Not a hot take but a genuine question I need to know if I'm crazy for? Did early 2000's cartoons learn that Egypt is in Africa and decided every black character needed to have some connection to Egypt instead of the many other countries in Africa???
Like in Tutenstein (2003) and Danny Phantom (King Tuck, S2E15) have two character just being somewhat affected or teaming up with someone form ancient Egypt.
But Libby (Jimmy Neutron 2001) and Erwin (The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy 2001) are straight up RELATED EGYPTIAN ROYALTY
Like someone PLEASE TELL ME IF I'M REACHING- I THINK I AM CAUSE I COULD ONLY THINK OF 4 SHOWS!
NEXT TO THAT THIS COULD JUST BE THE AFTERMATH OF THE MUMMY (1999)!
Like- even if that is the case, the fact that is all the black characters- aside form Cleo- the black side characters???? Hell Erwin is pulling double duty by having THE Dracula as his grandfather.
I feel like I'm reaching- please tell me I'm reaching.

I honestly thought people were making it up for buddie on 9-1-1, but no, that show is insanely queer from the beginning. so overall, yeah, that blond pretty boy firefighter needs to be dicked down by his best friend, end of discussion.

Being asexual and possibly aromantic but also being a huge shipper and hopeless romantic is such a wild experience ngl. I'm always freaking out about my favorite ships and giggling internally reading ship fics, getting invested in characters finally kissing or reading about their pining and their love and I think "I want what they have!!"
But then sometimes you have a slamming realization that your sweet shipping scenarios you imagine in your head look totally different irl and that you are extremely aspec.
One time I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and stumbled across Vsauce's "Why Do We Kiss?" video and let me tell you. When I saw that stock video footage of two people kissing each other I was a little flabbergasted lmaooo

Tom keeping those stickers means that he forgave Greg the second he walked out of that bathroom. He could have tossed them aside before leaving apartment — they should have lost all meaning beyond those walls. But instead he held on to them for the sheer drama of claiming Greg in the most public and undeniable place possible.

I don't need a vacation, I need a sabbatical, where I go live in an abbey in switzerland for six months where I read and garden and study and stare at the sky and learn about birds and make some art and write a lot and help feed the nearby village with the garden crops and there are no ads or algorithms or tv shows or fastfood restaurants and I walk into town once a week for phone and internet to check on friends and family and then I go away again and preferably there are cats and goats and those soft brown cows and one shaggy dog and I learn I have a new favorite constellation and type of flower and shade of green.

I resent getting dragged into the discourse but it's wild to me that there are people out there who read the HP books and laud Harry for being brave and having a big heart and redeeming the wizarding world with his unusually great ability to love, yet can't comprehend how he could learn to appreciate Snape's sacrifice.
I'm very specifically thinking of the fact that Harry watches Snape die. Snape, who is lying on the floor, gripping Harry's robes, and whose eyes Harry is looking into and seeing the life leave. I don't understand how people can humanize some fictional characters and treat them as if they were real and completely dehumanize another. Not even for Snape's sake, but for Harry's sake, do these people not understand what it is to watch someone die? What's the expectation, that the Capacity For Love Posterchild protagonist steps out of character and doesn't care about the guy he watches bleed out and die suffering because you, as a reader, don't like him?
Which is it? Does Harry have a huge capacity to love or not? Pick a lane. Either you value this character trait in Harry or you don't. But you have to take or leave everything it comes with, otherwise you're a hypocrite. Or maybe illiterate.
I just don't GET it.
