i think warren and gordon qpr would be cool asf. i mean their friendship is kinda codependent (just a touch) already so i think itd be cool if they were just like. forever roomates. no romance involved. i mean i’d be okay if they smooched too but like. if they stayed platonic? thatd be the rep i wanna see tbh

All this to say that I don’t think Warren and Gordon have to canonically get together. They shouldn’t, actually, because they already have a cool setup for a complicated friendship. They could become unhealthily dependent on one another, and I feel like that’s already interesting without romance or sex. To be frank.

Romance and sex only add to a plot if it makes everything harder and more complicated, IN MY OPINION. Obviously an easy way to do this if it’s forbidden/prevented somehow.

Examples: Aragorn and Arwen are in love despite Arwen now giving up immortality and her family for him. Increased potential for suffering. The entirety of pride and prejudice is fun bc falling in love makes things DIFFICULT. Them falling in love makes them question their own convictions and they hurt each other a bunch of times along the way. Drama. Harry and Sally become attracted despite it messing up their whole ‘men and women can be friends’ thing. It has a “we said we wouldn’t do this… but we did. How am I supposed to feel about it?” quality. Regret.

So my question is: Would anything in RV become uniquely messier or more confusing if their relationship was romantic/sexual? I’m not sure. It seems like their friendship can already have enough complexity, tension, and conflict in RV as it is right now.

Do I think they’re soulmates? Yeah. Does that mean they have to be in love? No. A soulmate is someone to whom you’re well suited.

also to anyone using Warren’s jealousy toward Oscar as proof that it’s romantic, can I just say that I get jealous of people becoming close friends with my siblings and dogs? That doesn’t mean I’m in love with either of them. People get jealous bc of insecurity and feelings of ownership, not bc of attraction. I’m not saying it’s healthy, I’m just saying.
