Still, I've been thinking about what I could post here next, so I've prepared a few headcanons that define what I think a day off of games with the male characters might look like. 🙈

It depends on what time we are in.

If the beach still exists, Aguni is often prevented from doing anything with you outside if he already occupies the number one spot.

You would have to live with the fact that you would hardly have any time just for the two of you, because someone from his troupe would always want something from him.

If he realises that this is bothering you - or he is annoyed by it himself - he will turn his boys away and say that they should leave him alone for the next 2 hours as far as possible because he has better things to do.

In general, no matter what time loop we are in, I would say that Aguni would adjust to your needs.

I have the following typical scenario in mind:

Nobody said it would be easy with you, but let's be honest: it's the Borderland, what excited yet relaxing things could you do here so far?

Aguni: "So there are no games waiting for us today. Any ideas what you want to do in our day off?"

Y/N: "Uhm ..."

Aguni: "Come on, you must have been in the mood for something."

If you want to do something, then Arisu is definitely the right person.

The boy is always up for a lot of nonsense and fun activities.

This is probably also because he doesn't want to constantly think about the terrible circumstances that are happening here.

He has got used to life here, but living in constant fear doesn't get someone anywhere and only has a negative effect on oneself.

So, if he is being trapped in a world that could take his life sooner or later, he at least wants to live every day as if it were his last.

You will not regret spending time with him.

He comes up with the wildest ideas, starting with taking a closer look into the various broken buildings.

Of course, he would still be cautious of entering any places just like that- not that both of you suddenly find yourself in a game, because that's what you're trying to avoid today.

You still wouldn't be able to stop him.

Y/N: "A-Are you sure we should do this, Arisu?"

Arisu: "Nope, but you only live once, so let's check this building out- maybe we'll find some interesting things in here."

Y/N: "Would you define 'corpses' as interesting ...?"

Arisu: "Wow, you really managed to ruin my fun."

Investigating the building would include lots of laughter and piggybacks when your feet get tired from all the walking over ruins and debris.

Eventually you find out that this building was a former arcade.

You can definitely pass the time well there.

Arisu: "Would you like a game of billiards?"

Y/N: "I'm going to rip you off so bad, love."

Listen, this boy is a damn lazy piece of shit.

When there aren't any duties don't expect him to do something special.

He has no problem putting his feet up for a day and literally doing nothing.

Feel honored if he spends his time with you at all.

No matter where you both would be, he would find ways to just doze off and relax while you - after all - lie in his arms and enjoy his closeness.

It's nice that he can do that, but you can't.

He would definitely be a great help to you.

To me the funniest but most chaotic one.

During the day, at least.

I can well imagine that Karube and you had already planned the day ahead the evening before.

But what would life be like if everything went as planned?

The morning is pleasant. You wake up together and after a intense cuddle-round, you start your routine as usual.

Something very important when it comes to following his routine.

In the end, it all comes down to searching your whole accommodation for his cigarettes.

I really love hcs on how characters handle flusteredness when it comes to crushing

where Mario will become The Cockroach to you and be Really annoying but also sometimes is self aware enough where he can really make himself seem endearing and that's how he gets to you, and this is all entirely natural from him, you can just stand there and he's doing it like courting bird dance

4 well, we know how he bickers with 3, the mutual "you can't fluster me if I fluster YOU" going on with them, they never get tired of the bit I swear with the bonus of 4 being able to appreciate compliments when he sees them as at least somewhat genuine while 3 is still biting your head off and fighting or tries to manipulate you into thinking that you only say things you do because he conditioned you into them, therefore adapting a new Bit to avoid Feelings. this does not work with 4 sadly rip 3

Meggy is the "I'm gonna play this cool but I'm screaming inside" as in a thing happens that flusters and then she struggles to either change the subject or somehow try to downplay things happening, she likes feeling calm and collected too hard to actually let herself just feel stuff

Tari I think, depending on how embarrassing it is for her, from a scale of 0 to oh my god I gotta get out of here the whole world is making fun of me for this, she could be at either end depending on the situation. at 0 she's like giggling, smiling, blushing, fiddling with her hands and being so coy and so cute

Saiko hmm.......... a bit harder to put into words how I exactly see her. she gets lost in people's strength I think, like whoever she turns out to love she would definitely think about perphas her beloved's strenghts and power, whether that is to be themselves, I don't mean like......... deity powers necessarily ehjnklreekl but I think she would BOTTLE it up SO HARD and then feel it in private. She will like find the space to let herself feel stuff and how much her head has been spinning over such silly little feelings and if you accidentally find her while she's going through these feels depending on how close you are she can maybe either confide in you or you're immediately getting flattened by her hammer

Puzzles is stupid and puts his feelings into metaphors several times. recontextualising his feelings in many ways until it fully comes to surface and he can't hide it anymore. He would go through all the stages of love before he could truly ever let himself admit to it. He would feel the pain the agony the happiness the distance the closeness the warmth or lackthereof the light and the dark and everything and nothing, he would lay it out several times and do a spin on it as it slowly turnes out his stories about him and whoever he loves going around each other as maybe no story of his would actually have him get the person he desires because he just couldn't see such a reality and yet he bares this part of him out again and again as it itches his brain, a virus of a muse, until he lets it all out and all that is left is for him to realise what it truly was all this time

Melony. demisexual, that's my big headcanon. maybe demidemi. Her love would spring out of deep friendship, the slow build up of seeing a friend of hers differently, but it's slow enough where it never quite flusters her that much though casual romantic things would make her smile and giggle,

NOW KAREN!!! GOD. okay. OKAY. so. yall know I really like her w Flurrie. like really really. And that woman could absolutely fluster her, but even outside of that, I don't think it's hard to fluster her. NOW keeping her is a bit of a difference. I think she would find mutual trust the most attractive thing in a partner, where she could let herself have it as well and feel a bit more comfortable in being flustered and less like she wants to shut it down regardless of how it makes her feel because it could lead down an all too well known path she wasn't happy with even before, but when she trusts you, you WILL be partners in crime and what more could you ask for

Took a crack at coming up with my own take of Riddler. He's uhh... Definitely an interpretation.

Mainly, this version of him has never went to Arkham. He's always on the move and regularly "challenges" random people across the world with his riddles. If he wants money for anything he normally hacks people remotely to steal the funds (of course while leaving a riddle) and probably also while sipping a drink on a tropical beach somewhere and so he's never actually managed to be caught by the Gotham police. Rip them I guess.

Maybe he'll get caught someday, who knows...

The idea behind his whole deal started out with like a headcanon thing that crossed my mind. TLDR; in canon he normally has coding knowledge -> a lot of people compare knowing to code to knowing a different language which is honestly debatable but egh -> what if he was actually multilingual.

...Which is an idea I ran with. What if he wasn't just multilingual, but he's multilingual because he goes to so many places?

Not all his crimes are done remotely, it's just cybercrime is the easiest for him to pull off with low risk. According to him, all his actions are motivated by finding an intellectual equal. None of the people he's tested before with riddles in the bars and back ends of Gotham could match him (even with bets of money on the table) so he merely travelled elsewhere. He gives riddles to the strangers he meets day-to-day in foreign locales and he still wagers cash and drink against the people at bars that they'll never solve his riddles, just as he's always done.

He'll hack into a multi-million dollar corporation from a different country, plaster his face on every screen in the building, give a riddle and tell them they have 10 minutes to solve it or he'll empty the company bank account. Or, he'll do the same thing to a random citizen if he feels like. Same challenge, but, maybe the riddle is slightly easier, maybe he gives them slightly more time. Stakes are still there though, keeps things interesting. His reaction to the riddles being answered correctly, in both these cases, would be massively different, but he'd deny it if you told him.

+ We all know he likes video games and when you two are in relationship he would gladly teach the games to you which he has been playing.

+ You would get surprised and impressed when you saw his rankings, belongings in games and how he is so good at those games.

+ While you are in kitchen and can not open jar, you would immediately call Josko by saying his username in games. And he would come to the kitchen like he is invading in games, a little bending, arms pretending to hold a gun. Touching his imaginary earmuffs saying "Officer, how can i assist you?" with a deep voice. After he opens it, would say "Mission completed. I am leaving the area." Your giggles would make him happy while he is leaving "the area".

+ If you play Sims you would show him how to play and would make yourselves in the game (Building your dream house and putting Josko in it it would be awesomeee and having a family with him is😭).

+ If you do not drink alcohol you would get irritated when he drinks (he became a face of a beer brand lmao) but i think he would not stop it or try to reduce his consumption, only he would prefer drinking less when you are around but when you are not, would drink heavily.

+ He is very playful amongst people he loves, so he is messing up with you whenever he can, does not miss any opportunity. Like when he smokes he would blow smoke into your face and then would try to clear the smoke by waving his hand.

+ I do not think he wants marriage right now and it is okay to you also, because you think it is early for marriage due to your ages (Lets say you are his peer).

+ When you are on your period he would make a cozy arrangement for you: blankets, candles and incense you love to smell, little snacks coming with a heat pad. He would lay on the couch opening his mighty arms waiting for you to lay between his legs and lap. After you lay he would cover the blanket over you two. Giving you towel wrapped heat pad. "Oh my God Josko, you wrapped it with a towel?" asking him with your eyes literally shining, following a kiss to your hair.

+ He would take you to the Hırvatska, showing Dalmatian coasts. You guys would swim in the night when no one is there. I think he would be content with you swimming topless in the night.

+ I do not think he is jealous type, he would be okay you having male friends, going out with your friends in day or night and holidays.

+ If someone tries to hit on you, he would get annoyed but he would adjust his emotions upon how you react. But if the guy takes it too far he would step up and say something like "If you won't fuck off in 3 seconds with your own feet, i consider this is your last minutes standing."

+ I think he is rough in bed and likes quickies. He would be open to use toys, new positions, new places, handcuffs. Is a man who rips your lace underwear. Likes spanks 😏.

+ He would propose in a classic way with the Eiffel Tower sight, in a fine dining restaurant. He would express his feelings towards you with poetical amorant sentences: how he loves you and wants you near him till he dies, travelling the world with you, his loud heartbeat when he kisses you and how he likes when you pick him up from training so he does not have to drive.

So, this might be a specific request, but Naraku from Inuyasha has been doing somethinnnng to me lately lol.

Basically, could I request a hurt/comfort thing with a reader that was emotionally abused as a child where Naraku fucks up, emotionally hurts his s/o, and they break down begging him to “not do this to them” saying that they “can’t do this again”?

Basically a thing where Naraku realizes that his actions have CONSEQUENCES, and sees how his words can destroy the person he actually gives a fuck about, and that they can’t be tossed around if he wants to keep them in his life.

Coming off of a rather long fic I went for my normal style with some headcanons. I hope you don't mind. TW for past child abuse. It's not really mentioned in detail but it's there. Arguments and yelling, threats of violence aimed at others,mentions of death and murder A somewhat toxic relationship. This is hurt comfort but the writing at the start is only hurt! If fighting is something that bothers you please skip it. Undercut is all comfort. 

Naraku doesn't really know how to hold back in anything, be it a fight for his life or a mere argument with you

When the two of you fight it normally ends in him storming off before it can really blow up

You're the one person he really doesn't want to hurt but sometimes it happens, this is one such time

It might start small but fights can spiral out of control quicky and since Naraku never seems to realizes how painful his words can be it just builds

His voice is raised and at some point it becomes a one sided battle where all you can do is try and breath

" I truly shouldn't have expected much from some lowly human. No matter what I try to do it's like you just can't understand anything! Is it really too much to ask of someone like you?

it just goes on and on until you can't take it anymore, Naraku is ruthless when he gets like this and no matter how strong you are you can only bend so much

The breaking point is sudden and the tears just come rushing out soon sobs and the need to gasp for air follow

It's only then that Naraku falls silent, sharp eyes turn to you and freeze now unsure what to say or do

For the first time in many years Naraku feels a sense of guilt and doubt well up

However he's doesn't know what to say or do so when the silence only makes things worse and you start babbling out apologies while begging for forgiveness it hurts him in an unexpected way

It takes hours before either of you can properly talk and even longer before you can say you trust him again it leave Naraku feeling empty and uncomfortable, he'll do anything to fix it

It starts the moment you stop crying, he's still angry but now more at himself and the people of your past then anything else

At the start he won't want to apologizes it feels unnatural to him to bow down to anyone or admit he was wrong

This doesn't really last for long, a couple of hours at most before your silence and fear becomes unbearable to him

He's nearly begging for forgiveness now wanting nothing more then for you to look at him without fear

Gentle touches and soft whispers Naraku takes this chance to promise you the world and then some swearing silently to himself to rip apart those have hurt you before

He wants to wipe away the remains of everything bad that had happened but as a man somewhat stuck in the past he understand that's impossible so he opts for just trying to make it better

In the coming weeks Naraku will make sure all of his servants learn some new rules, no yelling, no fighting within view of you and no asking questions

Of course he plans to follow simple rules to show how dedicated he is to you

Gifts will be given when he can't find the right words and any names you gave him will be dealt with

Naraku will never fully change and you don't expect him to but he does learn to hold back

In the arguments still bound to happen he wills himself to keep his voice down, he no longer uses threats unless he's truly out of control ect

It's a rough start yes and something even after years of dating he would need to work but Naraku is nothing if not dedicated and for you he is willing to do anything

Two thoughts born from this whole talk of Sandman-plagiarism-or-not. Well, one born from the recent discourse, the other is a very old one that I posted about a long time ago and got buried by the years.

Thought A: While the whole thing of "Sandman is just a rip-off" of Flat-Earth has been shot down, it reminds me of what I noticed a long time ago and tried to tell people but nobody was interested X) I don't know if Gaiman was aware of this book, and I don't know if it is just another one of those strange literary coincidences, but "Sandman" the comic book and "The Neverending Story" the ORIGINAL NOVEL (not the movies, there's a world outside of American productions) have such strong parallels that the Neverending Story could be basically another facet of the Sandman universe. The Child Empress is basically Dream under a different shape, the Old Man of the Wandering Mountain has so strong parallels to Destiny, and Fantastica/Fantasia could be the Dreaming. I still headcanon that "The Neverending Story" is one of the many universes of the Sandman-verse.

Thought B: In all the accusations of Sandman plagiarizing Tanith Lee's Flat-Earth, I am very surprised nobody brought up the actual element that could look like a "plagiarism" and was very likely directly inspired by Azhrarn. I guess it is because a lot of the people who talk about the issue never finished Sandman or are only aware of the Netflix series... So I guess spoilers if you want to finish the Sandman original series? And also bg spoilers if you want to start Tales from the Flat Earth. Be warned, it's under a cut.

But if there is one element you can accuse Gaiman of having plagiarized (or being very heavily influenced by), it is the climax of Night's Master. You know how the big conclusion of Sandman is that Dream dies? He doesn't just "die" he purposefully sacrifices himself to save his realm and the world from a hateful force wrecking everything up. And the entirety of the Sandman comic builds up to Dream being stuck to the all, cornered by all sides and forced to let hmself die - Gaiman himself never hid how he hinted, prepared and foreshadowed this ending by the very first arcs of the story. Well... that's Azhrarn's situation in Night's Master. All the events, adventures and characters of the story causing a discreet chain of events that causes the birth of an enormous threat and danger that corners the Prince of Demons against a wall and forces him to die, to sacrifice himself to get rid of this power... Only to be reborn later because he is an eternal principle, just like how Dream is "reborn" because the Endless are, well, Endless.

If you want to accuse Gaiman of plagiarizing Lee, or if you want to find the strongest inspiration Gaiman took from the Flat-Earth, it is the ending of Night's Master, which was almost literaly re-created in Sandman and make a core and key element of the entire series' narrative structure and plot-building.

Some more things on Johnny as a werewolf because my little good boy deserves more headcanons

Transforming isn't necessarily painful; But it's really uncomfortable. It feels like his skin is stretching out, his muscles feel like they're detaching from his bones, only to stick themselves back on again, his face doesn't bring him pain, bit it doesn't feel like his...

Once he's done going through the motions, which usually takes an hour, he has full consciousness, which is both a blessing and a curse.

On the one hand, his senses are heightened, meaning he just knows stuff he couldn't learn before. He sees little scars on people, details even the person themselves didn't know, he remembers their scent to a T, and just by being around someone, he knows exactly who they are. He hears things he couldn't before, so sneaking around him isn't an option.

But, on the other, now that his hearing is 10 times better, every noise makes him jumpy, and if he has to be subjected to high-pitched noise, he can't stand it. He can smell smells very well, which means that if an odour is only slightly unpleasant it's an acrid stench to him;

Another thing I think is that he doesn't succumb to instincts, BUT... he can't help himself when it comes to fetch. He knows what he's doing, and he can stop it, but he just wants to play with his friends and s/o! And what better way to do it, than a classic game? So, imagine: This huge, grown-ass, 12 feet tall werewolf that can rip apart cars with his bare hands (or paws?), Sat on his ass Infront of you, tail wagging wildly while you hold a ball, filled with little holes from his teeth, drowned in slobber. Then you throw it, the bestest boy on the world playing fetch with you. It's surreal, but come on. Johnny knows he technically shouldn't like this, but he does anyway. It's a little embarrassing for him.

His fur is also like a dense carpet, straight and medium length, a dark brown. So fluffy. Perfect to hug. He's like an oversized poodle when you hug him, just so much soft floof to hug, it's so...

But during missions, while Johnny is transformed, he's a big threat. Bullets don't do anything to him, and with his heightened senses, strength and agility he can easily clear a base all by himself. Nothing can stop him, even metal doors, he can just open them right up or rip them to shreds. He's truly unstoppable by anything that isn't capable of telekinesis, so that's why Simon works so well in tandem with him, to protect him from such weaknesses and magic.

KAKFFKCKC WEREWOLF JOHNNY ME LOVE ME LOVVEE—have some little thoughts :P

-> I imagine that he gets overstimulated by his heightened senses sometimes. When he is safe, he tries to hide in a quiet, dark corner. Somewhere that won’t tear his eardrums apart, where he doesn’t want to vomit from so many smells. If he’s overstimulated on the field? He’s even worse—he’s borderline feral. He’s so desperate for all of the sensations, smells and noises to stop that he’s barely in control.

-> This man knows full well he will crush you by sitting in your lap, yet he still tries to, just like a lapdog would.

“Soap, jeSus, dude!— You’re heavy, get off..!”

-> Johnny throws himself to the floor and rolls onto his stomach often to show that’s he’s submitting and that he trusts you quite often; but that also means he’s shaking the floor, the whole damn building, even. Tongue out, panting, chest to the ceiling as he stares you down. He doesn’t want to admit it, but belly rubs feel good, too.

-> He loves when you pet him. Loves loves loves!!!

-> He can quite literally tear a human in half, yet he’ll let you examine his sharp canines if you wish to do so.

Kaveh AgeRe Headcanons

Slight Warning: nightmares, bedwetting, emetophobia, mommy issues, spoilers for Kaveh's backstory, read at your own volition

Kaveh is a flip!

—Kaveh is a flip with a little lean!

—Kaveh's regression age is 0-3, he's baby!

—Kaveh's primary caregiver(s) are Alhaitham, Tighnari, Cyno, and on a few rare occasions, Wanderer!

—You'd think he'd be a high maintenance/high energy little due to how hyper he is as an adult, but baby Kaveh is actually rather low energy. He likes taking naps quite a lot too.

—Kaveh's favorite toys are a Goose plushie named Gee, and a tin of building blocks Alhaitham bought him. Kaveh loves building little towers and houses. Kaveh takes Gee everywhere with him, and Kaveh will cry if Gee gets "hurt" (stained fur/ripped fabric/fell in some mud/all those things) and will be inconsolable until Gee is better.

—Kaveh cries quite a surprising amount, the smallest things make him cry, he dropped his bottle? Its the end of the world. The sky isn't the right shade of blue? Unacceptable. Oftentimes a warm bottle and a cuddle will calm him down, but sometimes Kaveh just needs/wants to cry.

—Kaveh's pacifier is orange and yellow with a lion sticker, it's basically glued to his mouth, it's one of the reasons why Kaveh is nonverbal when in Littlespace.

—Kaveh is a padded little, he has nightmares of when his parents left, especially his father, which often leads to needing a diaper change.

—Kaveh wears almost exclusively onesies, he hates wearing adult clothes, especially his usual attire with the open chest.

—Kaveh has been mistaken as a girl, which he takes as a compliment. Kaveh doesn't mind being girly, which Alhaitham thinks is cute and likes to see how far that goes, so far Alhaitham has gotten away with putting Kaveh's hair in pigtails, dressing him in all pink, and on one occasion, even put Kaveh in a dress. Which Kaveh thoroughly enjoyed.

—Kaveh has mild food restrictions, he is a vegan as an adult, but he's made it clear to his caregivers that he'd rather eat meat or animal products then make his little-self go hungry. Oftentimes, Kaveh just has fruit and Oat milk bottles, but on a few rare occasions, he'll help Ali—The name is little-self blessed Alhaitham with—finish up some eggs.

—Kaveh gets stress-sickness a lot when he's small, especially when he thinks about his parents, poor baby throws up a lot because of stress, which means he's in bed a lot. Tighnari is an impromptu pediatrician at times, making sure Kaveh is okay.

—Kaveh can, will, and has cried over thinking his caregiver(s) was leaving him, even just being in a different room for too long will send him into hysterical pleading that he'll be good and that he won't cause anymore troubles and to just please keep loving him. (Alhaitham is not too happy over how his mother let her grief traumatize Kaveh)

—Kaveh's primary little(s) are Alhaitham, Tighnari, and Cyno! On rare occasions he'll babysit Aether.

—surprisingly, Kaveh prefers feminine titles like "mama" over more masculine ones like "dada".

—absolutely loves reading/playing with his kiddos, Kaveh is the go-to for storytime in Sumeru, hands-down the best storyteller in the region.

—Kaveh isn't afraid to dress up/get dirty with his kiddos, his Little's are the only ones allowed to touch his hair, what an honor!

—Kaveh can't cook that well—his parents never taught him—but that doesn't mean his Little's are living off fast food, Kaveh is teaching himself simple, baby-safe foods, so far, all his Little's unanimously agree his fruit purées are amazing.

—Kaveh has an amazing singing voice, but he gets stage-freight, he only sings to his babies when he thinks they are asleep.

—Kaveh loves carrying/holding his Little's, which works for him because 3 out of 4 of the Little's he cares for are clingy infants.

—Kaveh is a rather emotional person as we know, you can expect any art work his babies have made him framed on the wall, and he will brag about how talented his Little's are to anyone/anything with the ability to hear.

—the best at comforting, Kaveh knows all the right words—or lack of words—to calm and comfort his babies, Mama Kaveh always is open for a cuddle if needed.

Help I was reading Academy X again, and now I'm in a Surge x Hellion mood. Time to gush about my headcanons of them as a couple.

I'm not going to do a write-up about their evolving relationship over time. Not yet, at least. Maybe one day. But let me pitch a hypothetical scenario to you guys. Let me set the scene. I want to just sort of walk myself through how a modern-day Hell-Surge ship could work. (Surgeon? Surgon? Juliko? Norian? JuNo? How about ThinkFast, since Julian is psychic and Noriko is a speedster?) Surge is kinda dead right now, but this is the X-Men. Even with the Academy X curse, she'll be back. If anything, the ship would be much more compelling because of the death.

So here me out on this one, motherfuckers. Remember how upset Surge was when her friends were in danger. She flipped out and hit Julian after finding out he and Laura went on a rescue mission during Mercury Falling.

Surge has mellowed out since then. But even in the current X-Force book, we saw that she won't leave anyone behind. Deep down, she has that heroic nature.

Her concern was not inherently romantic. It definitely wasn't meant to be during the above scenes. But still. I think it's cute and could be a nice building block for a theoretical romance.

Now let's flash forward to the current era, where Surge is currently in a new phase of her life: death.

We deserve to see how all of the Academy X characters would react to this. I NEED to see how David and Sofia react. But this is a JuNo post, so let's focus on our boi, Hellion/The Krakoan.

Julian would be furious. Despite their ups and downs, he respected her. They butted heads, but they understood and related to each other on such a deep, unique and personal level. They both knew the burden of being a leader and worrying about being able to protect others. They were really good friends, even if they didn't have a conventional friendship.

He'd absolutely go after X-Force and Forge. He already hated the adults for letting the kids die on their watch. First thing he's gonna do is fly to their ship, get mistaken for an enemy and be blasted out of the sky, because Julian's existence is only pain.

But AFTER that, he's going to rip into them. Sage might run a little bit of defense for Forge's sake, though we know she was all sorts of raw over Surge's death and Forge feigning his acceptance of it. Forge would probably chew him out for being so blinded by his feelings, he doesn't care that the world could have ended and Surge would have died anyway. Regardless, Julian will be so angry, he won't care how they feel. Even if he could see their pain, he wouldn't care. He would make sure they knew how badly they messed up, how disappointed he was in them, and how they should never forget what had happened.

Maybe Hellion could try and get on the team to continue the mission Surge believed in. Or he could go about his own path, causing chaos and destruction to eliminate some non-mutant threats, so no one else has to do it. Let no one have to sacrifice themselves for the X-Men, or a world that hates them. I like the latter idea a lot, because it gets to a core element of Hellion's character: he cares about others and wants to protect them, but he thinks his path is always the best one. And his logic is colored by his emotions.

But imagine how things would be once Nori comes back to life somehow. He'd be furious at her for sacrificing herself, mirroring how Nori felt after Mercury Falling. Meanwhile, Nori has no regrets about what she did. And frankly, it's not Hellion's, or anyone's decision, on what she does with her life.

As mad as he is at her, Julian loves that she's willing to stand up for herself, flip him off, and do the right thing. She makes him so mad, but he wouldn't want her to change.

And that's when the realization hits. For both of them.

For Julian, she affected him so deeply that his world was irrevocably changed when he lost her. And now that she's back, he doesn't want to lose her again. Not everyone can crack though his tough exterior, but she touched his heart deeper than anyone else did.

For Noriko, she hears about how Julian grieved her harder than most people ever will. Noriko was abandoned by her father and had people see her as an unreasonable bitch. She threw away her relationship with Prodigy to protect him, and it drove them apart. But now, under no one else's provocation, Hellion proved that Noriko had someone who loved her, warts and all. In fact, the very elements that make people dislike her (ie: her rash decisions when she wants to do the right thing; her desire to protect others; her self-sacrificing tendencies) are actually positives in his eyes. Hellion is intrigued as he is frustrated.

A relationship born from animosity and childhood squabbling. Forged by fire, it grew into respect and understanding. And through tragedy, it turns into admiration and love.

Though there's still the elephant in the room: Sofia Mantega.

Julian will always love Sofia on some level. Even if they're not together, they have a strong connection. He could move on from her, but he would never do something to hurt her. And dating one of her best friends could hurt her.

Likewise, Nori's not going to just take her best friend's ex. Even if their relationship was years in the past, Sofia was always there for her. And Surge deeply cares about her friends. She'd especially care about Sofia, since Sofia was one of the people who was always there for her, even at her worst. They lost touch after M-Day, after everything that has happened since, I feel like Noriko would be more paranoid about losing her friend again.

I think that if a romance were to bloom between Julian and Noriko, Sofia would have to be the one to take the initiative. She'd see the attraction and, putting her own feelings aside, approve of it. It could be awkward and painful, but it could work. Honestly, I feel if any of them were to genuinely get over the awkwardness first, it would be Sofia. Like assuming she was genuinely over Julian, she'd be actively pushing them together... while also reigning the two in, if they started butting heads over things.

Then we go the BotA card game route, where JuNo grow up, get married and wear matching costumes.

Oh, another possible ship name: BrainStorm. I wouldn't be surprised if this name was taken by Forge x Storm, and I know Valeria Richards is using it as her hero name right now. But this isn't about them. This is about BrainStorm.

In the days when it's too hot to wear them Aris carries them in his backpack for you

But that's really the extent of your interactions

You've just had more time to build up trust with the people of your own Glade, so it's easier with them, but you're still chill with Aris

Winston

You didn't really know Winston back in the Glade

But it still hurts when the Cranks get him

He shields you away, not letting you see his wound when he shows the others

The Gladers help him do the same, hiding you from him when he starts looking worse

It's like there's some silent pact between everyone to protect you from seeing as many bad things

Your age seems to make them want to preserve your innocence, or something

Anyway, he always looks after you, until the end

Frypan

He always had a soft spot for you back in the Glade

That kindness doesn't stop when you're out in the Scorch

He always makes sure you've eaten, and he even offers you some of his food, even though he probably needs more than you

Frypan does his best to keep the mood light for you, cracking little jokes and pulling faces to make you smile

Teresa

For Teresa, you're actually a reminder of what the world was like

Look, we all know Teresa betrayed the group, and that was really shitty

But we can get her motivations sometimes

She looks at you and sees the people she should be saving, the people she wants to protect

You're actually a symbol of hope in her mind

She wants to make a cure so that people like you can live in a world without the Flare

Of course, you would rather she just not betray all your friends, but that's just how her mind works

For you, she's kinda like an older sister... or a mother (lol)

You always sleep beside her at night, and she'll hold your hand while sleeping so you don't have nightmares

Thomas

Thomas is actually kind of a role model to you

You admire his relentless no-one-left-behind mindset, and his bravery

He doesn't really have time to look after you like the others, but you always fuel his spirit with your unfailing optimism

He makes the most time with you at the end of the day, when you're resting

He comforts you when you're scared at night, staying awake to talk to you about simple things, or to tell you a story to take your mind off your fears

You cuddle up to sleep between him and Teresa, giving both of them some calm and peace, since you can tell his mind is always moving a million miles a minute

He's kinda like Teresa with you, actually

They both look at you as a hopeful future, something they have to work towards to protect you

But the difference is that Thomas works to get you and the rest of the group to a safe place, while Teresa... you know, gives you all up

Newt

You trigger some strange memories in Newt

He doesn't really remember, but he had a sister before

You remind him of what it's like to be an older brother

He protects you like his own sibling, making sure you get your sweaters from Aris' bag when it gets cold

He also defends you first when you end up at Jorge's warehouse

When the guard people are closing in on you, he shoves you behind him and threatens to kill anyone who touches you

Obviously they have guns and are stronger than the lot of you, so all you end up getting strung up by your feet

But hey, he tried his best, and it was all fine in the end

Minho

Minho is your favourite

(you're his favourite too)

He's snarky and to-the-point with everyone else, but he's always soft with you

Back in the Glade he'd always let you sit in the Runners' hut and chill out, just drawing pictures or messing around with sticks from the Map

Some days when it gets late, you get tired from walking and Minho will give you a piggyback ride

Usually you'll fall asleep on Minho's back like that, and he'll have to gently put you down, trying not to wake you

Minho's actually always carrying you

Like, in the hard situations - it becomes a regular thing

Some bad shit going down? Get on my back

He's carrying you when you're running in to the warehouse, and you almost get struck by lightning with him

Back when you were escaping the Maze, he was carrying you there too

He either had a flawless sleep schedule (early to bed early to rise ass mf) or no sleep schedule at all (spending 3+ nights hyperfocused on smth). It made for a very loopy Phil sometimes, which his murder of crows very much enjoyed

This man can fit so much joy and whimsy in him. Everything is awesome, everything is a breathtaking work of art and everything is decades of rich history to uncover. He loves life, he loves the passage of time, he loves teaching the murder about what he finds & restores

That's his main hobby besides being a survivalist, restoration and an informal form of archiving. He sketches the builds, takes notes on the deities, adds his own little touches to each place to make it a little prettier

He could fly for hours. Sometimes he'd fly aimlessly into late into the night, too immersed in sight-seeing and chatting with the murder

He had little altars in Flowerfall, Nether Void & Greater Spawn Islands for OO, BE, and Rose respectively. He'd leave little shiny things, trinkets that made him think of them, offerings like cooked fish or blaze rods or flowers in little offering bowls. Just as a nice, more direct way of giving them thanks for creating something so beautiful and allowing him to restore it to its former glory

He fucking loves swimming and fishing and hanging out at Endlantis, he'd just very aggressively avoid the cave that is EK's tomb. It was extremely haunted, he never got good vibes down there

He sometimes considers making his own remarkable build as a sort of "I was here, I too am a mark upon this history" but looks at his house and is like "mmmmbetter not" (he's an idiot, he could 100% build something cool, just probably not on the scale of the builds the gods have created. He'd probably create it for Goddess of Death, not even himself 💀)

Obligatory gapple addiction mention. It didn't start because of the murder, but he definitely used them as an excuse to further indulge once he started devoting eating one to the crows who'd been in the murder for a year. He never really had a reason to quit, or worry about the addiction, so he never experienced negative effects from it. Gapples aren't exactly harmful, just.. tinged with just enough magic to infect the brain. (He never experienced withdrawal misery on QI bc the Feds wiped his memory so his body had no idea it should be having a bitch fit =) )

Semi-related, he loved the days where he and the murder lacked the motivation and focus to do restoration things so they'd just fuck off in a random direction for ages and go on loot sprees. Nothing more exciting than hunting for more god apples :D

He started out liking fishing. The murder got too obsessed and it became the bane of his existence. But he loves the murder, so he does it anyway. Besides, he wouldn't trade chill talks with them for the world. :')

Btw he doesn't know this but it was equal parts the Ender King & the Feds ripping rifts between the universes that got him caught and taken to QI. EK didn't plan for that to happen, he just wanted to escape to a new reality to find a vessel to come back to power. Which is why once Phil was on the island, EK went "Fuck it, I'll use that asshole since he's not only compatible, but from the same plane of existence"

Mobs never scared him much (except Enderman) despite the fact that they were very dangerous and he's a survivalist. He was practically a mob whisperer, it's how he trapped trophy ones, made certain farms and why he was 99% fearless when farming charged creepers. QI has so many mobs he's never seen in his life that his chill instincts are suddenly like AAAWTFWTF

He never felt truly alone despite being the only humanoid. He felt like Rose was always with him, very rarely OO, and the murder ofc. He could understand them and he'd talk to them all day every day. Not only that, he had pets like Pog and Champ and there were quite a few times he'd humanize inanimate objects, which scientifically helps keep you sane in isolation such as survival. He always felt like he had Something to socialize with

That said, he IS still a bit weird socially on the island. Socializing with humans is way different than crows, other animals, gods, and objects.

Photonic sneezer for sure

Beyond that I think his nose is much more sensitive now than it was when he was alive so being out in the wilds I think made him an absolute sniffly mess for the first few days

After the initial shock of being in the wide open world I think the sensitivity to strong florals sticks with him.

Usually sneezes in doubles but sometimes threes when he’s really irritated

Covers with steepled hands or tries desperately to stifle

Is REALLY bad at stifling

I feel very strongly about this - his voice gets deeper when he sneezes/is congested

Like we know when he’s quiet and genuine his voice gets a bit deeper and less performative

And I imagine he’s shit at changing how his sneezes sound so they’ve gotta be deep in his chest

Typically follows up with a dazed, ‘excuse me’

Expects to be blessed and will be pouty about it if he’s ignored

Is an expert at covering sneezes but on the off chance he didn’t feel one coming he gets super flustered about it

King of the stuck sneeze and he’s mostly okay with that - if it doesn’t come out he can’t blow up lol

Once he’s cured of the orb the first time he catches a cold it’s the sneeziest cold he’s ever had and he lowkey forgets that he can sneeze freely until his partner or a well meaning friend gently points it out (or points it out like an asshole if you’re like that or Astarion lol)

His natural sneezes are loud and always comes in fits, like never one or two

Extended Author's Notes for Left Behind Ch3.

Chapter title is from "The Call" from the League of Legends 2022 Cinematic.

I absolutely love this conversation between Caitlyn and Petra. I don't know, I just really like the way the dialogue ended up.

Y'all were right! The guy who noticed Caitlyn leaving the Tower of Justice was bad news. He's not happy that Caitlyn attacked him (even though he was totally fucking asking for it) and that could potentially have consequences. ;)

I actually went back to add in the bit where, as soon as Caitlyn lowers her gun, Petra pulls her own gun out. She's looking out for Caitlyn, even if she's not always nice about it.

So, remember that line in the last chapter, where Vi was thinking about trophies and mounted animal heads and bodies strung up on the Bridge? She didn't see Tobias' body; she wasn't… awake for that. Hmm.

My personal headcanon is that Vi's anger builds up slow and steady, while Caitlyn's is kept carefully hidden until she just can't hold it anymore. And when she finally explodes, she's fucking terrifying.

Another thing about Caitlyn's reaction here: she canonically covers her grief with rage; think about how she handled her mother's death (and, yes, she was being manipulated, but still). Now multiply it - her father, her partner, her home, everything and everyone she knows. Just gone. Ripped away violently and without warning. Of course she wants revenge. Of course she's going back.

It's so fun to have Cait contradict herself immediately. "I'm not having this conversation right now" -> Sits down to have conversation seconds later. "I'm not making any decisions right now" -> Well, the first line of the next chapter is "It only takes an hour for Ghost to make up her mind."

Petra has dealt with a lot of people who try to close themselves off to keep from being hurt more, which makes her exactly what Caitlyn needs here: a non-judgmental listening ear who won't be driven off by the rage that comes with grief.

Caitlyn is not actively suicidal. She's passively suicidal.

You know how I didn't say anything about Vi's blood and brain matter in the first chapter? You know how brains make up details to fill in gaps? (Vi did get shot. But Caitlyn might be overestimating how… destructive it was.)

"I'm not that reactive." Sure, babe.

Caitlyn is 30. It's time for her to struggle with stagnation and self-worth and making rent. Write what you know.

Ah, yes. The nutrient feed. I'm just adding on to the dehumanization aspect. I'm sorry, Vi. I promise I'll give you a happy ending.

"Forces her expression to flatten" - that's important. Vi deliberately goes expressionless, and that will come up again later.

The longer it's been since a Maintenance session, the more Vi's mind clears. That's why she can pick words out of conversations here.

I couldn't go into it because Vi doesn't remember, but the pair of children's bodies that she remembers seeing pinned beneath rubble? Mylo and Claggor.

I liked throwing that little contrast in at the end. The last time Vi was with someone who cared about her, the world was burning down around them. Now, on a beautiful spring day, she's surrounded only by people who see her as a thing.

Little teaser for next week: Caitlyn will be reflecting on her past five years and will make a decision. Vi will be suffering, and we'll get to see her carry out that "kill" command. >:)
