The clone thing happened later when Danny was 16 and when it happened he did not let them die. While he was sad to see Dani go he knew he would not be able to hide her. He also knew that it would have been safer to let her take the 4 core but he wanted her to be free and not have to worry about her siblings.

Danny either keeps the cores in his body or he hides them in a small bag if he needs to fight, he was able to keep them safe for several months before his parents caught on and tried to take and destory them. They called his babies parasites, Danny was able to escape with none of them getting distorted he moved from city to city keeping away from both his parents and the Giw who his parents told that several ghost are using his body as energy and are mind controlling him.

He had been doing Okay moveing from city to city his four ghostling healing have slowed way down because he no longer had enough energy to give them and he is constantly caring at least two in a bag and switching them out to give what little energy he had. Sadly it got worse when he got to Gotham or more accurate when he was getting ready to leave Dani had found him and to his horror was destabilizing.

*up on olympus*

zeus: *bored outta his godly mind after 20 years of entertainment (especially those last 10 years)*

zeus: *suddenly struck with an idea*

zeus: *to no one in particular* i think i’m going to go pay my brother a visit… just to check on how he is…

zeus: *disappears in a flash of lightning*

hera: *entering the room*

hera: *stares at the scorch marks on the ground where zeus just was*

hera: *to herself* as long as its nothing to do with a woman or illegitimate child… then i don’t care.

*below the sea in poseidon’s palace*

*poseidon enjoying some peace and quiet; when in a flash, zeus on one of his very rare visits, appears in front of him*

zeus: *looking around the room* so… how are things?

I'm realizing why I kind of prefer the Jonny-written episodes (and Alex too so far) to the guest-written episodes. Jonny horror? It's creepy. It's gross. It sends a shiver up your spine while you're listening and makes you go 'well that was fucked up' when it ends.

And it's fun. It makes me like being scared, and then I can put it aside and go to sleep afterward.

The guest writers have been going for the fucking throat. I'm scared to turn off my light after those episodes, let alone sleep. It's the kind of horror that makes me remember why I'm not, in general, a horror person.

And don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying those episodes. They're interesting stories and I like the way they've been written and told. But I'm scared of needles, and Mr. Needles himself was an absolute delight to meet. I've never been scared of violins before, but I couldn't close my eyes for three hours after that episode because every time I did adrenaline would shoot through me at the idea of what was lurking in the darkness.

This ramble is going nowhere but I've seen a few other people saying Protocol is scaring them more than Archives did so I thought folks might relate.

1: actor eddie x publicist steve where eddie is notoriously obnoxious at every public appearance in an effort to self sabotage to the point of not having to attend them anymore vs pr industry famous publicist steve whose whole schtick is somehow having his clients so whipped that when he tells them not to embarrass him they have no choice but to obey.

eddie doesn't even realize it's happened until he's being interviewed on a red carpet and he thanks the interviewer before he leaves.

and 2, the polar opposite: actor eddie whose publicist is now out of a job bc his new pop star singer boyfriend has him so wrapped around his finger he wouldn't dare embarrass him and therefore has wiped his public image squeaky clean without attending a single nda meeting
