by the time his eyes drift from the realm of ink and paper, the late afternoon sun has long seeped through kaleidoscope glass, dancing in threads of gold, as it weaves a crown of light and shadow atop her head. the air shimmers with hazy opalescence, and the beguiling tricks of his heart, echo the words penned by his late-grandmother, ‘may my child alhaitham lead a peaceful life.’ ….and he thinks this might be it. for love lies within the transience of time: in the fleeting daylight and the quiet solace, in the comfort found of a life unadorned. and so he makes a decision he dares not say aloud just yet, but a smile curves the corner of his lips, as he endeavors to imagine the tranquility of a life with her — forever.
illustrated by @/_hui.an on instagram; this was my second time working with them, and it was just as lovely as the last ! reblogs are okay, but please do not save or use — thank you ♡

[ID: a colored pencil drawing of the main 4 characters of Miraculous Ladybug. They are taking a selfie, all dressed up as each other's superhero persona.
Alya is dressed as Chat Noir. She is taking the selfie and throwing up a peace sign. Next to her is Marinette, dressed as Rena Rouge and smiling.
Behind Marinette is Nino, dressed as Ladybug and sticking out his tongue. He is wearing his glasses over his mask and is wearing clip-on earrings. And next to Nino and above Alya is Adrien, dressed as Carapace. Adrien is smiling and winking.
The background is light blue, and there is a slightly stronger blue outline of the characters. /end ID]
Merry Christmas @beelittle ! I'm your Secret Santa for the @mlsecretsanta exchange! (Click for better quality)
I loved that you asked for the core four hanging out, they're my favourite part of the show. I think for Heroes' Day, they would enjoy dressing up as each other :p
This was so much fun to do. I hope you enjoy! 🎄

Holy shit am I glad this is done. This thing took days.
Anyway years ago I made a drawing called Ode to Broadway featuring a bunch of musicals I love and I decided to redo it, this time drawn digitally and with more musicals added in (I also changed the name to Ode to Musicals because not all of these have stage adaptations).
The musicals featured here are: The Sound of Music, Singin' in the Rain, The Lion King, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Annie, La La Land, Hairspray, Cabaret, Chicago, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Hamilton, Cats, The Producers, The Greatest Showman, The Music Man, Moulin Rouge, Fiddler on the Roof, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story and Little Shop of Horrors.
Now when I got to West Side Story I had a dilemma: do I do the original film or the remake? Because amazingly, Steven Spielberg did something unbelievable: made a remake to an already perfect classic film and said remake was also absolute perfection. Nonetheless I decided to go with the original.
Two musicals I wanted to include but didn't are Rent and In the Heights just because I couldn't think of a way to fit them in.
Also I didn't want to add any animated musicals in, so that's why there's nothing from Disney for example (except for the Broadway adaptation of The Lion King, of course).
I also didn't want actors to appear twice in this, which is why Mary Poppins isn't here even though I would've loved to add it because I already have Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music here. Same reason I only chose one of Jacques Demy's musicals, because Catherine Deneuve also stars in The Young Girls of Rochefort and Donkey Skin.

If you see this, this is your sign to go listen or watch Starmania:
Tumblr media
The French dystopian musical that got readapted recently with so fucking good lights.
It's famous coz the voices were famous but now they are not really, yes I dare to say all versions have voices way above Broadway standard (or Broadway standard. I've never seen a Broadway show live but Starmania kills the standard, yes it's that good)
Also fun fact every single French person whose teenagehood was 1979 or 1988 knows the songs even though they've never seen the show. They don't even know what happens on stage, especially at the end

'Speaking of Murder' – Jean Gabin leads a heist crew on Kino Film Collection and Hoopla
Jean Gabin stars as Louis le Blond, the aging head of a heist crew that is one slip away from turning on itself, in the French noir Speaking of Murder (France, 1957). No one actually speaks of murder here. Louis is determined to keep things cool and contained and he’s as much peacemaker as leader. In fact, the original French title is Le rouge est mis, which translates to “the red is set,” a bit…
