The fact that she's at the best place she could probably be in is down to pure luck!! And even then, they were prepared to force her to help them and then what? Leave her alone to fend for herself??

I CANNOT be the only one who is convinced Aubrey had a crush on Mari when she was little right ... and I don't mean it in the shipping way I mean it in the type of crushes little children have way. you ever think about how, in headspace, all omori seems to do is fight? he has no lines, his fears serve as an obstacle to the gang's main mission, and in black space, he doesn't seem to react in the slightest to any of basil's deaths. he's a constant presence in-game; plenty of people know him, he's the "main character" of headspace even though he hasn't done nearly as much as hero seems to have, and all of his friends care about him greatly. and yet, omori does nothing most of the time except hurt. in boss rush, he hurts his friends and mari too. he kills the sprout moles and takes their show tickets without mercy. he's just there, even though it seems the story could work perfectly without him.

all while sunny locks himself away, consumed by the guilt and grief of mari's death, avoiding his friends completely as he retreats inside of his own head.
