Recently I read Transformers: Skybound FINALLy!!! it was fantastic, cant wait for the next issue

Highly recommend reading it tho, its a greattt comic and has super awesome art

Everyone's already talked about this but wow Optimus is portrayed so well!!! I love the dialogue when he describes Cybertron. Also love the pink backgrounds i some panels!! Anyway the interaction with him and Spike feels good and authentic. nice

The fight scenes. SO good to me, I think the art is super dynamic and the way the sound effects are written give great impact. The artist knew what they were doing for sure. I love how they use the comic media to its fullest. With those different shaped slanted box panels, and the smear lines when somethings moving fast idk

I also looove the shading in these comics!! and the linework like on their faces really helps the atmosphere. once again i love the sound effects (especially that big TONG) when starscream gets hit lol it just looks like all the fonts were designed or drawn by the artists yk?? and the variety of camera angles throughout is cool too.

Also love the relationship between optimus and the humans. It feels... better than how other transformers media has handled it (imo). I think its sweet

again great comic art the lighting.. the EVERYTHING idk i just admire this artist a lot (i think his name is daniel warren johnson, although it switches to Jorge Corona later) one thing i love in particular is how the lines are like... a little messy and sometimes a little all over the place-to depict their wear and grime. cool!

Next. Cant talk about skybound without talkingabout THE DECEPTICONS. oh my god. starscream is a spawn of hell. what a bitch. like actually he might be at his worst here hes so diabolical. Anyway even though hes very evil hes still enjoyable to watch because its just idk pure villain. Soundwaves care for his cassettes is sweet as usual. PUNTING Ravage is crazy. cannibalizing Skywarp is crazy. FGELP IDEK WHAT TO SAY except i like the art a lot here as usual its great very comic-y again. SOundwave stays a favorite character.

THIS is an iconic and great moment of skybound, i love it, i lvoe that optimus is willing to use this cannon to further the battle yk also looks badass

Gotta say these are two of my favorite pages throughout the whole series. Love the color and camera angles.

anyway yes ik i barely talked about any faults of the comic, im trying to be super open and see it with like no bias or comparing it to other comics and stuff. personally i like it a lot. the humans arent even dislikable imo. the characters are nice. one thing is that MAN a lot of characters are dying. kinda sad. no ratchet is crazy. also when will megatron awaken? and how?

kind of a silly ask i guess but, after seeing you talk about them just now i looked up traditional ilocano and visayan tattoos as i didnt really have a visual idea of what they look like. im of a different indigenous group (amazigh from north africa) and its kind of awesome looking at designs of tattoos and seeing how some things are similar across our cultures while also being clearly different - some parts of designs/patterns look nearly identical to some amazigh patterns i know which blows me away, while others have very distinct shapes and ways of organizing elements, not to mention the different applications and placements of the designs on the body. i dont really have any sort of point, i just am excited to see this art and to feel a sense of kinship with other indigenous groups, to see cultures halfway across the world create forms of art that reflects unique identities and yet seem like they could speak to each other. i guess for this moment i feel the world has become a little bigger but, too, a little tighter-knit. i hope this message isnt inappropriate, thank you for bringing my interest to this subject

I was literally just thinking the other day about how, despite the differences between many communities’ traditional markings there are still so many similarities in some meanings and placements. I don’t want to share too much, but it’s very very beautiful to think about.

Cure Honey is one of the most boring cures to ever exist. Her only personality trait is food. All she ever talks about is wanting to eat rice. She even sings about it for her attack too, and it’s just so dumb.

That’s all I have to say about her. Boring.

She really has no personality, and her design is ugly. She’s only there for the plot. I was never a fan of her. The only thing putting her above Cure Honey is that her attacks are cool enough.

Honestly, I don’t think she’s as bad as people claim. Sure she’s rude, but at least she has a reason. And she’s not too rude for me. After joining the team, she gets better.

She’s cool! I love how her richness comes in handy, and how she’s not afraid to use it.

Her whole backstory with her being afraid of her strength was really interesting, and I enjoyed her journey to becoming a Pretty Cure.

I like her design too. Her hair is so cute!

I like Cure Papaya’s design a lot! I’ve heard quite a bit of hate for it, and I don’t understand it. She’s so cute!

She’s lacking a bit in the personality department though. But I think she’s really funny sometimes!

Her little backstory spoke to me on a personal level. She talks to much about her interests, and weirds everyone out. She’s so me fr.

I think her knowledge for sweets is really cool. She taught me a lot of things!

I’m not the biggest fan of her design though. I just don’t like that shade of yellow paired with brown.

She serves.

Her confidence is amazing. And her attitude is perfection.

She was my favorite growing up(back when I watched Glitter Force… *sigh*). She’s super cute! And she’s an artist! I tend to like the artist characters a lot.

Her design is adorable too. I love her hair, and the little *pop* it does when she transforms. And the fact that she can control lighting is super cool!

I loved her backstory. Her feeling the need to be masculine, and her longing for cute things made me feel so sad for her. I was so happy when the other girls helped her explore more of her femininity. Did anyone else notice that her hair was longer in the last episode? I loved that detail!

She has a super cool design as well! And her relationship with Potpourri is really cute!

Cure Lemonade was the first cure I considered my favorite, and she remained my favorite for a long time.

I loved her personality and vibe. Her whole actress/idol thing was entertaining to watch as well.

But her design is probably what I love best about her. Her hair is just awesome. I love the way it swirls into place in her transformation!

I love her design. It’s so unique! The poofy underskirt is probably my favorite part!

I see myself in her as well. She gets caught up in the moment, and gets too excited. And she feels like she’s unintentionally dragging her friends into things they don’t want. Seeing things I don’t like about myself in characters pretty much makes me like them instantly.

Maya and Kathy are too forgotten by DC a lot (at least Maya made a return though, cause Kathy just literally dissappeared from existence fr ever since Jon's age up💀 like girl, where you at???) which is pretty dissappointing, because they're both pretty cool, cute, interesting characters with good backstories who both also have really awesome designs too, so it just feels like all this time without them has only been putting their characters to waste. Because of this, I feel like the girls deserve their own comic series with them as a duo that's similar to the fun of Supersons, but with their own style to it ofc! Plus, it'd just be nice to see what they've been/are doing in their own time now. I heard that they've canonly been going on plenty of adventures together during stuff and have a base together in Kathy's treehouse, which is pretty cute sounding! I'd love to read about that!! (It'd also be pretty funny if it was titled something like "Nobody's Beacon" lol and also kind of cool imo)

It would also be really dope if Flatline had her own solo series too, because she stands pretty great on her own as a character to be fun and interesting enough for people to enjoy her stories and is also obviously very cool too. And it's also because I believe more should just be done with her as well

Okay, the butterfly chat hc fr c!dream is awesome and I ablsolutely adore it, but what if c!dream was a butterfly hybrid? And the butterfly chat were his children?

or alternativly, what if c!dream was a spider hybrid and his chat were spiders? That one could be angsty on the idea that arachnophobia is like, what, one of the most common phobias in the world and would be an already easy way to paint him as some sort of monster.

ty i'm glad you like it :) cdream is very bug-coded, and there were actually a few bugs i was thinking about before i wrote the first 'killing butterflies' drabble. grasshoppers, mantises, and spiders were close contenders.

ultimately, my decision to go with butterflies was intertwined with my pretty boy ideas and my overall interpretation of cdream. i'm intrigued by the idea of dream being an undisputed, classic kind of beauty-- a beauty where everyone who sees him will think 'that's a pretty boy' (and, for his chat, 'that's a pretty bug') and have to grapple with what that means for them as characters. i also think that butterflies have a very haunting quality to them, especially when swarmed, that they don't get enough credit for.

i also just enjoy subverting tropes. i like when antagonists are associated with traditionally "delicate" things, like dolls or angels, as it leads to some interesting visuals. i think butterflies convey that a lot better than some other bugs, like grasshoppers or dragonflies.

i think spiders have some potential. i think many people see them as beautiful while others see them as terrifying. i like the idea of the prison being coated in spiderwebs, especially when we see it overgrown during the finale.

i'm not sure exactly what you mean by chat being a person's children, but i generally don't see chat that way. i think the relationship between chat and their person is a bit more complicated than that. i'm planning on putting more of my interpretation of chat in 'blood upon the snow' probably, though it might be vague.

i also see dream (and most other characters) as fully human (minus technoblade, that dude is 100% piglin), but i think it would be fun if he had a small set of butterfly wings. something wispy and useless. kinda fairie-like. it would definitely subvert tropes, like i said. i'm kinda fond of cquackity designs that have small, useless wings that he's embarrassed about or hides, and it'd be fun if they had that in common. cdream would definitely hide them, and they'd be uncovered in the prison. cquackity would have to grapple with the fact that this man he compares himself to (and, in a way, sees as more powerful than himself) shares a trait that he hates in himself. he'd tear them to shreds for sure.

I love love love Izana's character design + the Tenjiku arc is my fav one

Kazutora imo felt like the most realistic villain in the series even though he wasn't a long term one. His backstory (and Izana's) hit me in my feels really bad and felt oddly relatable.

Michi and Chifuyu are both awesome, best duo fr like they just compliment each other so well. Even tho Michi sucked at fighting he's an absolute tank when it comes to damage and he's just so willing to risk his life for his friends 😭 and Chifuyu is literally the bestest friend someone could ever ask for, him having Michi's back is just the cutest thing ever

2023 YEAR IN REVIEW!!!

My artstyle changed a lot this year, especially after my shift from ibis paint to procreate after getting my iPad (drawing on an iPad is the BEST btw 100% recommend I love it way more than a phone and it didn’t die after a month like my old wacom 💀💀). I’m relatively happy with where my art is atm and I hope to continue to improve in 2024!

Explanation of all the silly art down below! (Mostly so I can tell y’all who the fanart is for but also cause I like rambling)

January: A drawing of my Rise Leo human design I did to test out a pixel brush I found for Ibis Paint. He’s very fun to draw hehe I need to draw him more-

February: I wanted to learn how to draw the future designs of Leo and Mikey along with CJ so I planned to draw them all together! I struggled with Leo though so I just got rid of him. Sorry Peepaw 😞😞💔💔💔

March: Fanart for @beannary ‘s TLP au! I love it so much so I had to draw smth for it hehe 😈😈💥💥💥 which reminds me I need to draw more at some point- might redraw it at some point cause I’m not super happy with how it turned out but I do like the idea a lot

April: The month I created Reticent! April’s Fools was the first episode I came up with so I drew a chapter poster! It ended up being very different to the chapter cover I drew a couple months later but it’s still cool :D Leo is being weirdly affectionate to Mikey though what the heck that isn’t like him smh. Although I guess it was meant to be purposefully exaggerated sooooo 🥰

May: Reticent Casey!!! I don’t have much to say it’s just Reticent Casey HDKSGXKSHD this wasnt a very good art month

June: Krangified Donnie is literally my favourite concept ever thats it that’s all I have to say dbskdbwkh I adore Krangified Donnie and if the Rise brainrot takes over the Reticent brainrot for a while then I will probably be drawing Krangified Donnie during that time sorry not sorry

July: Reticent Chapter 3’s cover yippee!!! Still my favourite Reticent cover although Chapter 8’s is a close second (I can’t wait to post it once it’s been betaread yippee!!!). The scribble over Leo’s eyes is literally just because I was struggling to draw his eyes and i was getting annoyed dbskdbskdb it’s actually a very common issue with him (common Ret!Leo L). Also Mikey being reflected in the mirror is a reference to Mirror Man by Jack Stauber which I’ve basically considered his theme song since @aaronymous999 introduced it to me ebwjcbkwhd thank you Mr. Aaronymous! Also somebody said he was in the barbie box and I still need to draw that to this day because Mikey would’ve killed to go see Barbie.

August: RET DONNIE WOOOOO he’s being bullied again!!! I drew that piece for a colour palette challenge request and realised I got the prompt wrong so I just made it into its own thing 💥💥💥 it’s usually a flickering light gif but I chose to just use the version with the light on for this post. The photos in the background were really fun to draw hehe either April’s or Mikey’s is my favourite.

September: MY 500 FOLLOWER DTIYS YIPPEE (/my 150 follower DTIYS for tumblr). This one took me. Forever to draw and I love it to pieces hehe it was really fun to design Mikey’s room and figure out outfits for the sillies and idk the concept of a sleepover just seemed really fun to me dbskbdkdb- and all the entries I got were so so awesome I loved them all to pieces!!! I still look at them all the time hehe

October: FANART OF @endlesslogo ‘S HUMAN RISE LEO DESIGN WOOOOOO!!! This was the piece I started rendering on hehe it was so much fun to draw!!!! Although I did have a fight with rendering the hair for over an hour svsjegksbdk HOW DO PEOPLE DO IT FR!!!

Day and Night Rikuo is in my "Top Blorbos from different fandoms" because well.. for day Rikuo he tries his best to be a nice person which is something i respect :] And he's just so. scrunkly. I love it, i also love how polite he is compared to his night form and speaking of Night Rikuo, he's a chill and nonchalant and also sassy, there's just something intriguing about nonchalant, sassy men... (Cough, Kaeya) I also adore his design like?? Peak, IT'S SO AWESOME !! I hate drawing his hair tho

Things I like and didn’t like about hazbin hotel

I watched it last night with my friends. My basic thoughts are that it’s pretty good.

!!THIS IS ALL 100% MY SUBJECTIVE OPINION ON ASPECTS OF THIS SHOW!!

Stuff I liked:

Most of the songs were pretty good, and of course the singing as well. The visuals for the songs are also very cool a lot of the time as well. Visual standouts included the vox song and the husk song

I’m still sad about the loss of the original cast, but I will admit that the new cast is also good. RIP Michael though. I still miss him in this show but he’s In everything now so whatever.

Vaggie was cool. She really felt expanded from the pilot version, even though I kinnnda miss her old design. The other new designs I got used to, but hers still strikes me as weird.

Niffty was epic. Honestly just like me fr.

This show made me come around to Alastor. Liked him in the pilot, but he was never my favorite (probably overexposure). But he ended up being a very goofy character, which I liked. The mystery element of what he was doing for seven years is also interesting.

I actually ended up liking the Vees. I didn't expect to like them lol. Vox is funny and has a cool voice, Val is cartoonishly evil (and scary at times so that's neat), and I never cared about Velvette before, but she turned out to be my favorite of the three.

One thing I really like about vivziepop shows is that she puts all those hidden text stuff in that you can actually pause to read. She does this in helluva boss, and she keeps up the tradition here. I like when shows do that.

So for years I've been calling him Anthony as a joke to lovingly bully him, and then it ended up being shown in canon lol. For some reason this made me lose my shit. Oh and also the angel dust stuff was really good too yeah yeah

My absolute favorite part was unironically Sir Pentious. This is mostly due to the surprise that he actually ended up in the main cast. I had no idea that was going to happen. I thought he'd be a sort of villain-of-the-week guy who sort of joins the party, but nope this goofy idiot hangs out at the hotel for the rest of the show lol. That was awesome. I never knew how much of his character I needed until now.

I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to television. I'm willing to excuse a lot of things, which is probably why I'm one of the like ten people who still thinks Helluva Boss S2 is okay. Therefore, there were only a few problems with these episodes that I actually didn't like enough to put here.

I really really didn't like Adam. His voice is good, his song is good but that's pretty much it. I don't even really like his design. He was just so irritating and unfunny. I know he was supposed to be annoying and unlikeable, but usually I still find enjoyment in those characters, and I just couldn't here. Case in point: Mammon is basically the same character but actually funny.

This is the only nitpick that really bothered me. Zestial is a cool character. BUT HOLY SHIT THEY COMPLETELY FUCKED UP HIS DIALECT. It happens a lot and it's so irritating because it does not take very long to look up the difference between thee, thou and thy. They didn't even change it to make it rhyme, it's just legitimately fucked up. This annoyed me way too much admittedly but it made me cringe in like every scene he was in, even though I liked everything else about him.

Yeah episode one isn't great. It's not very focused. This is kind of par for the course for vivzie shows though.

Spoilers I guess? I did not like the reveal of who killed the angel. It turned out to be some lady we just met five minutes ago?? It felt very underwhelming and made me angry. However, this one I'm willing to make my peace with because it's episode three, there will probably be a better payoff later. Hopium.

Write me an essay in the comments about why I'm wrong about everything or whatever. I'll read it and maybe adopt it into my perspective. There's probably other things I wanted to talk about that I forgot, but I don't care. Anyway I like this show give it like a 7.6 out of 10.
