Consider this the emotional sibling of the Eddie Makes It Worse series.

"I have thought about it, you know," Eddie says, and Tommy nearly inhales the straw of his stupidly sweet cocktail. That's what he gets for always accepting the drinks Buck decides a sip in aren't to his taste.

Eddie gives him a hearty slap on the back, and continues before Tommy's done more than wheeze.

"I had to recontextualize like, seven years of my life after Buck met you. After you turned him into an insane person and also somehow a teenage girl with her first crush and no control or understanding of her emotions."

Tommy's too busy trying to stretch the knot out of his neck and breathe through his nose to call him out on gendering his comparisons. In his experience, boys are the ones committing violence for attention. Not the point. So not the point, and he breathed half an ounce of vodka on top of that.

"I'm - sorry, what did you have to think about?"

Tommy absolutely knows what he's talking about. Eddie absolutely knows he knows. It's not quite out of left field, but definitely center field facing a righty before the shift got banned.

"About Buck. Me and Buck. Us and our... thing."

The shock of Eddie being introspective about this enough to be able to articulate it is enough to keep him quiet. He's not a dumb man. Far from it. It's just - in Tommy's experience Eddie tends to avoid looking internally with the same fervor you try to avoid latrine duty.

Eddie's watching him. Waiting for a reaction. They've already done this song and dance, so Tommy's not entirely sure what to do with this. What reaction Eddie's looking for.

"Okay?" Tommy prods, and Eddie rolls his eyes like the diva he is.

"Okay so, I'm saying. I am 100% sure I'm very straight. Because after Buck came out I thought about it."

"What are you saying?" That's his uncontrollably bitchy tone, right there. His eyebrows are probably putting in work. Eddie seems...incredibly nonplussed.

"I'm saying I thought about it."

Tommy rewinds. Considers the context that got them here, at the bar top, gathering a round for the table...Russo, Hen and Karen, Evan... Karen had made some offhand comment about Eddie and Evan that had made Eddie's eyes dart to his like he was looking for signs that Tommy was wearing Nike Zooms.

"Sorry, are you taking this opportunity, in this moment, to tell me you're definitely straight because you fantasized about fucking my boyfriend?"

Two stools down, a woman wearing a pair of neon suspenders and steel toe boots flicks her eyes away from them in the mirror over the bar.

Eddie's eye roll is always a marvel to behold, but this one might take the cake as far as disdainful energy rolling off him like an aura goes.

"Yeah, like you were worried about the physical attraction."

"Are you saying there is physical attraction?" What the fuck. What the fuck. Where the hell is he going with this?

"I'm saying we're each other's next of kin and he's in my will and I may be more subtle about it but I'm just as weird about him as he is about me. It's, like, contagious, man."

Tommy has to give him that point. His insanity levels have increased exponentially since meeting Evan Buckley. Realizing that taking the lid off of that actually made them stronger as a couple had really opened things up.

"I was having a nice night," Tommy says, and tries to wrangle this conversation back into some semblance of order. "What, exactly, are you trying to tell me?" Eddie opens his mouth and Tommy has to stop himself from smacking his hand across his lips to prevent him from speaking. He points a finger, instead. "If you say you thought about it, I swear to Christ, Diaz..."

"I think Buck probably had a crush on me when we first met. You know - pulling the pigtails, desperate to know way too much about me, that kind of thing."

Great. Cool. Tommy's feeling really good about where this is going.

"And I think I fucking desperately needed someone to love me, no strings attached. And Buck - he did that. No question. Almost from the jump."

Tommy downs the rest of the cocktail in one go. Yep. Still as bad as he remembered.

"So. After you guys got together, I... added some context. You weren't the only one who thought he was pissed at me for finding a second friend."

"What was your conclusion, exactly?"

"He's my best friend, Tommy. Family, in a way no one else will ever come close to. If he called and asked if I had a shovel, I'd be researching endangered plant species before we even got off the phone."

Getting Eddie into true crime podcasts was a mistake. "Ride or die, yeah, we all know."

"See, I don't think you do, Tommy. I really don't think you do."

If they could get to the point, already, Tommy might not have to gouge his own eye out with the cocktail straw poking temptingly out of the empty glass in front of him.

"Because as much as I care about him, as much as he cares about me - we'd never be what the other needed. I'm too in my own head all the time. He's - way too needy." Tommy wants to contest this assassination of his boyfriends character, but Eddie seems like he might actually be meandering somewhere near the point. "And, yeah, sure, I did once attempt to figure out if I was attracted to him."

Jesus fucking Christ. They're in a bar. They have an audience, at this point, even if it is just the lesbian couple two stools over and the bartender who's either needs to tap a new keg or learn how to pour without creating a drink that's mostly head.

"My point is the only reason you should be concerned about me is if you ever piss Buck off bad enough for him to need an alibi."

The words come out before he's had time to filter them through his brain. "Did you get off?"

Yeah. The cocktail was mostly vodka, but there's no way in hell he can blame that entirely on alcohol. He'd had a wallowing jack-off or two featuring more than just Evan, in the months he'd drive past Evan's loft hoping for some rain and for Sia to organically pop up on his Spotify station.

Eddie slides a shot of tequila in Tommy's direction. He doesn't remember ordering those. "You'd like that, wouldn't you?"

"Edmundo."

"Thomathan."

Tommy takes the shot without bothering to cheers him. He doesn't deserve the time it would take for his mouth to form the "Salute". Hell, he's not even worthy of a "Cin Cin", not with his face doing whatever it's doing right now.

"Tell Buck he's welcome from me," Eddie says, and before Tommy can do much more than blink he's gathering up all but Tommy and Evan's drinks to take them back to their table.

This feels like a mind game. He isn't sure whether he's meant to be grateful, or murderous. Two stools down, Suspenders swivels to stare at him. "You look like you just got slapped in the face with a fish," she says. The bartender eyes him like she might be thinking of pouring him another shot.

"Hi," Evan says, directly into his ear, and Tommy jolts. "Eddie said you were right behind him. Did your arms stop working?"

"Just his brain, honey," Suspenders chimes in. The woman to her left titters into her hand.

"Give it to me straight," Tommy says, and Suspenders snorts into her drink. "Has Eddie told you about his Thinking About It process?"

"Oh, with the trying to picture enjoying me naked?"

Tommy pinches his nose and makes a valiant effort to ignore the hand slapping down on the bar top to his left, the canned attempt at hiding a choked laugh. "Sure. That. Normal best friend things."

"If it makes you feel any better, I think I got even less enjoyment out of it than he did."

Suspenders wheezes.

"You did it together?"

"Gross, Tommy."

"Oh, sure, I'm the one reacting weirdly to this."

"If it makes you feel any better, we were broken up. And the only reason I even thought of it was - you know. Tech- technically your fault. You were the one wining and dining my straight best friend while I was trying to get your attention."

Suspenders girlfriend is having a conveniently timed coughing fit.

"Am I having a stroke?" Tommy asks, but it comes out perfectly coherent, so knock that off the list.

"Do you wanna go home?" Evan has the ability to switch moods on a dime. Tommy's really never seen someone so good at it. "I can settle the tab. I - are you okay? Do you need - water, or - " he's reaching for a stool " - or we can sit."

Tommy's been resistant to being taken care of since he can remember. There's something to the way Evan approaches it - purposeful, the opposite of effortless - that makes Tommy want to crumble like a house of cards. He snags Evan's wrist in his hand. "Evan."

As usual, that's all it takes to still him, for a moment. The cheeks rise, the dimples grow more prominent, his eyes alight on Tommy's like he's seeing something worth looking at.

"I love you. Your best friend is insane and you're half a step behind him, and I love you."

It's not the first time. Thank fuck, that would be a terrible way to drop that bomb. But it's still new enough not to be casual. New enough to make Evan's cheeks burn a rosy pink.

Evan smirks. "You wanna get out of here?"

He'd been enjoying a conversation with Karen, twenty minutes ago, but he doubts he'd be able to form a single coherent thought anymore. The green demon he's kept under wraps for forever now has somehow both gone dormant and is currently trying to convince him to toss Evan over his shoulder and make a break for it.

Tommy makes eye contact with the bartender. Raps his knuckles against the bar top.

Evan's grin goes a little feral.

That’s real art.” Will style your hair masculine one day, then help you hang pastel garlands the next. You know how Jeonghan is? He's so masculine one day and the other is a softie babygirl? That's exactly you but your your softie babygirl persona can only be seen by your close people.

Seungkwan: Screams the first time he walks into your room. “EXCUSE ME—YOU LIVE IN A STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE EPISODE?!” He’s soooooooooo dramatic about it, but also takes selfies with your plushies and from that day, he buys you matching robes. “I thought you were gonna arm-wrestle me, but you knit flower coasters???” He's shocked but finds this so damn attractive to the point he just want you to sjkjksksdf.

Vernon: He’s into it, all of it. “You dress like a skater boy but your room looks like a K-pop idol’s Vlive backdrop?” He loves your energy and goes, “You’re like… the main character in five genres at once.” He knows it because he watches lots of movies. He just finds you so cool, like really cool. And the contrast is a very big turn on for him!

Dino: Mentally high-fives himself every time he looks at you lmao. You look like you’d break someone’s knees, but then again, you have sparkly lip glosses organized by color—that leaves him impressed all the time. Tries to act chill but is obsessed with how you balance it all.

Penzey's is local to me, & I can confirm, they've got good spices & have been (afaik) consistently outspoken about being anti-bigotry & especially about calling out republicans & other conservatives on being actively detrimental to society.

Some of my faves that I highly recommend (& will be grabbing some of today):

Ancho Chili Pepper (Ground)

This stuff is incredible & one of my Must Haves from Penzey's because I haven't found another ground ancho chili that does the exact same things. It's rich & ever so slightly smokey & extremely flavourful, but has no heat (which is where other ground ancho chilis I've tried differ). I love it for being able to get that rich chili pepper flavour & control it separate from spicy heat, as I have several people in my life who are hyper sensitive to capsaicin for various reasons. I really fell in love with this for using in homemade baked mac & cheese. It adds a level of dimension that makes the cheesiness pop without messing with the fat to starch balance (which I found just adding cheese does at some point). I actually will toss a pinch in a pot of boxed mac & cheese with a handful of shredded cheese to elevate the flavour with extremely minimal effort.

Justice Blend

This ground mix of onions, garlic, shallots, chives, green onions, & green peppercorn is salt-free & an awesome go to for adding to anything you think needs some allium assistance without needing to actually prepare any alliums. I like to add it to pasta or seasoned rice in particular, but I'll throw it in anything with a compatible flavour profile tbh. Like, a few shakes of this is pretty bomb in instant ramen or mixed with oil or butter (& salt!) on veggies.

Sandwich Sprinkle

Penzey's does have a Pasta Sprinkle that I know is popular (& that a lot of my family members are fans of), but I am more partial to using Sandwich Sprinkle for pasta instead. When I've got pretty much no ability to actually think about food but want something yummy, a bowl of whatever easily procured pasta/noodles with some butter & a few shakes of this is a go to. Also, unlike their Pasta Sprinkle, Sandwich Sprinkle does have salt, so it's an easy one & done seasoning.

Pure Vanilla Extract

Ngl, I am a bit of a snob when it comes to vanilla extract. Blame it on most of my baking being things so finicky & labor intensive, I insist on using good shit, & my grandmother using Penzey's Double Strength Pure Vanilla Extract as long as I can remember. While I don't bake much anymore 'cause my body can't handle the things I wanna bake, I do have two tiers of vanilla extract: 1. whatever pure vanilla extract I can find for a good price for everyday use in like oatmeal or whatever & 2. The Good Shit, Penzey's Single Strength Pure Vanilla Extract for when I wanna be ~*~fancy~*.

Cinnamon

You like cinnamon? Penzey's has so many varieties with distinct flavour profiles & they all are delicious. They used to have a cinnamon sampler I thought was awesome, but I can't find it on the site, so honestly, I'd just say grab a couple of samples/small jars that sound appealing to try. I like to have the Ceylon & the Korintje on hand personally, but they're all hella delicious.

My Opinion on Daphne

I first learned about the Molotochniki back in march 2023 and since then ive been researching about this case a lot. I think that this is one of the most interesting cases that I found since there is still so much to uncover and even to this day we find new information and theorize about them.

Like most tcc members, I take a break from it for a couple weeks or days and join again whenever i feel like it. The last time i joined again, which was in November 2024, I learned that Artyom is about to get married with someone. At first this sounded very made up to me, but then i started reading posts about this on reddit and it all just felt very random/off to me.

I joined Daphnes discord server, which had an obviously AI-generated group picture, multiple vent channels, and lots of people in it. I cant really remember how many people were in there but probably something over 100.

I went into the general chat where a person was talking how they used to live in irkutsk before the murders happened. They assumed Nikita had a crush on their mother and that he acted all shy around her. This was just painful to read tbh and i wish i had taken ss of those messages. The person who said that could not even speak russian at all and had some mlp profile picture.

It shocked me how many people took that seriously and how no one even thought about that nikita was extremely depressed and barely talked to anyone but Artyom at school. The amount of misinformation that was being spread in that server was mind blowing.

Now on to Daphne, she would talk about random things, mostly stuff like “I just made a smoothie!” or send pictures of the most random things like a wedding veil with a russian text that said “This is beautiful.”. She posted most of those images in her TG group and chatted more to people on the discord.

In the dc group she would very randomly send weird texts in which she was talking about “finding inner peace” or something with harmony, i cant exactly remember what she was writing but it was all just very weird, probably AI-generated texts about some spiritual shit.

In the general chat she would mostly rant about how she was being sent threats etc by tcc members telling her that shes lying about that entire thing with artyom, or she would pick images of him from the Molotochniki VK group and post them in the chat with captions like “hes so cute here!” “he looks like a baby!”.

She wrote a comment on reddit in which she said that she would visit artyom in december 2023, mind you, Artyom is in Vologda Oblast and daphne is in the netherlands, which is about a 2100-3000 km long distance. I attached screenshots of what she said to this post. She also stated that Artyom did not want a traditional wedding but rather a wedding where you just sign the papers. Its just so weird and i cant bring myself to believe to what she is saying.

Like why is she talking about some global politics gas shit and then about the priosn artyom is in? There is just so much unnecessary info spammed in each post, like you cant tell me that they arent AI generated or just completely made up.

Ok so I just finished reading “Be the Death of Me” by @seriouslycalamitous, and I now have several headcanons for what other mcyt characters could be gods within this universe. Some of these will have somewhat thought out explanations and a couple will be based on vibes.

Ok first off we have Techno, this one’s gonna be pretty obvious but he’s known as the blood god, more specially god of war, slaughter, and insanity. He’s also Ren’s brother bc they’re kinda two sides of the same coin, Ren’s got the more tactical, logical side of things, while Techno’s domain is tied quite closely with with chaos, and is therefore generally very feared, but still more well-respected than Scar mainly because of his association with Ren. Techno often takes the form of a pigman as a nod to the phrase “pig to the slaughter” except in this case he’s usually the one doing the slaughtering.

Next we have Pearl who is goddess of the hunt. Think Artemis vibes but a bit more bloody and unhinged. She 100% has a pack of wolves that follows her everywhere.

Gem is goddess of fauna, aka animals. This technically includes humans but they’re like her least favorite. She appears in the form of a faun.

Also Gem and Pearl had like an eons long enemies-to-lovers slowburn where they hated each others guts bc their domains are like opposites but they kept running into each other bc their domains are also intrinsically intertwined. (Yk food chain and stuff)

C!Ranboo, god of loneliness and uncertainty. Pretty self-explanatory I would say.

Also C!Niki, goddess of rage, she is not much of a hothead as one might assume, but a well-controlled, simmering pit of rage waiting for an opportune moment to strike from behind a deceivingly sweet demeanor. She often works in tandem with Techno.

Kristin, goddess of night and darkness, Philza is her harbinger (and unlike Grian, he was an avian even before he became immortal loll)

Slimecicle, god of strangeness. He enjoys appearing in his natural form (green goop) because it makes people confused and uncomfortable. He has however, on several occasions, accidentally killed mortals by doing so and causing their brains to slip so much they explode.

I think that’s all for now but maybe I’ll come up with more!!

And of course these are all just my personal ideas/headcanons, probably none of them will actually end up as canon to the story and that’s totally fine, just thought I’d share. :)

This feels so obvious to me that elaborating on it feels genuinely awkward. I've re-written this like three times now to try and avoid sounding like an overdramatic lunatic, but maybe I'll just risk sounding like an overdramatic lunatic:

This Celestial on the right is 100 percent Starstruck's past self. She has the same forehead symbol. A mask shaped like a Waddle Dee's face - that heart-motif that is Galacta's motif, isn't it? That's his symbol she's wearing on her face. They're sharing marriage ribbons - the way they're talking, the names for each other.

This is clearly someone significant from Galacta's past. Someone he'd come to try and kill, if he wanted to sever ties for further strength.

That is just flowery speculation on my part, that last observation, but! I am gesticulating wildly at the silly feathered orb and declaring her Bigger Starstruck. Smaller Starstruck can't even look at her - she's dreading the sight of these two so much, but her vision is breaking around the Celestial on the right specifically. And it makes sense, that she'd dread the sight of her. What's the thing Starstruck is afraid she might have been, after all?

Someone bad.

And the ancient Celestials don't sound like they were especially nice folk. And one that's tight with Galacta? We've seen in other AUs what kind of person Galacta is. Maybe it's different in the past, but he's consistently been an asshole. Probably a war criminal. Absolutely a manipulative, conniving villain.

And Big Starstruck is in a villain couple with him.

She was someone bad.

No wonder she's in tears. No wonder she can't look at her old self's face.

(Also notice how those trailing feathers look an awful lot like Starstruck's ribbons? Or how this explains Starstuck's bird autism? Or how the "room for your phantom limbs" line makes an awful lot of sense if she used to have wings? Or - look -

She has a star symbol on her pauldrons. She has a star motif.

With a mix of her grandma's clothes in there as well because we love giving life to hand me downs👏

I just personally can't see her buying from big companies or fast fashion especially with how she is in the show.

I think she branches out a bit and gets more comfortable in making her style really fit her with experimenting (Romantic or Victorian goth Sam would be great)

To be honest I am a huge Nalu shipper. But the thing is I want to know the difference between the way Natsu cares about his guildmates and Lucy. Like what is the obvious difference since that boy sees every as Nakama so how can we say that the wag he cares about Lucy is different?

Like even when Erza passed away? (All the way back in first season there was a segment where the guild was gathered at her grave and all) Natsu was still very reactive. Plus he was also said to be depressed even when Lisanna passed.

What's the difference between all of them and Lucy?

but then, Lucy doesn't leave. she follows him on his mission to save Macao despite her not needing to or even really understanding everything about it. she stays and then fights with him and saves him. it's no secret that Natsu is strong and can take care of himself really well. he's been going on solo missions for years now, and no one has really stopped him, but that means he's been in a lot of sticky situations where he and Happy are on their own and have no backup. and yet, without asking, Lucy offers it

and i think this is the moment when Natsu considers that maybe it's okay to have someone there to have his back (sans Happy)

"but Natsu only needed Lucy for the next quest because of the requirements," well, Natsu also wouldn't have taken or even considered that quest if it weren't for Lucy, yeah? he was not a team player (in the picking job's sense) or really wanted other people to help him on his quests sans Happy. and then he goes and picks a job that caters to their team whilst ensuring that Lucy can't say no

or maybe i'm reading too much into it 🤷🏻‍♀️

or maybe Natsu's got horrible abandonment issues that he will latch onto people so fast (Igneel & Lisanna) but also cause him to distance himself so far when left behind (his 1st time at the guild, Lisanna's death). Erza and Gray are Natsu's closet friends after Lisanna and yet they cannot reach him when he closes himself off. and then we have Lucy, who stuck by and had his back, so who is to say Natsu didn't make some contingencies to ensure whether or not she'd join him?

but maybe it's the rose, colored ship glasses i have on

because yeah, Natsu cares for all of his guildmates. the power of friendship is his biggest motivator. when we meet Natsu, our first introductions of him is defending his guild's reputation from Bora (who was using it as a guise for human trafficking) and saving Macao. and our 1st big arc (Galuna Island), where Natsu adamantly refuses to allow Gray to use Ice Shell and sacrifice himself despite how antagonistic they've been to each other. we get Natsu 100% at Erza's defense throughout the Tower of Heaven and he is even ready to defend Wendy though they only met hours ago

Natsu is a character with a bleeding heart and cannot help but wear it on his sleeve, but we don't really see him allow others to fight his battles or have his back until Lucy comes in. to be honest, i don't even think he had his heart on his sleeve until Lucy. he still has a bleeding heart (i don't think anything could stop that), but he was not ready to be open in receiving company because he was so used to it being ripped away from him

that being said: of all the characters he interacts with, he finds Lucy to be someone compatible enough for him to start going on team missions and inviting her on them (for example, his 1st S-class mission, which he stole, he went to her house to show it to her. the fact that part of the reward was a celestial key might be a coincidence, but i wouldn't doubt it as Natsu and Happy's trump card in case she refused)

but yeah, the difference is that he stayed and didn't push her away at the beginning, but instead continued to invite her along with him to the point that doing a mission without Lucy wasn't his regular anymore. compared to the rest of the guild, of whom he spent most of his childhood with, even if he spoke to no one, they would still be around and talk to him anyway. he might not invite them on job and only challenge them to fights, but the guild is his home and a constant in his life, a constant he needs (bc heavy abandonment issues).

"okay, but he still pushed her away after he watched Igneel die right in front of him. and he left the guild for a whole year, too. so what's the difference there?" you may ask.

so 1) Natsu never thought the guild would disband. he returns to Fiore after a year and is the last to know that they disbanded. he assumed, like all the other times before and while he and others were sealed for 7 years, that Fairy Tail would still be there when he returned. he assumed that his disappearance would not impact so hard because the guild would still be around and Lucy would have the others with her

which, did not happen :)

and like, so many guild members go off on jobs, quests, or even just leave for an indiscriminate amount of time (which i, personally, believe was his rationality for leaving), so him being gone for a year was nothing! right? no harm, eh? his plan was never to be gone forever :))))

2) he just watched his father die and lose any chance of having some semblance of a long term reunion with Igneel. he literally lost one of his main driving motivations for getting stronger and taking jobs. before Fairy Tail, before anyone, it was Igneel. and to learn that a) Igneel was always with him to begin with and b) he only got to see him for less than a day after 14 years of nothing......i would feel lost too ngl

man's needed space from everybody. and he also needed comfort, but Natsu has been shown not to really be the character who asks to receive comfort (and when he does receive it, it's usually when he's already emotionally compromised). he is in the habit of shutting people out after being abandoned or losing someone close to him, with his next rationale being to "get stronger" in order to prevent what happened in the past to ever happen in the future.

anyway

what makes this different? well for one, he sent the letter only to Lucy (or it's implied since no one else is shown getting one) because of how the two spend most of their time together. even the line that goes with the panel makes it sound like Natsu is unsure on how the note will be received (maybe even hesitant? but that could be my own hopes)

and one of the 1st people he reunites with after a year is Lucy and we get such a similar parallel to the first chapter of Fairy Tail between the two as if the narrative itself is slotting them together to say "ah yes, now everything is back to normal and new journeys can begin"

but yeah, this is just a long way of saying, that Natsu does love his friends and guildmates but even when he is close to them, he kept to himself (and Happy) and sort of stayed in their orbit but always with some emotional distance because of his fear of abandonment. and then you have Lucy where he will stay for and allow her to orbit around him and he will invite to new adventures no questions asked

that's the difference

Live Emotion Song Spreadsheet Project

I've started putting together a simple spreadsheet of song information for the game in hopes it'll be useful for the various events we get!

Includes: Singer(s), Song Titles, Length, and Note Count for all the difficulties!

It's also color coded by Singer color(s) and the difficulty, PLUS it's set up so the songs involved in the current event will be highlighted for easy comparisons too~

Currently we have: - All current event songs, Easy+Normal+Hard (4/6 have Expert) - All Group/Duo/Trio songs, Easy+Normal (1 has Hard)

I would love to ask for your help filling out things much faster! If you happen to know any note totals for any of the songs (or just have a screenshot of ur score page) please let me know!!!

Hard+Expert notes are most appreciated as I personally only just started doing those higher difficulties after the last event so those will take me the longest for me to get through. But anything and everything you guys can provide regardless of what difficulty is appreciated and will save me so much time!!

headcanon for Douglas x Oliver. And also, Douglas is so beautiful

Ohhhh yes, Douggie and Oliver, I think I've got at least a few for them! x'D Buckle up, I'm boutta ramble LOLL ~ Headcanons for 10x11 ~ - They were pretty much smitten when they first met; Douglas thought Oliver was incredibly brave, strong and "an enterprising engine", while Oliver, ofc, was extremely grateful to Douglas for his rescue.

(Also cuz I mean look at "Escape", did you see the way they looked at each other? Instantly smitten for sure. xD) - Toad was/is the ultimate wingman (or wingvan?) for them.

-Things were a little rocky at first; Oliver was still unpacking quite a traumatic experience and dealing with a rough-ish start on Sodor. And he struggles with the nagging question of whether or not he liked Douglas because of who he was or just because he rescued him.

-Though it's a little awkward and uncertain, once they overcome the initial bumps and start talking they hit it off very well, easily becoming good friends. After that everything just sort of... falls into place.

-Literally everyone knew they liked each other (there were many a gushing rant from both of them about the other lol). - They don't really use "pet names" for each other. Though Oliver is one of only two engines on the island that's allowed to call Douglas "Douggie".

-Ironically, Oliver is way more protective of Douglas then vice versa, though Douglas does still have his moments.

-They spend whatever time they can get together just... talking. They talk endlessly about anything and everything. They love sharing in each others experiences, both past and present, and enjoy a solid sense of comradery.

-They understand each other better then almost anyone else, especially when it comes to their fears about scrap. They know they can always confide in the other about pretty much anything.

Their favourite things about each other are;

Douglas about Oliver: His determination, his unbreakable spirit, how reliable and trustworthy he is. Plus he's got such an adorable face. (and eyes that are very easy to get lost in xD)

Oliver about Douglas: His husky laugh (especially with the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles), the way he laughs at pretty much anything, how level-headed and patient he is, and especially that softer, sentimental side to him.

-Donald still teases Douglas to no end about "makin' goo-goo eyes at wee Ollie", but he's still incredibly supportive. He's mostly just happy his brother found someone who makes him so happy. uwu

-Donald has also told Oliver exactly what he'd do if he hurts his brother, but they were mostly just jokes... mostly. xD

They can really understand each others traumas and experiences, and I 100% see them as just one of the sweetest, most affectionate, couples. (At least as far as trains can go xD)

i wish i wasnt so particular with modding games. i want to finally commit to a stardew valley 1.6 playthrough but i struggle to find a balance between mods and vanilla... i feel similar with the sims, where mods make me feel kind of heavy while i'm playing, but i feel restricted without the customization options given with cc. at least with the sims though i'm used to it and know how to find a good balance

it's probably why i've always been able to commit more to stardew when i play it on switch instead, bc i don't even have the option to mod it so it's kind of out of sight out of mind. but then when i want to decorate my farm i end up feeling immense fomo over custom buildings and map reclolors and stuff :/ so then i start a playthough w mods on pc and never make it past summer y1 because i'm overwhelmed w options and updating mods and the like. it's frustrating lmao and then i just don't play at all and do other stuff w my free time instead
