“Becca… calm down. I got you. It’s alright…” Angie speaks softly, tenderly as she leans to kiss Becca into calm, noting the way Becca’s trembling steadies as she holds her closer, stroking her back and hair gently. She knows how shy Becca can be about their love, much more so about admitting they have an open but loving relationship. “You really plan on saving Christmas?” “It’s kinda my job.” Angie teases softly, moving to gather her phone from it’s charger and starting to text someone, pausing to glance over at Becca. “You know Willow Maitland?” “I… know she’s famous, and I do watch her show… but that’s about it.” “Perfect.” Angie purrs, sending the text and pulling up the photo she had taken just last night, moving to show Becca the photo. “Wait, you and Willow?” “Mmm, when she’s not busy….” “She’s beautiful Angie… Do you think…” “She’ll adore you, I’m sure.” “Does she know about…. Us.” “Yeah. I know about you.” Willow’s voice gets a flinch from Becca, then a blush, Angie barely hiding her laugh as she strokes Becca’s back, moving to hug Willow when she comes closer, moving past her to lock the door behind her, watching Becca with Willow, aware how nervous Becca could be. “Shall we get this taping done?” Angie’s voice is gentle and Becca smiles as she nods, moving to sit in front of the camera, noting the way Willow smiles as she settles, then breaks the quiet of the room with a quiet murmur. “It’s nice to finally meet you Becca…” The Christmas Show gets taped, Becca sending the recording to the TV company, Willow smiling once it’s sent and moving to hug Angie and Becca, her voice soft. “I’ll leave you two to… talk…” “No.” Becca’s voice is quick, light and Willow pauses, glancing back at Becca and Angie, unsure what to do or say next. “Stay… I’d… I’d like to at least try a proper… a proper date. Together.” Willow smiles, returning to the sofa Angie and Becca are sharing, settling beside Becca and kissing her cheek softly. “Alright…” Later Shade would watch them together and smile, Angie seems more relaxed, Becca more confident and Willow has a new way to stand out, they suit each other, all together.

PSA Re: Wild Cards and Private Eyes

Just wanted to throw this out there:

Many members of the creative team (writers, executive producers, etc.) worked on both shows so the vibes are very similar. (I didn't realize this until after I finally got around to watching Wild Cards. I would have definitely watched it sooner if I had known as I've missed Private Eyes since it was cancelled in 2021)

Both shows are fun procedurals with the focus on developing their characters and relationships. They have a great balance of heart and humour and well-rounded characters with engaging dynamics.

Private Eyes really keeps serving the best fanfic tropes in every episode, one after the other, all executed perfectly, and Angie and Matt are still not together

Remembering the existence of Danganronpa V3, I want to talk about how disappointed I was playing this damn thing. It was the danganronpa that I had the most expectations for, they placed huge expectations on me, especially on Shuichi and Kokichi... and just, err seriously, it's just so boring. I loved Kaede, I was enjoying the first chapter, everything here was interesting and Rantaro... aaa Rantaro. He's so charismatic, you want to know more about him.

But then the first death happens. Rantaro died. AND EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS INVESTIGATION IS SO HORRIBLE THAT I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE IT! Shuuichi you are the ultimate detective and you haven't done the basics of a detective!!!! "Ah but he breaks stereotypes..." NO! he was just stupid!

The investigation was ridiculous, they didn't focus on what was actually important to investigate and it didn't even look like someone had just died. When I finished the trial no one really seemed to care about Rantaro, the sadness was all for Kaede who was the ""murderer"". And that irritated me.

About the alibis, are you fucking kidding me?? Tsumugi left the others during the time the crime occurred and you just accepted the excuse that she "was in the bathroom"??? The investigation in the bathroom was pathetic, with only Kaede giving it a cursory glance, girl you knew about the secret passage in the library, you really didn't suspect there would be one in the bathroom too?? IT WAS THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT OF!!

Over Rantaro's body. The wound on his head, the angle obviously didn't make sense to have hit him if the ball had come from above, AND if it had hit him, it wouldn't have had enough of an impact to KILL HIM! Seriously, Shuichi, you're a detective, you should have paid more attention to the wound.

Now about Rantaro. How did he not notice that Tsumugi was behind him? Why did he just stand there looking at where the ball, which almost hit him, had come from?"Ah but the sound was loud, he wouldn't hear the footsteps" Okay, but he was the Ultimate Adventurer, he shouldn't have sensed the proximity of the danger? Shouldn't he have heightened senses? "But he didn't remember" Kirigiri didn't remember either and yet she always acted like a real detective, so this argument isn't valid.

But it really irritates me that Shuichi just let himself be carried away by the first impression of the facts, I understand that he took a while to suspect Kaede but when you think about it a little, it doesn't make sense to be her, precisely because of what I said about Rantaro's body, already the probability of the ball having hit him squarely was difficult, imagine even with the wound being at that suspicious angle. Again, the ball wouldn't have enough force to kill him like that, it doesn't make sense!! He just let himself be carried away by what "appeared" to be the truth instead of looking beyond the facts and questioning whether it really was the truth, like a real detective would do.

But he was insecure blah blah blah" Everyone's life was at stake, if Tsumugi wasn't the Mastermind everyone there would have died because of his mistake. The game sells Shuichi as the only one there who could discover the truth and he doesn't even do that.

I won't delve too much into the other chapters because I don't have the patience anymore, but I hate how everyone's IQ drops just so Shuichi looks like a genius. The murders making silly mistakes just for Shuichi to have a chance to figure them out, like Kirumi leaving obvious evidence or Kiyo committing another murder when he didn't need to take risks like that, if he had just killed Angie there was no way to blame him, but he He had to make some mistake so that detective could confront him.

So... there's Momota (I refuse to call him Kaito). Kokichi is very annoying but Momota is insufferable, not only with a toxic positivity but the existence of chapter 4 disgusts me. What he does to Shuichi in this chapter is disgusting, using emotional blackmail and acting like a spoiled child just because he didn't want to agree with Ouma. YOUR LIFE AND THE LIVES OF YOUR "FRIENDS" WERE AT STAKE YOU IDIOT COULD YOU SWALLOW YOUR FUCKING PRIDE FOR ONCE?????

I've seen a lot of people talk badly about Makoto and Hinata, even calling them stupid or that if they hadn't had help, they wouldn't have made it. And yes, they really needed help and there is absolutely nothing wrong with having help. Much better than trying to make an idiot of the player.

If you disagree with me on something that's okay, I just wanted to get that accumulated anger out.

You smile and acquiesce, eagerly spreading your legs for him. Maybe this vacation isn't ruined after all.

(Adalynn's POV)

We're in the second trimester now, and I've hit that burst of energy I usually get around this time. I feel a lot more in control of things and I can plan a lot of my day and actually stick to the plan without being waylaid by sickness or fatigue.

(AN: I hadn't actually picked a name for this kid, which is ironic because this is classic last-kid-in-a-fundie-family treatment. I went through the game provided names and Everett was nice and actually worked for the vibe I have going for these people and their offspring.)

Speaking of pregnancy, Lorilee had her baby! She and Charles welcomed little Everett Collins into their family at San Myshuno General hospital. Lorilee gloriously laboured for 30 hours with her little guy, and she and Charles updated us constantly with either video calls or message updates. Lorilee's mum and sister flew into the city last week to help the new parents as they adjust to their newest addition. My parents and Ashton are planning on stopping by on their way to see Zoe and Francisco, with all of us spread around the country my parents have definitely gained a tonne of flying and road miles travelling all over to see us. Soon enough we'll all be together for Parker and Lana's wedding.

We had a little birthday party for little Joshua, he turned 6 years old and is ready to join his brothers in full time schooling! We've been doing kindergarten level work with him to get him ready for grade 1 schoolwork, I've got the main materials that I've used with the other boys but I will order him his own workbook to use for this school year. He's going to be the 7th student our school table, and because of the baby coming around the time school is starting my mother in law, Angie, will be taking over the boys schooling until I can be up and about after the baby.

My mother-in-law has been a blessing to me since the day I met her, but whenever I'm pregnant she goes above and beyond to be available to help. She's come over and helped with school on days when I couldn't separate myself from the toilet, she's helped Mason get them ready for church on days when I couldn't do it myself, she even brought over meals whenever I couldn't cook. Everytime we announce that there's a new baby on the way she celebrates as if it's her first grandbaby, the boys are absolutely in love with their Mimi - as Angie likes to be called.

We are so grateful to be have this family of ours where we have been blessed with 8 (soon to be 9) blessings that have given us reasons to constantly celebrate. Joshua asked for his birthday outing to be to our local pizza place, so one day Mason got off work early so we could take him out to eat his birthday treat. Our different friends and family have sent him such wonderful gifts, be it a toy, a card, some money, or books.

Willow looks smaller like this, delicate. Like a doll. The snowstorm has shut many people in their homes, Willow shut out midway to a party. Angie can’t help moving to tuck a blanket around Willow, noting the small sneeze that escapes Willow and smiling slightly. “Are you alright?” “Fine…. This go-around, the Crew discusses Richard Franklin’s Roadgames (1981) starring Stacy Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis as the pair trek across Southern Australia’s Nullarbor Plain hauling pig carcasses from Melbourne to Perth. Conceived as Hitchcock’s Rear Window (1954) as seen from a tractor-trailer, Roadgames features encounters along the road with a cast of recurring travelers and a serial killer. Keach’s and Curtis’ chemistry is apparent in their engaging performances. Though not straight horror, Roadgames is horror-adjacent while generating its share of suspense amid horrific events.

At the time of this writing, Roadgames is available to stream from Amazon Prime, Peacock, Tubi, PlutoTV, and multiple PPV sources. The movie is available on physical media as a standard Blu-ray disc from Shout! Factory.

Every two weeks, Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1980s podcast will cover another horror film from the 1980s. The next episode’s film, chosen by Bill, will be Evilspeak (1981), one of the video nasties, featuring Clint Howard as an outcast military cadet, R.G. Armstrong as Sarge, and Richard Moll in a supporting role. This should be interesting!

The New Newcrest

I didn't go through the pain of taking pictures of every public lot in Newcrest, but you can see some of the buildings here.

The world is based on Houston, but has big Silicon Hills vibes in terms of townies.

In Bridgeview you will find The Clean Bean Laundromat & Cafe, and some quirky neighbors.

The retired Angie and Belinda Childress live in the first townhouse with their cat.

Next door to them are Mandy and Dwight Wharton. These two can come off as pretty stuck up, typical full of themselves trust fund adults. If you dig deeper, you'll see they're deeply dedicated people. Their steakhouse in Copperdale is one of the top restaurants in reviews!

At the Asphalt Apartments, next door to the empty house on the corner, you can meet the Parris family - Corbin the Tech Guru, his wife Ratna the Scientist, their perfectionist teenager Everett, and their toddler Jerrica.

Elder Poppy Mims pretty much runs the place, and evil genius Sabrina Dove keeps everyone on their toes.

Llama Lagoon has a few ammenities. Sims can wind down, or do some shopping at the Super Green Spa and Thrifty Llama.

Twin Oracle park has fun activities for every member of the family (which I think I say about every park XD).

Across the street from the neighborhood's starter home is Tranquil Crescent Place Apartments. Home of retired creative Roger Selby, aspiring actress Marina Rindle, lazy writer Edgar Duncan, party animal Eka Mentari, klepto Chi Lai, and the self-assured Tori Lott.

Ridgeline Drive is the place to keep up appearances. Visit the Sandy Run Gym, Newcrest Childrens Museum, Montrose Collective Library, Ridgeline Rec Center, or Optimists Photo Studio.
