You know, i didnt really realise this until i was reading into it properly but

It says that Garmadon took more risks after the Aspheera incident, not after the venom. Which implies the venom didn’t make him reckless and impulsive which i’d assumed at first tbh, ive seen a lot of posts say it too.

Which kinda implies the venom more likely affects emotions which are already there and probably amplifies them by corrupting said feelings?

I mean, it says here Garmadon became impulsive after the Aspheera incident, where the FSM started talking to them less out of paranoia and probably realising his kids weren’t mature enough to know about certain things.

What if the reason why is that the Aspheera incident and his father’s reaction caused resentment to build up in Garmadon? Then Garmadon started questioning his father and started seeing much less reason to obey his father as well so took risks and broke rules.

Then he got bitten by a snake whose venom caused him to become more impulsive and affected his thoughts and feelings? I say this because of the “It’s all Wu’s fault!” thing he said in the show. In other books, Garmadon goes on to blame himself not Wu, which really shows how he really feels and how he first blamed Wu due to the venom, not because of how he felt.

(Tbh i also feel if Wu was the one who got bit, Garmadon would blame himself the same way Wu did for centuries after. Like “I’m his big brother! Why didn’t I go? Why was I such a coward?”

On another note, sad Wu hours 😔, my boy had to grow up fast because of trauma. To be honest, it’s not uncommon for 7-year olds to test the limits of whats allowed and whats not. Breaking rules is normal kid behaviour to me, it’s just more extreme because Wu and Garmadon are the FSM’s kids (whose basically god in Ninjago.)

I imagine 7-year old Wu didn’t properly understand the consequence or the concept of going onto Serpentine land. Which isn’t illogical, he’s 7 years old. I imagine Garmadon was at least 10 (or maybe Wu was 10 and Garmadon was 13 idk) which means Garmadon being more responsible is more understandable, he knew more than Wu and understood more.

I also still find it so so sad how their roles flipped. Wu was always more curious and explorative which is why he went everywhere. I bet you he was the kid running and throwing himself in mud with his brother screaming at him not too lmao, or even the kid eating random plants as Garmadon tried to stop him. Wu’s curiosity and recklessness is still in him in adulthood, he’s very unhinged if you actually look deeper into him.

ok ven is genuineposting about a comedy podcast again alert but im in the middle of the newest dndads ep and ngl. one thing the crew has always done SO WELL is the way they manage to portray that these characters are real friends

the s1 dads are the strongest example of this to me and ill use those moments as examples because ive listened to it the most but its so obvious in every single other season and character group theyve ever made, and it popped into my head when the s3 crew learn that trudys a bot

like all the characters do fight and get into disagreements and do shitty things to eachother, sometimes the reason being that its a comedy and sometimes glenn stealing darryls car or any of them really calling any other dad a bad parent is funny ..... but then they have these insanely genuine moments that feel so fucking real and honest that arent played for laughs for a second. glenn hugging ron when he gets out of prison and ron crying, the rest of the dad crew essentially tackling glenn into a big hug after learning his wife is dead, everyone being SO ready to dropkick willy when they learn what they did to ron and yelling at him so much that anthony cant get a word in for a good minute, the hug darryl, henry, and ron have after ron talks to a therapist and henry talks to autumn and darryl talks to his dad, glenn sharing with darryl that he doesnt know what hes gonna do or if hes gonna stay in the realms after the big omegadaddies finale fight but never for a second even considering not helping the daddies get back to earth even if hes not gonna follow them,,,

i 100% believe that its one of the core foundations of dndads, that thats a big subconscious reason why people instantly adore this podcast so much and the crew is so fucking good at being earnest when they need to be. these characters, no matter which group of them were talking about (s1, 2, 3, or the miniseries ones) are real friends who care about eachother and would kill and die for eachother

my thing about drunz is that (this is S4 Drunz mostly) i think it is VERY one-sided on dreams end where she’s just DESPERATELY clinging to Punz as like. The only friend she used to have that hasn’t completely denounced her and wants her dead now and Punz is just like. Kinda stuck here because like. Both they want to help who used to be a close friend but also. Dream probably will try and kill Punz if he tries to leave or tries to push away her affections because shes just like. so untethered to any connections to other people that if the frayed one with Punz she has remaining stops she’ll have no qualms just killing him. She wouldn’t GAF… I think before S4 probably S1 it may have been reciprocated both ways but now? Its not!!!!!!!!!!!! At all!!!!!!!!! Punz kinda wants dream to die actually. Swagever

I often think about how the whole "two sides of the same coin" also applies to who lives and who dies. Merlin simply can not coexist with Arthur the way he is without absolutely destroying himself through his undying devotion. Of course, I'm not saying Arthur is a bad person. It's just that Merlin devoted himself so strongly to Arthur, and Arthur doesn't even notice it half the time, and because of that Merlin ends up giving up so much that he ends up a shell of his former self. We saw it over the course of the entire show. Two sides of the same coin also mean that they will forever be forced to be facing the opposite direction.
