Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest

Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here

It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony

near the end of the 4th trial, when people started giving justifications for why watari makes the most sense as the one who started the fire, ojima said that she knew they had nine-volt batteries, more than that, she could have gotten the idea for using one in the first place by seeing wada tinker with the shake light.

like, thanks ojima. knowing him wada's definitely believing they died because of him after this...what the hell. it doesn't matter that it wasn't his fault, again. that he had no control over watari's actions, and if she hadn't known about the batteries, she would have easily found another method. it doesn't matter. he got sick, isono gave him protection, she died. he was weak, letting tsuno do everything for him, she died. he was trying to be helpful, to do something for everyone, watari and hama died. you know, wada's curse, everything i touch dies, all my friends are dead har har, it was just a funny meme but now it's realer than ever.

i can't keep anything alive. no matter what i do, or how hard i try. if you were still here, and i was dead, everything would be better. for everyone.

it's wrong to blame yourself for every single thing in your life. it's a cognitive distortion, he's full of them, but he won't talk about this to any other person ever, how is anyone supposed to change his mind? on the other hand...this in particular is not that irrational of him to believe. after all, hiroaki told him to his face that it was his fault isono died. and he took that to heart.

he had only recently rejoined the school staff, and now it's been obliterated. it's beyond survivor's guilt. in his place i would feel like the mere fact of my existence is a curse.

isono, tsuno, and now watari, and hama. the one who was as passionate about manga as him, the one who guarded him when he went to the bathroom, who kept him grounded and supported him during chap 3's trial, the one who read him a bedtime story. hama, the oldest and closest friend he had left.

hama's execution was so fucking brutal. it was beyond cruel. wada couldn't take it anymore. with overflowing anguish, he rushed forward, banging on the execution chamber glass with all his might. when he gets overtaken by emotion like that, it's like he becomes it, he stops thinking, he just acts, without any regards for the consequences. wada can be surprisingly strong under duress, and the KFTI is stingy as hell when kan's not buying tons of gold so...maybe they didn't invest in bulletproof or reinforced glass. maybe, just maybe, before hiroaki pulled him back, wada had done some real damage.

'no significant damage was reported'. maybe he truly had.

what else could he think of and do, if his body and soul get overwhelmed by extreme distress again?

...dude...i'm so scared for wada. anything can happen in chap 5. it's gonna be a wild card chapter. i've seen many interesting theories for who the victim and culprit will be... i've also seen the idea of wada offering himself up as a sacrifice, and... and with how he's been lately, i don't think it's that far-fetched. what's a better thing to do with this sad existence, one that kills everyone who gets close to him, than to give it up for everybody? to take all the love they gave him, all the sacrifices others have made for him, and pay them forward?

he doesn't want to hurt people. he is consumed by guilt and despises himself for any harm he believes he has caused. he thinks his life is completely worthless, even detrimental to others.

and, wada is kind. he's so forgiving. you can rough him up, but then if you offer him just a scrap of kindness, he'll let bygones be bygones. his whole life, he has been waiting, ready to jump at the opportunity to connect with people, to love and be loved.

and he is. he's become an integral part of the group. after everyone who's gone, he still has hiroaki as the person closest to him. he's very, very fond of him, and...if it's either for him, or for everyone...for their sake, i could see him brave the fear, and make the decision to go.

.....but. now that yonekura's outright confirmed that they will be 'returned to their environments'...if the game doesn't end with the killer winning and everyone else perishing... i want him to survive. i want him to live. even after he lost everything, even when they take away his memories, even if there's nothing left for him in his life, goddamn, i don't...i don't want to say goodnight to him. i want masanari to live. please don't go.

Dick. For the canon isn't real square I am Specifically talking about the Tom Taylor Nightwing run. Usually I ignore bad runs but given this one is ongoing (though about to end THANK GOD and get replaced by Dan Watters who i have high hopes for since i adored his Sword of Azrael (2022) run but i digress) so I counted it. Especially since it's so debated if that run is bad or not, for some reason. I'm a 90s Nightwing truther. I love Dick so dearly and tbh recently I've been more enamored with him the more I read his Discowing era, I didn't used to be as big of a Dick stan as I am these days.

Bruce. Honestly where do you even start with Bruce. I want to fist fight him and also patch him up. He got me into comics and superheroes as a whole but I roll my eyes whenever he shows up in a story. He's a bastard and usually not a good father but also complex and should be dissected under a magnifying glass. I love him dearly. He's also just the worst. I think that's why I love him. I'm always a fan of unabashedly Complicated Asshole Bruce who's generally not always the best person, particularly not to the Batfamily and that being the driving force of his relationships with them, especially in shipping.

And for bonus points, Tim. Because know above all else, I'm a Tim Drake kinnie /deg. He's been my number one for a decade and I've yet to uproot him from my brain. He's literally the Worst half the time and I love him for it. And the canon isn't real refers to Tim Drake: Robin because... that sure was a comic. And that's about all I can say about it. Pre-Flashpoint Tim I miss you so dearly. I think it's fun that I want to put him in a blender and drink the juice but also want Nothing Ever to happen to him.

I've been interested in the topic of what punks listen to other then punk rock(tm) (punk genres that are punk entirely/punk first ie street, oi, crust, uk82, anarcho, etc) so if you could read this and rebolg with your answer that would be cool

im not doing a poll because (i figured out real quick) theirs a lot of genres and sub genres that are not punk rock (shocking) and i didn't want to shove super different sound into one space (such as the "tough guy" hardcore of a hatebreed with the straight edge youth crew hardcore of a youth of today into one box but i didn't want to make a 10 million checkbox long poll, and i didn't want to leave stuff like hip hop,electronic,folk,metal, etc off the list and have it just be the stereotypical non punk music punks listen too

so ill just explain what i mean when i say a "non punk" genres. this could go from the aforementioned hardcore ranging from pg 99 emotional hardcore to the beating vegan edge of earth crisis. gabber, brakecore, house. hiphop... 2000s mall emo... 3rd wave ska... what ever type of pop you want to call girl in red. basically as stated any thing that is not a core capital P Punk rock (tm) genre. i would also love some of the band you like in particular ( and as examples). and if you can't exactly put a real name on it you can just put a fake name on it ( agin with band as examples) such as like 90s mall goth (marilyn manson), anime fan brakecore(goreshit), 2000s pop emo (paramore)

i feel as if im going mad so im going to just put this out here. real quick. movieunleashers starters ramble.

i cant stop thinking about how mudkip broke down in that one scene in "Typomaniac," when Chespin called him mean. for a second he lets his mask slip a little bit and to me he just... acts his age. he starts crying and calls chespin mean back. maybe im just hyperfocusing on this one detail but mudkip is about 12 years old.

and that just makes me wonder what happened in this guys life that brought him to where he is now. and it makes it all the more tragic how his whole world revolves around chespin, but he is the one bringing him the most pain. and how young he was when he died.

there is a large theme of growing up in "Rare Candy." the characters ages are emphasized in that particular episode, and one of the main conflicts is fennekin wanting to evolve faster.

the thing about characters in these stories is that they're not allowed to just be kids, to have a childhood. so many bad things happen to them. like. mudkips whole, Everything. fennekin when she was famous in typomaniac, or dealing with her own insecurities/pressure from society about her relationship w chespin. and chespin always having to shoulder his friends problems & always somehow managing to stay positive despite everything.

why cant they just. play video games. eat ice cream or something. go to the movies

at the end of the day, i think both mudkip and fennekin are characters who grew up too fast. by distancing himself from them, chespin refused to follow in their footsteps and just wanted to stay a kid.
