yk what adding to that conversation of corporations and queer media / podcasts, when netflix made a series adaptation of archive 81, it was doomed to fail. not only did they completely change the plot, but they erased the lesbian character and made her straight 😐 just truly shows that companies and corporations like netflix will never truly get what is at the heart of indie projects like podcasts/audio dramas - they didn’t do it for the money, they did it because they wanted to. and then this company went and changed it to cater to the general population, while killing the thing that made it enjoyable + what gave it a fanbase in the first place. netflix will truly never ever get it.
