Love rereading everything about this and rewatching the show after it wrapped 😫, always an honor to fall in love again and again and especially with those two...should I post more sketches?

just saw somebody on twitter posting a list of "old animes they want to get a remake since a bunch of that is happening rn"
and one of their list was WEISS KREUZ and i like. recoiled violently.
do NOT remake weiss kreuz the entire POINT of it is that it is so bad you have to let ppl drink thru the whole thing to make them watch it. it was made behind a dumpster for an approximate budget of ¥800. it was thought up by the voice actors instead of like. any kind of professional writer. the second part of it lost the rights and had to redesign the characters. iirc every single woman introduced is fridged. like there is NO WAY to remake this for today's audiences that wouldn't either lose the whole original mess or become bad in a different way.
also i do NOT want to know what the tiktok fandom girlies would do if they got a hold of schuldig and farfarello

Can we politely talk about *some* SaneKana shippers...
I would normally address how toxic they tend to be and the ridiculous amount of misinformation they spread, which not only misleads the (mostly new) fans, but also heavily mischaracterizes both Sanemi and Kanae, ESPECIALLY Sanemi though because he's really complex and the misinformation just misses the entire fxcking point of the way he's written and it's enraging to say the least
..however, it's starting to be common knowledge that they're insufferable, but something that is bugging me right now is that they're getting sexualized lately. and almost no one seems to complain.
There's recent VIRAL videos, either animations or cosplays who want to allude that they'd "get freaky" or that Kanae wants to get undressed when he sees him or something...am I overreacting or gagging a little is a fair reaction to this?
They were MINORS.
No matter how much I might not like Kanae as a character, I find it baffling when she's sexualized or mischaracterized by anyone. Kanae was created for Shinobu. Kanae is Shinobu's fuel, her motive, the reason behind her grief and her anger and her overall initial character development and the way she planned her own demise all revolved around her older sister. Kanae exists for Shinobu, not to be any man's love interest.
Let's also be fr, Kanae was more of a mother to Sanemi rather than a love interest, they had heavy platonic subtext in the 1 and half interactions that they had. Romanticizing the Light Novel's interaction specifically, would mean projecting Œdipus complex onto Sanemi, which is absolutely messed up considering the amount of people I've seen justify that with "but it was her hands!" who do you think that touch belongs to? would you think about your dad or any family member if a person you like touched you?
But that's besides the point, I respect the ship per se and I acknowledge it's 100% up to the viewer's interpretation; but if you're one of the shippers who overlooks Sanemi's character, sexualizes and mischaracterizes their bond and water down Kanae's character to "she's the girl that Sanemi likes" AND/OR even spread misinformation and consider them as canon while harassing other shippers then please take several seats.
I'm usually very chill about ships, rarepairs, anything as long as it's legal, but this behavior from shippers is where I draw the line + those ShinoGiyuu shippers who also do the exact same thing to Giyuu and Shinobu, and I kinda like them as a pair so I'm not being biased here.
If you're one of the normal SaneKana shippers don't take it as an attack, it's not about you🫶🏻 as much as my opinion on this ship is complex as I only like them if we consider them as a platonic duo, I totally respect those few sane shippers and multishippers I've encountered
This being said, I hope we can all agree that sexualizing minors is disgusting ⛹🏻‍♀️

You know what really pisses me off…people (mainly men) on tiktok that complain about women only getting into shows for hot male characters.
Like specifically Jjk, they be so salty and mad when people be simping for Gojo, Geto, Toji, or Nanami. But they literally have been doing that exact same thing with female characters since forever. These are the same people who actually over sexualize characters too and don’t see that character for anything but their looks. Like you can’t scroll on twitter without seeing literal porn of female characters if you’re on the art side of twitter. Then don’t get me started on how a lot of these characters be literal children. I mean they don’t even try to age up the characters either, they literally draw them exactly how they look as a child or teenager. Not saying that if they did age them up it would be any better, just pointing out a simple fact.
That’s why I’m so happy jjk exists. We need more shows without all that unnecessary fan service of panty shots, or female characters being groped and it being written off as a joke. This is why I barely watch any anime but a select few. It’s probably why aot and jjk are my top favorites. We need more good fan service of male characters being hot by showing off how cool they are or how strong they are.
I know the reason why I simp for Gojo is because of his personality, it’s really attractive. I love the way he acts and I’m always geeked when he’s on screen. Same way with other characters like Geto. And ofc I like them because they’re hot, like that’s an obvious given. Same way with aot. I like eren because of his attitude. I’ve always liked him even before he was cold and yes I can say this because when I first started watching aot I was 12 or 13 years old the same age or younger than eren when he was a scout. Also yes I’m someone who understands the depth of these characters too, which a lot of men fail to do with female characters.
I really wish we had more shows just like aot or jjk. Maybe I’m not looking hard enough but I love shows when the fandom has a lot women in them. It’s such a fun experience.

I find it interesting how hated sachiko is compared to shoji. She's horrible for what she did for sure, but shoji..shoji is the true villain. He lied to both of them, strung both of them along, and even tho sachiko foolishly began to follow his lead in the cheating, at least she attempted to set up a form of boundaries when she first found out about hachi. Not to mention shoji admitting he'd cheat on sachiko with hachi had they still remained friends after the whole ordeal..sachiko is similar to hachi. She's meant to be a representation of what hachi was to shoji when hachi and shoji first began dating. But as hachi became more independent (which is a role he basically forced her into), he began to lose interest. sachiko on the other hand, though independent is also very easily accessible to him unlike hachi was becoming, as she fell into a more independent lifestyle. Once you get past hating sachiko, you begin to feel pity on her..he fell for due to convenience because he felt insecure in hachi's newly found independence.

I genuinely don't care for the plot of jjk. Gege has ruined it for me, I hate how everyone dies ans there's legit no hope of anything.
Aot had it moments at least and most the main characters actually did end up living. But atp who tf knows who's making it to the end of jjk.
Thr only reason I continue is because I like the characters and the nice little lives the Fandom gives them.
I've said it before but I'll say it again
Jjk was born to shoujo, forced to shounen

Whether it’s dubbed, subbed, the original, or the manga, I will cherish Fruits Basket just the same. I love it so much… Very few anime/manga have put me through such an emotional rollercoaster like it did(has). To be frank, Kyo and Tohru are my example of what romance should look like, a happy, healthy relationship where each person acknowledges each others and their own faults and flaws & doesn’t give them sh*t for it, instead they are willing to be understanding and give encouragement. They meet each other halfway and that’s important. They give me such happiness… it’s… ugh<3
I love Shoujo, heck it’s possibly my favorite genre, but I feel sometimes it struggles to see important aspects of what makes a good relationship, and I think Fruits Basket captured some of the important ones in Kyo and Tohru. I’m not saying theirs is perfect, hell it’s far from it, just saying It takes a lot of time and growth, it does that part very well.

5 Reasons Why Tsukasa Doumyoji is Twisted To Begin With... (Sorta)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HIS UPBRINGING:
This crazy dude grew up in a lonely environment, despite having everything he ever wanted handed to him on a silver platter most of his life. he felt neglected, abandoned, from a young age. Even if he had his sister around, his parents hardly ever talk to him unless it's BUSINESS RELATED.
At least he has the F4, but even so he developed all types of issues growing up...because of Tsubaki's beating and lack of right experience in disciplines and authority, (manga mainly.)
He was mostly influenced by the high and mighty people of the rich society, given that he comes from a billionaire family. He used the power of his own wealth and money, even wrongly methods to achieve his somewhat toxic goals. He's abusive most of the time only because he was judged by his intimidating looks and being also part of the F4.
HIS MOTHER:
He's like another clone of her but compared to him she's way worse and bitchier. Her ways sometimes could've also had the possibility of influencing him growing up. But that wasn't it, his case turned out much more different thanks to this gal.
Tumblr media
A Boy With A Wounded Heart Who Wants Nothing But To Be Loved.
He came to learn eventually that not everything can be bought or obtained the way you wanted it to, his character development is STILL INSANE TO ME!
HIS SIMPLE MINDEDNESS:
In a way, it was the case when it came to his actions. He was rather pushy and forceful because he was so desperate for love and care from those around him, he just didn't express himself quite well because he was so closed off as a child which is a reason he became inhumane at times, he needed someone that could tolerate his personality and yet correct the error of his ways no matter how far they went.
Since he thought that he could always get what he wanted with power, money and shit...he had to learn the hard way that humans from middle-class families aren't tools just because you act above them and ya always gotta be on top.
HIS SELF PRIDE AND ARROGANCE:
A person like him doesn't take a no for an answer or something he inherited from his old hag, however that's part of his personality as long as it's friendly and amusing- but when it's used for reasons like revenge and paybacks In a despicable way then it's super toxic. He's too blind to actually take action of his responsibilities and everything and needs someone to rebuke him like 24/7 because he's that naive, innocent and ignorant
Tumblr media
His character was ORIGINALLY SUPPOSED TO BE FLAWED AND A TOTAL RED FLAG!! That's how character development happened. Without this shit the story would not have any starting points, however that does not excuse how abusive he was! In both the anime and manga that's why I personally tended to avoid watching the anime.
Still as a person who usually doesn't prefer live action over anime j or k even c dramas, I would personally still choose the homeland of this Shojo which is Japan.
Hating his guts at first I wanted to see the outcome of his evolution throughout their crazy journey together from enemies to friends then lovers. But for the past two years my obsessions with all the versions haven't really died down.
Their variety of personality in the F4 group is ceaseless. My personal fav is Akira the same one who holds the group together, to me he's way more underrated than the other two.
Also Jun actually portrayed the character beautifully I don't think anyone else could've done it like he did!!

More Demon Slayer Thoughts As I Watch
-It seems like the personality of a human gets more exaggerated and distorted when they become a demon. Things are taken to an extreme. It's neat.
-I like the use of super senses like smell or hearing in this show. It's used in a neat way, I love it.
-I think the subtle use of language when referring to demons is interesting. I noticed it after Tanjirou cut the spider demon's head off. He refers to them as people while to others, they're monsters or things.
-Yeah, yeah. Zenitsu backstory. I didn't care. They'll never make me like you Zenitsu. Never. The backstory would hit harder if he wasn't so unlikeable. I find his character archetype annoying.
-Hashiras are dicks.
-One thing I dislike about this anime is how long it feels they drag a moment out. It's driving my nuts.
-Inosuke has grown on me.
-Rehab training. Zenitsu, they will never make me like you.
-On the other hand, the little butterfly girls are adorable. They are so sweet.
-I also like how they actually included things like rehabilitation in the show. I feel like I don't see that in media much, even though the injuries in media would need it. It's a nice bit that I feel adds depth and realism to the world here.
-Again, love the butterfly girls.
-Shinobu is fascinating. The right amount of cute and creepy. The bit of backstory we get is insightful and yet leaves me wanting. She hates demons. She wants to do what her sister wanted. She's kind. She's angry. I get her and I don't. It's neat.
-Watching Kanao's back story, and the animation is really hitting well. My poor baby.
-It's also really interesting to see Shinobu in the flashback. She's much more feisty, and her older sister is more like the current-day Shinobu. I think the way it's portrayed is well done. Shown not told.
-They make all the butterfly girl's movements very floaty and quick, and I think it's neat. Also, clearly setting up the ship of Kanao and Tanjirou.
-The coin thing was really cute.
-And again, I love the three butterfly girls.
-I like trains.
-The trio Tanjirou, Inosuke, and Zenitsu have formed is great.
Overall: season 1 was great. I would have liked to see more Nezuko, but that's neither here nor there. The animation and art was brilliant and I'm eager to start the next bit.

Back to the analysing and fangirling.
So, Delico's Nursery. Spoilers for those who haven't watched it yet.
I absolutely love the animation. I know a lot of people are probably not going to like the style that J C Staff have gone for, but I do.
I am going to talk about this, but I am NOT an expert, so be warned.
The background is extremely detailed and very still most of the time. There is little to no background movement, making the entire background look like a classical painting rather than an animated scene. The character themselves seem to be drawn with varying line thinks and singular shades of colour, with little to no shading as well, but they are simpler compared to the backgrounds, making them appear clearer. Since they are the main moving components, it does make you focus on them. Personally, I really do love this style but I get the feeling that not everyone will.
Story wise, I know very little. I know that there is a stage play and a manga, but I haven't seen either, so I only know what the anime has mentioned. To me, it seems like there a two primary plot lines; the TRUMP case and the father-children relationships. At first glance, it seems like there is a very dark plot and very light-hearted plot to contrast each other, but it's very clear that the children have unique and complicated relationships with their parents.
The best relationship seems to be Henrique and his girls, where he lets them run wild but does show care more openly and is relaxed with them. On the other hand, Gerhard seems to have an extremely stern and business-like relationship with his son, who appears to be more soft-hearted of the children. Dino is somewhere between the middle; he lets his son do what he wants because the only thing he's seen his son do is study, but it's very clear that his son is upset with their current dynamics and feels like his father doesn't care about him. They all have to learn to try and build functional relationships, which probably going to be more emotionally draining and painful in a more domestic sense.
Henrique probably needs to learn how to discipline and teach his kids, Gerhard needs to learn to see his son as a child, and Dino needs to acknowledge his son's feelings.
Dali is a bit different in the sense that he was already trying his best, but he is also trying to be a single dad to a young child and a baby, so it's more natural to feel overwhelmed and miss certain points. I get the feeling Dali will catch onto Raphael's feelings of neglect very quickly.
As for the TRUMP plot line, we're still fairly early on that so I don't have nearly enough information to make a judgement, but it looks like it has potential.
I think the only complaint I have is that the first episode may have been a bit too exposition heavy, but it is the first episode so I guess it should be expected.
