Sanemi and Kanae are both selfless individuals who care deeply, filled with love, protection, incredible endurance, talent, and strength. Despite these clear similarities, they differ in their ideologies and how they handle the tragedies that befell them.

Sanemi couldn't reconcile the image of his angelic and overprotective human mother with the violent monster he stopped that night. As a result, he concludes that demons are irredeemable, devoid of humanity, and undeserving of sympathy or saving.

On the other hand, Kanae believes in saving demons, seeing them as tragic creatures who used to be human. She thinks they must be stopped to prevent them from tarnishing their souls further. Kanae's sympathetic nature doesn't allow her to ignore the previous humanity of demons.

I love their differences because they enrich their dynamic and make it more compelling. I also like to imagine that their similarities would enable them to become a resting place for each other. As selfless givers who prioritize and take care of everyone else, they would understand each other's burdens and do their best to be the support, strength, and comfort that the other deserves.

After fighting on his own for a long time, and using his own blood to debilitate demons, i imagine Sanemi was used to tend for his wounds himself. So i imagine the first time he ended up at the Butterfly mansion was because he was taken there unconscious.

The little girls were a little scared of him, so Kanae took care of him personally (probably with Aoi's help). Sanemi liked her from the moment he saw her (like many others). Before they met, he was always impatient and wouldn't wait for complete recovery, but she showed genuine worry for him and asked him to stay until she was sure it was safe for him to restart Corp's activities. He was a very good patient, surprisingly. It was because of her.

Sanemi didn't look friendly for starters. Kanae had seen other guys like him, many of which were aggressive or uncooperative. But she didn't let that possibility stop her from taking care of him.

It broke her heart to see his scars. Those weren't the scars of an inexperienced or unskilled swordsman. Many of those scars weren't caused by demons. Why did he hurt himself? It saddened her to think that he might consider his life worthless.

Okay what do we think about the SaneKana Snow White/Royalty AU?

Summary: Kanae is a rising monarch who is forced to go on the run by Douma (the evil queen of the story). Shinobu is in her Arya Stark era and is her sister’s sworn knight. Sanemi is the Huntsman-turned-Prince Charming who is initially sent to kill Kanae for Douma but can’t do it. The other Hashira are the equivalent of the dwarves (but they’re really a ragtag team of bodyguards for the royal sisters). Kanae is also a poison master (which is important for the poisoning aspect of Snow White lmao). Multi-part fic idea.

Ofc there would be smut but it would be a slower burn

kanae and sanemi :( just kanae and sanemi in that examination room and her gentle hands stitching up the scars he gave himself without reproach or blame :( him declaring that he is a jerk and her trying to respond to that but opting to help him the only way she knows because she knows him and sees him for who he really is but he doesn't :( she worries for him and asks him to get along with masachika and she patches him up and he wants to argue and snarl and bite but her hands are warm and she does her best not to hurt him :'(
