Anyway, I'm in too deep at this point, and I need to say something. The problem lately when it comes to takes is with the "I love buddie too, but" crowd. Because suddenly everything is a criticism, it is not respecting canon or the characters, simply because the person on the other side now is a guy. We have been using the "I misunderstood the assignment" thing since Buck said it but I can't say that Buck doesn't understand his own feelings anymore because he's dating a guy. We have been talking about the emotional infidelity since the dawn of time but now I can't because the other person's a guy. We have discussed the way they prioritize each other and significant others have the right to be upset about it, but now I can't, even though, since this is the relationship that comes with the awareness that Buck is attracted to men, it would be perfectly reasonable if that became a conflict. I was writing these analysis when it was Natalia last hiatus but I never had anyone in my inbox "oh, I love buddie too but you need to respect the way Buck chose Natalia, he already bought a couch so you need to accept it is probably never gonna happen, it's very disrespectful that you don't accept that Buck is in a relationship." We have been writing these things the whole time and I could say it when it was Taylor even though Buck said he loved her, he was living with her, I was saying this shit when it was Marisol and Eddie was asking her to move in and she was always around Chris, but I can't say that now because Buck has been in 3 and half dates? You wanna have fun with the canon m/m couple, that's your prerogative, power to you, but this whole idea that I need to accept anything just because there's another man involved is ridiculous. The whole "the buddies need to chill" thing is getting on my nerves. We always had these types of takes. Why do I need to adjust the way I behave and analyse the show when Tommy is like, the 8th love interest we've been through so far?

Ngl, I kinda wish Mihoyo made Sora the protagonist for Part 2, instead of introducing a totally new cast...

Sora would've been such a good choice because she'd be a perfect bridge between these two eras of Honkai 3rd! Old enough to remember a world with Honkai, but young enough to experience a world without Honkai.

Sora even has a connection with the original protagonists, but she's also independent enough that the story can move forward with the OG cast moving into a support role while Sora & the Valks of her generation step up and take their place.

Sora was orphaned by Honkai so her life has already been shaped by it, yet she's also growing up in a post-Honkai world and should be at the age of a typical Valkyrie by the time the Sky People arrive. We learned that Lyle was part of the Roost so she already has a connection in that way, and Lyle even mentions her in APHO 2. Plus Sora has a stigma so she already has a natural source of power and a lot of potential for growth. Plus there's Mark 2!!

We even got to see Sora again in Part 1.5, right at the start of the Salt Snow Holy City arc. I was thinking "oh wow, is Mihoyo setting up Sora to be the protagonist for Part 2?? that'd be perfect!" but no. i was mistaken :/

I'm still willing to give Part 2 of HI3rd a chance, but now I'm kinda disappointed we didn't get Sora as the next protagonist :(

I don't really have any new insights that are different from what others have already been talking about, but thanks for asking!! I'll also add my sophisticated opinions on what I personally hope they'll do (in my delusional daydreams)

Joel - what I think he'll do: probably radio, cringy tiktoks and 2-3 more covers and trying not to lose his mind (same girl same) - what I hope he'll do: take a (proper) social media break, go somewhere warm and sunny, maybe tan a bit, BE HAPPY 😭 and ooooh maybe some modelling 👀

Joonas - what I think he'll do: he talked about maybe doing a podcast at some point so I guess that's gonna be his solo project - what I hope he'll do: something fashion-related maybe? and if he'll indeed do the podcast, I'll hope he'll host all his bandmates as guests and give us crumbs 🥺

Niko - what I think he'll do: I suppose he'll work on his other creative projects (writing) while also focusing on music, perhaps via Minna's career more than his own stuff, but probably for his own amusement as well + record label stuff - what I hope he'll do: idk man, I just hope he gets to live as a hermit for as long as he needs to because apparently that's what he really wants! and maybe they get another cat to play with Rommi 🥰

Aleksi - what I think he'll do: music production and spending looooooooooooooooooooooooots of time in his studio doing whatever (and fighting the urge to make social media posts whenever he's bored so maybe he just texts Olli instead) + record label stuff. I doubt he'll do any solo gigs as Alex Mattson, but if he does, you can bet me and my girlies will be there 😌 - what I hope he'll do: bring back the twitch streams (not gonna happen), take up any (LITERALLY ANY) joint project with Olli and be all boyfriends in denial love about it pls pls pls I need thiiiisss otherwise I don't think I'll make it alive 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Olli: - what I think he'll do: graphic design seems to be the general consensus and this headcanon is actually suppported by recent events so I'ma go with that one - what I hope he'll do: see above what I wrote for Aleksi, also literally anything where we get to see his pretty face for at least once in a blue moon, but I'm not gonna hold my breath for that happening 😔 I'm also dyinnngggg for him to get somehow involved in Scary Noise Records, at least with his graphic design skills if nothing else, come on pleeeeaaaaasssseeeeee I don't want him to disappear completely 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 another entirely delusional daydream is for him (and Aleksi, because can these two idiots do anything without each other?) to launch their own clothesline (since Olli is the merch guy and Aleksi also had his own Alex Mattson clothesline back in the day)

Tommi: - what I think he'll do: actually just two nights ago I had a dream in which Tommi told everyone he'd gotten a job *somewhere*, I can't for the life of me remember where but it was a very ordinary job and he was so pleased with it, so yeah, I guess he's just gonna keep on having "a real job" 😂 - what I hope he'll do: something completely obscure no one could predict, like starting a husky farm or something lol

Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, Great Sage equal to Heaven, grits his teeth in frustration. His surroundings are silent and the grinding noise of teeth upon teeth echoes inside his head like nails down a school board. He hates the sound but he needs to do something to keep from screaming and shouting less he scares his monkeys milling around somewhere close. Unfortunately his temper tantrums have been known to level whole mountains and Flower Fruit Mountain has seen enough destruction lately, so yeah. 

Restraint. Fun. 

But the noise drives him crazy and he wants nothing more than to bite into his lower lip instead, pierce it with his incisors until he can feel skin tear and blood well up on his tongue and- 

He stops himself just in time. The kid’s two hour powerpoint presentation about the different forms of self-harm still rings in his head. 

He's getting better at this. This self control thing. This introspection stuff. Think before you act. Take a deep breath. Allow yourself to just be yourself for a second and just feel and not beat yourself up about these feelings no matter how much they make you cringe. 

MK calls it growth. Pigsy calls it mental health. Mei calls it finally pulling your head out of your own ass.
