He and luke are some of my comfort charichters (I love Alex too tho, so so much) and all of the boys are so autistic/nuerodivergent coded as well as being incredibly gay-coded (I mean alex is actually canonly gay but let's be real all of the characters in this are all Not Straight/Not Cis.)

My two theories are:

Reggie always chewed on his bass picks and for his 15th birthday or something alex and Luke got him the necklace for him to have something else to chew on because reggie was always without a pick or stealing their or snapping them in his teeth and having to get new ones. He's really grateful for it but doesn't wear it to their concerts so that fans and strangers don't think he's weird. So when he dies without it on he's really upset that he's not going to have it for the rest of his afterlife, and when the boys find the clothes in the loft he's so exited and puts it on right away.

[EDIT: I've checked and he was wearing it in the opening scene of episode 1, meaning he died in it :( I still think its a sweet idea tho]

(Very plausible seeing as though I used to chew on my guitar pick and only stopped because it broke and now I have no guitar pick and no chewlry.)

Reggie was trying to mask his autism from Julie because he was scared of what she'd think and stuff and it made him really stressed and he started chewing on everything- his pencils, his guitar picks, his sleeves, his cutlery, EVERYTHING. But hiding all that from Julie was exhausting and so in the end he stopped stimming alltogether and not doing it made him overload and have a meltdown. Alex and Luke sprung into action and helped Reggie through it, he went non-speaking but nodded when Alex asked him if he and Luke could explain what had happened to Julie. She's really understanding and apologises for not knowing what to do. When Reggie gets his voice back he says his favourite stim aside from playing bass is chewing and said that if she was grossed out by it he would warn her before doing it so she could leave the room or something. Instead she buys the chewlrey for him and he never takes it off.

Or as a third theory he couldve gotten it as a kid as a gift from his parents if they weren't as bad as fanfiction and theories say they are.

Dick tries to tell himself that he's better then Bruce. He's not going around taking young orphaned boys with unique abilities willy-nilly. No, he very careful. Besides this is first- well second sidekick.

He's doing a public service anyways. You can't have a kid with giant bat wings just falling from buildings. If Nightwing hadn't stepped in to stop those goons trying to catch the kid and sell him then who knows what would have happened. What if they tried to cut off his wings and turn the boy into a bloody trophy for the Bats?

There are many villains in Bludhaven who'd take the boy out or take him in. Dick already had a sinking feeling that Heartless would try his hand at killing the kid after all he targets the weak and helpless like a coward.

It was easy enough to convince the boy to be his friend. Dick did have natural charm and charisma after all. All it took was a meal from batburger and a fruit cup to get the kid to open up.

Danny (apparently his family gave him a normal name) didn't live with his family anymore due to ideological differences. That difference was that they thought he shouldn't exist anymore and wanted to turn him into an experiment. Poor kid didn't even get to finish his freshman year of school before he had to leave. He was a small town vigilante for a few months before the incident.

Dick saw an opportunity but was subtle about it. He invited the kid to live with him until he got his education. Its also totally ethical because the kid was a vigilante already.

Everything kind of went by quickly. Dick had done everything possible to hide Danny until he could come up with a plan of how to tell everyone.

True Dick didn't "need" a sidekick but come on, look at him! He's a boy with bat wings! Dick could put a little cowl on him and dress him up like Batman. I mean he's not a dog but it would be funny. The irony there, the bird-themed hero now had a bat-themed sidekick. That is the universe's way of sending a message.

After training Danny Dick learned that the kid had an endless supply of energy and ADHD that rivaled his own at that age. The kid also couldn't fly, it was actually closer to gliding which was still useful but he kind of looked like a flying squirrel when he jumped off ledges.

The term issue with taking Danny in was that Dick was still a Wayne and while he could hide the kid while he was swinging through Bludhaven, Dick Grayson could not.

Danny could hide his wings like they weren't even there whenever he wanted to look human. Which was a start, next he needed a new identity. One that wouldn't tip anyone off.

Dick needed to pull some strings without alerting Barbara or Tim. A new name was forged: "Daniel Nightingale" (Dick patted himself on the back for that one).

With that Dick was ready to let Danny out in the field. For the most part, Danny was as reliable as any Robin if not a bit crazy. Danny was way too charming for his own good but also completely feral. The public adored the domino-masked kid in his green and black costume. Danny didn't wear a cape because of his wings so he used them as a cloak.

When citizens saw them in public they'd offer the kid fruit cups and candies just to get close enough to see his wings. The people of Bludhaven were also excited to have their own version of Robin since Gotham had so many. Also, the kid was so marketable. Look at the way his wings flapped when he was excited.

Danny's or more specifically "Batboy's" presence would not go unnoticed.

Well, this can't end well.

Welp. Dick should have expected this. He couldn't even be upset. He doesn't regret anything that he's done.

Danny was still in bed, actually it was a hammock which was more comfortable for a bat. Dick wondered if he could sleep upside down. The kid was comfortable here and probably better off here than in Gotham. Once the adoption goes public however things will get complicated. Danny may end up Bludhaven's sweetheart or outcast. He'll probably end up fine...probably.

I need to see more demigods who bite. Like jason totally feels the need to bite stuff, and leo half-jokingly suggests getting him a chew toy (like a dog). Nico absolutely bites to show affection, (maybe not willy nilly like jason but still) like just randomly biting people he's close with shoulders or hands because he just loves them so much (jason both bite to express affection and stim)

oh absolutely. I actually have a tier list of "which of the Argo II crew & co are most likely to bite:"

Jason gnaws on people to show affection. He is extremely "Everything I love belongs in my mouth and everything I hate belongs between my teeth." He mostly stopped doing it for awhile cause of the whole "being trained to be the Perfect Praetor™" and having to mask a lot more, but he picked it up again a bit when he and Reyna became friends cause she didn't care and then more with the Argo II crew. He definitely hoards chewlery. He also definitely bit Krios real bad when they were fighting, if not outright killed him with his teeth.

Nico is a younger sibling. He has no qualms against biting in fights, any fight, but he does associate biting with fights. Jason tries to friendly-bite him one time and Nico just takes it as declaration of war and they end up tussling for like five minutes. After he gets used to Jason though he picks it up a bit too, mostly just chewing on people's hands. Also I 100% hc that when he was in Tartarus he just went full teeth-and-claws mode to survive. Honestly he bites more in regular combat and even training than Jason does, mostly just cause he's not above fighting dirty. If it works, it works. Also I hc he has sharp canines and is small so he might as well.

Frank's third but only on technicality cause shapeshifting. When he's human he's pretty much equal level to everybody else which is "only bites as a last resort."

Everybody else is pretty on-par with each other but Percy is probably just sliiightly more likely to bite not for any particular reason, he just considers it a valid fight tactic in a pinch (unlike Nico, who just considers it a general fight tactic). Also he got the oral stim adhd vibes. He has a lot of chewlery. They're all sea-themed, of course. Thalia is also pretty equal to Percy in terms of "biting as a valid fighting tactic."

Annabeth is also like. She's less likely to bite than Percy but more likely to than the rest of the crew. It's just a valid battle tactic under certain scenarios to her (and that includes training). She does consider it a low-blow though. She's also definitely got the oral stim adhd too. Lots of chewlery, rip her pencils and pens, etc etc. Her and Percy probably have a shared chewlery collection.

Piper is not the bitey type but she does have little to no formal combat training so yknow, wet cat technique. I do also totally believe she'd also have a chewing stim though. Like yknow how I draw her with the little braid sidebangs? Yeah she definitely chews on those and that's part of why she wears her hair like that. The other reason is that braiding it is one of her other stims.

My Julie and The Phantoms headcanons (Sunset Curve Edition)

Reggie is a disaster bi

Luke is pansexual

Reggie has had a secret crush on Luke since the 90s but has been quite good at hiding it (Well, at least up until the Chemistry scene in Ep7)

Reggie comes from an abusive household (not necessarily physically, could be emotionally abusive)

Reggie has nightmares and the boys have had to help him through them many times

Alex’s parents are religious (their reason for not accepting Alex being gay) and therefore Alex has issues relating to religion

Luke’s parents used to let Reggie stay over whenever he needed, and they were kinda aware of his situation but never wanted to pressure Reggie into talking about it

Bobby also let the boys sleep in the studio if they couldn’t go back to their own houses (cause I think we all came to conclusion that Julie’s house used to be Bobby’s)

Alex, Bobby, and Reggie had their driver’s licenses, but Luke didn’t cause he kept failing the test.

Reggie has Inattentive Type ADHD and Luke has Hyperactive Type ADHD (Not Sunset Curve related but I also headcanon that Willie has Combined Type ADHD)

Alex is autistic and has general anxiety disorder

Reggie is dyslexic but is really good at maths

Luke was really good at English in school

Alex can draw really well and used to do it a lot in his spare time

Reggie is still slightly innocent and childlike because his childhood was mostly full of trauma, so he’s making up for it in his teens/as a ghost.

The boys had to have “The Talk” with Reggie (which was probably very awkward) because his parents were too busy fighting with each other, and Reggie never paid attention in health class.

Alex wanted to know how to do the cool drumstick twirl in his hand and practiced it for hours, sometimes even until his hand cramped. He dropped the stick many times and also hit himself in the face a few times, but eventually got the hang of it. He was so proud of himself when he finally mastered it and immediately showed it off to the boys at band practice.

Luke wanted to be able to swing his guitar around his body. He finally learnt how to do it. Though not without breaking many straps, and a few trips to the ER after smacking himself in the back of the head with his guitar.

Reggie has an attachment to Ray because Ray is the father figure that Reggie needed. The father figure that Reggie never had.

The boys can all speak a different language (based on the actors). Alex speaks German, Luke speaks French, and Bobby speaks Filipino. I headcanon that Reggie can speak Italian (idk why but I do haha).

Luke is actually Canadian amd moved to America as a kid, but died before he could lose his accent.

Both Alex's parents and Reggie's parents are conservative. They probably voted Trump in both 2016 and 2020. Unless Alex's parents changed their views after his death.

Bobby’s parents are very liberal, and both Reggie’s parents and Alex’s parents don't like them. Though the Pattersons got along well with all of them cause they refused to talk about politics (though they are probably liberal like Bobby's parents just not as extreme).

Medical care costs a lot of money, not to mention heroin; he was probably in food scarcity at least once Willis got caught and sent to jail and he had to take care of his mom himself, before he even ended up in the streets. In the streets, Jason calls himself his own man and steals to survive, so he doesn't have like zero access to food, but no, seeing where Jason lives and that his income source at some point is "stealing from batman" i'd bet on pretty severe food scarcity. Not starving enough to die and not starving/not suffering from malnutrition are pretty different goals after all. Then Jason ends up with Batman and hey! Regular food intake. Though looking at his workout in the six months following his adoption is a little concerning, it's comic book science, let's just assume he's getting enough food and robin gives him enough magic that it's not a problem for his growth. Yippee, Jay can start growing again! Except when he dies, he's still tiny. Not as small as when he got adopted, but like, tiny (4"6 I believe? At 15.) This, along with how big Willis was and if we consider Jason's height in UTH, suggests that his growth is still stunted after three years of consistent adequate nutrition.

Obviously he doesn't grow when he's dead, but there's no reason he wouldn't grow in his coma, he's being fed and basically sleeping so no scarcity at that moment (though some level of muscle atrophy is to be expected). And then he's back to the streets, deeply dissociated, suffering from mysterious (as in hare to evaluate) brain damage and with muscle atrophy, for around a year -he's seen finding food, but again, he's most definitely not eating enough at that time. And then, he's in the league, where he definitely gets enough food, Talia isn't gonna starve that kid. So, through his childhood and teenagehood,Jason goes through several periods of long starvation. Though I don't know the intricacies of critical periods and chronotopic constraints in physical growth, the probability of him not receiving food during some of these periods is very high imo. And then of course there's the fact that not only does he go through intense stress/trauma/adverse childhood experiences for most of his childhood and teenagehood, which as you pointed out also stunts growth, but since he's still a teenager/growing in Lost Days and UTH and considering his mental state in these stories, this could also effect his growth. And also, even if Jason would have caught up eventually, catching up on growth takes time!

So those are all the arguments that lead me to conclude: while it's technically possible for Jason to have been this big in UTH without the Pit influence, I don't find it very probable. And also of course a question of taste: they could have made Jason tiny in UTH, and they didn't. Cowards.

Do not apologize, I have not been asked this as of yet, I tend to be too anxious to speak about my farmer and his lore much so this is very much appreciated in fact. Thank you for that. (and thank you for the compliment, he has brought me joy for sometime and I am happy to share that joy with others! hope you have a nice day as well)

Putting it under a read more as I do not want to accidentally clutter anything.

Wolfe is friends with a good handful of the valley's residents, but it took him time as like myself, he is very anxious and light of words in unfamiliar or tense situations. His first friend in the valley was Emily, she took him under her wing as she could tell that he was extremely awkward and needed help making the first step in social situations. This was very much appreciated by him as he nearly left the valley right after arriving due to second thoughts and fear of not fitting in.

Another resident he's close with is Willy. He of course was drawn to Willy due to his fisher profession, but what really cemented it was that Wolfe loved hearing his tales of the sea from both his and his father's voyages. Wolfe does see Willy as a semi father figure for himself, but more so someone of respect and who has lived their life in their own way, which is something he strives for.

(sketches stop here, I was going to do more but my brain has not been very kind to me lately so this is all that I could muster)

The final of his early friendships he make is Linus. Wolfe tends to spend a good chunk of time time foraging and fishing, so he would end up in the mountains semi frequently(he hangs in the mountains or at the beach most of the time). Linus is another person he respects, his respect for the earth is very admirable to Wolfe. Linus has also fished him out of the mines too many times so they have bonded over that as well.

Later on he befriends Leah, Maru, and Sam (and maybe Demetrius, haven't decided but they're both science autism) when he becomes more comfortable with talking with others around town. He connects with Leah over a shared love of the arts(I don't talk about it much[anxiety] but Wolfe has an small artistic side as a hobby, mainly around sketching wildlife and his farm animals[might add more but don't want to make him too much of my self insert as an artist]), he was originally too scared to talk to her as he thought she was too cool and rarely got the chance to talk to her because of that. He starts to befriend Maru after he delivers a request that she ordered and they both realize that they can go off on scientific rambles and the other would listen and understand what they were talking about(to a degree). Finally Sam, they only started to bond more after the closure of Joja when Sam instead works for the library/museum. There Sam would ask him what something was after Wolfe donated anything, despite Sam rarely holding the information(no fault of his own[ADHD man]) he would enjoy doing it especially if it spurred a friendly conversation after.

There are a few people that I wouldn't call his friends but more so they have mutual respect and acceptance of each other and might chill and maybe chat. This includes Robin(most friendly of the bunch despite not being "friends"), Sebastian(I hc him as trans so trans respect), Harvey, Penny, Gus, Marnie, and the Wizard(he comes to him with lots of questions, and honestly one of the few residents he actually wants to befriend but the Wizard does not rub me as one for friendships).

There are a few villagers he's still hasn't fully concurred his anxiety around(George, Pam, and Alex), but there is only one resident he actively dislikes to an extent and it's Lewis. Lewis is one of the few members of the valley who slightly remember him from when he'd visit his grandfather's farm as a child, so not as Wolfe. Because of this Lewis was put off when he first arrived in the valley as the former owner's grandson and not as the granddaughter that he expected. Wolfe was originally trying to be stealth about it but Lewis was seen as a road block for him. He also does not respect Lewis's ability to run the town and does not think he's doing the best for the residents(he does not know what to do about it but is just bitter beneath the skin when it comes to that).

If I left anything out or have anything that you would like elaborated I would love to know! My brain is a bit of a mush at the moment so apologies if this is scrambled or missing any part, I also got a bit over excited and anxious to speak, so it may be a bit muddled due to that contrasting concoction. But seriously thank you for asking.

@ anti-autistic-diagnosis anon: while I think I understand what you’re saying (which, I think, is “autism is a real thing that real people have and can cause real problems, so projecting that onto fictional characters willy-nilly without supposed reasoning, like characters always displaying behaviours that are consistent with autism” but I may be misunderstanding so I apologize) the thing is, at the end of the day, headcanons, stories, art, etc. doesn’t actually hurt anyone in real life.

When I was a teenager I would have loved to see/read headcanons about my favourite characters sharing problems similar to me (I have depression, generalized anxiety, and social anxiety). It would have made my world! And honestly it would have made me feel less alone with my thoughts. It’s why I really like it when fictional characters in media are shown to have anxiety or depression and it’s treated seriously (and with care and love), like with Shane. But more often than not we don’t get fictional characters with mental illnesses who are treated with love, care, and all the seriousness these topics should get (think, for example, when was the last time you saw OCD being treated more than a joke, when autism wasn’t played as the “super genius who takes everything literally” stereotype, when anxiety wasn’t treated as the “oh they’re just a nervous Nelly” or “overly concerned mother whose worries are treated as a joke by both other characters in the show and the audience”, when ADHD was more than the loud kid who can’t sit still).

Which is why I really think sharing headcanons is great! Sometimes that’s the only way for you (or others!) to demonstrate that love and care. Because you (or others) can see a character you relate to, who maybe shows some of the same behaviour you do, and go “yes this character is like me and has X”. It kind of makes the character feel more personal to you.

Sometimes you just get hit with “this character has X because I say so” too. Other times it’s spite for the haters of a character that makes a person go “this character has X and no matter what you do, you can’t change it”. And sometimes it’s just the vice of a character that makes a person go “yeah they have X”.
