i wish i could figure out basic skincare (like just washing your face and shit) but every video I've seen is using like 5 brand name american products that i have no idea what the equivalent of is where i live. Like i just wanna do the most basic shit to take care of myself but half the soap i look at the bottles of don't even seem to tell you what they're for?

For years i didn't wash my face because i heard it was a specific process but i had no clue so i just rinsed it with water in the shower. i still have no idea what I'm doing or if I'm doing it right. i just use a soap that says "facial" on the bottle. like that goes on your face right?

and like you could say "just google it" but most things either use brands i don't have access to/can't afford or just simply do not explain the steps. is it really that expensive? is it really that complicated???

When I was a child (starting around grade three), we had about a week of "library class" in which they exclusively taught us how to use reference books and search engines. This was a routine thing that happened every year. Even in college, a lot of 100-level courses would have a library day (usually right after the first research paper is assigned) where they run you through the resources available to you at the university library.

Are we not doing that anymore? Teaching kids how to "look things up?"

I mean, admittedly, I was an ND kid who looooved Library Time and hung on the librarians' every word. Most of the kids... did not, especially if they thought they already knew how to Google things. But that seems like an increasingly critical thing to teach kids, since we're RAPIDLY moving away from needing to have info memorized for quick access, to being able to look it up instantly.

When I used to do author school visits, in the middle schools there was always one Very Serious kid who asked what classes a writer should take, and I treasure the looks on their faces when I said: "Typing." Touch typing not only made the physical part of creating a submittable manuscript as easy as possible (and honestly typing on a computer keyboard after learning on a manual? Soooo easy - you had to put your back into some of those school machines), it was the basis of every day job I ever had. How people stand to hunt and peck all day long I will never understand.

Like the arts and home ec and shop, basic office skills classes should be standard parts of the school curriculum. Modern kids cannot count on learning these things at home and should not be forced to self-learn on the job.

This is a subject that really interests me because I (28 years old) had computer classes in grade school where learning how to efficiently type was a big focus. As a result I have a very high WPM (words per minute) count.

However, I've heard that they started phasing out computer classes in a lot of schools because it's assumed that kids/teenagers already know how to use a computer in this day and age. But smartphones are more popular than computers now, and as result a lot of Gen Z/Gen Alpha kids are able to text very quickly but their typing skills aren't as good.

I don't know how many times we have to say this but this is because the United States of America does not have public transit in any form that a European would recognize as such outside of a few very small, highly-dense municipal locations like NYC and Chicago, and having used both those systems and the U-Bahn i can firmly assert that the U-Bahn blows American subways into smithereens. we especially do not have accessible interstate passenger train service outside of that one commuter Amtrak loop in the northeast. the country is designed to force its citizens to use cars and only cars, and the government has made it policy to incentivize car ownership since the 1940s and punish any other form of transit, including just walking around. do you understand? the vast majority of roads here do not have bike lanes. when we do have bike lanes they are not protected by a curb or divider, they are just white lines painted on the asphalt. you will regularly encounter roads and streets--inside of cities and suburbs, not just in rural areas--that do not have sidewalks

Okay okay so. I found this (checks the box) Gundam Aerial Model Kit? Look at this thing. It is basically already Drift. It has really similar type of figure and even finals:D I still need to find a way to make his massive shoulder plates though.
