode.

Review: Batwoman: Elegy
Series: Detective Comics #854-860Writer: Greg RuckaArtists: J.H. Williams III, J.G. JonesPublisher: DC ComicsReleased: July 6, 2010Received: Library Find it on Goodreads Summary: Kate Kane is Batwoman. Her path to get to this point was less direct than some, but this is the persona that fits her best. More importantly, this mantle enables her to help others and take a stand for what matters…

Holy Bat-tusi!
Qué es esto?!
The Mexicans made an unauthorized Batwoman movie?!
Ponga al Comisionado Gordon en el teléfono del murciélago!
This was hilarious! So bad it’s good kind of film.
Weirdly, the star actually seems like a pretty good actress! How she ended up in the Batwoman bikini is anyone’s guess.

I have mentioned in my previous post how everyone related to the biological bat family is Jewish, but I need to talk a moment about Damian Wayne's aunts.
Because this boy has 5 Jewish aunts. And not just from Bruce's side.
Let's review them, alright?
1. One of the most famous out of them, Kate Kane aka Batwoman. The Jewish icon and Bruce's cousin. (Once removed or-something still counts!)
2. Beth Kane or Red Alice, Kate's twin. She's his aunt as well, the same as Kate.
3. Bette Kane, aka flamebird, another cousin of Bruce. Also shares the same Jewish blood.
Just wait, now is the more interesting part I've been waiting for:
4. Nyssa Raatco. (Very different from the Arrowverse version).
Talia's older sister. Daughter of Ra's Al Ghul and her Jewish mom. A badass Jewish Arab assassin, and one of my favorite Jewish aunts of Damian.
And the last one might be more controversial, because I know she's *technically* not family but still
Harey Quinn is the 5 Jewish aunt of Damian I'LL DIE DEFENDING IT.
My source?

AUNTIE QUINN!?!!
DC fans don't get mad at me I know Harley is not batfamily I just think she's an aunt figure to Damian. She's not part of the whole batfam, she's his aunt exclusively. She's Damian's fifth Jewish aunt fight me.
Yap I'll see myself out 🚪←🏃

DC Power 2024: Finally sat down to read this because I’d been holding off on it due to the Far Sector epilogue.
I’m going to look at writers again too, as a casual comparison to the seasonal anthologies. My first impression is that there was more variation in story length than some of the other anthologies: on top of a 13 page epilogue, the anthology had a mix 8 page and 10 page stories, while it’s been standardising to 10 page pitches for the seasonals.
Enduring Farewells (N.K. Jemisin): In terms of the story, this was a lovely little cap on the run. Loved the surprise party, the baking discussion, and Jo and John getting to bond a bit.
Looks like they’re popping it into the deluxe trade, which makes sense – might as well keep all the parts together. (This is a thing I’m seeing DC collections do more often when a story is spread through various places, and they should be applauded for it and encouraged to continue: the Tim Drake: Robin trades have the entire Meghan Fitzwilliam storyline)
N.K. Jemisin is a multi-Hugo, Nebula and Locus winning novelist who was specifically recruited to do Far Sector. I think her translation between formats has been pretty solid.
The Spice of Life (Cheryl Lynn Eaton): this is part of Pierce family arc that’s been going on for a bit leading into the current Black Lightning run, where Anissa’s having issues with her powers. I haven’t actually clean read the storyline through, but it’s been ticking along in various anthologies since 2021 or so? Look, this is definitely one of those stories where I felt like a complete cultural outsider lacking a chunk of context, and the story is too slight to pick it up. Which is fine, this anthology is absolutely not aimed at me; I just wonder if the cohort for who it is aimed at find it compelling or heavy handed.
Cheryl Lynn Eaton has been getting more Marvel work than DC, but is largely getting published in Voices/Power stuff. She did get a Black Panther event tie-in mini last year that seems to have got solid reviews.
Pit Stop (Lamar Giles): I honestly can’t believe that we’re getting Bloodwynd stories in the 21st century, let alone LEGACY BLOODWYND stories, but then I’ve never actually got my head around and read the entire situation back in the 90s Justice League. My understanding of what was going on was limited to approximately “this is something involving Martian Manhunter identities, and I know it’s complicated”. I’m happy for all the Bloodwynd fans out there that they got new material.
Lamar Giles’ one other comics work is the Static teen graphic novel for DC. As is common for people on that pathway, he has a substantial bibliography of YA novels over the last decade.
Pure Blackness (John Ridley): Ridley’s annual contribution to this title was an Earth-2 Val-Zod story. It was a very ‘let’s tell the origin story’ tale. It felt very much exactly like how he likes to tell a story. I don’t have a lot to say about it, really? Feels a bit like a swipe at Absolute Superman, except it was written probably before the pitches for that were even delivered.
Ridley of course has extensive comics credits with DC and multiple ongoings, among his other achievements.
Lost at Sea (Deron Bennett): okay this was a fun piece of horror. I am meaning to get to more Aqua stuff, and I don’t fully understand the emotions between Black Manta and Jackson, but I will say, given Black Manta’s most famous moments, him being essentially framed for killing kids clearly has some schadenfreude to it, particularly when he got OUTRAGED that someone would to that to him. I WONDER WHY PEOPLE MIGHT TRY THAT, BLACK MANTA. I am completely unaware of how accepting Manta is towards Jackson’s sexuality but this was positing that he’s supportive? Ish? Hmmmm.
Deron Bennett is a DC letterer (he’s done a lot of work for the Bat office since Rebirth, particularly on Batman, Batwoman, Green Arrow and Batgirl) and this is his first work as a writer. I think it was a very respectable opening story. He got to team up with Denys Cowan, which certainly helped make the story look good.
The Session (Shawn Martinbrough): I was all set to add this to my collection of ‘DC psychologists you should be using in stories as superhero psychs’ except it rapidly entered the ‘DC psychologists are the enemy, again’ zone. That aside, love every time people have Crispus Allen and Renee Montoya in stories together. Obviously this sent in the past, probably pre-Flashpoint, as this is incredibly Allen’s first appearance since 2011. Which. WHAT?
Shawn Martinbrough has a three decade career in comics, however the majority of his work has been over in the art side. His other DC writing credits are on Red Hood and Red Hood: The Hill.
The Natural Order (Alitha Martinez): This was a cute Nubia story! Pity about Mxy being in it but I’m just generally not a fan of 5th dimension imps at any time.
This is Alitha’s first story as a writer with DC, however she’s worked as a penciller and inker on a number of projects, most notably on the earlier Nubia minis, so she’s certainly across the character.
Jump Shots & Loose Watts (Jarrett Williams):this was a promotional story for Speed Force, essentially. As such, it had the exact same sort of tone as Speed Force, and on top of that had the perky sort of ‘you, marginalised kid I am trying to relate to, you’re the REAL hero not superheroes!’ tone that feels somewhat off base in this anthology, as given the price point I suspect it’s unlikely to end up in the hands of many marginalised Black teens and kids.
Jarrett Williams, on top of writing Speed Force, has an substantial set of credits writing cartoon tie-in comics (there’s a lot of Rick and Morty in particular). The similar tone is noticeable.
Fair Play (Greg Burnham): it was nice to see a title actually starring Michael Holt for a change, as he’s been very relegated to a ‘call in tech support’ character for a while now.
Greg Burnham has a couple of other anthology credits with DC (one Halloween, one with Milestone Initiative), and a handful of indie comics titles.
The Light That Shines (Brandon Thomas): Duke goes hopping in time and talks to his older self to get a perk up. It’s apparently related to an earlier story Thomas wrote in Batman Black & White.
Brandon Thomas, along with Bryan Hill, are DC’s two major Duke writers since Scott Snyder stepped back from writing mainline stories. His work for DC also includes a lot of Jackson Hyde’s stories and the current Black Lightning run.
On balance, looking at this list of ten writers, I would say there are legitimately two who qualify for the tagline of “all star cast” (Jemisin and Ridley), plus Thomas having substantial writing credits with DC and Williams having a current mini when this came out. I’m delighted to see that they gave writing opportunities to three of their long term artists (Bennett, Martinbrough and Martinez). A lot of this list looks more like ‘offered opportunities’ rather than open to brand new pitches. I’d say the experience level is on average slightly higher than comparable seasonal anthologies.
-
DC Power: Rise of the Power Company (2025): I think it’s worth noting that this is a substantially shorter anthology this year compared to 2023 or 2024. 2023 had 56 pages of story and 2024 had 95 pages. 2025’s entry only manages 40 pages, however the one particularly notable thing about those 40 is that 3 of the 4 stories feel prepped or related to current or solicited storylines. As such, it feels less like an annual celebration anthology and more like an event anthology.
The writing team is Brandon Thomas, Zipporah Smith, John Jennings and Vita Ayala. It’s Jennings’ first DC story, but Smith has been turning her hand to a diverse range of characters in shorts, and Thomas and Ayala have substantial credits.
Company Man (Brandon Thomas): This is just set up for future Black Lightning and Power Company storylines, surely? If you’re reading either of those, you should probably be dipping into this to check on the framing happening. It would probably be a better story if it wasn’t clearly doing a lot of heavy lifting to move pawns into place.
Ring of Power (Zipporah Smith): Mari gets to team up with EVERYONE, it feels like. Can’t escape being a supporting character, but wow do people like using her to showcase others. This is a nice check in on what’s happening with Malik White.
Unfinished Business (John Jennings): Jo Mullein and Vic doing stuff with the new Justice League satellite. Like all of the current Justice League-entangled stories, I’m sort of waiting to find out if we do have an overarching plot here or if it’s just setting vibes that everyone is being asked to use. It’s cute but fairly insubstantial.
Dynamic Duo (Vita Ayala): look, I’ll be honest; I haven’t been particularly impressed with Ayala’s voices and characterisation when writing various Bat characters. I don’t mind the Duke voice here too much (though it’s quite perky for Duke), but it felt Wow Are We Black Bat Characters, Have You Noticed We Are Both Black? Which, firstly, please have someone finally let Duke and Luke actually meet on page, both of them clearly want to get to know the other. Also it felt like a lot of heavy handed commentary on how partitioned off Ridley’s been keeping Jace Fox.

To be honest, I felt kind of neutral towards the Acolyte but I did enjoy it (even though it felt like I had to do a bunch of research about the Old Republic). But also, I feel like even though there was a good sized fandom for it, people didn’t want to give it a chance. So now it’s disappointing that it got cancelled- and I bet that neckbeards are over the moon
sooooo... I'm really torn on the acolyte. I was doing an episode by episode review on tiktok and I'd just posted the 3rd episode review and I was IN LOVE with the show. but here's the thing. I'm in a group chat of people from my church that loves sw and marvel. when I tell you I haven't seen the same levels of misogynoir from people I know in real life and ppl who are NOT WHITE. Granted there's only like one Black person in the chat but even he was against the lesbian moms to the twins. (long story short the church I'm a part of is homophobic so I'm very much in the closet).
But i'm torn because the acolyte would have been accepted if it had been a pair of white twins instead black girls. the hypocrisy of the star wars fandom has never been more apparent. I'm soooo going to keep watching the acolyte but honestly I don't think its fair that every time that we have canon black lesbians we get cancelled (willow, first kill, batwoman, charmed reboot and now the acolyte).
I just feel like it would have succeeded if more white lgbtq+ ppl would have watched it. but of course sapphic women of color can't have anything nice.

DC Comics Quick Takes for the Week of February 5, 2025

DC Comics Quick Takes for the Week of February 5, 2025 There’s not always time for a full review, but you know I’ve probably got something to say! That’s what the Quick Takes of the week are for! After last week's very few offerings, we're back for some DC Comics from the week of February 5, 2025. Be sure to check out the regular reviews here at DC Comics News! Shazam! #20
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6d55c964803c8520bf98644b6ad65e88/3daf82d7fd50a4c1-f7/s640x960/00717d29add0b0bda97d60f6ea912e57dbfad47f.jpg)
Jon Kent hasn't been relevant since Brian Michael Bendis aged him up in Superman #6 (2018). He's unable to carry his own series, and has become a tag-a-long character with the Super-family. With that move, Bendis eliminated all the potential for stories of Superman and Lois raising their biological son, an idea that was unique, different and fresh for the Superman franchise. In addition, he had Jon unbelievably pass through puberty and those important formative years without any guidance and produced a Jon Kent with perfect morality and a social conscience. Shazam! #20 serves both in story and in a meta way to reinforce the fact that not only will we never get a young Jon Kent, but that the sole reason for his existence is LGBTQ+ representation, and token representation at that. Real representation comes from characters care about because they are great characters and just HAPPEN to also be inclusive. Michael Holt Mr. Terrific and Kate Kane Batwoman jump immediately to mind. After the reader is drawn in by the compelling aspects of these characters the reader realizes, "oh, this really awesome character is black/lesbian/hispanic/asian...whatever." Jon Kent's appearances have devolved into niche romance fiction. He has no purpose any longer. He's not Superman and he's not Superboy, he's just redundant and useless. This is obviously a fill in issue and an issue designed to stick it to fans of Jon Kent and the Super-Sons. Two-Face #3
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4b1324214d8e9227a4187e18d5063492/3daf82d7fd50a4c1-81/s640x960/c8fd222d89bd558ab852828ca1f851836cfb112a.jpg)
Writer Christian Ward scratches the surface of the dichotomy in Harvey Dent's brain. There's the seed of a solid story here as Harvey discovers who's behind the efforts to sabotage the White Church. However the whole bit with Baby Doll played for laughs isn't funny. It's just weird and twisted and not in a way that works. This series is a hard sell, period. I think you have to go all serious to make this work, because that's what this concept is. It's not executed at a high enough level to bring me back for more. Batman: Off-World #6
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c1820933cd341aef3e8484320faf7d7d/3daf82d7fd50a4c1-b1/s640x960/660732a2a7a51c188c886e4edd3ca3961d37aa3b.jpg)
Despite the out of place setting that recalls the weird '50's sci-fi Batman comics, Jason Aaron really nails Batman's character. This issue works because of that. There are some expected story beats that one can see coming, but it's actually satisfying because they fit batman's character so well. Scooby-Doo Where Are You? #132
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/10d212680241d8a42dba56f2e8aafb04/3daf82d7fd50a4c1-a5/s640x960/089f856d62a9325dfecd413ef809010a77753e99.jpg)
It's probably expected to update a property like Scooby-Doo, but Sholly Fisch captures the voice and feel of the original 50 year plus old cartoon. There's some genuine humor that will make you smile, and there's even some clever names that will give adults a chuckle. This is definitely an all-ages comic and it's nice to know there's something appropriate with which to introduce younger readers to the medium. Batman #157
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f33969c22581a2744d60c196bd5d18fe/3daf82d7fd50a4c1-8a/s640x960/f038a980e656b32f9cd84a175887467361e3077e.jpg)
Some great art graces the pages of Batman #157, there are some really enjoyable and entertaining action sequences. One has to question some of the status quo changes in Zdarsky's Batman run. The theme here seems to be that not even the "good guys" are good. Jim Gordon can't just be a good man, Thomas Wayne has to be dragged through the mud. It's a trope of modern storytelling that is painful to read. It doesn't add to the story and makes it difficult to come back. If you don't believe that people can simply be good and that there are heroes, maybe super-heroes is not the genre for which you should be writing. The overall feel of the issue is pretty good, with a lot of classic Batman action, but there's a bad tasted left in the mouth by these weird changes that don't add anything positive to the Bat-mythos. Well, that's it for this week. What comics did you read the week of February 5? What was your favorite. Be sure to leave a comment below and come back next week for more DC Comics Quick Takes! End of year wip round-up
Time to look through my files of notes and see what plots I have still waiting attention, and perhaps assess where they are in the scale of projects. Colour coded for riddlebird, hattercrow, wahsbands or octogoblin. I'm always open to questions on my projects. In fact, please do ask if you want to encourage them to be written.
Starting with some I have posted as unfinished works.
OTT (LEGO Batman) : I intend to post a second chapter for this, showing how well Riddler's plan turns out.
Gay Attorney (Gotham/Ace Attorney) : This is supposed to have multiple chapters with the various 'witnesses' taking the stand.
Little Bird (Batwoman) : Not sure where this is heading but a follow up chapter seems necessary.
P.I. Riddler (DC comics) : I have an outline of the idea for this but not sure how many chapters it will require to complete.
Urban Legends (Batman - all media) : There is going to be a continuation here with other rogues making an appearance.
What Is Reality? (Btas) : I already have a second chapter started and a concept of where its going, including a 'final' scene.
A few extra Mahou AU story ideas.
Killer Croc vs Jonathan (Arkhamverse) : This is an interesting conflict I'd like to write.
Grown up Ed gets powers (Burtonschumacher) : We only saw one half of this duo in my first story so it seems fair to bring in Riddler.
Take A Chance on Me (Arkhamverse) : Pitting the pair against the machinations of Hugo Strange.
Oz mentors Ed (The Batman) : Does what it says on the tin.
The Curse of Alice (1960s) : Again an interesting development I'd like to explore.
Future Hattercrow (Gotham) : Not sure about this but considering this pair twenty years further on.
The Telltale series.
You Only Live Twice : Oswald is being mentored but demands Edward treat him as an equal if he truly respects him.
For Your Eyes Only : Edward gets trapped by the Agency and suffers their virus before returning to Oswald.
The Spy Who Loved Me : Oswald helps Edward through the aftereffects, unwilling to lose anyone else to madness.
Live and Let Die : Riddler is planning his return to Gotham, letting Oswald into the secrets of his past to convince him.
The Living Daylights : A continuation of the story arc.
New stand alone ideas.
Babysitter : Wario is cajoled into babysitting Bowser's kids and calls Waluigi in for reinforcements.
Sherrif Wario : Waluigi rides into town and immediately gets called a trouble maker by the Mario bros. Wario makes his own assessment.
Good Omens : A friend suggested Alfred Molina as Aziraphale and Willem Dafoe as Crowley which is a fantastic idea.
Fate Or Something Like It : I really wanted to consider the timeline after Norman got back from No Way Home. How he might try to save Otto from his fate.
Old Friends, Bitter Enemies : I watched the Spider-man PS game and love the dynamic of Norman and Otto. It would be worth playing with.
Skyscraper : Basically a PWP. Be fun to write.
Misunderstandings : Oswald overhears Ed saying something he shouldn't.
Batman vs Dracula (2004 cartoon) : A re-write of the film except bringing Riddler into the story.
Halloween Topsy Turvy : A fancy dress party at the Lounge causes feelings to run high.
Streamer Ed (btas) : Ed works as a streamer, with Jon and Jervis as mods, and a habit of review Iceberg Lounge promotional videos.
Gotham Gossip (Gotham) : Newspaper column style fic charting their rising and falling relationship. I still like this concept but am struggling with the media.
Kids museum meeting (comics) : A look back at how they might have met as children.
Secret Admirer : Where both Oswald and Ed are the other's secret admirer.
Tattoos (comics) : Oswald has tattoos - Ed is intrigued.
Olga My Queen (1960s/Gotham) : What if the Queen of Cossacks was Oswald's maid?
Gotta Shape Up (Harley Quinn series) : ngl I lost impetus with this show but I still like this idea - Ed having to step up with Joshua after Oswald's demise.
The King Is Dead : Similar concept in that it looks at how Riddler might react in the wake of Penguin's demise.
Wrap You Around My Finger : Ed is new to Gotham and thinks it'll be easy to cajole favours from Penguin. He is wrong.
Western AU : I wanted a fic with Jonathan on a horse thus this idea was born.
Are We Friends? (Gotham) : Ed struggles to pin down just what their relationship is during Oswald's eye recovery period. Again, not super confident writing in this media now.
Rogues Go Skiing (LEGO) : Cutesy vacation style slice of life.
Arkham sitcom : Exactly as it says, chapters done with mini plots happening, all within Arkham asylum.
Bookshop (1960s) : Penguin owns a book store and has suitors competing for him - Riddler vs Bookworm
Pre-Arkham : What if Jon and Jervis met before either became rogues?
Trans Oswald (The Batman) : Not actually a romantic fic but more angsty, considering what if he'd had a child in his younger years.
Merman Oz (2004 cartoon) : I just like the visual of him as a mermaid.
What You Love Most (Arkhamverse) : Another angsty piece where Ed doesn't realise Oswald's feelings.
Drive-in Movie (Batwheels) : Simultaneous riddlebird and Ducky/Quizz.
Music Meister (Arkhamverse) : Don't tell me the concept of Oz being forced to sing isn't hilarious.
Rumour Mill : Jonathan steps in when rumours spread about Jervis.
Trans Ed (Arkhamverse) : I wanted to write Oz facing his own transphobia but I'm not sure I can do the topic with the required sensitivity.
Hypnotism : As a hattercrow fan, its almost a rite of passage to write Jervis using his powers on Jon.
Merry Little Batman : I'm always drawn to new media variations.
More continuations.
The World Is Your Oyster sequel : What would life be like living with an octo-person?
Post Game (Arkhamverse) : A possibly final installment to my arkham Games series.
Nobody Said It Was Going To Be Easy sequel (btas) : Not sure this is something I still want to do honestly.
The Boss (The Batman) : Picking up their story post film.
Angel!Ed/Demon!Oz (2004 cartoon) : Bringing the contrasting pair actually together.
Pax Penguina sequel (Gotham) : I have no impetus to continue this one at present.
The Real Deal sequel (btas) : Considering whether Ed might get his own larger than life Penguin doll.
The King Of Gotham sequel (comics) : Picking up where the story ends off. Not finished posting the original yet.

New 52 Batgirl issue #11 Thoughts.
Something about the cover looks different than the last ones.
Just me?
Overview:
We start off with a villain role-call.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bc65ddb0418644952bdd64943c352a65/394b48624d555cc3-81/s640x960/c9ece98aa00949be7756beb670868923c206e26c.jpg)

I appreciate Batgirl’s attitude towards Knightfall and their whole “See, we’re doing the same thing.”
After that, we get some action, and Batgirl (again) is mostly on defence but landing some good hits.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c2efe5d0015e997a4f9d3daf1efabaca/394b48624d555cc3-f9/s640x960/b6625f289587d2db93a69ae3461c3762505bb892.jpg)

Holy tension killer, Batgirl, we then switch over to Alysia (Babs roommate) and James Gordon (Brother who is likely not Okay)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/faa6d2866b6fe2b0e552ce78dbb90604/394b48624d555cc3-e2/s640x960/13d02e39848ce145b8147a79acf0f780cc11cc9b.jpg)

But he’s given Alysia a cat. I’m sure this don’t cause any problems. I’m going to be honest, I’m not feeling a lot of things about James Jr. Maybe that will change. I’m only eleven issues in.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ccecb64fe441949b59bec406ffc22264/394b48624d555cc3-fd/s640x960/bd1fbc875de474d17e1ce3f33fe0972b9138fd44.jpg)

Anyway, Batgirl gets saved by Detective McKenna. For those not keeping track, McKenna has an issue with Batgirl after she froze up and caused McKenna’s partner to be killed by a supervillain (Mirror.)

We get a background review on Knightfall.

And after a confession from McKenna about why she’s suddenly wanting to help Batgirl after being on a grudge for most issues, we learn that someone’s listening in on the conversation.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9ef0b8599764a56e55a643210d0b1286/394b48624d555cc3-4d/s640x960/a4aef9868a684e164f7287f5989da40fc6a0d851.jpg)
Batwoman.
This could be fun.
Anyway: This was an okay read. The cliffhanger is intriguing, but nothing crazy engaging this time.

Spoilers for this week's episode of the Flash!
Roy Bivolo is back…and surprisingly, so are Hartley and crew. The Red Death has recruited Roy to do her bidding, and in a pinch Team Flash calls Hartley et al to help with the crisis. Red Death has kidnapped Barry to power her Cosmic Treadmill, and Mark decides to rebel by destroying it while it's in use. Unfortunately, RD's Rogues attack everyone, and Mark holds them off so Barry can escape. Team Flash appears during the chaos and teleports Barry away against his will, leaving Mark behind at the moment he's seemingly killed by Owen and Murmur. Barry's quite upset about this and obviously Mark might be dead, but I think everyone's assuming he was killed a little too prematurely. Sure this is television, but we all know what comics are like about not seeing a body.
Roy's understandably mad about being dumped in the Pipeline for ages and wants revenge on Barry, but I'm curious if there's anything else he's getting from his current employment…for that matter, what are any Rogues getting from it besides the cool tech? Maybe that's enough, but it'd be nice if their motives were made more clear. I'm glad Roy's still wearing his sunglasses, as the best thing this show has ever done with him is the subtle demonstration of his disability: his light sensitivity, which is typical with achromatopsia. It's also possible the glasses have filters in them which somewhat increase his colour vision.
Anyway, maybe we'll see if Mark really is dead or just got his ass kicked, and whether he wants anything to do with Team Flash if he is alive. He clearly volunteered to be left behind to let them escape, but it still sucks that he was abandoned to his fate when Barry didn't want to leave him. And I still think he's owed an apology for the destruction of his and Caitlin's equipment on two occasions, acts which set both of them on this particularly desperate path. (And Mark owes Khione an apology for trying to push her into something she explicitly didn't want.) I'm a sucker for redemption arcs and happy endings though, so I hope he's alive and things work out for everyone in the end.
