Woke up today with visions of a new WIP.

The Owl House characters in a Code Lyoko -esque setting/story, in a similar vein as the Owl House X Adventure Time fusion Owlventure Time! by GoreMiser (its a good read, and almost complete, for a certain definition of "complete"), only in this case it'd also be sort of a Swap AU, putting Luz on the magical otherworld and the hexolios on Earth.

...Actually, given the almost-a-Swap-AU-ness, perhaps a better comparison would be the Owl House X Steven Universe fusion Seashells and Stars by Unniebeans (another good read, though nowhere near completion).

Anyways, Amity would replace Jeremie as the guy in the chair; Gus, Willow, and Hunter would replace Odd, Yumi, and Ulrich as the ones primarily on the front line; Luz and King would split the role of Aelita as the amnesiac kids stuck in the machine; Belos would replace X.A.N.A. as the BBEG (obviously); Eda would replace Franz as the creator of not!Lyoko (and once-guardian of the kids in the machine); and Boscha would replace Sissy as the nosy bully (and unwelcome suitor).

Members of the Hagsquad would also be sprinkled throughout the faculty of Hexside (which replaces Kadic), such as Lilith as the history teacher and Raine as the music teacher, and I've got A Few Ideas about Camila replacing Dorothy/Yolanda as the school nurse. Basically, I think it'd be neat to have a bunch of characters with ties to the supercomputer but who are nonetheless unaware of its existence.

I might leave Jim as Jim though, both because TOH doesn't have a similar character to replace him with, and because he's just kinda fantastic. I think he and Steve would be besties.

I would probably also incorporate ideas from my Code Lyoko rewrite, a backburner project I may or may not have mentioned here once or twice.

For instance, Franz (or in this case, Eda) retiring from whatever sketchy military thing to become a game developer rather than a science teacher, with Lyoko (or, whatever I call this not!Lyoko) as the world of the overly-ambitious-game-turned-haven. Maybe also the initial attempts at materialization ending up a bit crude, and leaving Aelita (or, in this case, Luz) with characteristics of her virtual avatar for her first season's-worth of trips to Earth.

The color image uses red, green and blue pixels. Each of them is treated as a separate channel. Sometimes, for marketing purposes, companies specify the number of bits is not entirely correct. For example, the 8-bit display mode is classified as 24-bit “True Color” (3 channel colors, 8 bits each, 3 x 8 = 24). In accordance with this methodology, “Deep Color” (30–48 bits) actually provides from 10 to 16 bits for each color.

Most modern TVs have an 8-bit matrix that uses the RGB system. Red, green and blue colors create a full range of colors and their shades. Of course, many companies experiment in this direction. For example, LG uses WRGB system with additional white in its OLED models.

For example, an 8-bit matrix can display 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 256 color shades for each of the three colors. Then, the number of possible combinations will be 256 x 256 x 256 = 16,777,216 or 16.7 million colors. Accordingly, a 10 bit matrix displays 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 1024. Next, 1024 x 1024 x 1024 = 1.07 billion colors for each pixel. Of course, this value affects the realism of the displayed image.

FRC (Frame Rate Control) technology

Of course, the color depth directly affects the image quality and, accordingly, the price of TV. Therefore, companies have developed technology to increase color depth. 8-bit matrix displays the high-quality 10-bit content with lossy. Dithering or Frame rate control (FRC) technology partially solves this problem, forming an illusion of perception of the intermediate color shade. In this case, the TV algorithms display the missing colors with available palette, smoothing color gradients. In addition, engineers have improved this technology with the help of pixel blinking. Some time ago, someone (certainly a Mac user) dropped the phrase “Command Zero” as a parody of old Italian song “Comanchero” (Cmd+0 being a shortcut in some DTP program or other). I said that it sounds like a good title for a technothriller or a futuristic shooter (think: Binary Domain or Vanquish).

After experimenting with some futuristic fonts and gradients, I realized that Eurocorp in plain dark grey looked best. Then I slightly tweaked the design to black with cyan backlight, and fiddled with kerning and leading (C and D are separate characters from the rest, top line has tightened kerning and lead between the lines is shortened).

Then, I tried toying with Mechsuit, with duplicated layers containing the outline on top and fill underneath. The fill was embossed for that old-school feel - think early 90s video game boxes.

In high mass X-ray binaries (HMXBs), an accreting compact object orbits a high mass star which loses mass through a dense and inhomogeneous wind. Using the compact object as an X-ray backlight, the time variability of the absorbing column density in the wind can be exploited in order to shed light on the micro-structure of the wind and obtain unbiased stellar mass loss rates for high mass stars. We explore the impact of clumpiness on the variability of the column density with a simplified wind model. In particular, we focus on the standard deviation of the column density and the characteristic duration of enhanced absorption episodes, and compare them with analytical predictions based on the porosity length. We identified the favorable systems and orbital phases to determine the wind micro-structure. The coherence time scale of the column density is shown to be the self-crossing time of a clump in front of the compact object. We provide a recipe to get accurate measurements of the size and of the mass of the clumps, purely based on the observable time variability of the column density. The coherence time scale grants direct access to the size of the clumps while their mass can be deduced separately from the amplitude of the variability. If it is due to unaccreted passing-by clumps, the high column density variations in some HMXBs requires high mass clumps to reproduce the observed peak-to-peak amplitude and coherence time scales. These clump properties are hardly compatible with the ones derived from first principles. Alternatively, other components could contribute to the variability of the column density: larger orbital scale structures produced by a mechanism still to be identified, or a dense environment in the immediate vicinity of the accretor such as an accretion disk, an outflow or a spherical shell around the magnetosphere of the accreting neutron star.

For assessment 2 I have focused on the question about bad girls? Because, this group make everyone impressed by them dare to criticize and against existing convention.

 My rebellious years started from high school, I seem to have their own overnight ideals and pursuits, have their own direction in life, with its own unique personality. And I believed that which is striking and beautiful is not always good. Because, that role is always the coolest and most special one. Bad girls image was always out of step with the other girls. The opposite of all the good girl is not ugliness and indifference, it’s amazing and special.

 Harley Quinn is antagonists in the movie. She represents cruel and barbarous instinct whit clown. Harley Quinn is both the design of characters, hair, clothes and make-up are innovative, unique style. As the color is the character of the first body image design, good color matching clothing is designed to achieve effective character image basis. Therefore, blue side means piquant and cool, and red side means flamboyant style and vivacious. Moreover, she was a mental-health professional before she is falling in love with a monster-Joker. Harley is obsessed with the Joker, who was responsible for her transformation. Her changed temperaments and image. As a result, Harley Quinn is good example for constructed binaries including different personality and appearance especially red & blue side.

 At first, I plan to use photoshop make poster, even I already cosplay Harley Quinn. But I think use own form of painting to show that character better than matting and image synthesis. For my final poster, I research two artisits Silvia Bachli and Laura Callaghan. Silvia make some smooth and natural line with cold tones which looks simple and beautiful. In the background, I added more colors in the fluid line and change the thickness of the lines. In addition, I combine with Laura’s painting style to crate own Harley Quinn from my cos photo. Moreover, adding more contrast around the woman's head will work as an attention seeker, and I also applied a white backlight-rim around her and on the closest tentacles to link them to the black background. Behind the Harley's head there are four different portraits are painted with background. The big heart symbol of Harley’s love for Joker. And the baseball bat means her will and resistance. The gun present violence and loss of control. Finally, the red rose symbol of passion and the blue rose symbol of miracle.

 Furthermore, my inspiration comes from my high school period, because that time I think all the bad girl are very cool. Initially planned to draw a bad girl and a good girl, and the contrast the tone with the depth of the color to reflect the constructed binaries. However, I just find a girl who is a self-contradictory character - Harley. Therefore, I decide focus on drawing one girl. In addition, most people are familiar with this role which help people understand contradictory binaries.

 The impact of society shapes the behavior of individuals. (1) The traditional view is that men and women are at least binary opposition, in my second assignment I think the contradictory binaries and individual are also coexisting, my assignment point out a good example. She creates a new personality which totally different with Original personality, her two personalities is opposite in the same carrier body, which leads to the related things are opposite. Therefore, it is unity in the world, but it is a unity formed by the combination of opposites. (2)
