I love your art so so so much! For an OFMD suggestion, how about Ed waking up beside Stede after they've reconciled and not believing Stede is real?

Oh your MIND! I wanna kiss it!🌹
I was watching Please Like Me (s2 e9) and a character said something similar to this, it just felt very cute and real. ❤️

One easter-egg prop I can't fully figure out...
There are a custom-made props that actually get close-ups, like the various VHS tapes, but while everyone else was thirsting over Papa kicking his legs I was laser-focused on a small cluster of pixels on-screen for ~5 seconds.
Screenshotting + rotating + tracing the letters I can see in green, it looks like a book that says "AUSTRALIAN TOUR" (the rest of the word "Tour" is kind of visible actually watching the video, but doesn't screenshot well).
Correcting the perspective somewhat... are those pixelated blobs young Papa Nihil?
#Or is it just a weird stylization of Papa Emeritus III?#there was supposed to be an Australian tour during Meliora-era#but it got canceled when Soundwave festival didn't happen in 2016#stuff in ghost videos#ghost#ghost bc#ghost the band#rite here rite now#rite here rite now spoilers#papa nihil#the band ghost

I would love to know your thoughts about Timestalker. Jacob was lovely as always but I HATED the film.
Yeah, I -- mmm, look, I'm always kinder on films that I think are trying to do something new, which it definitely was, but I lowkey hated it too. Which is a bummer! Especially because I quite enjoyed Alice Lowe's last film, Prevenge which is tonally similar although I think vastly more focused and thought through overall.
With Timestalker, I liked the concept itself, but I thought the execution was pretty disastrous, honestly. There was no sense of what the rules of the storyworld were - which is vital when it comes to any sort of fantasy/sci-fi, no matter how absurd or surreal it leans (in fact, it's usually more important when the story gets more surreal) - or clarity around some really fundamental elements of the story i.e. could other people even see Jacob's character, Scipio? What was he supposed to be? Why, in all the reincarnations we saw - of which there were many! - was only one character an animal in any life at all? Was it just for the joke of him having been a dog? Why would you establish a rule that reincarnations take any living form and then literally never revisit it?
The pacing was also a huge problem for me. I couldn't tell why certain reincarnations got half an hour and others got minutes, and the ones that were often the longest felt meandering and honestly kind of pointless, while some of the shorter ones felt both more compelling and specific, whether it be for a joke or a beat of emotional resonance (of which there were few). It wasn't helped by the fact that every moment of progress Agnes had as a character was always immediately undone in the next scene in a way that felt less a deliberate depiction of how a character might regress, and more like Alice as writer, director and star, wasn't sure what she wanted to do next in the film she was making.
Just - - yeah. Massively, massively undercooked as a film, and the dystopian dance bit at the end actually annoyed me with how unearned it was. I love surrealist cinema, and I'm okay with not knowing clearly what the filmmaker is making, but I need to believe the filmmaker knows what they're making, and I don't think Alice Lowe did at all.
#it probably didn't help that i'd watched quite a bit of surreal cinema at that time too#but yes#um#it wasn't good#i saw it at the british film festival here too#and we were in this MASSIVE cinema with like#five people#and australian audiences are notoriously very quiet anyway#but the dead silence at every joke was triggering my secondhand embarrassment lol#film asks#very curious what jacob saw in the project#probably the creative team honestly#he's such a charming and charismatic actor#which is really on show in that because the script is giving him nothing
