The New Newcrest

I didn't go through the pain of taking pictures of every public lot in Newcrest, but you can see some of the buildings here.

The world is based on Houston, but has big Silicon Hills vibes in terms of townies.

In Bridgeview you will find The Clean Bean Laundromat & Cafe, and some quirky neighbors.

The retired Angie and Belinda Childress live in the first townhouse with their cat.

Next door to them are Mandy and Dwight Wharton. These two can come off as pretty stuck up, typical full of themselves trust fund adults. If you dig deeper, you'll see they're deeply dedicated people. Their steakhouse in Copperdale is one of the top restaurants in reviews!

At the Asphalt Apartments, next door to the empty house on the corner, you can meet the Parris family - Corbin the Tech Guru, his wife Ratna the Scientist, their perfectionist teenager Everett, and their toddler Jerrica.

Elder Poppy Mims pretty much runs the place, and evil genius Sabrina Dove keeps everyone on their toes.

Llama Lagoon has a few ammenities. Sims can wind down, or do some shopping at the Super Green Spa and Thrifty Llama.

Twin Oracle park has fun activities for every member of the family (which I think I say about every park XD).

Across the street from the neighborhood's starter home is Tranquil Crescent Place Apartments. Home of retired creative Roger Selby, aspiring actress Marina Rindle, lazy writer Edgar Duncan, party animal Eka Mentari, klepto Chi Lai, and the self-assured Tori Lott.

Ridgeline Drive is the place to keep up appearances. Visit the Sandy Run Gym, Newcrest Childrens Museum, Montrose Collective Library, Ridgeline Rec Center, or Optimists Photo Studio.

portsim is a small city in the south. it was established as a town in 1752, and the current population is 97,915. it's full of history and has a lot of culture. with increasing poverty rates, gang violence, and a drug epidemic, crime is at an all time high. will the city’s new mayor be able to make portsim a safer place?

4 months in the making and it’s finally here! huge thank you to everyone that’s been following me through the process. ♡ y’all are so kind and supportive and i really appreciate all the love. this was originally going to be a personal save, it’s inspired by my hometown (portsmouth, virginia) most builds are based off real places around me, and some households are based off my friends and family. this is very much still personal to me!

willow creek, newcrest, and magnolia promenade have been rebuilt, repopulated, and transformed into one large town

i own all packs and kits, if you don't you can still play this save but build and cas objects will be missing

check out the portsim townie index (wip) to read their bios and keep up with their stories. some already have posts but some are empty, i’ll be adding more as i play

21 residential lots / 19 community lots - please read community lot descriptions because most are multi functional! i also left some empty commercial spaces that are “for lease” so i can add things as new packs come out

added new holidays - i changed names to be more realistic and added a few (spring cleaning day, easter, independence day, halloween, christmas eve)

added 5 new clubs (city officials, a gang, a cult, a record label, painting classes by a townie)

i’ve never made a save file before, and this is just the first version. please let me know if you run into any issues. i want to eventually add more households, and i also want to add + rebuild other worlds

i highly suggest turning the eco lifestyle ep’s eco foot print + npc voting off, unless you want the town to look apocalyptic and the trinity church community space to be set to the winter version during summer etc

i turned neighborhood stories off, but sims were still adopting babies and divorcing each other so i kept them all in the my households tab, you don’t have to keep them there!

shoutout to @cowplant-snacks and @nightlioness for letting me use some of their sims as background townies so there's not as many ugly npcs

next world that’s going to be added: oasis springs + del sol valley - idk which one will be out first! but they're coming soon ♡

Here's a cute little lookbook featuring some items from RUSTY, color block for the summer. Anyways... Taking a little break from building Newcrest, it's got me STRESSED OUT. Anyway, I thought this would be a good time to introduce you guys to my OC/self-sim/myself. While I wont go into too many details, I'm a black, gay male (he/they), 29 yr old simmer from Detroit, MI. I just graduated with my degree in computer information systems and I'm spending some of my free time building a realistic save file for all of us to enjoy. CRCB Barracks: The Layout

Okay, here's the first in my series of screenshots of The Barracks as I built them in the Sims 4.

I built this on the 50x40 lot in Newcrest, but it will fit on a 40x30 lot. It is on the gallery under CRCB Barracks or, (because the gallery works half the time at best) you can search my creator name Rory-Frost6 and find it there. You'll have to check the "Include Custom Content" button for some reason, and I did use the move objects cheat. If you're going to play using it, you'll want to widen the bathroom a bit so they can get into the shower in the rooms with private bathrooms. There's space to do that. otherwise everything should work.

I tried to use Base Game only stuff for the wallpaper/floors and the basic furniture stuff. Some stuff, like the utility closet, laundry room, large communal bathroom, and the decorations are from different packs just for the purposes of variety/including those details, and showcasing the guys' personalities in their rooms (as well as the reader's). I tried not to use too many packs (and failed).

It is purposefully supposed to be very plain and dull and boring. Of course, you can decorate and change things however you want, I just tried to make it as realistic as possible. And of course, because it is the Sims, just pretend all the wood grains/colors match.

(Also please forgive my lack of skills at taking screenshots 😭)

Here is the layout. You're getting one photo in Winter because I forgot the save I used to build it in was in the middle of winter. (also yes, the rec room is slightly wider than the rest because it was too cramped)

And here's what it looks like from the outside. Yes, very boring on purpose.

3.80 Favor ain't fair

I couldn't help but watch the elders and how they dealt with each other. All of us had long since gotten used to this post-divorce world we lived in. Though everyone had moved on, I expected Winterfest to be very weird. Me seeing Dwayne with Mama or Dad hearing about him from me was one thing, but having them in the same room was another. Dad made a lot of progress, but was he ready for that? I had prepared to be a buffer or make an excuse for him, but he looked surprisingly comfortable. Dwayne was the one who was hesitant. He had always been reserved and comfortable in the background, however, so he could have been okay. Mama was all smiles, of course. Heh, this was probably the best day of her year with her kids and both lovers at home. I watched them all with pride despite feeling like it was all very weird. It took a LOT for all of them to get to that place. I honestly doubted Dad would ever get there, but he walked around Mama's house grinning up a storm and peacefully sharing a space with the man who took away his soulmate. Winterfest miracles did exist.

After dinner, Rosie found me, and I gave her some holiday love.

"Happy Winterfest, Ro! You've been a very good girl. You think Father Winter will bring you a nice treat?"

Alessia stood there watching us, and I hoped she would do better with our dogs than she did with Tofu.

"Did you meet your auntie yet?"

"Ehhhhh...hi," Alessia said stiffly.

I laughed.

"She's not gonna bite you, Less. Just put your hand out slowly and let her smell you. If she thinks you're okay, she'll let you touch her."

"Okaaaaay." She bent over slowly and cautiously. "I'm coming down...don't be weird..."

Rosie stepped toward her equally as cautious, sniffed her hand, and then sat in front of her.

"See? She likes you. Give her a pat on the head so she knows you're friendly."

"That was really cool. She's cute."

She never gave Tofu a chance. Maybe Rosie and Kooper will win her over.

Mama came in with the dirty dishes and caught Less and I having seconds.

"Hey! Don't fill up on that. There's dessert, you know."

Dwayne left shortly after dinner. He said wanted us to enjoy our family time. I could see the disappointment in Mama's eyes and imagined her saying something like, "but you're my family too." Dwayne was a realist, and I appreciated that because Mama's fantasy land was gonna get someone's feelings hurt eventually.

It was time for presents, and I caught a glimpse of Less and Sophia dancing in the living room as I passed by. Whether they had bonded or it was just coincidence, I was glad to see them together, not in conflict.

"Luca," Mama sang, "I've got something extra special for you!"

Alessia rolled her eyes.

"Here she goes with the special gifts just for Luca."

"It's not a special gift! It belongs to him."

She handed me a box, and I took it hesitantly. What did she have of mine? And why make a big deal out of it on Winterfest? She wasn't the re-gifting type.

"Uhh...thanks," I said.

I took the box and opened it slowly. Inside, I saw a painting I'd seen my entire life. It hung in my room when I was little. And then when we moved to Newcrest, Mama put it in the kitchen. I seemed to recall one time Mama said Gammy painted some things for my nursery before I was born. This had to be one of them!

"Gammy's painting?? You're gonna let me have it?!!"

"She painted it for you. The one with the dogs too, but I want to hold on to that one."

"Yeah, of course! Wow! Thanks, Mama. This is so cool!"

I thought about our frigid meeting in the cemetery often. I loved that I now had evidence of our past relationship and would hang it in a place of honor in our new house.

After presents, we gathered around the tree and sang songs. And as always, Less acted like she was too cool for school. That only made us turn up and be even sillier. At least she was in a good mood, though. At the end of the night, she sat on the rocking chair doing belly laughs. It was very contagious, so I joined in. Mama came in and told us a story about how Father Winter came to their house in Sulani while she was doing belly laughs. He thought it was adorable and gave her some tips! And just like how it happened in her story, Father Winter walked in on her doing a belly laugh demo for us.

"I remember you," he said. "You still go it."

"Thank you, Father Winter! This is my son, Luca! He's getting married soon!"

"Yes," he said, "I've been watching him. He's been very good this year. This is one of my extra special gifts."

I didn't know what to think. An extra special gift from Mama, and another from The Man himself? And I was getting married in three days to the kindest, sweetest, funniest woman in the world? It was all too much. I thought about everything I'd gone through and how burdened and confused I was. All of that was a test. I held on and did the best I could, and now I was being rewarded. Not with a gift from Father Winter, but in love, success, favor, and friendship. I had already reckoned with my problems, but at that moment, I felt like the struggle was officially over.

Newcrest Rescue Shelter - CC FREE

Location: Newcrest Lot Size: 20x20 Lot Type: Vet Clinic Play-Tested, No CC Used, Optional Mod Recs.

There are so many gorgeous vet clinics in the gallery, but I wanted one that felt like a realistic animal rescue center, so that I could use it with KiaraSims4Mods amazing Animal Shelter Lot Trait (which I highly recommend using with this lot if you use custom content in your game). And thus, the Newcrest Animal Rescue center was born!

I kept it cc-free so that anyone could use the build, and I added as much realism and detail as I could possibly think of. I also used THE front desk furniture item up front, so you can use Kuttoe's Front Desk Mod, and it should generate a misc secretary who will stand there, for added realism.

I'm pretty new at this whole Simblr thing so I'm still waiting on my simfileshare account approval! But in the meantime- you can find this build in the gallery using the info below.

TS4: Guitar Functional and Deco

It's not easy to find an alpha/realistic guitar for The Sims 4, right? So here it is! :)

This is something I've wanted to create for a long time ^^

It's based on a Fender Stratocaster, but it's called Newcrester, ok? 😅

- There are two functional versions: a normal one, and a "no effect" one.

The only difference is that the "no effect" version does not have that musical notes effect as your Sim is playing the guitar. It's better for Simmers who prefer a more realistic game or wants to record machinima :)

And there's also a decorative version that is a wall hanging object :)

- There are 30 swatches (image link).

- It's high poly (20k), but if you usually download and play with alpha/realistic cc it won't be a problem.

- I kept the guitar stand from EA and just retextured it. The guitar is an original mesh made by me :)

- It's base game compatible.

- Search for "channel4sims - guitar" and it will show up on buy mode :)

Welcome to the NewCrest Grocery Store 📍🛒.

I have posted it before but I just gave it some updates and also took new screenshots for my builds Instagram (simwithmishkabuildsx, if you would like to see more😊)

A little bit about the build:

Many of the items in this grocery store are functional if you use the realistic cooking mod by Somik and Severinka. I also used some of the recipe ingredients by Insiminia and personal care items (deodorant, lotion, tampons, pads etc) by Qmbibi and Wicked Whims☺️.

Instead of having groceries or personal care items delivered I can now take my sims here to buy it. I’ve also stocked the shelves with functional food, formula and hygiene items for infants and toddlers. I used the infant/toddler foods from S&S, formula by Pandasama and hygiene items from Qmbibi’s infant care mod.

So this is a very modded build but I really don’t like rabbit holes. I enjoy being able to take my sims here to get the things they need.

Ps: setting all of these items for sale took so long ⚰️💀
