Public update: Chapters 4 & 5 out now!

I'm happy to deliver a brand new public update that concluded the core story of act 1 by adding chapters 4 and 5. What you'll get to do in the new chapters:

Chase down the few remaining leads

Witness a calamity that shakes the city further into chaos

Stand face to face with a goddess (and possibly receive her blessing)

On top of that the demo now includes the up to this point Patreon exclusive side content including a mission with Paoni and an opportunity to witness a vision of the future. The new total word count for the demo is now slightly over 113 thousand words including code.

With the main parts of act 1 concluded I will most likely use this chance to fill out the side content starting with most likely the opening to Mesar's and the werewolves side quests. Just popping my head up in between some storyboarding to thank everyone for bringing the demo up to almost 3500 views of which 3000 came along after the latest update so in not even 5 days.

The thought that literal thousands of people found As Gods Fall interesting enough to give it a go and also the fact that my phone has not stopped vibrating itself to an early grave from activity since makes me both incredibly happy and terrified at the same time 😅

no bc ford and bill's falling out is so silly to me because its like. ford's obsession with bill was the closest to "religious" that he's ever tread, and that kind of betrayal was earth shattering and hurt ford in a way he had NEVER been hurt before, causing him to completely mentally and emotionally unravel. meanwhile bill is like "can we talk 🥺" as if he hasn't been using ford for years, and when it became clear ford hated his ass bill got so drunk he forgot his mom was dead. what an INSANE dynamic to establish 8 years after the show ended.

I was rewatching Gideon Rises and that scene in which he taunts Dipper by saying he has no muscle nor brains to fight back by himself without the Journal's help really gets to me...

And you know what? Ignore Ford's biased by society's expectations on a 1960's man: Dipper's greatest strenght was NEVER his brains.

I mean, he's incredibly smart, there's no doubt. But Gravity Falls is not a place in which you can survive with that alone despite Gideon and Ford saying so.

Dipper's greatest strenght was always the same as Stan: it's how much he loves his family and how far he's willing to go for his sister.

That same love was what made him stand up to the weirdness in Gravity Falls and always find a way out countless times. It's the reason he could sacrifice things for Mabel again and again and never once feel like she was in debt. The reason he could rescue her from Bill's perfect prison in Mabeland and EVEN THE REASON FORD WAS STILL HERE FOR WEIRDMAGEDDON.

The only thing able to subdue Dipper's very naturally human fear of death was his love for his new great uncle.

On a parallel note, Ford's strenght was actually the same as Mabel all along. His love for the unconventional and ability to think outside the box.

The same episode Mabel meets her favorite magical creature and finds out they're an asshole we get the flashback of Ford experiencing the exact same thing.
