#Also I have been laughing about this way too hard

Theo took some comfort in the thought that Samantha would be careful. She was sensible and certainly a very capable agent, more so than him he believed anyway. He had to have faith in her and make sure he did his part right to help protect her. "Yeah, it's kept me safe so far," he smiled about the knife though he didn't really believe in such superstitions, not yet anyway.
She got him to laugh about him being Robin Hood, tickled by the image and comparison and the thought of how to pull it off as NYC's Robin Hood did cross his mind for a moment before he let it go, he had a job to do just as he was instructed. "I'd rather you were safe from the bears, but I think I would make an awesome Robin Hood."
He set the net down carefully when they walked onto the green and he spared a stretch of his own shoulders. That was heavy! But that meant it would be hard to get out of. "Do you think we can help this student?" Theo was hoping so but he also understood the reality of the situation. He had been exposed to the unnatural, tainted by it even, he likely wasn't safe to keep alive or at least free. But perhaps they could reverse what had been done and he would just believe it was all a wild fever dream. Or drugs.
Sloane laughed and shook his head, "I have many talents, but actually flying a plane is not one of them." Though it was in some way flattering that Violet even thought that of him! He would have liked to have been a pilot if he had the chance, but he had often been told he was too tall for the role. Oh well.
Inside the admin office the man behind the computer looked up to assess them, confused and a little intrigued that a professor was there and apparently his young daughter. "Very nice, Astrid," Sloane was sure to tell Violet for her greeting the man but it was also a little subtle praise for her less is more adaptation to the situation. Oh he was already proud.
"I find myself in a bit of a mess," Sloane began with the man, leaning on the counter a little and clearly looking that little bit exasperated. "My daughter, Astrid," he gestured to Violet, there was a warmth in the movement, a natural hand wave that in some ways offered protection as well as attention, "she's had to come to my work while her mom is..." he pretended to stop himself in his tracks, glancing at Violet and then to the man behind the counter, "busy. I have to work late and the poor child is very tired after a long and trying day. I don't suppose there's a dorm room for her to use, just until I am done working for the night? I'll take her home after my work is completed of course. Marking, sucks the life out of people and time right out of the day."
The man looked to them both, his attention turning onto Violet for a long moment while he considered his options. "Can I see your staff card, Professor?" He held his hand out and Sloane handed over his university ID, fake of course, and then put his enormous hand on Violet's shoulder as if trying to keep her warm and comforted in her cold and tired state. Quietly tugging on the heart strings of the man in front of them.
𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐎 & 𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐓 @multipleoccupancy
Samantha smiled softly. "I know. It's hardly ideal, but it's our best shot at catching the monster." Still unable to hold his hand to comfort him, she nudged him gently instead. "I'll be careful. And I have your knife. I'm sure it'll be good luck." She didn't want to think about all the ways their plan could go wrong. What was the point? She'd rather stay positive.
The bear argument had worked even better than she hoped. "No, no, you can have it," she assured him, "Violet gave it to you. It's yours. I'll just keep it safe in the trunk of my car, and use it on the occasional bear." Samantha would surely become a local legend if she killed a bear with a crossbow. "I'll bring it along on our missions, and you can use it. You'll be a proper Robin Hood." She winked.
They were approaching the patch of grass they had picked to set up the trap, and Samantha wasn't unhappy about it. The net was quite heavy, and even with Killian helping, her shoulders and arms were getting sore.
"You have a pilot costume? Can you fly a plane?" Violet didn't like that at all -as cool as a pilot costume surely was, that meant the Sloane from her timeline probably had the same disguise, and could get inside a plane if he wanted. A dreadful idea.
But she didn't have time to think about it. They were already stepping inside the admin office. She painted a tired look on her features -only stifling a yawn for now. Less was more had said Sloane, and she was eager to do a good job. "Yes, Dad," she said, and the words tasted like ash in her mouth. She smiled through it.
"Good evening," she politely told the man sitting at the desk. Violet had positioned herself slightly behind Sloane, as a shy daughter would. He was so tall and large that he made for quite the reassuring presence -when he was not the threat.

heads up: reader has been insecure about their laugh in the past. also very tiny mention of changbin lifting reader for a second when hugging them.
changbin is... nowhere near as subtle as he thinks he is. although you're not sure if he is trying to be subtle as he flexes now just to mix cookie batter. you're just trying to spoon out one of the final batches of chocolate chip cookies onto a baking sheet, but the way changbin over-exaggerates a big stretch before picking up the spatula catches your attention a little too easily (especially when his shirt rides up a little bit--although you know changbin says the same exact thing distracts him when you stretch, the two of you equally in love with the other).
"don't overexert yourself, bud." you don't hide the tinge of laughter in your voice in the slightest, especially when changbin grins at you. "we still have to deliver these after we finish 'em."
"i'm not!" he laughs a little. "you're showing off what you're good at," he nods toward the bowl in front of him. everything in it was measured by you and loosely incorporated. "i can show off for you, too."
it earns a snort of laughter from you as you immediately cover your mouth out of embarrassment.
"no!" he's already whining at you, pouting as hard as he can, "don't--that's cute and you know that i think its cute!"
that you do. you'd always been insecure about your laugh growing up, especially when it gets to the point where you snort--but changbin's always been delighted when he can get you laughing that hard. he abandons the bowl to pull you into his arms, lifting you off the floor for just a few seconds as he squeezes you tight.
"i love you," he says when you wrap your arms around his shoulders. his nose scrunches a little when he does.
and you steal a kiss from him before you have to go back to work. "i love you, too, you big dork."

Home For Christmas
Terry Richmond x BLACK!FEM!reader
WARNINGS: none, lil bit of angst if you squint, fluff, short.
SUMMARY: Your husband, Terry, promises to be home to you and your daughters for Christmas, but will he really?
✮✮✮✮
The snow outside lit up the yard in the moonlight, frost nipping at the windowsill the more the weather dropped. There wasn’t a soul outside, not even the little black cat you saw wandering around late at night. Even she couldn’t be bothered with the harsh cold.
The house was warm and so was the hot chocolate you cuddled in your hand, but nothing could warm you the way you needed to be warmed. Nothing could make you feel the Christmas spirit you wanted to feel.
You missed your husband like crazy and your kids did too. They could feel the sadness radiating off of your body and it didn’t make it better for them, but you couldn’t help it. Terry had been stuck in another state for work, promising that he’d be back on time for Christmas, yet, he hadn’t shown and it was 5 hours to 12.
The roads had closed and from what you heard, till further notice. Flights were being canceled left and right, hell, you were nearly snowed into the house, only a small walk way you shoveled earlier prevailing, but even that was starting to freeze over a bit.
“Mama” Your 7 year old daughter, Tiana, called for you, looking up from her laying position in your lap.
You gave her your attention, a soft smile spreading on your face. She looked just like you when she was upset. You felt bad that she was sad too, but it was the cutest face she made that made you smile.
“I thought daddy said he’d be here by nowww” She whines, her baby sister, Jasmine, almost immediately getting annoyed as this was her fifth time mentioning what she thought was the obvious.
“Ana, you have to wait! Mommy told you already” Her little finger pointed at sister with agitation on her face that made you wanna laugh, but that’d just get you scolded by ‘little miss thinks she’s mommy’ too and you didn’t think you had the energy to correct it tonight.
She had so much attitude before she even turned 4, all of it inherited right from Terry when it came to people she cared for the most, a trait of loyalty you were sure Terry also took part in.
Before they could even get to arguing, you set your mug down on the windowsill and gathered them both up next to you, their matching onesies getting all bunched up from mixing in one spot for so long.
“Aht, cut it out you two. Daddy means well when he tells us things, but…maybe he just got the times wrong. If he isn’t back by tomorrow, then we’ll just have to forgive him, okay?”
Your youngest’s eyes quickly fill with tears that pull at your heart strings, her lip poking up with a quiver only Terry could settle at the moment. “So he’s not coming back tonight?”
You sigh. A few more hours of this and you were sure to cry with her.
“How about we wish really hard and go to bed, then see what happens?” Your children were quick to try and disagree while attempting to flee, but you swooped them up into your arms anyway and cuddled them close, giving them their nightly kisses.
Your back may be aching tomorrow from sharing a couch with two children, but they convinced you earlier to be around here to ‘catch santa’ and you couldn’t help but give in with the possibility of Terry not being here and upsetting them further.
Hours ticked by and you counted almost all of them, going in and out of sleep until you were knocked out of your cycle by the sound of boots against hardwood. Your eyes cracked open, seemingly at the same time as the mini-me’s laying on top of you, that followed by a gasp from both of the girls.
You and the kids almost leap from your seats, the sun outside the floor to ceiling windows in the living room making an attempt to blind all three of you, but all of you were on a mission that couldn’t be ruined by sleep still being in your eyes.
“DADDY!!!” The screams of joy were so loud from the kids that you would have thought they were awake all along, not a speck of grogginess in their voice.
Terry toppled over with both of them jumping for his legs, but he still managed to hold them properly, giving them both kisses on their chubby cheeks that they happily accepted. You had no idea how he pulled something like this off, not to mention bringing the rest of their presents from ‘santa’ in without disturbing anyone’s sleep.
“Really?” You ask in disbelief, Terry giving you a shrug before sitting up, sending the two off to pick a present out to open.
You were still curious, a shrug not being enough for you. “How?” You squint, helping him up from the floor.
“Christmas magic, baby. I always find a way”
He smiles and kisses your lips, then leads you to the tree. Again, the explanation wasn’t enough.
“Oh, please! Don’t gimme that, I’m not five, Terry” You complain, pulling his hand off of yours to demand a direct answer.
Terry sighs and looks at you with his arms now crossed, still happy despite being pressed before you even moved to give him a kiss first. “If I told you, you’d call me a liar”
“Well…” You wait, tapping your foot to add on effect.
There was a hint of childishness in his smile, you already knowing this wouldn’t be the answer you wanted either. “Santa brought me”
“….Nigg-”
Before you could even call out bullshit, You were quickly shut up by the presence of your kids, the both of them gasping in awe at what they just overheard being revealed to you.
“You know what…fine” You throw your hands up in defeat and chop it up to what he said, Christmas magic.
✮✮✮✮
As the children settled down and played with their toys, you became stuck to your husbands side like you were glued there, your arms wrapped around him. You admired him while he admired the kids, your tummy fluttering with butterflies similar to when you two first met.
“I really hope you know…” You started, bringing his attention to you.
“Hm?”
“That I love you and your determination to always come through for us, especially your kids, makes me love you even more”
He smiles brightly, his heart skipping beats. “I’m supposed to. Not that I don’t want to also, but I hate to see yall upset. Plus, I couldn’t miss their faces opening their new ballet shoes”
You smile back at him and stand on your tip toes for a kiss, savoring the warmth of his embrace.
“Oh, and I was gonna let them jump you if you were late. They told me not to tell you” You say after pulling from your fifth kiss that day.
“Wooow, straight out the gate? No warning?”
“Mhm! nothing but elbows as soon as you walked through that door”
Terry shook his head with a laugh, already plotting on catching the two off guard with a little roughhousing session.
“It be your own kids”
“Yup. May have told them to get a little lick in for me too”
You shrug, letting him go and walking off into the kitchen, knowing he’d follow like a stray.
“Damn, mama too? What’d I do to her?”
Wrapping his arms around you while still in motion, he mimics your footsteps all the way to the counter.
“Leave me with two hard heads for a week. I got something for you later though”
He smiles against your neck then playfully bites at you, your chin tucking in to protect yourself.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time, Mrs.Richmond”
✮✮✮✮

A Christmas Wish Come True
written for @steddieholidaydrabbles day 25
prompt: Christmas | rated: G | wc: 1.000 | tags: Eddie & Wayne Munson, single dad Steve, found family, strangers to lovers
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | AO3 (+ bonus epilogue)
“So, wanna tell me about your little side gig as grandpa, Wayne?”
It was meant as a joke but his voice sounds angrier than he intended and it makes Eddie instantly feel bad.
“I’m sorry. It’s just- why haven’t you told me?”
“Look, that kid, Robbie, she only has her dad. And Steve is doing his best raising her all alone but- you know how me met? I’d just gotten off work, drove by his house and saw him sitting there on the front porch, looking like he was two seconds away from a mental breakdown. That man was a mess and he needed someone to take him by the hand. So, I reached out mine and he took it.”
He scrubs a hand over his chin, a habit he always has when he’s deep in thoughts.
“I wanted to tell ya, I just didn’t find the right moment. And I was a little worried you’d have a problem with it. I know you had a thing for that boy back in high school and I didn’t know if you guys had ever been... close, so-“
“No, no! Back up, Wayne. What?”
Eddie’s mouth falls open in shock. It’s not like he ever had to hide the fact that he likes guys – Wayne always knew, always accepted Eddie for all he is. But never, not once, did he mention his stupid infatuation with Steve. There’s no fucking way his uncle knew.
“Oh, don’t act so surprised. Every single piece of paper lying around your mess of a room had a little heart with Steve’s name on it.”
Oh, right.
“Okay, I give you that but why would you think we’ve been like, together? Even you must see how ridiculous that is. Have you looked at the man?”
Eddie bites his tongue before he says something like ‘He’s way too perfect to be with someone like me’. Wayne doesn’t need to know that he’s still got heart eyes for Steve and he already said too much.
“Yeah, I saw. I also heard how he talked about you. How he got all soft when he talked about all the mischief you were up to in high school. That cost me all my hair by the way, so thanks for that.”
Wayne laughs and Eddie would too, if he wasn’t so confused right now.
“Whether you knew it or not, that boy liked you. And seeing you two today, I’m pretty sure you still have that in common. You are both so bad at hiding it.”
Their conversation did not mess Eddie up. It didn't, okay? And he's definitely not nervous when he opens the door for Steve and Robbie to come in, right on time for Christmas dinner.
It doesn't make him feel like he's vibrating out of his skin when Steve takes the seat next to him, so close their knees occasionally touch.
And it doesn't cause a full-body shiver when their hands accidentally brush while reaching for the same bread.
It's fine. Everything is fine. Wayne doesn't know what he's talking about. There's nothing between them. No sparks, no fire, no longing glances. They’re just two small families celebrating Christmas together. Nothing more.
That's why, when Eddie excuses himself to have a smoke outside after dinner, and Steve follows him, he doesn't think much of it.
But of course, reality always comes crashing in. And when Steve huddles closer, stands right next to him, sharing his cigarette like that’s normal, Eddie can’t take it anymore.
“Wanna hear something funny?” he asks, trying hard to control the tremble in his voice.
“Wayne thought you and I were, you know, a thing in high school. That’s why he didn’t tell me about meeting you.”
Eddie laughs but it sounds fake, and for a long moment, all Steve does is look at him, eyes piercing like they’re trying to see into Eddie’s soul.
“Mhm, very funny,” he then says but doesn't sound amused at all.
“No, it really is, because I had the biggest crush on you back then."
Eddie swallows, looks, waits. Doesn't know what for because it feels like anything could happen.
"Had?" It almost sounds like a tease but Eddie can sense that Steve's nervous.
"Would it be bad if it was still true?" Eddie asks, unsure of where this is going.
"Depends.” Steve answers, a tentative smile on his lips, “Would it be bad if I wanted to kiss you right now?"
Eddie isn't sure if he's still breathing and if his heart's still beating because the world is spinning too fast and-
His lips are on Steve's, testing, pressing, and there are hands in his hair, and the night becomes day, and everything feels right, feels good, feels like something finally clicks into place.
They kiss until their lungs hurt, kiss some more after a giggle fit. Kiss again until the door opens and Robbie is standing before them with wide eyes.
"Oh, sh-oot! Hey, baby! Sorry, Eddie and I were just-"
"Thank you, Santa!" Robbie yells against the sky and Eddie's heart explodes.
The worry on Steve's face makes way for confusion and Eddie feels bad for cheating because contrary to Steve, he's in on Robbie's secret.
"Grandpa Wayne said to tell you we're having hot chocolate and cookies for dessert."
"We'll be right there," Eddie answers for Steve, who still seems a little frozen in place.
Once the door closes behind her, Steve releases a shaky breath.
"That- did not go like I thought it would."
For a moment, Eddie worries Steve's going to take it back. That the shock broke him out of whatever spell he was under.
But Steve kisses him again, before taking his hand to lead them back inside, where Wayne greets them with a smug smile. Eddie can practically hear the 'I told you so' but that's okay.
He's happy Wayne was right.
Happy that a little girl's wish aligned so perfectly with his own.
A Christmas wish come true.

Big Secret
Spencer Reid x BAU Reader WORD COUNT: 2100+
Summary: You've tried to hard to keep your daughter a secret from Spencer after her father left, but what happens when this secret finally comes to light?
Content Warning: fear of abandonment, abandonment of pregnant woman, reader gets anxiety
A/N This was requested, and I'm not to sure how I did here. There'll probably be a bunch of mistakes because I'm really tired right now.
────── ꒰ঌ·✦·໒꒱ ──────
The first time Spencer asks if something's wrong, you almost laugh. Not because you find it funny in any sense of the world, but because there is something wrong, and you can't find it in yourself to tell him.
He's studying you with those piercing eyes, like he can read every thought you've ever had. His brow is furrowed in that way that makes him look younger than he is, and for a split second, you wonder if he really can hear your thoughts.
"You've been a little off lately," he says, the concerns in his voice too subtle for most people to notice, but you hear it. "Is... everything okay?"
You smile, forcing the curve of your lips to stay steady. "Everything's fine, Spence. Just a lot on my mind, you know?"
It's the truth. Sort of. Work is, as always, chaotic as hell. But there's something gnawing at you, something you can't make yourself say out loud.
Spencer doesn't push, but you know he's watching, waiting for you to say more on your own. That's the thing about him—he's patient, a quality you greatly admire. But when he wants something, he tends to get it.
You've had a few drinks together after work, spent quiet hours in coffee shops, talking about cases, about books, about life. You think you're starting to let yourself like him.
You think he might be starting to like you, too, even though the lines between friendship and... something more are still blurry, and you haven't yet figures out how to cross them without making a mess.
Then, of course, there is the little secret of your daughter—the very secret that keeps you up at night, wondering if you've already ruined whatever future could happen.
"Is everything really fine?" Spencer asks again, his voice a little softer now, like he's trying to coax the truth out of me without making it feel like an interrogation. It feels like one anyway.
You nod quickly, maybe a little too quickly. "Yeah. Really. Just... personal stuff."
He watches you for a beat longer, clearly not entirely convinced, but also not going to press for more. Spencer isn't like that. He respects boundaries. He respects you, in a way that makes your chest tighten every time he looks at you, like you're something he can lose if he doesn't handle you with enough care.
And maybe that's it. Maybe you're afraid of him seeing the part of you that isn't as easy to love, the part that you're still learning to love yourself.
Maybe that's why you've kept Isla a secret, but you've never mentioned her in passing conversations, or even when he asks about your life outside the job.
You want him to see you as someone who can go out for a drink after a case without having to worry about a three-year-old waiting for her mother to come home.
But that's not you. You've got Isla. You've got your little girl, and one day, Spencer's going to have to know, as terrifying as that thought is to you.
You're not ashamed of your daughter, you could never be ashamed of your little girl.
But the last man who found out about her—her own father—ran for the hills before she was even born. The thought of Spencer doing the same, of him walking away the second he finds out about Isla, has been eating away at you from the first time you went out together.
You tell yourself it's not about him being a bad guy, because he's not. Spencer's kind and thoughtful and he doesn't seem like the type of man to judge.
But it's not like you can help the fear, that he might not want a woman with a child, especially one as young as Isla. She's the center of your world, she will always come first, and you can't risk losing Spencer for the same reason you lost Isla's father.
"Are you sure?" Spencer's voice cuts through your thoughts, soft and insistent. He's still looking at you, like he's waiting for the truth to slip from your lips, like he knows it'll happen eventually. "You know you can talk to me about anything, right?"
You swallow hard, the lump in your throat making it a little difficult to breathe. His words, so simple, so caring, somehow makes the weight on your shoulders heavier.
What would it feel like to tell him?
To let him in, to share this huge part of yourself with someone who could very well walk out of your life when he finds out?
It's easier to just nod and pretend everything's fine. It's easier to lie, to keep him at arms length, than risk him seeing who you really are—a mother, sure, but also someone who's terrified of being left again.
But Spencer doesn't deserve that. You know he doesn't deserve that, to keep wondering what's going on inside your head when he's done nothing but be there for you, day after day.
"I..." You hesitate, your breath catching in your chest. "There's something I should tell you, but it's really... it's going to complicate things."
Spencer doesn't say anything right away. He just watches you, and for a brief moment, the distance between you feels impossible to manage. You take a step forward, closing that space as best you can.
"You don't have to tell me if you're not ready to," he says finally, his voice so gentle that it almost breaks you. "You never have to feel obligated to tell me anything, I just want you to know I'm here if you wanna talk."
And right then, something shifts.
You're not entire sure what, but something deep inside wonders if maybe—just maybe—it might be time to tell him about the life you've tried to hard to keep hidden. About your precious little girl, and about her father who she's never known, and about the fears that keep you awake at night.
About the little girl who's waiting for you at home, her smile the only thing that keeps you going when everything else is so shaky.
"I have a daughter," you whisper, the words slipping out before you can stop them. "She's three. Her name's Isla."
He blinks, processing, before his expression softens. He doesn't say anything at first, just watches you with (gorgeous) eyes of his that feel almost like they can see right into your soul.
You hold your breath, waiting for his reaction. You're expecting him to step away from you, to give some polite excuse and walk out the door.
But instead, he surprises you. "I'd really like to meet her, if that's something you'd be okay with."
You blink at him, feeling your heart skip a beat. "You... you would? You want to meet Isla?"
Spencer smiles, just a little, but it's blindingly bright in your eyes. "Of course, I want to meet the little girl who obviously means so much to you."
────── ꒰ঌ·✦·໒꒱ ──────
You stand outside your apartment door, fingers nervously playing with the strap of your bag, suddenly feeling like you're about to do something you can't undo.
Which, you are, but that doesn't stop your heart from thumping uncomfortably, or your stomach from fluttering with anxiety.
Spencer's standing beside you, his eyes scanning the hallway, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. He looks calm, maybe even a little curious, but you can tell he's waiting for you to make the first move, to invite him inside where everything will change.
It helps knowing that, if you happen to change your mind, he'll leave the second you ask him to.
The familiar hum of the building's old pipes is the only sound between you. You're about to let Spencer see Isla. You're about to let him into this part of your life you've kept so carefully hidden. And it is terrifying.
It's one thing to share a drink or talk about drinks. It's an entirely different thing to show another person the most vulnerable part of yourself.
The next door over swings open, and your neighbor, Maria, steps out. She looks up from her phone when she spots you, waving with the hand that's holding Isla's favorite stuffed bunny—she probably left it there at some point.
"Hey, just finished feeding her a few minutes ago," Maria says with a smile, but there's a hint of urgency in her voice as she checks her watch. "I was just 'boutta call you, gotta head out. You good here?"
You nod, forcing a smile as you take Isla's stuffed animal from Maria. "Yeah, thanks. She's been good today?"
"She's always good, she's a sweetheart," Maria says before turning on her heel, heading towards the stairs with quick steps. She glances back at you once to make sure you're alright before she's gone.
You watch her go, your breath catching in your throat as you unlock the door.
Every part of you is screaming that this isn't a good idea, that you're making a huge mistake by letting Spencer in, but you push those thoughts away as best you can, forcing yourself to step inside and gently pulling him by the sleeve of his jacket.
"Come on in," you say, trying to sound casual, but the words sound all wrong in your own ears, and they surely sound the same to Spencer.
Spencer hesitates for a moment before stepping through the doorway. The second his foot crosses the threshold, something in the air shifts, though neither of you can name what it is.
Isla's small shoes are lined up neatly by the door beside yours, and you can hear her humming softly from the living room. It's the sound of home.
Some of the anxiety fades away. It's more strange than anything to have Spencer here, where it's all real and in front of him.
You move towards the living room, trying to steady your breath. There, sitting on the floor with a coloring book spread out in front of her and a variety of markers and pencils at her side, is Isla.
Her hair's a bit messy, the way it always gets after a nap, but her wide eyes light up the moment she notices you.
"Mommy!" Isla calls, her little face breathing into a grin as she scrambles to her feet. She's barely two and a half feet tall, one of her little hands clutching her stuffed bunny tightly, the other wrapped around your legs.
You plop down on the sofa and ruffle her hair affectionately, a soft smile gracing your lips.
And then, she sees Spencer.
For a moment, Isla just stares at him, wide-eyed and quiet. Spencer's already crouched down, his hands resting gently on his knees, not moving, simply waiting for her to decide if she'll approach him or not.
You hold your breath, watching the moment unfold in real time—you've never had to share this part of your life with anyone. You've never had to share her with another person. And for a brief moment, you're more worried about how she'll react.
And then, like she's made up her mind, Isla takes a few tentative steps toward Spencer. She looks up at him, her face a picture of innocent curiosity, and before either of you can say anything, she reaches out, quickly offering him her stuffed bunny.
Oh, thank God.
Spencer looks at the bunny, then back at her, his expression softening. "Thank you," he says, his voice gentle, as it's as if a part of you clicks into place. Like he's not only accepted you, but now, he's accepting Isla, too.
He's accepting your baby, and you feel like you're going to cry.
She smiles up at him, and for a second, it feels like everything's going to be okay. He doesn't look at her like she's an obstacle, or like he doesn't know what to do.
He looks at her the way he always looks at you—with patience, and something else that you have a hard time naming.
Isla giggles, her small hand still holding the bunny, as then she shyly crawls into your lap, hiding her face against your chest.
Spencer chuckles, the sound low and warm, as he sits down beside you, observing the interaction. You rub your hand up and down Isla's back and press a firm kiss to the top of her head.
After another quiet moment, Isla crawls off you again, sitting back on the floor in front of her coloring book.
"So, uh, do you like coloring?" Spencer asks, his voice carefully light, as he looks over at Isla, who's now holding a crayon like it's the most important thing in the world.
She nods solemnly, but then grins up at him. "I like pink," she says, matter-of-factly, and then she goes back to her drawing.
Spencer's eyes twinkle with amusement. "Pink's a great color," he agrees, and you can't help but smile.
Maybe this isn't so bad after all.

player 066
synopsis: Haechan came to earn money from some strange games and didn't expect to see you, his ex.
paring: player!haechan x player!reader
warnings: blood, fights, literally the same thing that happens in the squid game happens here
wc: 5259
Who haven’t seen season 2 don’t read it!
Haechan didn’t expect this. He didn’t expect some childish games to involve death for losing. After the first game, he was horrified and wanted nothing more than to go home, back to his friends and family. He was certain that during the vote, everyone would choose X—but how wrong he was.
Haechan glanced up at the scoreboard, silently praying that the remaining players would come to their senses and choose to leave this wretched place. He wanted to scream.
“Player 012.”
Haechan turned toward the crowd, and his breath caught.
“Y/N?..”
The boy froze in shock, unable to believe his eyes as he watched you stand there, hesitating over which button to press.
Haechan’s mind raced. Why is this so hard for you to decide? Weren’t you terrified after everything you’ve seen? And why the fuck are you here?
*Ding.*
The blue light flashed, and Team O erupted in cheers, celebrating loudly.
You had chosen O.
—
After the vote, they started handing out food. By the way, four people voted after you, and two of them chose O, which meant you weren’t allowed to leave and should to play next game. Haechan was upset and still couldn’t understand what you were doing here. He wanted to find you, but he lost you in the sea of green uniforms.
Grabbing his food, Haechan began walking toward one of the bunks. Then he stopped. You were sitting on one of the beds, quietly eating.
God, you were beautiful. You had always been beautiful, but Haechan hadn’t seen you in five months, and in that moment, he thought you’d become even more radiant.
Without hesitation, he quickly walked over to you.
You were eating peacefully when you suddenly felt someone standing in front of you. Slowly, you lifted your head, ready to say something to the stranger with number 066, but then you saw him.
Lee Haechan.
The same guy you had broken up with and still couldn’t come to terms with. For half a year, you had tried to forget him, but nothing worked. You thought of him every night in your dreams, before falling asleep, and even in the mornings. Constantly. And now, here he was, standing in this strange place, wearing a strange green uniform, right in front of you.
“Y/N,” he said softly.
“Haechan,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
“What are you doing here?”
You flinched at the question. What were you doing here? You didn’t even know yourself. You had wanted to escape somewhere far away from everything, and this seemed like a perfect solution—earning some money along the way didn’t hurt either.
“I came to win money, just like you. Is that not allowed?” you said, your tone cold.
Haechan’s expression softened, his heart sinking at your distant words. Still, he sat down next to you while you shot him a wary look.
“Do you need money?” he asked gently.
"I need to pay for my studies."
"You could have asked me."
"You?" You laugh. "You’re here because you don’t have money yourself, and you’re telling me I should’ve asked you? Besides, don’t you think it’s strange to ask for money from your ex—someone you haven’t talked to or seen in six months?"
Haechan falls silent. Technically, you were right. But he wasn’t completely broke—he could’ve helped you if you had asked. He was here to earn more money for his dreams, so he wouldn’t have to take out extra loans. And you were also right about the part with the ex, but Haechan didn’t want to dwell on that. It hurt too much.
"Why did you vote to keep playing? Did that old man convince you?"
You smirk and poke at the rice with your spoon.
"I didn’t want to go home, and the prize money was too small."
"20 million won is too small?!" Haechan stares at you in disbelief. "Aren’t you afraid you might die?"
"I’m not," you reply, avoiding his gaze, while he keeps looking at you intently.
"From now on, I’ll stay with you."
"What?" You lift your head in surprise, finally looking him in the eye.
"From this moment on..." Haechan’s eyes lock with yours. "...I’ll be with you," he says, a soft smile spreading across his face.
"I ran away from everyone to end up with you following me around? No, Haechan, I don’t need this." You start to get up, setting your meal aside, but Haechan grabs your wrist and stands with you.
"Let go."
"I’m not letting you go in a place like this. It’s too dangerous."
"I’m not a child, Haechan."
"I don’t care. You can do whatever you want, but I won’t even consider leaving you alone here."
You stare at each other for a long moment, his grip firm yet not forceful. Deep down, you know he won’t back down—not even with a gun to his head. Haechan had always been this stubborn.
Of course, you were just as stubborn, but the truth was, you were glad he was here with you, even if you refused to admit it.
—
After lights out, you were escorted to the next game. You tried to avoid Haechan, but it didn’t work very well. At that moment, as you climbed the stairs, he was right behind you. You hadn’t even noticed when he managed to fall into step behind you.
"Don’t try to run away from me, sweetheart," he leaned in and whispered in your ear.
You ignored him and kept walking.
"I heard that in the next game, you’ll have to carve shapes out of a cookie, so pick the triangle," he added casually.
You stopped and turned to face him.
"Where did you hear that?"
Haechan simply shrugged and gently turned you back around, nudging you to keep moving forward.
It didn’t feel like a game about cookies.
Somehow, you managed to slip away from Haechan and stood at the far end of the room, nearly alone. Like everyone else, you were surveying the space when a female voice suddenly rang out:
"Divide into teams of five."
Damn. This definitely wasn’t about cookies. You looked around, seeing how everyone began forming teams, scrambling to find people.
You spotted a group of men and cautiously approached them.
"Excuse me. I’m on my own—can I join your team?"
The four men gave you a once-over before exchanging looks.
"Listen, we need strong and smart people on our team..."
You didn’t need to hear more to understand their implication. They didn’t want women—they wanted men. Letting out a frustrated sigh, you turned and started searching again.
—
Haechan was losing his mind. He had searched the entire damn hall, and you were nowhere to be found. The thought of you being stuck with some random weaklings or sketchy players made his blood boil. You had to be with him—right now, no, right this second.
"Hey, want to team up with me?"
Haechan turned toward the voice and saw a guy around his age grinning at him.
"I noticed you’re walking around alone. I’m on my own too, so if you don’t mind, we could team up and look for more people together."
The guy’s wide smile seemed genuine, and Haechan figured it wasn’t the worst idea.
"Yeah, sure. But there’s going to be a girl with us. Is that okay with you?"
The guy waved his hand dismissively, his grin unwavering.
"Of course! That’s even better. I’m Hendery, by the way."
He extended his hand, and Haechan shook it firmly.
"Haechan."
"Nice to meet you! So, where’s the girl?"
Haechan’s jaw tightened as he scanned the room again, his frustration bubbling.
"That’s what I’m trying to figure out."
Hendery glanced at the timer and nodded.
"We still have time, so we’ll find her. What does she look like?"
Haechan opened his mouth to reply but suddenly froze. His eyes caught sight of you—standing just behind Hendery. But you weren’t alone. You were with some guy.
Without thinking, Haechan shot up and strode toward you, his sudden movements making Hendery follow in confusion.
"Y/N! Where the hell have you been?!"
You flinched as Haechan grabbed your arm unexpectedly, letting out an exasperated sigh when you realized it was him.
"God, could you be gentler?!"
"Gentler?!" Haechan’s voice dripped with frustration. "Where have you been? Why did you—" He cut himself off abruptly when his gaze locked onto the tall guy standing next to you.
The boy fidgeted under Haechan’s intense stare before mumbling awkwardly, "I’m Sungchan. Nice to meet you." He extended a hand hesitantly, and Haechan shook it reluctantly, his grip firmer than necessary.
"Oh! We only need one more person now, and we’re set!" Hendery exclaimed enthusiastically, his bright demeanor completely at odds with the tense atmosphere.
Haechan, however, wasn’t sharing in the excitement. His sharp eyes darted between you and Sungchan, while you glared back at him with irritation. Sungchan seemed ready to disappear under the pressure of Haechan’s silent judgment.
"I’m with you," a deep voice suddenly cut through the awkwardness.
All four of you turned to see an incredibly tall man with long hair stepping toward the group. His commanding presence left everyone speechless for a moment.
Hendery, however, didn’t miss a beat. "Perfect!" he cheered, practically beaming at the addition.
But Haechan’s attention was still fixed on you and Sungchan, his frustration simmering just beneath the surface. This wasn’t how he imagined things would go.
—
Once the announcement was made to assign one person to each of the five games, the team gathered, exchanging uncertain glances.
"I’ll take Jegi. That’s literally the only game I can play," you declared, breaking the silence. The guys turned to look at you, and the tall man with the long hair chuckled, tilting his head.
"Alright, but who’s the strongest here? We’ll need someone for Ddakji."
The group fell silent until Sungchan nervously raised his hand.
"I… I think I can handle it."
Haechan was about to say something when you cut him off, pointing directly at him.
"Haechan will play Gong-gi!"
"What?!" he exclaimed, wide-eyed.
"You’re practically a pro at it! Come on, don’t pretend you’re not." You nudged his shoulder, and he glanced around nervously.
"Really? We need someone skilled for that game," Hendery chimed in with his ever-optimistic grin.
Haechan sighed in defeat, muttering, "Fine, I’ll do it."
"I’ll take Flying Stone," the long-haired man said calmly, crossing his arms.
"Guess that leaves me with Spinning Top," Hendery shrugged, still grinning as if this was all a casual game night.
—
*Bang.*
The sound of a gunshot echoed through the room, followed by the horrifying thud of bodies hitting the floor.
You violently, your gaze glued to the bloodied corpses of the first two groups. They hadn’t made it. They hadn’t been fast enough.
Fear surged through you like ice. What if your team wasn’t fast enough? What if you couldn’t hit the shuttlecock five times in Jegi? What if—
"Y/N," Haechan’s soft voice broke through the storm in your mind.
His hands gently landed on your shoulders, steadying you.
"Hey," he whispered, carefully turning you away from the blood-soaked floor. "Don’t look at that. Look at me."
You hesitated but finally met his gaze. He smiled at you, warm and reassuring, his hands still resting on your shoulders as if to anchor you.
"Everything will be fine," he said, his voice soft but firm.
You stood there, frozen, staring at him. Slowly, his calm confidence seeped into you, easing the rigid tension in your body. For a moment, all you could focus on was the safety in his eyes.
—
“Damn, we’re last. That’s sad,” Hendery joked, his tone light despite the tension.
Your team stood still as the staff locked the metal restraints around your ankles, the heavy weight of the game’s stakes settling in. And you were here alone. Only with another team.
The game began.
Sungchan wasted no time. Grabbing the Ddakji square, he struck with precision, flipping the paper on his first try.
"YES!" you all shouted in unison, voices echoing in the room as you sprinted to the next game.
"One, two! One, two!"
The second game flew by in a blur. The tall man threw the stone with ease, landing it perfectly before swiftly striking it back to the start. Another victory. You jumped up and down, cheering wildly as the group moved cautiously to the next station.
The third game was Gong-gi. The group waited as the guard placed the table and handed out the small stones.
Haechan’s hands were trembling. No one seemed to notice, riding the adrenaline high of their earlier wins, but his heart was racing. He sat down, staring at the stones as he picked up the first one.
Focus. Just focus.
He dropped it.
“Damn it,” he muttered under his breath, gathering the stones again.
"Haechan, it’s fine! Don’t rush, we still have time," Hendery said from the side, his encouraging words meant to ease the tension.
But it didn’t help. Haechan’s hands shook even more, and the stones slipped again.
“Come on,” he whispered, frustration bubbling in his chest. He started over, but his nerves betrayed him, the stones scattering across the table once more.
Haechan glanced at the timer, panic surging as he realized how much time he’d wasted. He hadn’t even cleared the round.
“Crap, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I—”
"Donghyuck."
Your voice cut through his spiraling thoughts. He felt your hand gently rest on his shoulder, and he turned to look at you.
His face was drenched in sweat, his expression on the verge of breaking completely.
You didn’t say anything at first. Instead, you reached out and placed your palm softly against his cheek, stroking it with a calmness that seemed out of place in the chaos around you.
“You’ve got this,” you said softly, your voice steady and warm.
Haechan blinked at you, the fear in his eyes slowly giving way to something else—something calmer, more grounded. For the first time since the game started, his hands steadied.
“You’re okay, Hyuck. You’ll get through this. You’ve always done it for me, right?”
Something tugged at his chest when he heard the nickname only you used for him. Feeling the warmth of your hand on his cheek, Haechan steadied his breath.
He started again, his movements faster and more precise this time. One by one, he flipped the stones with skill, catching them all in the end. He slowly raised his fist to show the guard, who silently gave an “O” gesture.
“Success.”
Cheers erupted as you all celebrated, moving on to the next game.
"One, two! One, two!"
—
The last two games were grueling, but somehow, you all managed to finish with just five seconds left on the timer. It was a narrow escape, but an escape nonetheless.
Now, back in the main hall, the atmosphere was somber. No one spoke as the weight of what you’d just been through settled over the group.
Haechan had quietly moved away from the rest of you, sitting by himself in the corner. His head was low, his shoulders slumped.
“Haechan, why are you sitting there?” Hendery asked, his concern evident as he got up and walked over.
The rest of you followed, though you sat a bit farther from him than the others.
“I’m sorry…” Haechan mumbled into his hands, his face buried in his knees. “Because of me… you all almost died… I shouldn’t have—”
Hendery wrapped an arm around his shoulders, pulling him into a reassuring hug.
“Hey, come on now,” Sungchan chimed in, patting Haechan’s back. “You didn’t do anything wrong. After everything we’ve seen today, who wouldn’t be shaken up? No one could focus in a place like this.”
“This place is insane,” Sungchan added, his voice filled with frustration.
You glanced at him, noticing a cross on his chest. A quick look at the others revealed the same symbol on Hendery and the tall man.
But when your eyes dropped to your own chest, you realized you were the only one with the O.
“It's because of me that we’re still here...”
Everyone’s attention shifts to you as your words hang in the air.
“I voted to continue the game…” You glance down at your hoodie.
“Come on, guys, stop!” The tall, handsome guy says, trying to comfort you. “We all make mistakes. The important thing is that we’re still alive. Besides, you weren’t the only one who voted to continue. So you’re not to blame.”
Haechan, who had raised his head when you began speaking, watches you silently while you focus on your sneakers.
“By the way, my name is Johnny. I’m from Chicago.”
“Chicago? I was there once when I was a kid. Im Hendery!” Hendery says, introducing himself.
“I’m Sungchan!”
“Lee Haechan…” Haechan mutters quietly, and everyone turns their attention to you, waiting for your response.
Noticing the silence, you lift your head and hesitate for a moment. “I... Y/N...”
“Nice to meet everyone!” Johnny says with a cheerful grin.
—
The second voting began. This time, you were certain that you were going to leave. After such a brutal game, you were sure that everyone else would want to leave too. There was no other option. Could they really be this stupid?
*Ding.*
The blue team jumps in joy.
24 – 28.
What the hell?
Soon, the score is tied, and the red team starts to win. You breathe a sigh of relief.
“Guys, why are you so boring? Let's all vote for the circle, okay?”
“God, this freak again,” you mutter to yourself after the guy with purple hair votes.
“Yeah, he's definitely strange,” Haechan agrees with you.
Fuck.
The last person went to vote, and the blue team won. They celebrated loudly while you, the red team, sat quietly, frustrated and angry.
"Let's see how they’ll celebrate when they all die," you turn at the harsh, blunt voice of Hendery.
"What?" He glance at you. "I just want to go home, and because of these stupid assholes, I’m back on the edge of death again.” Hendery kicks the floor and heads to the bed.
You all exchange glances, taken aback by this unexpected side of him.
“He can be like this?”
—
After the food was handed out, you left it with Songchan and went to the bathroom. You couldn’t stay there, you had no appetite. How could you think about food after everything you had seen? You walked to the sink, turned on cold water, and washed your face. The bathroom was empty, and you finally felt some peace. But suddenly the door opened, and Haechan stepped in.
"Why are you in the women’s bathroom?" you asked, surprised. Haechan smiled and replied:
"Women’s? This is the men’s bathroom, Y/N." You stepped out and saw that the door did indeed say "men’s bathroom." Haechan grinned and said:
"Didn’t you notice anything strange?" He walked to the sink and started washing his face.
"I didn’t pay attention to anything except the sink..." you ignored the fact that you were still in the men’s bathroom, since no one else was there except Haechan. What difference did it make?
"Are you okay?" Haechan asked as he wiped his face with his shirt. You slowly turned to him.
"I... yeah... ah, fuck, of course I’m not okay! How could I be okay when I’ve seen so many people get killed right in front of me? When my clothes are soaked in their blood? When I was almost killed myself? Who could be okay after all that? Only crazy people, Haechan!" Haechan stood in shock at your loud outburst. You both stood there, looking at each other, until you spoke again:
"Sorry... I just want to go home and live a normal life." You leaned over the sink again, splashing your face with water and wiping it. Haechan stayed silent, then approached you and gently lifted your face.
"Y/N, I understand, don’t apologize. I’m going crazy here too, from this place and these people. You saw how I almost got us killed? I lost my mind completely."
"Don’t say that, you didn’t do anything," you interrupted him.
"You didn’t do anything either, so don’t blame yourself for the first vote. Just calm down. I said I’d always be here for you, and I kept my word, didn’t I?"
You looked at his face for a long moment and quietly said:
"You haven’t been here for me the last five months."
Haechan smiled softly and stroked your face.
"It’s not about that now, Y/N. Let’s not talk about it."
"Why? Because you stopped loving me and left? Now you're pretending like nothing happened?"
"Y/N, it's not like that, and you know it. I never stopped loving you."
"Sunghoon said you didn’t care about me, that you didn’t care about our relationship. He said you found someone else…"
"Do you believe that jerk?"
You flinch at his sharp, cold tone.
"I..."
"You're still listening to him? I told you he's ruining your life. Didn't he make you fight with Karina? Why are you still falling for it?"
"I'm not falling for it..."
"Then shut up and stop talking about him. Everything he tells you is a lie, especially about me and our relationship. I’ve always loved you, Y/N. You know why we broke up, and it wasn’t our fault. It just happened."
You feel hot tears on your cheeks and start to sob. Haechan wipes your tears away and leans in to kiss them.
"Please, don’t cry. We... we’ll fix all of this when we get out of this game..."
You stay quiet, just looking at each other.
"Promise?"
"I promise." Haechan smiles, then slowly leans in to kiss you on the lips. Without thinking, you kiss him back. At first, it’s slow and calm. You place your hands on his neck, pulling him closer, and he moves his hands to your waist, doing the same. He presses you against the sink, and the kiss deepens and quickens. Haechan moves his hands from your waist to your hips. You’re running out of breath and pull away.
"Not here, Haechan…"
Haechan looks at you with dark eyes and slowly nods. He leans back in and kisses you again, but this time more gently.
"Oh my god, guys! You scared me! So this is where you disappeared to!" The door suddenly swings open, and Hendery walks in. You quickly pull away from Haechan and fix yourself, but Haechan seems unfazed that you were caught and quietly laughs at your reaction.
—
Third Game: Mingle!
Huh?
You were standing in a huge hall with carousel horses placed in the center. The host explained the rules while the five of you listened intently. After last night, Haechan stayed even closer to you, almost lying down next to you to protect you. Though you couldn’t help but wonder, protect from who?
The game began.
They spun you around so you nearly fell, but Haechan caught you in time. As you stood there together, a familiar voice echoed:
"Five!"
"We’re five!" Sungchan shouted, and you all ran to the door in a panic.
Everyone was scrambling, rushing to find their groups. You could’ve been left behind, frozen in shock, but Haechan held your hand tightly and pulled you toward the red door with the others.
5… 4…
The five of you quickly squeezed in and shut the door.
3… 2… 1…
Silence.
Standing beside Johnny, you peeked through the peephole to see the remaining players who hadn’t found their groups. Suddenly, you flinched as gunfire erupted. They were being executed one by one. You should’ve been used to this by now, but every time it left you frozen, unable to believe your eyes.
Haechan grabbed your wrist and pulled you close.
"I told you not to look. Look at me, only at me. Stay by my side, okay?"
You nodded quickly.
When the door opened, the smell of blood hit you like a wave. Red puddles spread across the floor.
"If people still want to play after this game, I’ll just shoot myself right here," Hendery muttered, walking toward the carousel.
Song began again.
“And have fun jumping around. Round and round.”
“3!”
The lights flickered, and the room descended into chaos. People were running again, panicked and screaming.
"Sungchan and I will find another group. You three stick together!" Johnny yelled.
You stood frozen, watching your friends, terrified to let them go. But the two guys grabbed your hands and pulled you toward the yellow door.
You barely managed to squeeze through before the timer ended and the door slammed shut.
You rushed to the door, frantically looking for Sungchan and Johnny, but they were nowhere to be seen. You could only hope they were safe.
When you exited, two tall guys immediately approached you.
"You’re alive!" Hendery exclaimed, hugging them.
“And have fun jumping around. Round and round.”
“4!”
The five of you looked around again when Haechan suddenly shouted:
«Go as a group of four! I’ll find someone on my own»You stared at him in shock, grabbing his hand.
«Are you crazy? I’m going with you!»
Haechan gently removed your hands and smiled.
«Y/N, please go. There’s no time.»
You shook your head, refusing, but Sungchan pulled you away by the arm. You tried to break free, yelling:
“Haechan, no! You idiot, don’t leave me! You promised to stay with me!”
But Haechan disappeared into the crowd. Sungchan managed to push you into a small room just as the door closed.
“No! Open it! Open the damn door!” you banged on the door, desperately peering through the peephole to find Haechan.
In the darkness, everyone looked alike, and with horror, you noticed someone who resembled Haechan. Right in front of you, they were shot. You stumbled backward, tears streaming down your face, and turned sharply to the others.
“What if it was him?! This is all your fault!”
“Y/N, calm down. He’s a smart guy; he must have found a group” Sungchan tried to reassure you.
“I just saw someone get killed! What if it was him?!”you cried hysterically, your vision blurring. You sank to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably, until Hendery approached and carefully tried to comfort you.
“He’s alive, Y/N. It’s going to be okay,” he said gently.
You were on edge, unable to think clearly. The games had pushed you to the brink, and the fear of losing Haechan consumed you. The pain of him leaving you again mixed with the terror of the moment.
When the door opened, Hendery helped you stand. You rushed out, scanning every door, but there was no sign of the one you were looking for.
“Guys!” a familiar voice called from behind.
You turned sharply and saw Haechan. He stood there with an elderly woman and two men.
“I found these wonderful people, and they saved me...” he began.
Before he could finish, you ran to him, throwing your arms around him so tightly it felt like you feared losing him again.
«Hey, Y/N, I’m here. Everything’s okay.»
«Don’t you dare leave me again,» your voice trembled with emotion.
You lifted your head, pouting slightly, and Haechan smiled softly at your adorable expression, brushing his hand over your hair.
“I promise, I won’t leave you.”
“This is the final round!”
“Thank god” Hendery said.
“And have fun jumping around. Round and round.”
“2!”
Haechan immediately grabbed your hand, pulling you close, and glanced at the others.
“Split up. Only one person is needed here, i can do it” Hendery said and smilled to you.
You and Haechan sprinted toward the door. He opened it and was about to step inside when you suddenly broke free from his grip. Someone shoved you roughly, pushing you aside.
A man dashed past you, slipping into the room with Haechan and slamming the door shut.
You froze, staring in horror at the closed door.
Haechan turned, realizing your hand was no longer in his. When he saw a stranger instead of you, his expression darkened with fury.
“Get out!” he shouted, shoving the man.
“There’s no time!” the man argued, resisting him.
Haechan said nothing. He punched the man in the jaw, then shoved him toward the door, but it wouldn’t budge.
The timer hit zero, and the doors locked.
Haechan stood motionless, staring at the door in disbelief. Then he heard gunshots.
No. No way.
"This is all because of you, asshole."
Haechan furiously lunges at the guy, punching him in the face.
"I’m sorry! I just wanted to survive! I accidentally went into your door!" the guy pleads.
"You pushed her! She was with me!" Haechan yells, continuing to hit him. But he suddenly freezes when he hears the guy’s next words:
"I didn’t push anyone, I swear! I was just running, trying to find someone, and I saw you were alone! Please, stop, don’t hit me!"
The guy covers his face with his hands as Haechan, still holding him by the collar, breathes heavily, staring him down. After a few seconds, the door opens.
Haechan immediately rushes into the hall, frantically scanning it for you. But you’re nowhere to be seen.
"Please, no…" he whispers, panic overtaking him.
A minute earlier.
You stare at the door in terror, watching another guy enter and shut it behind him.
You’re going to die.
You don’t even try to get up in the chaos around you. You’ve accepted it—this is the end. Is this really how it’s going to end? You didn’t even get to do anything with your life.
Your thoughts are interrupted by a hand grabbing yours and pulling you up. You stand and see Hendery in front of you.
"Hendery?"
"Quick, run! There’s only one door left!"
You spot the open green door, and the two of you dash toward it together.
There’s barely any time left, and you’re running as fast as you can.
4… 3…
No. You didn’t want to die. You couldn’t die now.
2…
Hendery pushes you through the door and quickly shuts it behind you.
1…
Click.
"Damn. We made it… I really thought I was going to die back there."
You sit on the floor, wide-eyed, staring at him. Hendery turns to you, his gaze softening.
"God, I’m so sorry. I pushed you too hard. I was panicking—we were so close to running out of time."
He rushes over to you, helping you up and checking for any injuries.
"I’m fine! Really, I’m okay. Thank you for saving me."
"You’re the one who saved me. If I hadn’t seen you, I would’ve died. But, wait… where’s Haechan?"
"Someone pushed me, and he got shoved into a room… That’s how we ended up separated."
"Man, people here are seriously insane."
You laugh and nod in agreement.
As Haechan gets closer to the carousel, he spots you standing next to Hendery. The moment you see him, you both run toward each other.
"Haechan, we made it! Hendery and I are safe!"
"If it wasn’t for her, I’d be dead! Some girl ditched me, and I was in complete panic!" Hendery adds.
But Haechan doesn’t hear a word. He simply pulls you into a tight embrace, breathing shakily. Then he starts inspecting your face and body, searching for any injuries.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Did you fall? Did he push you too hard?!"
"I’m fine, Haechan. I’m okay."
With a sigh of relief, he hugs you again.
"Don’t ever leave me like that again."
“I won’t i promise.”

My last argument before Yingdu drops : Shiguang will get a Happy Ending Beginning at the end of Link Click
translation : Waiting for you to come and want me!
Come and marry me!
The song that plays at the end, it contextually and thematically intertwines the narratives of the older couple and Shiguang together. It talks about perseverance, memory, time, waiting, love (quintessential themes of Shakespearean sonnet!) and a promise to be together till the end.
The song is called Shíguāng Jiāohuì Wǒ De or "What Time Has Taught Me"
This time, I'll quietly watch you leave Don't look back Just let the tears drown me ceaselessly After so long, I still don't understand What I should've done in that moment Would everything change because of that? That naive me of yesterday Left behind too many inconclusive answers All the people I hold dear, thank you for having appeared in my life Smile and have faith The you still innocent in my heart With unwavering conviction, go forth and chase The moment when your heart's desire nears I've gotten used to it, flipping through All that time has slowly walked through Every single brand new day Please shine brightly and wait for me I watch as it all scatters in the wind I turn back once more Stubborn and unyielding, I stride forwards Oh, it's as if the shadow of time is pulling me by the hand Outfitting myself with you and my courage Even if we, insignificant as we are, cannot correct those mistakes As long as we dream in earnest, we can still love each other deeply Smile and have faith The you still innocent in my heart With unwavering conviction, go forth and chase The moment when your heart's desire nears I've gotten used to it, flipping through All that time has slowly walked through Every single brand new day Please shine brightly and wait for me The people that have left, the people before your eyes The ones that laughed and cried with you Go forth with courage and embrace Every single hypothetical of growing up The reversing, the receding Between parallel and intersecting lines, find a release What's been frozen in frame, what is cherished They're what time has taught me Every memory — the wonderful ones, the ones I've bid farewell to They're what time has taught me
Now let's look at the lyrics of 'The Eye' (even though, the visual significance is also very important, it complements the lyrics)
I wish that I could tell you the truth I've seen it a million times I stopped painting excuses red Even if I'm trapped in a rewind Rewinding right in front of the eye I ran towards the end of the line I heard your voice but missed you in time I followed every end of the signs But the clock tower bell only struck nine When the sun sets on this side of my mind And I thought it was snowing Only when the ashes fell on the film in my hands Did I know There will be a fire when it all unfolds We should bury the treasure along with all we know But I couldn't save you I couldn't make it to you Trapped in endings I don't want you to know So long to a bursting wave of blinding lights But we fought the tides, we fought the tides Till the river dried We splash velvet dye in the sky Standing still in front of the eye I still remember the way you danced under heavy rain Hold out your hands and embraced When clouds never seemed to fade away away away away Rolling thunders in disguise No matter how hard we looked in the lost and found We never could shine the moonlight underground To the point where we got sick of pretending like we are saviors Till we learn to carry on There will be a fire when it all unfolds We should bury the treasure along with all we know But I couldn't save you I couldn't make it to you Trapped in endings I don't want you to know So long to a bursting wave of blinding lights But we fought the tides, we fought the tides Till the river dried We splash velvet dye in the sky Standing still in front of the eye So the clock tower bell only struck nine And we followed every end of the signs If I heard your voice and caught you in time Are you with me to the end of the line? Are you with me to the end of the line Are you with me to the end of the line Are you with me to the end of the line Are you with me?
The narrative of this song is still waiting for the response, it's not over yet. Yingdu will increase the tension and I will love (crying) it.
I have already argued so much on this, this is the most prominent (and my favourite) parallel example I wanted to remind myself and others again. Joi, Shiguang!

From Our First Case to Our Last | Bruce Wayne/Batman x Reader!Magician
Synopsis: In this finale for the first main story of Bruce Wayne and Vivian Pryor, the couple celebrates their fortieth wedding anniversary with their family in the Manor.
Vivian woke up feeling her husband's arms wrapped around her. Turning to him, she saw his wrinkled, yet still handsome, face in peace as he slept. It's a rare sight for her to see him sleep like this for the past few years. Retirement from being Batman was not easy, and she has been understanding towards him for it; then Terry McGinnis came into their lives, and after a long talk with her, she finally agreed to Bruce’s plan to train the young man who was full of potential.
That wasn't all too. Valerie, theri daughter, was also training with them – improving her detective skills and being Terry's “Penny-One”, while also kicking Terry McGinnis’ ass on the training mat. Valerie was enjoying the latter more.
Batman has and will always be Bruce’s purpose in life. No matter what they say, even with Terry now doing a good job as the new Batman, Bruce Wayne will always be Batman.
And it was hard for him to pass on the identity he has always been to another. But Gotham needs Batman, and while he ages, the symbol of the cowl will live forever and expectations need to be met.
“You've been staring,” Bruce murmured.
Vivian laughed lightly and turned in bed to face him, so she could place a kiss on his cheek. “Happy anniversary, my love.”
Bruce smiled. “Happy happy anniversary, my love… forty years.”
She agreed. “Forty, long, years filled with adventure, petty fights, happiness, and even until now I love you since the day Batman came to accuse me for planned murder –”
Bruce hummed in annoyance with her teasing.
“--and the time Bruce Wayne visited me in my hospital bed then took me to our first date.”
He smiled this time, “it was then I realized – even when our date hasn't even ended yet – I wanted to see you again. To talk to you and see you smile, and be the reason to keep that smile on your face.” He leaned in again and placed a chaste kiss on her lips. “You're so beautiful,” he whispered. “Just like the day we met.”
“Now I know you're lying.”
“We may have aged but this,” he caressed her temple, “and this,” he placed a hand on her chest just above her heart. “This is the same. We've grown---changed---since then but these are still in the right place.”
Smiling, Vivian too placed her hand over his heart and asked, “Did I live up to my vow? Did I protect this good and kind heart, Bruce?”
Bruce nodded. “We had some rocky times but yes, you did. And what about me? Did I keep my vows?”
Vivian nodded as well. “Every word of it. I love you, Batman.”
“I love you too, Professor.”
The knock on the door had the couple sit up in bed and call out for the person to enter the room. The heavy knock on the wood meant it wasn't Val, so it could either be one of the boys who came to the Manor, as per their invitation, to celebrate their anniversary. It was Tim and Jason who knocked on the door, with him was Valerie who had two trays floating behind her with breakfast, tea, and her father's medicine.
“Detective,” Vivian reached out so Tim could greet her with a hug. “It’s good to see you not in Wayne Tower. How are things?”
“Hi Viv,” Tim chuckled. “Things are doing great — everything's great.”
When it was Jason's turn, he leaned down and kissed her cheek. “Hey, Ma. Happy anniversary to you both.”
“My boy,” Vivian smiled warmly and caressed his cheek. “I'm glad that you came all this way to be with us.”
“You know me, Ma. I can never say no to you… nor to this little bug,” he messed with Valerie's hair.
“Hey! Come on, Jay,” Valerie huffed and fixed her hair. Getting away from him, she first went to her mother and greet her good morning with a kiss on the cheek, and then to her father who was waiting for her at the other side. “Hey, Dad, happy anniversary to you both.”
“Thank you, Val,” Bruce smiled. “We weren't expecting you here this morning, you said you and Terry had something last night and it ended really late.”
Valerie shrugged. “So what? It's not like we're not used to late nights and early mornings.”
Tim snorted. “You do know the double meaning of that, right, little sister?”
Valerie stuck her tongue out at him, and then continued. “Also, he promises that he'll be here for dinner tonight. He'll just take a ferry back from Metropolis after helping his mom and little brother settle there.”
“Tell him it's no rush,” said Bruce. “He can skip tonight if he needs to rest.”
Jason scoffed. “In other words, he doesn't want to have your boyfriend over during a family dinner.”
“That's not what he meant,” Vivian told them. “Besides, Terry's family now too with him taking the cowl and everything.”
“And because he's Val's boyfriend,” Tim teased Bruce with the fact.
It came quite a shock to them when they found out about Valerie and Terry's relationship. They were good at hiding it — Bruce wouldn't admit it but they were — with them acting as if nothing was happening at all. They were doing business as usual in the Batcave, in missions on the field and when Val was behind the computer. Then at their downtime, Valerie had university and went to Yale while Terry went to Gotham University so there wasn't much time for them to see each other… or so the others thought.
As much as Valerie's brothers would claim they knew their sister pretty well, they tend to forget one thing about her. Valerie has inherited her mother's magic. She was homo magi, not homo sapien sapien. So it was easy for her to open a portal for Terry to head to her dorm or her to his after classes or after patrols. It's one of the reasons why she can go from Yale to Gotham easily too.
The revelation of this relationship even happened in the most unplanned and — in Maxine Gibson’s words — “the-last-thing-you-want-your-girlfriend's-vigilante-family-to-find-out-you're-dating” which was the both of them in the cave after Terry came back from a mission, and the two were in a heated make-out session with Val on the table they use for planning already stripping him of the suit and him reaching inside her pants, his fingers work at her sex. It was Damian who first saw them, and with him were his brothers who came to visit Valerie to celebrate her graduating from Gotham University a year early. Tim, Dick, Jason, and Damian were speechless when they saw the two young adults fixing their clothes. What made it more awkward was the sight of Terry pulling his hands out of their sister's pants.
That struck a nerve at Damian.
And just as they were about to finish getting dressed, Bruce came to the cave with Vivian and Cassandra holding presents, and Stephanie, Barbara, and Duke with the cake for her.
“I see,” Vivian was the first to speak.
“Dad, please calm down — your heart monitor is skyrocketing right now, and I really don't want this to be the cause of death,” Valerie was about to go to ehr father and calm him down but Terry threw her her shirt, to remind her that she was half-naked.
Stephanie was the only one who laughed at that and said, “Bruce Wayne, Deceased. Cause of death: heart attack after finding his protege fingering his daughter.”
“Not the time,” Vivian told Stephanie.
Dick, who finally broke from the trance, came back and said, “Do we need to go through the bat-birds and the bat-bees, kiddo?”
Terry was sure to hear Valerie whispering: “We don't kill. We don't kill. We don't kill.”
After a moment, Bruce finally spoke: “Maybe we can have the celebration upstairs instead. You all head upstairs. McGinnis, stay.”
Valerie was about to protest but one look from her mother and she knew best than to argue with her father. She immediately ran to join Cassandra who opened her arms for her and said: “You're in trouble.”
“I know.”
In the end, Damian and Dick stayed with Bruce to make sure he doesn't have a heart attack while talking with Terry. After a while, they returned upstairs where everyone was waiting with the cake. Bruce glaring and muttering, Damian and Dick following after him, and Terry unable to look anyone in the eye.
It took a while for Terry to be in Bruce's good graces again, and most of the time in his patrols it was Bruce who was behind the computer than Valerie. It was awkward, to say the least, but they knew to put the mission first.
~*~
It was after their day at work that the anniversary dinner took place. While Vivian and Bruce were at their office – at Gotham University and Wayne Enterprise respectively – Valerie and the others were preparing the dinner at the manor. Valerie and Tim took a day off from Wayne Technologies to help with the dinner (actually, for here it was Val and Jason) and preparing for the celebration. In fact they started the anniversary celebration with the bed in breakfast that Valerie prepared for them.
Valerie and Dick have been preparing for the anniversary celebration for weeks now, since it appeared on their calendars. The two started their preparation in the group chat where they told everyone that Vivian and Bruce didn't want to have a private thing, which was what they have been doing since they married; now, with old age, they wanted to have everyone there to celebrate. They made everyone clear their schedules for the day and gave the assignments.
Jason and Duke were in charge of preparing the food.
Tim and Stephanie for the video Valerie wanted to prepare for her parents.
Cassandra was bringing some gifts from her travels.
Dick and Barbara will bring their kids and help Bruce and Vivian on their day.
Damian couldn't help with the preparations with him in the hospital, but he'll be there for the celebration.
Terry, too, since he was still in Metropolis helping his mother and brother with the move.
And Valerie. Valerie was going to be on top of everything, wanting everything to be perfect. And to do that, she'll be getting everything together so her parents can see everyone. It has been a while since they saw the entire family in the manor. From Dick and Barbara and their children, Tim and Bernard with their adopted kid, Jason, Cassandra, Damian with Raven, Stephanie, and Duke. Then there was Valerie – as always – with Terry who just arrived from the port.
Bruce was the first to finish things in the office then, he, Dick, and John Grayson – Dick's son – drove to Gotham University to pick up Vivian who was still in class. Though she was already the Dean of Gotham University’s College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences and Philosophy she still takes a couple of classes. Her passion is teaching after all, and – if she could – she would teach until the very end.
Entering Gotham University, the three of them parked the car at Vivian's parking space, and were greeted by the staff who recognized Bruce and Dick immediately.
One of Vivian's colleagues greeted Dick as he remembered him young and a tornado of energy whenever he visited GU or whenever Vivian would bring him along.
“Your Dad,” Vivian's colleague said to John Grayson, “Was this little kid who would run around the grounds. Vivian would always bring him whenever she can and just lets him explore the place. He's a good kid — causes trouble — but a good kid.”
John would only laugh.
After asking where Vivian was, they went straight to the classroom she was teaching at. Tenured in Gotham University, and way past retirement age, Professor Vivian Pryor-Wayne can still hold a classroom’s attention and keep her students on their toes as she teaches. Whenever he could, Bruce would head to Gotham University and sit at the back so he could listen to her lectures. His favorite past-time, Valerie would joke and he would agree. Since the first time they met and until now he loved watching Vivian work. He loves watching her do her research for her thesis and books, he loves reading her works, and, most of all, he loves listening to her lectures.
“Hey Dad, do you think Grandma can help me with my history homework?” John whispered to his father.
Dick laughed. “Why don't you ask her about it later?”
Bruce smiled. No doubt about it, Vivian would help. There was no kid she turned away whenever they asked her help with school — as long as she could really help them with it.
“We still have a couple of minutes before the bell,” Vivian checked her watch. “And seeing that my son and my grandson, and my husband are now at the back of the classroom, means we're about to head out,” she gestured to Bruce and the others at the back, making her students laugh. “So, I’ll be ending my lecture here and we'll resume tomorrow. And please, by Friday, do not forget about the paper on the assigned readings for you all. You can find those resources in the library, and the format. Please, the format. This is your training to get started on that routine.”
“Sure thing, Professor Pryor,” her students said as they got up, started packing their things to leave. One by one they said their goodbyes to her and her family as they stepped out of the classroom.
Only when the room was empty did Bruce, Dick, and John went down to greet her. John was the first, after his father told him to greet his grandmother, and gave her a hug.
“I missed you, kiddo!” Vivian hugged him tight. “How's school? Bludhaven?”
John shrugged and said, “All good. Bludhaven? Same but did you hear? Crime Rates for this month decreased, so that's something, right?”
“It's a win,” Dick shrugged.
“I’m glad,” Vivian kissed John on the forehead. “I'm glad that you're here and you're safe there.” Turning to Dick, Vivian welcomed his hug as well and asked how he was and the Titans.
“All good. The Titans too. Nothing we can't handle. Surprisingly, there haven't been any intergalactical threats so it's been quiet, but we're keeping watch. Quiet doesn't always mean it's good.”
It was Bruce who told him that.
“Dick, why don't you take John to the cafeteria,” Bruce spoke.
Dick, after years of being a spectator of Bruce and Vivian's relationship, knew exactly why Bruce asked him that. Sighing, he grabbed his son by the back of his shirt and said to him, “Let's go. I wanna see if they're still serving the same thing back when I was young. You know, contrary to the things you hear about cafeterias, pizza here is actually good because the one behind the kitchen is actually Italian and knows how to cook food.”
John scoffed. “I wish that's the case at my school. I swear, I think something moved in my salad.”
When the father and son were gone, Bruce turned and kissed her as a greeting.
“Was that really necessary?” Vivian giggled. “John's old enough to see people kiss.”
“I know,” Bruce, despite his old age, still had his strength and he made sure he does so he could carry his wife in his arms or lift her off the ground and sit on the table. “Do you remember the times we would stay here after your classes?”
“I do, and often times it would risk me getting fired, Bruce… is it because it's our anniversary that you're revisiting the past?”
“It's seeing you here, watching you teach. It reminded me of the times we would hang out here in GU. The times I would slip in your class just to wait for it to end and we would have lunch here or we head out together.” He placed his can at the side so he could cage his wife on the desk.
Vivian smiled. “Remember the pool?”
Bruce's smile grew at the memory of the first time he skinny dipped with her and when they were caught at foreplay there by one of her colleagues too. “I think of that every time we go swimming.”
“Really?”
“How can't I?” Bruce leaned in to kiss her. “There are days when I wish we could go back to those times. When we were young and full of life, where I can still carry you without worrying about my knees or my back. And we can go for hours having sex.”
“Is this you telling me you want to have sex tonight, Wayne?” Vivian teased him. “Because that can be arranged.”
“I know, and I welcome it too…”
“Do you regret any of it? The life we had?”
Bruce shook his head. “Never. Every moment we spent for the past decades has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. You?”
“Not once,” Vivian whispered and kissed him again. “Let's go before someone is scarred seeing two old people making out in the classroom.”
Getting out of his cage, Vivian went to grab her things and slung her bag over her shoulder before taking her husband's arm so they can climb the steps of the amphitheater-style classroom.
“Wann look for another favorite classroom?” Bruce muttered.
“Don't worry, it won't be long until you don't have to climb these steps, old man.”
~*~
Terry arrived just before dinner started. He was welcomed in by Cassandra who greeted him with an embrace – actions were her way of communicating, he learned after years of working with her — and then by Valerie who raced to him before any of her brothers or Stephanie could. He had two gifts for the couple of the hour, and before he could set them down to where the other gifts were, but Elainna Grayson – Dick and Barbara's adopted daughter – and her brother, John, took them from him and placed them with the pile.
“You look smell like the harbor,” said Damian, who went to greet him.
“I just came from the harbro,” Terry pointed out. Before Damian could make another comment, he turned to Valerie asking how he looked.
“You look fine,” Valerie said, fixing his shirt and jacket, and using magic to remove the fish smell on him. “Damian's just being Damian.”
“I know,” Terry sighed then kissed her as a greeting. “Where's Bruce and Viv?”
“Inside, being entertained by Madeline. Come on,” Valerie took his hand and led him inside, away from Damian's narrowed look at him. He still hasn't gotten to Damian’s good side after he and Valerie were caught in the cave.
Entering the sitting room, they were greeted by the sight of Bruce and Vivian talking to the youngest Grayson, Madeline Grayson, who was telling them about the things she learned at school, along with Tim and Bernard's adopted son, who was showing Vivian the new things he's been building for his science fair project.
“Terry!” Vivian was the first to notice him.
“Hey, Viv,” Terry went to greet her with a kiss on the cheek.
“How's your mother and brother settling in, Terry?” Vivian asked him.
“All good,” Terry shrugged. “They say Metropolis is the best place to start over.”
“Are you planning on moving there too?” Bruce asked.
“Mom's been telling me but I'm good here, besides Gotham needs Batman, right?”
“But if you do just tell us, okay?” Vivian said to him.
“Thanks, Professor, but I'm good here… I think I'll miss Gotham's doom and gloom.”
“You sure it's Gotham and not Penny?” Dick teased whilst he tossed his kid in the air and caught them easily.
Valerie laughed. “I know what I signed up for. It's the job first before the relationship.”
Bruce glanced at Vivian and took her hand. “On the contrary, it was your mother first then the job. It's one of the reasons how Riddler found out about Batman's identity then.”
“Say what?” Valerie raised a brow. “You didn't tell me that the Riddler knew who you were.”
“Nothing too serious,” Vivian shrugged. “And nothing a little threat can't handle. But yes, your father had a tell when he was Batman. He doesn't hesitate to throw himself at me whenever I need saving.”
“Don't let one moment define your life,” Bruce said, his smile never faltering. “While I have been Batman for most of my life, that is not the only thing that defines my life. I made a promise to always come back after missions with the League.”
“And I promise to always find him if he disappears,” Vivian shrugged.
Dick chuckled. “Even if it means time traveling to do it too… or jumping to other dimensions or battling the freaking devil.”
“That's something you haven't told me,” Terry said to Bruce.
“Nor me,” Valerie added.
“Nothing much to tell,” Damian placed a shawl on Vivian's shoulders. “Father was blasted by an Omegabeam by Darkseid that had him disappearing to other points in time, Mom found him in her history books and she and John Constantine went back in time to get him.”
“Constantine. You mean Zachary Zatarra's father?” Terry asked.
“Exactly.”
“You are not a good storyteller, big brother,” Valerie said to Damian.
“I'm a surgeon, I don't have time to tell stories, Val.”
“If everyone's here,” Jason appeared at the door, still wearing his apron, “Dinner's ready. Val, use your magic to get it to the table.”
Valerie snapped her fingers and from the kitchen the food floated to the table.
Getting up, Vivian asked for help from the nearest one of her children – Cassandra — and held her hand as they moved to the dinner table. There, she and Bruce were surprised by the wonderful setup made by their family. They even had them both sitting at the very center of the table – unlike the usual where Bruce is at the head of the table with Vivian to his right. Here, it was about them both. The two who started it all and built this family.
The team who shaped them to how they were now with Bruce giving them a home and a path for their lives, and Vivian giving them the warmth of a mother and the emotional stability they needed.
Sitting at their places, Vivian and Bruce watched as their family came together. My, how they have grown.
Jason made their favorite dishes for the night, some his recipe the others were Alfred's. He knew how Vivian and Bruce missed him and wanted to let them enjoy a part of the man's legacy. Alfred's legacy will forever be immortalized in Bludhaven with Dick's Alfred Pennyworth Fondation, and Haven, but to their little family Alfred was more than just that too. He was a grandfather, a father, a mentor, a friend, an ally, and a good cook too.
Neither of them deserved him, while they joked about that they knew it to be true as well.
After dinner, which was filled with laughter, Dick tapped his knife to his wine glass to get everyone's attention while they ate dessert.
Standing up, he held his glass in hand and looked at Vivian and Bruce. “Val asked me to give a couple of words for tonight, considering I was there from the very beginning — well, not the very beginning, but I was there when you two got back together after Bruce ghosted Vivian for a while. And while I can never say no to her, I also wanted to take this chance to say the things I've been wanting to say too but never could without being awkward.
“And I think on your forty-year anniversary, it's a good place to start. We weren't really the conventional family back then. When I came to the Manor, Bruce and Vivian were just fixing their relationship. Bruce had no parental instincts, Vivian was the girlfriend who would be in the manor for a couple times a week, and Alfred was the one guiding us through all this. It was the four of us back then, and while were not the conventional family — as the PTA would always say — we were one. To me.
“I remember everything we all started on. The traditions we made and continuously do as a family… but one of the things that stick to me while living here with you, with just the four of us then, was watching you both everyday. I remember, when I was a kid, whenever Bruce would pick me up from school, we'd drive straight to Gotham University and we'd go inside and just sit at the back of Vivian's class. The entire time we were there, waiting for her to finish a lecture, I would notice the look on his face, it's like admiration. It reminded me of the time when my own dad would look at my mom, and I thought then that I also want to look at someone like that too.
“Then it goes beyond that too. One of the things that I admire in your marriage is the fact you can count on each other. You both respect each other's codes and work, and the fact you will break the rules of time and space just to get back to each other. And I am so honored to have been there from the very beginning and witness this all. It was just the four of us back then, and now look at this. A full house and growing,” he winked at Valerie.
That had Vivian and Bruce turn to their daughter in question.
“Are you pregnant?!” Jason and Damian exclaimed.
“NO!” Valerie stood up, glaring at Dick who was laughing from across the table. “I am not pregnant!”
“Sorry, kiddo, I couldn't – the timing is just perfect!” Dick laughed.
Before Valerie could throw a batarang at him, Terry took it from her hand and had her sit down.
“I hate you,” Valerie told Dick.
“We all do,” Tim sighed and banged his forehead on the table, relieved that wasn't the case. Bernard and their son patted him on the back. “I'm fine.”
“You're banging your head on the table, Dad.”
“I am and I'm fine.”
“He'll recover,” said Bernard.
“Just move to the next speech!” Valerie exclaimed.
It was Jason who stood up. “I don't really like talking in these settings so, I’ll make it quick,” Jason began. “I'll just say this, we didn't really have the bet relationship but that day you caught me stealing the wheels of the Batmobile and brought me to this place was the best thing that has happened to me despite what I have been saying for the past decades. Because if Batman hadn't tied me up and brought me here, I wouldn't have met Vivian, and I wouldn't have had a mom. So, thank you, both of you.”
“There was never a time I regretted taking you in,” Bruce spoke, startling everyone. “And I can say the same for Vivian.”
When it was Tim’s turn, he took a breath and kept his speech short, mentioning the time he came to their lives to be Robin before he became their son. While that was the case with Batman, Vivian opened her heart to him as well and treated him as she would treat any of her adopted children.
Cassandra didn’t really give a speech, instead, she went around the table and brought Vivian and Bruce to an embrace and whispered thank you to them both.
Then Stephanie gave her little speech, which was shorter than the others, mostly thanking them for giving her a chance and a family which she never had with her own father. Duke’s speech too was short, mostly thanking them for taking him in and for Vivian for helping heal his parents from Joker’s gas and while he was back living with his family as soon as they were done with their rehabilitation, he can never forget the time he spent at Wayne Manor and being part of this family.
When it was Damian’s turn, the man sighed and got up. He thought for a while before starting, “I was a brat when I came here. I had no respect for Father, and I called Mom a harlot. And I hated her for no reason but because my own mother hated her. I was blindly following what Talia al Ghul taught me. Yet, even when I hurt her she still opened her heart to me and made it her mission to give me a normal childhood despite my role as Robin.
“It was here that I distinguished the difference between obsession and unconditional love. My mother’s love, I can say, is more of the obsession for Batman. But with Mom, I saw the unconditional love for the man who was Batman and Bruce Wayne. It took a while to understand it and see the difference but when I did, the little things that Father and Mom would do for each other meant so much to me, that seeing them fight because of my mother would get me nervous as a kid. I want what you both have – one day. To have that unconditional love for one person. So, thank you, for showing me that, and for never giving up on me.”
Vivian got up from her seat and went to embrace Damian. “I love you, sweetheart,” she whispered.
Damian smiled and kissed her head.
At the side, Tim and Dick whispered to Jason, teasingly, “Looks like you’re not the favorite anymore.”
“Shut it!” Jason sneered at them.
When it was Valerie’s turn, she got up and faced her parents, and started: “I wasn’t there for most of the adventures you both had with everyone. I was, as everyone said, the one who was never supposed to wear the mask. But with circumstances that didn’t happen, and it’s okay. Growing up, I would listen to your stories, and one of my favorite ones is the day you met because it summarizes everything that you both have and what Batman stands for. Batman is someone who cares for the people around him and his enemies. And for the witch in training, Mom, you showed then that to do good is a choice. You could have just left that night or left Dad to die in the hands of those cultists, but you broke your vow of never using magic again to save him. I’m lucky to have you both as my parents, and I know that Helena would have been too if she were here.”
Bruce took his daughter’s hand and kissed her knuckles. “Thank you, Val,” he kissed her cheek as soon as she sat back down. “I know I’ve said this a dozen times, but, my love,” he turned to Vivian and held her hand. “That night in Crime Alley, Bruce Wayne died alongside his parents and he remained there for a long time until I got to know you. Much like the power inside you, you were able to bring me back to life. With you, I know that I don’t need to have the masks on, I can be who I am — as Bruce Wayne and Batman.”
Vivian sighed and leaned in to kiss his lips. “We’ve had so many adventures together, some got us off world, others had us jumping through other dimensions, battling our other dimensional version of us and our families, battling owls, the dead, demons and angels, aliens, saving the world… but this, what we have now is the greatest adventure we ever had. Being here with you, starting a family with you is the greatest thing there is. And that’s why I want to make an announcement, while everyone’s here too. After this term, I’ll be retiring from academia.”
Everyone was in shock to hear the news, Damian and Tim being the most vocal about it, knowing how Vivian loved to teach.
“Ma, if this is because of the board telling you you’re too old –” Jason began.
“No, not even close,” Vivian laughed, her hands still holding Bruce’s. “It’s my decision. I should have retired alongside your father, but I couldn’t just let go. But now with all of you going on with your lives and Val and Terry with theirs, it’s time that I also take the next step in my life too.”
“Won’t you get bored?” Bruce asked her.
“With you, Wayne? Never,” Vivian kissed him again. “What about you? Will you get tired of seeing this old face every minute of every day?”
“Never,” he pressed his forehead on hers.
~*~
Music played in the sitting room. It was the song that Alfred would hum in the kitchen whenever he would cook their meals. Hearing it again brought nostalgia to everyone, and the time they played it in the room and Bruce asked Vivian to dance with him.
Despite their family there, Bruce and Vivian had their arms around each other as they danced to the music.
“Are you ready for the new chapter in our lives?” Bruce asked her.
“I am,” Vivian replied. “I love you, Wayne. From our first case to our last.”
Bruce smiled and pressed his forehead to hers. “I love you, Pryor. From our first kiss to our last.”
Looking up to him, Vivian got on her toes and kissed her husband. “Thank you,” she whispered.
“I should be thanking you… of all the different versions of me in the infinite worlds that I’ve met, I was the one who got to have you. The others were either too scared of what could be or unlucky to never meet you at all. This is a one in a million chance. Thank you, Vivian, for giving this broken man a chance.”
“Thank you, for wrapping your cape around me, Batman.”
Bruce let her rest her head on his shoulder as they continued to dance and said: “I’ll always wrap my cape around you if you need me to, Professor.”
The End

okay. HOLY FUCKING SHI-
Sun² (dark sun) looks like he's thriving LMAO 😭
Let me just say, THANK YOU MOON FOR BEING SO CURIOUS
I'm curious too, so this satisfied me so much
We got A LOT of information, and one VERY jaw dropping one
So.. sun² created a paradise for himself and others, most likely suns but not every sun. That- that honestly sounds so sweet 😭 I'm pretty sure by psychotic, sun² meant like- do things without thinking, go insane, kill for no reason ect ect.. since he doesn't like violence from what I've been able to gather. The violence he has probably committed, I am guessing was necessary because sun² thinks reasonably
But I wonder- do suns go there when they die? Like, heaven? There are already people there.. but are those people suns or random people??
His dragon is there to be a protector so, it's most likely dead suns I think..? To protect them? That'd be so sweet, I hope that's the case
Goliath died, oof 😭 I never cared much about him but that ONE THING he said to sun once;
"You..might be pathetic, but you're so much more than them."
The fact that EVEN goliath, someone so egotistical, sees sun's morals.. yet others cant and just see it as being cowardly
Our sun has been proven to be the most empathetic among all suns. He HAS done bad, but hasn't continued to do so, he tried his best to make it right. I love him sm I swear
But oh goodness. There is one MOST important jaw dropping lore we got out of sun².
Oh my fucking gosh.
Oh my.
The fact he chose this sun specifically.. BECAUSE HE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT HIMSELF.
We already knew he was like sun, but moon broke him. Just like how it usually goes in dimensions, here's the thing, though. Even if he did the same back to him, he could NEVER kill him.
Now there's more space to understand why he did it. He couldn't do it, he wanted to give other suns a chance.
Holy shit. Holy shit.
This is too shocking for me I'm sorry
I did not think that SUN² COULDN'T KILL HIS MOON
I guess that was a thing that truly connected all suns before sun's² whole thing
The fact our sun was the first, THE FIRST WHO WAS ABLE TO AND THAT IT WASN'T AN ACCIDENT.
Finally. FINALLY IT'S BEEN PROVEN HE'S SPECIAL IN SOME SORT OF WAY
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG
The "I hate him, but couldn't kill him" thing reminds me kinda of my mother and I, just with different context 😭 like- I hate her but can't hate her completely. I have mommy issues QwQ
I literally sometimes get so mad at how she treats me that I hope she dies.
Although- lets not get into that
The point I was trying to make is, even when you swear you hate someone close to you... ESPECIALLY YOUR OWN FLESH AND BLOOD, you can never completely hate them.
That is only what I've been able to gather from other things like that
ALSO ALSO ALSO aLsOoOoooO
Why did sun² sound so unsure.. at that one part.
"I suppose nexus could sure try, if he was still around. Mumbles if he was still around..."
WHY DID HE SOUND SO UNSURE.
I wouldn't be surprised if he said it like that because he's seen how many times villains come back in this dimension ☠️☠️
LITERALLY I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED
But if nexus comes back, SHIT.
A part of me believes he will. It's after Christmas, and the new tradition is that shit happens after Christmas because the October takeover tradition ended
AAAAAAAAAA
I'll be kinda happy about it, ONLY BECAUSE THE ANGSTTT
YAYAYYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYAAAAA
Another also and another woa!! >:D
"why does EVERYTHING have to be US"
"you think I have that answer? Heh, even with my intelligence.. I can never answer that one."
EVEN SUN² ACKNOWLEDGES IT
Because the show runners need to feed us, that's the answer <333
Their lives are something else 😭 they have to deal with something new everyday. They can never catch a break
That would be all. BUT HAHSHHDD I LAUGHED SO HARD SEEING SUN² FLY HELPPPPP
He had his "I was a fairy" moment 🎀 NDNDJSJMS
okay now it's all :3
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I got the tgcf official books last year around this time. I got the first four for Christmas and the last four for my birthday. My birthday’s at the start of February so it made sense to split it that way. For every single one of my birthdays, there has always been a theme. It’s just the tradition my mom set and I love it so we keep doing it. Because of the books and how much I love them, last year’s theme was Heaven Official’s Blessing.
My birthday last year was actually pretty rough bc of medical stuff, but I was really, really happy to have the books. When I first read the series before the official translation, I was going through a hard time and the series really helped me through it. It brought so much joy and happiness to my life, making me laugh and squeal in turn at all the antics and sweet moments. And after I finished it, remembering Xie Lian helped me get through even more. Remembering him and all he went through and how he’s still the same kind and caring person, how he keeps going and persevering, not letting things keep him down for too long, and staying true to himself when it most matters, really, really helped me.
I thought was just going to fly right through the eight books because of how much I love them, but turns out I’ve been dragging my feet and only just started the eighth about a week ago. Lmao. I guess since I already knew what happens, I wasn’t sitting on the edge of my seat to find out “what next.” I still remember the first time I read it and Xie Lian first arrived at the Gambler’s Den. That chapter left on a cliff hanger and I was barely containing my excitement at them meeting again and Xie Lian seeing Hua Cheng’s real appearance.
I love them so much.
Hua Cheng is probably one of my all time favorite characters. I love his personality. His charm, his playfulness, his teasing. His devotion is literally on the next level. Like dude. Wow. I bow to you #1 Simp King. I mean that with the upmost respect, really. It is impressive. That level of loyalty and trust and yearning is admirable. His perseverance and how he gained power? Wow. His sense of justice, his trickiness with his words… He’s awesome. I aspire to be as much of a badass gay simp boss as he is one day. He is GOALS. Especially his style. Like damn. He’s hot. I wanna look like that. But I would like to keep both my eyes, please.
…what was i talking about again? Uh… I don’t remember my point.
Anyway, I love hualian. I love tgcf. I’m so happy I have them😊
Oh, also, I don’t know when I got this, but I love it cause it reminds me of the wraith butterflies and subsequently Hua Cheng, Hualian, tgcf, and all those wonderful feelings. I don’t know if you can see it too well in the photo, but the white part on the wings sparkles and the transparent white fabric of the wings itself sparkles in the light too.

"Don't worry yourself, Lilli, I will," Leofric said, with another nod, "I will be fine and indeed get well soon. It takes a lot to hurt me, and I am never indisposed for long."
As much as he wasn't planning to reflect on that experience again. he also didn't plan to go spilling his weaknesses to Lilli, friend or not. The less people who knew about those, the better.
"Heh, I guess even the most confident and self sure of people can have their moments," Bill said, as he kept laughing a little bit, "And mine is apparently finding my best buddy trying to sneak out because he didn't want to hear what we might have been up to."
He chuckled at Lilli's statement.
"Exactly," Bill said.
"I believe I ought to. I have a shift at the hospital tonight and I shouldn't be keeping them waiting too long," Leofric said.
"You're working?" Bill said, "You're supposed to be..."
"Resting, I know, but the human staff don't really know what happened and I don't appear to be unwell," Leofric replied, "It's not hard work either way. So I will be going."
" Oh! I see... Uh, sounds really unpleasant... I uh... hope you get vell soon? "
It sounded so weird for her to say this, but she also meant it in a genuine way. Leofric also didn't seemed to tell what exactly had happened, so Lilli decided to not ask about it. Didn't matter anyway as long as he was fine and getting better.
The mage then takes away her hands from her face again, when she hears Bill laugh, and pushes back her glasses on her face, before she looks at the vampire with a raised brow.
" Yeah. You are. But it's actually very funny to see you like zhis for once, Bill~ Not so flirty, and confident now, eh~? "
Lilli teases the vampire, and nudged him again with her elbow, while smirking at the man.
" And yeah. Could have been worse indeed, heh... "
Like if Leofric walked in on them doing... something else than just flirting with each other, and kissing a bit. The woman then looks at the black shuck again.
" So you uh... You are going to leave, Leo? "

Broken Bonds-Part 16
Former(ish) Greg "Mouse" Gerwitz x Reader, BabyDaddy! Jay Halstead x Reader
You're getting everything in line to return to work and facing the fact that your feelings for Jay hasn't faded as you've healed. They've gotten stronger. Have you fallen for him while you still love Mouse?
Once Jay’s vacation time was up you found yourself yet again having to find a new normal. It was so weird not going to work because you’d literally worked until the day your water broke. You and him ended up deciding that you would start slowly getting Addy used to his place as well as yours, a couple nights a week. You had also taken to using his place for naps if you were closer to there than yours when that time hit if you were out and about. It was a way for her to get used to both cribs and environments, even though a part of you screamed “THIS IS A BAD IDEA” when he’d given you a key to his apartment and you’d given him a key to yours.
It was a precaution for Addy, that was all. You would never intrude on his privacy nor him yours. So maybe you’d dozed off in his bed a time or two after hitting the gym heavy? It wasn’t like he cared. Heck the time he’d come home to find you curled up in the middle of his bed he hadn’t even bothered waking you up, you ended up realizing he’d got off early about an hour later when you woke up and walked out into the living room to find him laid across the couch with Addy on his chest. That hadn’t made your heart flip in your chest at seeing him content at just laying with her after a work day, nor did your heart skip a beat when he noticed your presence and smiled before saying “Look baby girl, mommy’s up”
You were back with Dr Charles once a week just to try to regulate your emotions and it seemed to be helping. Postpartum was staying in check. You were eating like you were supposed to and keeping hydrated and working out again. You and Addy were bonded and you had a damn good support system, all in all you couldn’t have had your pregnancy go better. You placed a large amount of that on Jay. He’d been your cornerstone in everything, from the moment you placed those hospital papers in his hands.
He could’ve walked away. He could’ve fallen back and simply been there for doctors appointments and the delivery. He could’ve just been the position of Adeline’s father but no he’d been everything to you during the pregnancy. He was your protector, your friend, your shadow every step of the way. If you looked too hard at how you truly felt about him you were afraid your entire world may come crashing down on top of you because the fact was that the feelings you had for him were slowly becoming obvious that they were more than just him being Addy’s father.
You couldn’t look too hard at how your heart was functioning because how the hell were you supposed to trust an organ that thudded wildly in your chest when it heard Mouse’s voice only to have the same reaction when Jay would brush an innocent kiss against your temple? You knew what love was, knew how it felt, knew how to recognize it but what the hell was your body doing to you?
“Thanks for watching her for a couple hours, Stel. I just gotta get my recert” you were zeroing in fast on your six week mark so you were lining up appointments to get everything done. Today was the firing range to get recertified, at least this year you weren’t shooting next to Jay.You were a damn good shot but next to him? You always looked bad.
She smiled as she took Addy out of her carrier “Are you kidding me? I get to hang out with my best friend all day! Isn’t that right baby girl? You’re Aunt Stella’s best friend” Addy cooed at her lightly and you laughed “Guess she agrees. I’ve got to get my physical done, along with my six week check up in a couple days and she has to go the pediatrician”
Stella nodded then cut her eyes up at you “I love her with my entire heart but you’re getting an IUD aren’t you?” You laughed lightly “You bet your ass I am. I don’t want another incident happening any time soon” she grinned, holding Addy to her chest “Although if it was Jay’s at least we know he’s all in”
You narrowed your eyes at her and she shrugged “I’m just making an observation. How are things going anyways? Kelly isn’t here. Just us and I don’t think Addy is to the point of gossiping yet” You ran your hand over Addy’s hair and shook your head “I’ve gotta get going. I can’t go to my recert test with a headache and getting into that right now may cause that” she laughed and shook her head “Ok, I’ll let it go…for now”
You smiled “Thank you” and kissed her cheek “I love you” then kissed Addy’s forehead “And I love you” you glanced at the clock “I’ll be back by three” Stella nodded “Take your time. I have no plans”
Sometimes you hated working for Voight simply because so many people held a damn beef for the man that was one sided. They hated him and he’d have to make some phone calls just to find out who the hell they were. The guy doing the recert was one of those. He was busting your balls at every damn turn once he found out you were one of Hank’s detectives.
When you’d finished the tenth target with nearly perfect marks and he set up for more you felt like you may very well shoot him. “Sir, what exactly is the issue? You’ve let three men recert that got less than half the marks I have” you asked, not caring because he’d pushed you too far. He raised his eyebrows “Can’t finish princess?” and you felt your blood boil “Set them up”
While he prepped the targets you sent Jay a text Lukas Paulson, recert instructor. Busting my absolute balls. Paulson wasn’t done setting up targets when his phone started ringing. You watched, trying to bite back a smirk “Yes sir...yes sir..yes sir..”
He hung up and glared at you “Congratulations Detective Kidd. You’re recertified” he signed off on the tablet in front of him and emailed you a copy. You smiled “Thank you” just as you turned to walk out your phone chimed so you checked it as you got to your jeep Taken care of
You truly had just intended to vent or see if Voight knew him but Jay had done one better. He’d gotten either Voight or someone else to back him down. You glanced down when you got in your jeep. That same old polaroid still had its place along with the ultrasound Of Addy and one of her newborn photos. Yeah it was normal to have Mouse’s photo on your dash and your first reaction at something going on was to let Jay know. Totally normal reaction…yeah right. You shook your head and sent back Thank you before bucking up and pulling out onto the road.
Jay smiled when the text from you came in. According to Voight, Paulson was still sore that once upon a time his son had set his sights on Intelligence. He hadn’t liked it when he was shut down and he really hadn’t liked it when he learned there were three females in the unit. You getting him for a recert was a bad luck of the draw and Voight was more than happy to remind him that it wouldn’t take but a phone call to have his son down to a mall cop if he was lucky.
Why he’d thought messing with one of the unit was a good idea was beyond Jay. Why he thought messing with you in particular was just idiotic. Kevin tossed a piece of balled up paper at his head to get his attention “When am I getting my partner back man?” he looked up at him and held up the phone “recert was today, six week check up and physical is in three days. All goes like it should her first day back will be monday of next week”
“When is she gonna bring Addy by? I haven’t seen her in like a week?” Kim asked and he laughed “I don’t know. She doesn’t want to bring her here because she knows it would disrupt any work getting done” Hailey slid back from her desk to look over at him “Bet I could get her to bring Addy to see me” he narrowed his eyes “Stay away her Upton, I swear..”
Adam cracked up laughing “Aww Halstead’s jealous. It’s adorable” Jay shook his head “I am not jealous. Hailey just keeps trying to marry the mother of my child and it’s getting a little weird” Hailey laughed “So this means you won’t give me away or?” and grinned when he glared at her. He knew it was in good humor but he was honestly starting to get a little jealous. You weren’t his, not really but dammit you were his something.
When he looked at you, he felt something that he didn’t think could be explained away by the fact that you gave birth to his child. You were always his friend, his partner. Being there when you found out you were pregnant was as simple of a decision as breathing. Throughout the pregnancy there wasn’t a moment he didn’t find himself craving to be at your side. He’d never slept better than with you in his arms, feeling Addy kick. The innocent touches you’d allowed and chaste kisses to the temple or cheek drove his heart up the wall. Holding you in his arms while you brought the child the two of you made into the world? He didn’t have the words to describe how that felt. He just hoped Stella didn’t confront him again because when she asked before he hadn’t had a firm answer in his head but he did now and he wasn’t ready to look at it, ready to face it.
Another text came through and this one was a photo of Addy wearing a fireman onesie Help! Stella is tryin to convert our baby!! He felt a smile tug to his face and texted back Is this a bad time to mention Will got her pjs that look like scrubs? And you just sent back a face palm emoji.
Hailey popped up over his shoulder “Is that my wife texting? It’s gotta be for you to be smiling like that” he shook his head and nudged her off his shoulder “My track record with partners is just getting weird at this point” and looked back at his phone as another text came through, this one was from Stella and obvious that you hadn’t known she’d snapped the photo. You were turned sideways on her couch with your feet curled up under you and Addy on your chest. Your entire attention was on her and the smile on your face made his heart skip. He saved both the solo photo of Addy and the one of you and her to his phone.
He had about a dozen photos of you from different points in your pregnancy that he kept. Some you were at work, handling business as usual but others you were simply lounging around your apartment in a camisole and boxers that didn’t hide your baby belly one bit. He especially loved those because he knew for a fact only him and Stella got to see that. There was even a couple from the baby shower that Stella had snapped of you and him, citing that Addy needed to see how good of a relationship her parents had while she was “cooking”, his favorite one? You weren’t even looking at him in the photo, you were deep in conversation with Adam and Kevin but you were leaned back against him with your hands on your stomach and looked so at ease as if you trusted him to protect you from anything.
Voight walking to his office door broke Jay out of his thoughts to give his sergeant his attention “Listen up, We got a call to respond to a fire on the south side. Fifty one went in and found a body. Gear up, we roll in five”
When Stella told you about the fire fifty one responded to you texted Jay to check on the unit, knowing that case would get kicked their way. You managed to get back to your apartment and Addy unbundled before he texted back to let you know everyone was ok and to ask if he could stop by after work. You reminded him he had a key if you happened to already be asleep by the time he got off then set about the rest of your day.
____________________
You were sitting on the couch with Addy on your chest, reading your emails. There were a few from the district, mainly just checklists reminding you everything needed before you could come off maternity leave. There was one from the pediatrician reminding you of Addy’s appointment and one from Dr Asher’s office reminding you of your own. After you responded and confirmed everything you needed to, a new email came through and you froze with your thumb over the envelope when you saw Mouse’s name.
Addy started to squirm so you stood up and put her in her swing to give her time off of you. She’d worn herself out during tummy time so she wasn’t up for much but you were trying to keep her up long enough Jay could see her because he’d texted you saying he only had thirty minutes top and that was twenty minutes ago.
____________
You sat on the floor in front of her swing and clicked on the email. You were a lot of things but a coward wasn’t one of them. How’s the prettiest mom in Chicago? I spoke to Jay last week, he said you’re amazing with her. I’m not surprised. You sound happy when we talk, especially when I can hear her and I couldn’t ask for more than that. I hope I can meet her too when I get back in Chicago before heading to Georgia, if it’s ok with you and Jay. I just wanted to check in with you. I’ll try to call you next week or so. Love Always, Gerwitz
You read the message twice over, a smile slipping onto your face. Of course he could meet Addy while he was in town. Hell if he planned on seeing you and Jay it was unavoidable but the fact that he made a point of letting you know he wanted to meet her meant something to you. You emailed back Don’t know about the prettiest mom but I’ll take it. I’m doing good. I go back to work soon. Jay just swears I’m amazing because I can change her diaper and make a bottle at the same time. She makes me happy, so much has gone wrong but she is everything good. Of course you can meet her. Thank you for checking in. Look forward to talking to you. Love Always, Kidd
The moment you hit send you heard a knock at the door and checked the time. Hopefully that was Jay because Addy had just yawned again. You laid your phone on the couch then stood and walked across the room, pushing her carrier out of the way with your food before unlocking the door. Jay stood on the other side and honestly looked exhausted “That bad?” you asked and he wiped a hand down his face “Be glad you’re not back yet. Where’s our baby girl? Please tell me she’s not asleep yet?”
You stepped back to let him in and motioned towards her swing “Nope, she’s holding on to be able to see her daddy” he grinned proudly, the tiredness peeling back at hearing Addy was still awake “Of course she is” you shook your head and closed the door, watching as he walked over to her swing and hit the button to turn it off before getting her out of it.
He pulled her into his arms and the moment she was against his chest you saw the muscles in his shoulders loosen. “Hey sweetheart, I missed you” he whispered against her head before sitting down on the couch. You didn’t want to move from your spot, standing right by the door because the picture of father and daughter was too perfect to disturb but Jay raised his voice to normal speaking level to tell Addy “Your mommy needs to come sit down too, I want to check on both of my girls before I head home tonight”
He glanced over his shoulder at you and you smiled “Ok, I get the point” you pushed off from the door and walked around the other end of the couch to sit next to Jay, leaving a half of a cushion between the two of you, He leaned back with her then turned his eyes towards you “Now what did Paulson say to you?” you knew that look in his eyes. He wanted to have a little talk with him. You shook your head “Nothing that matters, he changed his tune quick after that phone call” he grinned “Probably so considering Voight told him if he screwed with anyone out of his unit again he’d make sure that son of his would have trouble finding work as a mall cop”
“Wow, you got our sergeant calling to threaten people for me? Maybe Dr Asher was right, every woman needs the father of her child to be like you” you laughed and he smiled “Just doing my job here sweetheart. Besides you know how Voight is, he’s the only one who can bust our asses” “That is true” you laughed and Jay resituated on the couch so he was turned towards you and could have Addy on his chest and offer you a place on his chest to lay as well.
You turned to lay against his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat under your ear. “Mouse wants to meet Addy” you refused to keep anything like that from him. He nodded, chin brushing your head “I know, he mentioned it last week” one of your hands came up to his chest and he simply cut his eyes at you when you pulled the chain of his pendant free to run it through your fingers “You do know most people fidget with their own jewelry as a nervous habit?”
You shrugged “I can’t lay on you and play with my ring unless you want me to sit up” “Continue playing with the chain” he whispered, Addy nuzzling into his chest as he spoke. “She still loves your voice” you pointed out and he grinned at you “You must like my voice well enough too, you asked me to keep talking to you while you were in labor”
You ducked your head slightly, why you were embarrassed at that considering was beyond you. “Your voice kind of has a soothing effect Jay” His grin softened and his hand ran up your back, rubbing gentle circles “Good”
What the hell was wrong with you? You were just emailing Mouse, telling him you loved him and was looking forward to seeing him and now you were cuddling with Jay. The change in mood must have shown because Jay’s face fell slightly before he nodded towards Addy “Let’s get her to her crib”
____________
Once Addy was laid in her crib and sleeping steadily you grabbed the baby monitor out of your room and walked back into the living room, even though her door was open you wanted to make sure you heard her.
Jay was leaning on the kitchen counter, drinking a bottle of water when you walked out. He sat the bottle down then held his hand out towards you so you walked closer to him, letting him pull you into a hug “You’re overthinking again” he guessed and you cut your eyes up at him “That’s rude to read minds Halstead”
He laughed lightly “I can’t read minds but you? You I can read. What happened?” you shook your head “Talking about Mouse” “While being comfortable with me?” he guessed and you nodded.
He sighed slightly, rubbing your lower back “It’s ok to be comfortable with me. I’m not gonna hurt you and if you decide to get back with him I’m not going to change how I act towards you. I will still be right here as much as you need me. You and Addy are my girls” you lowered your face to his shoulder, trying to ignore the feelings those words made flare to life in you. His girls. You liked being his girls. You were in love with Mouse but loved being Jay’s girl. You weren’t the woman you thought you were.
“Hey, talk to me here” he spoke softly and you laughed, leaning back to look up at him “You’re such an amazing man Jay. My god I know Erin had gone through hell but I have no clue how she walked away from you” his eyes widened but the smile he gave you was so soft you’d only previously seen it pointed at Addy “Well if she hadn’t walked away from me and Mouse hadn’t left you we wouldn’t have Adeline so I say any heartache was worth it”
His eyes flickered from yours down to your lips and you found your eyes doing the same. You remembered how his lips felt against you, his hands on your body teasing and light then heavier, nearly bruising from his strength but holding back just enough to make sure he didn’t hurt you. The way his mouth had mapped out every scar on your body, every birthmark he’d never seen and every inch that made you gasp and squirm under him.
He broke away first and cleared his throat “I um..I need to get home. I’ll come by before work?” you nodded a little too quickly, stepping out of his arms “Yeah, that’s fine” he smiled “Night Y/N” “Night Jay” he leaned down and pressed a kiss to your temple before heading to the door “I’ll text you when I get home” “Ok” you barely managed to get the words out but you did.
Once the door closed behind him you walked over to secure the locks and realized your hands were shaking. What the hell had just nearly happened?
“It’s been three days and he hasn’t mentioned it?” Stella asked and you shook your head. “Maybe I just imagined it? I mean I was in my head at the moment” you shrugged, looking over at Addy who was fast asleep in her bassinet. Stella had come over before her shift started and before you had to go to yours and Addy’s appointments.
She raised an eyebrow “I doubt that. Jay Halstead looks at you like you hung the freakin moon. Yeah most of that could be that you gave him his daughter but I think it’s more than that” You froze with your coffee mug halfway to your lips “What?” her eyes widened “Nothing. I said nothing.I’m only here as your big sister and little miss Adeline’s aunt”
“Stella Kidd-Severide. You tell me right now” you urged and she shrugged “I have seen men fall for you! Jay’s best friend included. It’s easy to see and I don’t think I’m imagining it. I’m not speaking on Jay’s feelings or lack thereof but I will say this, if you keep beating yourself up for this it’s apparent there’s something there. I don’t know what’s in your heart. I don’t care who you’re with as long as Addy is taken care of and you’re happy you could have a harem” “STELLA!” you laughed, looking to make sure you hadn’t woken up Addy.
She laughed then shrugged “I mean it. I don’t care, you’re my sister.I will defend you to anyone but I can’t protect you from beating yourself up. If you still love Mouse that’s ok. If you’ve fallen in love with Jay, that’s ok too. Falling back into that hole? That’s not ok” Hearing the words out loud, even her speaking them made your heart try to escape from your chest. A small smile slipped onto your face at her protective tone “You would really fight anyone for me wouldn’t you?” she laughed “Heck yeah and I got a husband who would be right there with me and I know Kevin Atwater is ready to ride when it comes to you”
She pulled you into a hug then checked her watch “Crap, we both gotta get a move on!” you looked at the time and grimaced “Shoot, we really do. At least all my appointments are in the same place” she nodded “That helps”
Your goal was to sneak into the twenty first, drop your all clear off with Trudy then sneak out. Easy, right? Yeah right. Cops were worse than old women when it came to keeping a secret.
You parked your jeep in front so intelligence would hopefully not spot it. You unhooked her carrier from the base and tucked your all clear paperwork in your hip pocket before heading up the stairs that led inside. You smiled at a patrolman that held the door for you “Thanks” he nodded “Nice to see Detective Kidd”
__________
You walked inside and the moment you crossed the threshold you heard Trudy “Is that the cutest baby in all of Chicago gracing my house?” you smiled as you walked up the stairs, holding a finger to your lips. You cut your eyes at the stairs “I’m trying to sneak here Trutru”
She nodded and motioned for you to come around her desk. You sat Addy’s carrier down and she looked at you for the ok to get her. You nodded and she quickly undid the safety restraints and had her out and in her arms “My god she gets prettier every time I see her!” you smiled, running your fingers down Addy’s back “Thank you, I feel like it’s just me and Jay being partial when we say that’ she shook her head “Nope, she is gorgeous”
You held up your all clear “I got a present! You get me back on monday!” Trudy smiled “Thank god. I’m sick of seeing those two pout” “Two?” you asked and she nodded “Atwater with no partner and Halstead with no you” you shook your head “Jay’s just jealous I had four extra weeks with more time with her”
She passed Addy to you then took the all clear and grabbed a file from her desk and flipped it open “Sign these three and you’re clear” you moved Addy to your left side and signed where she pointed.
She smiled “Happy to have my favorite detective back” “Thank you” You heard the gate blocking intelligence pop and your eyes popped right before you heard Kevin calling for Trudy “Crap”
“You know he’s gonna see you” she whispered and you sighed “Maybe he won’t snitch?” you followed her out around the corner and Kevin’s eyes got wide along with his smile “There’s my favorite girls” he came around the desk to hug you and ran a hand over Addy’s head.
You smiled up at him “And you’re not gonna tell Jay I was here right?” he looked from you to Trudy and you knew that look. That was Kevin’s “Why can’t I?” look. “C’mon Kev!” you begged and he shrugged “I know he’ll wanna see her and everyone else wants to see her”
You sighed “And if it interrupts the work day or a call comes in?” Trudy spoke up “They’ll roll out. Not that big of a deal” you looked between them before finally giving up. There was no way Jay wasn’t finding out you were here without telling him. “Kev, grab her carrier. Trudy buzz me up”
____________
“Go!” you heard Trudy tell Kevin who was at your side by the time the gate popped, holding Addy’s carrier and holding the gate open. You playfully glared at him “You’re my best friend and willing to snitch” he laughed “Lil mama I wouldn’t tell on you for big stuff but for this? She was almost born here. She deserves to see it”
You walked up the stairs and could hear everyone’s voices drifting down. When you made it to the top step it was nearly comical at their reaction because everyone froze mid sentence. Jay was sitting on the edge of Adam’s desk, Kim was sitting on Hailey’s and Voight was at the board. When they spotted you all five of them turned and smiles slipped onto their faces. “Adeline!” Kim and Hailey were the first up and to your side, even beating Jay.
Hailey asked to hold her so you let her. Her and Kim were absolutely gushing over her when Jay got to you “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” you cut your eyes at Kevin “I was going to drop something off and leave but someone planned to tell you” Jay looked at Kevin and grinned “My man”
Voight nodded to you “Kidd, do I get you back monday?” you nodded “Yes sir” he smiled “Good” then walked towards Hailey and Kim “Give me my granddaughter” Jay slipped an arm around your waist and whispered “Told ya it would go to his head” you laughed lightly, watching how Voight was such a different man when it came to babies “It’s kinda cute”
Jay shook his head and kissed your temple “How was her six week?” you smiled “Perfect marks all around” he nodded “And yours?” you groaned “My side is killing me” his eyes flickered over your body like he did after takedowns when he was clocking you for injuries “Why?” “I’ll tell ya later” you laughed.
__________
After about half an hour they had to roll out because a tip came in. Jay of course wanted to walk you to your jeep despite your protests so fully geared out he carried Addy out and buckled her into the base. You shook your head “She’s gonna have to deal with so many girls having crushes on her hot dad when she gets older”
He shot you a smirk “Easy there, someone may get the idea you like me a little” you laughed “Wouldn’t want anyone thinking that” he closed her door then looked at you “I gotta go. I’ll see you later” You nodded “Be careful” and leaned up to press a kiss to his cheek. He smiled because normally he was the one to kiss you somewhere. “I will” he promised before heading to meet up with Hailey at his truck. You watched him for a moment before climbing in your jeep to head home.
“You didn’t have to ride in with me” you told Jay for the third time. He’d shown up to your apartment originally because the plan was for the two of you to follow each other to daycare to drop Addy off to her first day together.
“I can ride with Hailey on calls and besides I’m going to want to go with you to pick her up to see how her first day went” he shrugged and you shook your head. You were worried too, not so much about the daycare but about being away from her. This was the longest you’d been without her just being at Jay’s for a night and this was the first time for you two leaving her with anyone outside of Stella.
He reached his hand across the console and you slipped yours into it “She’ll be fine sweetheart” he assured you and you smiled “Telling me or yourself that?” he shrugged one shoulder “Both?”
You and him both could watch the security feed at any time, Stella or Will could drop in and check on her. Chloe was there at the daycare. You were just worrying. Let a call come in and adrenaline hit and you’d be fine. Jay squeezed your hand gently “Worried you got rusty?”
You gasped playfully and snatched your hand away from his “We’ll see who’s rusty Halstead. Bet I could take your feet out from under you just fine” he raised an eyebrow “Bet you could” and you snapped your mouth shut. Yeah you walked into that one. “We gotta sign H.R. paperwork too” you reminded him.
Voight had a stack of H.R. paperwork you and Jay were required to fill out since you had a child together and worked in the same unit. You had to agree to never partner. You had to name legal guardians who custody would go to should something happen to the two of you and both of you were setting up accounts so if something happened any money would go into it for either the other to use for expenses or to keep for her.
“Yeah. Stella and Kelly are good choices” they were your pick for legal guardians and after considering it Jay had agreed. When you approached them Stella had cried, Kelly shook Jay’s hand and told him “I hope it never comes to it but know we’ll take care of her if it does”
You felt his eyes on you through two traffic lights so when the third was red you cut your eyes at him “It’s rude to stare” he grinned “I was thinking” you cut him off with a groan “Last time you said those words to me I ended up getting pregnant”
He laughed “Oh I remember…but no I was thinking how much things have changed. We’re parents talking about living wills and choosing guardians for our daughter…it’s insane” you nodded, turning the jeep into the parking lot where all of intelligence used “Especially when you remember there’s still so much more coming”
He knew what you meant because he nodded “Should be around the second week of August” you swallowed hard before parking next to Adam’s car and killing the engine. You cut your eyes at him “That’s still months away. I’m not worrying about that bridge until I get to it. The elephant is eaten best one bite at a time”
“You can tell you’ve gotten back in with Dr Charles” he teased with a small smile before you both climbed out the jeep to head towards the back entrance that led up. He bumped his shoulder against yours as you walked across the parking lot and added “Just remember when you get to that bridge I’m with you no matter what. If you need help with it, I’m there”
“I know Jay” you assured him with a smile before he grabbed the door and held it open for you so you ducked under his arm to step inside and he walked in after you.

I want to write an essay on how the Book of Bill expertly subverts the "villain with a tragic backstory/antisocial protagonist" narrative by portraying its main character as evil, trying really hard to look cool, and failing pathetically. The book is making fun of him, and that is actually kind of revolutionary, because most stories with evil, pathetic main characters tend to take themselves, and by extension, their protagonist, way too seriously, with way too much dignity, which leads to people misinterpreting them as heroes or idealize them in some way, and then replicating these harmful attitudes. They follow life coaches that will teach them how to be "alpha males."
Bill presents himself as one of these "life coaches," he will teach you the secrets of the universe, he will help you to game the system in your favor, to manipulate people to get what you want, he will free you from the shackles of society and reality itself-- but he is lying. The success rate of Bill's evil schemes is laughably small. He's a manipulator, to be sure, an incompetent one. His dimension rejected him, his friends don't actually like him, throughout the ages humans have found him insufferable, and to top it all off he ruins the relationship with the only being in the history of the universe he has ever truly felt understood by.
And instead of going "gee, maybe there *is* something wrong with me, after all" he doubles down on his harmful ideas. He doesn't have a problem, everyone else is the problem. Nobody gets his vision. They are all small-minded creatures of no value. His failures are always somebody else's fault. He didn't want to hurt anyone, he was forced to. It's not that bad, he's just being silly, he's having a laugh.
And we, as readers, we are horrified at all the bad things he does, but we also laugh. Not with him, but *at him.* He is being constantly ridiculed by himself, and the funniest part is that he doesn't even realize. He thinks he is absolutely acing this.
He isn't.
Eventually, it is revealed that Bill has no idea what he is talking about. That he has been defeated, rendered powerless, stuck forever in interdimensional therapy. The book tells us, "This is what happens to people like Bill if they don't change. They end up with nothing. No riches, no fame, no loved ones. They will be unhappy forever unless they realize there is something about them worth changing and decide to act on it."
This is in contrast to Stanford, someone who, just like Bill, was deeply hurt and rejected by society, struggled to feel understood, and took refuge in a narcissistic (bear with me-) view of the world. Diagnostic labels aside, Ford genuinely thinks he is better than everyone else for being smarter. He is a textbook Aspie Supremacist that swears by IQ tests because it's the only thing that has ever validated him. That's why he gets along with Bill, I think, they really *have* compatible mindsets. Ford really thought Rudolph should've killed the other reindeer. He constantly dismisses Fiddleford in what feels a very classist way (even if he grew up working class himself). Ford isn't manipulative and malicious in the same way Bill is, and I don't want anyone coming at me for saying Ford is evil. He isn't. He might be a bit of an ass, but he has a moral code, he knows that what Bill wants to do is A BAD THING and dedicates his life to trying to stop him. Stanford's biggest flaw is not appreciating the people around him more for their inherent value (not that he doesn't love them! he does!), but he learns, and he changes. He is more considerate of other people's needs and their perspectives.
And by the end, he is happy. He is free from Bill, he has his family, people who will support him unconditionally and will put up with his nonsense because they love him.
Stanford will never find someone who is as smart as him, who has been ostracized the same way he has. But that's okay. He has an inherent value as a person that has nothing to do with how smart he is in comparison to other people. He doesn't need other people's approval to be happy.
That is, I think, what the book wants you to take away. Don't be like Bill. Don't fall for the Alpha Male scam, or eugenics, some new age cult or multilevel marketing scheme, reject the ideas at the base. Talk to your family and friends, touch grass, find a group that shares your interests, but don't dwell endlessly on resentment, and don't follow people that tell you that the only way to be valuable is to be "superior" in some abstract metric, and that they can teach you how.
(As a kid, I almost fell down the alt-right pipeline-- and I am Mexican, transgender, and autistic. I fantasized about blowing up the school every day. I know what the fuck I am talking about when I tell you this.)
They are lying. You don't want to be like them.
You don't want to be like Bill.

My Top 10 Fave QL Characters of 2024 🤩
More end of the years lists from me, because clearly I have nothing to do for the rest of the week... I wish I was joking. Much like my pervious lists, my only rule for this is that at least some of the series needed to air this year. It can have started in 2023 or will be ending in 2025, as long as some—or all—of the series aired this year, then it's fair game.
1 ) God - Monster Next Door
What can I say about God that hasn't already been screamed from the rooftops by literally everyone who watched the series? He was aptly nicknamed, because this gentle giant was a gift from heaven. The greenest green flag, even when mad or upset, he was still as green as a damn emerald! The sweetest golden retriever character to have graced my screen this year, I will always love this character and this series, it's become a comfort watch for me, that's for sure.
2 ) Yai - The Sign
There aren't enough sweet himbos in QLs imo, typically whilst cute but dumb, they're also mean or bigoted or just not very likable. Yai broke all of those stereotypes, he was cutest himbo around, a perfect brother, friend, bro and husband. I knew I would adore him from the very first episode and I was not wrong, he did not disappoint. Every scene Yai was in wasn't enough, I wanted so much more of Yai (and his scary beautiful wife, Sand).
3 ) Joker - Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart
Joker and his emotional support idiots might have fumbled the ball at damn near every turn, but he was absolutely adorable whilst doing it. I think it's physically impossible for me to dislike a character War plays, so me adoring Joke was not a surprise to me. A master thief who really wasn't that great at not getting caught, a hopeless romantic, mama bear and perfect grandson-in-law? What more could I have asked for?... Possibly better fake tattoos, but we can't have it all lol.
4 ) Jeff - Pit Babe
I admit with no shame whatsoever that I found Jeff to be one of the most interesting characters on the show. His powers were the ones with the farthest reaching consequences and the most difficult to live with, he was tragic in all the ways I love a character to be tragic. I really wished I could've watched a version of the series from his pov, because I feel like I would’ve fast forwarded way less lol!
5 ) Tae Myungha - Love For Love's Sake
His depressive aura bewitched me body and soul, what can I say? The fact that he tried so hard to make everyone around him feel loved, wanted and important whilst he spent his entire life feeling none of that just broke my damn heart. He was the perfectly example of: the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it's like to feel absolutely worthless and they don't want anybody to feel like that.
6 ) JJ - This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans
Poor JJ has an idiot for a bestie and a douchebag (affection) for a love interest, this dude did not have an easy time of it lol. His forever exasperated resting bitch face and constant annoyance at literally everything that came out of both Plawan and Methas's mouths made me laugh so much, JJ had absolutely no time for any of their shit and yet he was constantly dealing with their shit. The poor guy needed a vacation away from the people in his life even though he loved them, which I totally understand lol!
7 ) Aylin - 23.5
While this wasn't my favourite series, Aylin was definitely one of my favourite characters. Her autistic coded self just spoke to me, I too dislike humans to a level that I would easily take the first alien spaceship off the planet lol. Aylin was so sweet and funny, I loved the way she spoke and her lil hats! I just wanted to squish her!
8 ) Fadel - The Heart Killers
Was I expecting to go into this series loving Fadel? No. Should I have? Absolutely. I have always loved the shrew characters when it came to adaptations of The Taming of the Shrew, which is the point of the character so ya know, duh! Lol. Any series with FirstKhao in it I always assume one of them will end up being my fave because well, it's them! But Fadel is the realest of the real when it comes to the slog of daily life, his routines, his annoyance with the general population, his need to remind himself that killing people whilst working in customer service is not worth the clean up nor the prison time. Sure, he's an assassin on the weekends, but hell, who isn't working two jobs in our current economy?
9 ) Rock - Cherry Magic TH
Rock was the perfect sunshine dope of a sidekick and I loved him for it, completely oblivious yet extremely caring at the same time. A man smitten with the idea of a woman who wants to eat fatty foods, will kidnap his Phi for a super secret mission no questions asked and respects a woman's right to say no without becoming an incel about it, he really was a joy to watch. It also helped that Sing played him, because Sing is an adorable ball of sunshine and I luff him.
10 ) Tan - We Are
The first person to get his man, and so easily. It made perfect sense why Fang fell for Tan, his hyperactive sunshine energy was like an instant 'smile' button. He was so genuine with his emotions and interests, he was a simp and made no apologies for it. He loved Fang so completely and unconditionally, he did whatever he needed to make sure that Fang felt safe and cared for. Tan really raised the bar when it came to clingy boyfriends that aren’t cringy, which is a hard thing to do.
#ql superlatives 2024#monster next door#the sign the series#jack and joker u steal my heart#pit babe the series#love for love's sake#this love doesn't have long beans#23.5 the series#the heart killers the series#cherry magic th#we are the series

resident not-so-evil
i have been inspired by the positivity challenge in the pedro pascal fandom to start up the same thing over here because we are in dire need of some good vibes. i know it's called 'resident evil' but we don't have to be evil all the time!
here's the 'challenge', if you will:
📌recommend as many of your own fics as you want -- the more the merrier!
📌fics must be about resident evil characters (any pairings, any genre, any length)
📌fics must have been posted in 2024
📌tell us anything you want about the fic(s) -- your inspiration, your favorite lines, your favorite scene, etc.
📌feel free to include any art, memes, and any other fandom content you've made this year
📌your recs must be your own fics, but do consider tagging some other writers so they can participate too!
📌provide links to your fics (tumblr or ao3 are both fine) so we can read them
📌if you participate (and participation is open to everyone!) tag me so i can see it!
*I will be creating a masterlist of everyone's recommendations so we can all see each other's things
here are my personal recs:
💗never penelope, always calypso (leon x reader) - my magnum opus, truly. i love angst (no happy ending) more than any other genre. this was inspired by the poem "after the threesome they both take you home" (and the odyssey, hence the title)
💗 take your fast car and keep on driving (fem! leon aka 'leah' x reader) - obviously, i'm a sucker for f/f as a lesbian, but i really liked writing the subtle sex as opposed to explicit sex. I also love to write scenes that include other RE characters besides the main pairing (especially chris and rebecca in this one)
💗but the fighter still remains (chreon, but more of a leon character study) - writing about dealing with homophobia and sexual assault, moreover, not knowing your own sexuality and thinking the way you feel during sex with someone you're not attracted to is normal, was healing for me, honestly. this fic half about leon, half about me.
💗 three's company too (reader x leon x chris) - there had to be at least one ddlg fic on here, okay? i think that as i've progressed as a writer, i've gotten pretty good at characterization. when i look back on this fic and see leon and chris' dynamic, i like the way i wrote it. this was originally titled differently but i had the three's company theme song stuck in my head when i finished the fic, so
💗 the ring leader (claire x reader x leon) - it's not cleon dw i believe in gay claire forever. i've barely written claire in fics so i thought it would be really hard to pin down her character, but the inspiration kinda hit me all at once and i like the result. to me, this is canon.
bonus content:
some memes: the normie memes vs the deep cuts (i laughed so hard while making the richard meme and nobody cared and i got so sad)
tagging some people here:
@vaaaaaiolet @wokelander @dollfacefantasy @rigorwhoring @lipglossanon @pupwashing @leonkennedybreedingkink

reaction dump 🩵🩵
i also just finished part 2 before reading this and every bit got me feral. i was literally pacing around the room trying to compose myself after reading it 😭 literally TOO EXCITED to read this
i already saw cheating in the warnings and im so scared for rafe now.. okay bye!!
—
Rafe takes what he wants, and he doesn’t go down with a fight. Hopefully, that runs in the family. — imagine cam and rafe fight each other. dude i would die if that happens
“C’mon... You’re my girl. I need you happy before I go out on the field or I'm not gonna be able to concentrate on shit.”
love it when they say ‘my girl’ my god, please fuck me already? thanks 😊😊
“Mmm… That’s my girl,”
my back just snapped like a glowstick
“You look good. Fuck, you look pretty, baby,” he hums.
fuck i’d fold so hard. like turn that tv off and take your clothes off.
—
“We don’t need to tell him, alright?” He asks. “Can you keep that between you and me? I just don’t wanna have him get in the way of this– you and I. Of course, you two still have each other, but I think what we have is different.” — WAITTT FUCK WHATT?? girlfriend i think my mattress might break because of how much i’ve been hitting it. im going feral over here..
—
“What, you’re not gonna let me watch,” JJ smiles and winks as he sees you on Rafe’s end. Rafe shoves him out of focus–the two bickering back and forth, getting their jabs in between laughs. “Goodnight, sweetheart,’ JJ calls to you.
“Yeah, you too, bitch,” Rafe smiles..
IM DYINNGGGGG i can’t anymore. stop this is the reason why i love you and your account so much 🤍
—
You look at Cam, he holds your gaze for a moment before burying his face in his hands. No.
fuck no what, i had to re-read this part ten times before i understood. WHATTTT your mind is genius.
I mean, he lied… He pretended to be Rafe–his own brother, the man who told him to stay away.
OH MY GODDDDDDD. STOPPPPP 🫠🫠
“Why did you stop, baby?” You ask Rafe, letting your eyes flick up to Cam’s as well, running on pure adrenaline. “Strip.”
oh shittttttt— uhm i think im not even able to think straight after reading this (in a good way obviously)
He rubs this thumb across the wetness, lifting it to his lips to suck it clean with his eyes on you. bend me over the bed and fuck me or something because WHATTT
“Damn, you’re evil for this, baby. Shit… Just wait for tomorrow night I fuckin’ swear-” — oh you are amazing for this, what do i do without you? no, what does tumblr do with without you 🥹
⤷ you don’t know how much i love you. i swear, you always feed my obsessions in all the right ways.
—
Your bottom lip pouts and trembles in overstimulation as fat tears roll down your hot cheeks. You look down at Cam, scratching your nails into his buzzed hair. His eyes rake up your body, landing on your lips, licking his own—no doubt thinking about his dick sliding in and out and your lips on him.
girl what are you doing to me?? i can’t do this. screaming and giggling in bed right now
“Fuck–Fuck, JJ. What the hell?” — for fucks sake are you kidding me 😔😔
What the fuck did I just do?
that’s what i’m wondering too!! i am baffled, shocked, are there any other synonyms? part 4 can’t come soon enough 😫 love me some drama
I LOVE YOU, i’m obsessed with this.
𝕊𝕙𝕒𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕘 ℙ𝕒𝕣𝕥 𝟛 – 𝕋𝕨𝕚𝕟 ℝ𝕒𝕗𝕖 𝔽𝕚𝕔
+18 𝓜𝓲𝓷𝓸𝓻 𝓓𝓝𝓘
Part 1 𝜗𝜚 Part 2
𝙲𝚞𝚛𝚝𝚊𝚒𝚗𝙱𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚜!𝚁𝚊𝚏𝚎 𝚡 𝙱𝚞𝚣𝚣𝙲𝚞𝚝!𝚁𝚊𝚏𝚎 𝚡 𝙶𝙵!𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚛
Warning: language, pet names, kissing, angst, accidental cheating, manipulation, cheating, skype sex, sex toys, mutual masterbation, mentions of a sex tape, swearing, degredation, dom!rafe, multiple orgasms, overstim., brief oral (fem. receiving), Cam takes the toy and starts using it on her, he also performs brief oral without verbal constant
📖 After meeting Rafe's (CurtainBangs!) twin brother Cam (BuzzCut!) for the first time, Rafe gives you a proposal you can't help but accept: sharing you. What Rafe didn't expect was his jealousy… And what you didn't expect was a text from Cam a week later wanting to see you again.
Reader’s POV:
The text from Cam sat there staring at you. Miss me? ‘Cause I need you princess.’ Those words carry the weight of everything you hadn’t even gotten to process yet. You pace the apartment, thinking about the next steps, your thoughts battling—looping on an endless cycle. Cam’s text wasn’t just a message… That was an invitation.
Rafe told you the night was supposed to mean nothing, but it meant an awful lot. It was supposed to be something fun, maybe a one-time thing… Something Rafe said he had done in the past, but something had changed when it came to you. There were feelings there far beyond anything he had felt before. Now you’re left standing in the aftermath a week later, feeling like the ground is shifting underneath you.
Cam is Rafe’s brother… His fucking twin. Someone he trusts–someone he brought into your life without hesitation. But to you, Cam wasn’t just Rafe’s brother anymore. That night created something new between you that you didn’t think you could handle…
Grabbing your phone, you sit on the couch, fingers hovering over the keyboard.
You: Okay.
The word stares back at you… Simple, but heavy. Sending this message without talking to Rafe first… what am I thinking? But, in a way, it wasn’t just you and Rafe anymore. Rafe had opened that door… And you weren’t ready to close it.
I can’t. You toss your phone down on the couch cushion beside you, heart banging in your chest. Walking to your room, you gather your things, desperately needing to get out of the house and clear your mind. Maybe time is exactly what I need; you think to yourself as you grab your keys and head toward the door.
You bite your lips, guilt creeping in as you come to terms with the fact that Cam is Rafe’s brother… If I don't say anything at all, he’d come regardless. Rafe takes what he wants, and he doesn’t go down with a fight. Hopefully, that runs in the family.
You look down at your phone, the message still sitting there unsent. Your stomach twists as you think about Rafe’s admittance last week in the bedroom. How blindsided would he be if he knew you had been thinking about this as much as you have–letting it affect you the way it is?
Again, you set your phone down and roll out the tension in your neck, weighing the pros and cons and analyzing the risk. As you tip your head back on the couch, you hear your phone buzz. You grab it off the couch cushion, half-expecting another text from Cam, until you see Unkown.
“Hey,” you say, trying to keep your voice steady, but you can hear the waver.
“Hey, princess,” Rafe replies, his voice warm and familiar, helping ease your tension. You can hear the commotion of the hotel lobby in the background, the faint hum of noise as the boys gear up to head out to the stadium. “What are you up to, baby?”
You glance at the TV ESPN College GameDay, already loaded. It should be a simple answer… But your mind is a mess, making it hard to wade through your thoughts.
“Baby?” He tries in a gentle voice. You there?”
“Mhmm…” You hum, pushing the utterance past your lips. “Just scrolling Tumblr, waiting for the game to start; relaxing.”
“Good,” he drawls, his voice warm and smooth. “Just wanted to make sure you got the game to load.”
You pause and close your eyes, feeling the weight of your messages from Cam pushing down on your chest. The words are already forming in your throat. “Rafe,” you blurt.
“Yo,” he laughs nervously. “Uhh… You good, baby?”
You clear your throat, feeling heat pool in your cheeks. “Yeah… I–I got a text from Cam.”
The silence on the other end of the phone is deafening. You listen closely, hearing the lobby noise come through a little louder. “Uh, what? What did he say, baby?” He finally asks, keeping his tone calm.
“He said he wants to see me,” you whisper, met with more silence from Rafe.
“Jesus Christ,” he grumbles. “He’s my brother… ‘Course he can’t stay away.” There’s a lightness to his tone as if he’s not at all surprised. The tension in your shoulders falls slightly at his response. Unsure of what his response would be—anger or jealousy—no part of you expected this. “You’re fine, princess. Just got in my head a little bit last weekend. It’s not a big deal, aight?”
“Okay…” You breathe, the nagging want to ask if it’s okay if he can come over replacing the previous discomfort. “Is it alright if he does?”
“Yeah, baby. I'll give him a quick call when we off.”
“You sure?” You ask uneasily.
“You gotta relax, baby. I wouldn’t have introduced the two of you if I was worried… I never worry about you.” You take a deep breath, pressing it out slowly, listening to Rafe’s light laugh on the other end. “Stop worryin’, pretty.”
“Okay,” you whisper.
“C’mon... You’re my girl. I need you happy before I go out on the field or I'm not gonna be able to concentrate on shit.”
“I’m your girl,” you answer sweetly. “I’m fine. Just fine baby. I love you.”
“I love you too,” Rafe adds.
“I’m excited to watch you play,” you smile.
“Mmm… That’s my girl,” he hums. “I’ll call you when I get back to the hotel tonight. Shouldn’t be too late, aight?”
“Sounds perfect,” you reply.
The phone clicks off, leaving you with your thoughts in the apartment's quiet. Rafe’s trust was absolute, making everything much more complicated when you knew you were about to step outside your relationship without him knowing—especially now, discovering he had been okay with it all along.
You take a deep breath, trying to steady the storm inside you. Looking at the screen, you try your best to relax, smiling as you see your boyfriend’s face pop up.
After a while, the game was on, and Rafe was playing like a star. The commenters praised Rafe, his name coming through the speakers repeatedly, leaving your thoughts ping-ponging between both boys—back and forth, back and forth–the grip on your phone getting tighter by the second.
Buzz.
Cam: Out front
Your eyes widen as you see the notification, making all of those thoughts come to a screeching halt.
Just like you had guessed, Cam didn’t wait for your response, taking the Cameron approach to the matter, leaving you relieved and nervous, stressed and elated, completely fuckin’ torn as you walked to the door. Your body trembles with adrenaline as you grab the handle.
Rafe said it was ‘okay.’ So why am I still so nervous? You feel a familiar rush as you look into his beautiful eyes–that same feeling bubbling just under the surface as it had been night one.
“Hey, baby,” Cam smiles, his voice deep and warm. “M’sorry for just coming. You can tell me to fuck off. I just–I couldn’t wait any longer.” You swallow thickly as he steps closer, waiting for a response.
“It’s fine,” you whisper. “I’m sorry I didn’t respond. I just didn’t–” Your words get swallowed in a deep, uneasy breath.
“You didn’t know if Rafe would be okay with it,” he answers for you. You look up at him, feeling overwhelmed.
“Yeah…”
“I didn’t think he’d agree either, but he came around,” he assures you as he wraps his arm around your waist. You draw a sharp little breath, and before you can speak, he captures your lips in a tender kiss.
He chuckles breathily against your lips as he feels you tremble in his arms.
“You’re good, alright? We got you.”
You swallow the lump in your throat, looking up at him, your nails scratching into his tight buzz cut. “Okay.”
“Atta girl,” he soothes as his lips travel along your cheeks and neck, pressing gentle kisses on top.
“I missed you,” you whisper. He lets out a delighted groan, squeezing you as he lifts you off your feet into a hug.
“Fuck… I missed you too, sweetheart. Haven't stopped thinkin’ about you.”
“Neither have I.” You bury yourself in his arms for a few more moments.
“… Relax,” teases again, and you melt in his arms a little more. You let out a laborious laugh before drawing a deeper breath than you have in days. “Now let’s watch this jackass play ball, huh?” Cam sets you down on the ground, walking into the living room. His fingers stay laced in yours, eyes tracing your body as he follows you. “You look good. Fuck, you look pretty, baby,” he hums.
You let out a little gasp and a laugh as he crashes down on the couch, pulling you on top of him as the second half starts. He wraps you up in his big arms, your head resting on his muscular chest.
You listen to his level breathing and the steady beating of his heart as the game goes on. His big, rough fingers trace your spine lazily during commercial breaks, making your entire body feel electric from that simple touch alone.
You watch proudly as your boyfriend stands with the other team captain for the post-game interview, grinning ear to ear. The interviewer kicks it back to the ESPN studio, leaving Cam with your full attention.
The corners of Cam’s lips curl into the prettiest smile, making your stomach flutter. “Princess…” He mumbles as you rest your chin resting on his chest.
“Mhmm,” you hum.
“I don’t think I could have stayed away even if Rafe said ‘no,’” he whispers, his voice just above a hush. You can tell those words hadn’t left his lips easily— like he had been thinking about them since he left. And, like you, he knew that feeling that was wrong, too.
“Me either,” you breathe, answering honestly.
“We don’t need to tell him, alright?” He asks. “Can you keep that between you and me? I just don’t wanna have him get in the way of this– you and I. Of course, you two still have each other, but I think what we have is different.”
“I think so, too,” you whisper.
The post-game show droned on, and then the highlights of the day’s games, all just background noise as the two of you fell into a steady rhythm together: talking, joking, and snuggling as the warmth of his body pressed against yours. You could feel the connection between the two of you growing stronger, a bond you hadn’t anticipated this early hitting you hard and fast–absolutely impossible to forget.
Buzz.
You watch as your phone trembles on the coffee table with a new message from Rafe, letting you know he is back at the hotel and waiting. “It’s Rafe,” you beam; Cam’s expression softens as he brushes some hair off your face.
“Sounds good, baby…”
You step off the couch and walk toward the bedroom. Pulling open the laptop, you look across the room, fixing your hair and outfit in the mirror as Skype loads.
“Babygirl,” you hear Rafe cheer. His loud voice breaks the speakers a little, crackling in the feedback with his post-win excitement. You swoon, looking at the pretty boy on the other side of the screen. “Get the fuck out, Maybank,” he scoffs.
“What, you’re not gonna let me watch,” JJ smiles and winks as he sees you on Rafe’s end. Rafe shoves him out of focus–the two bickering back and forth, getting their jabs in between laughs. “Goodnight, sweetheart,’ JJ calls to you.
“Yeah, you too, bitch,” Rafe smiles, flicking off the cornerback as he continues to accost Rafe ‘til the door shuts, the room falling silent.
“Hey, princess!” Rafe hums in a deeper tone, glowing with pride and excitement.
“Fuck, baby. That was a good game,” you smile as you crawl closer.
He gets easily distracted, seeing you in his jersey, making your excitement rise as well. “Look at you,” he praises as he leans in a little closer.
“You look good too, baby. Is that new?” You giggle and wink, the man already knowing where you're going as you eye up his new sweatshirt.
“Yeah. Yeah. It’s all yours, baby,” he chuckles and his plays with the strings a little before pulling off the hood. “N’thank you, sweetheart. We did alright.”
Alright?” You puff. “You were amazing.”
He laughs that laugh, running his fingers through his hair. “I wish I had you here to celebrate with me, pretty.” His tone softens as he looks at you; you can tell he means every word. You look over your computer, watching as Cam walks into the room and takes a seat atop the dresser. “Hate leavin’ you alone on a Saturday night,” your stomach falls, eyes fluttering at his words.
“Oh…” Your heart and mind start to race. “I wish I was there too.” Your voice breaks with adrenaline as you try to explain it away in your mind… Maybe he just means without him? Alone… without him?
“You should go out or somethin’... Get some air, have a little fun, get a drink for me. I’ll be home tomorrow, and we can celebrate then, okay?” You nod quickly, trying to push that uneasy feeling aside.
I mean, I got a call from him before the game… I talked to Rafe. Am I going fucking crazy?
“I’ll be fine,” you smile, feeling your lips tremble.
“Missed our pregame chat… And our post-game shower for sure,” he chuckles sleazily.
You look at Cam, he holds your gaze for a moment before burying his face in his hands. No.
“You doin’ okay, baby?” Rafe asks as he cocks his head slightly, looking back at you. “After last week n’all? Seems like you've had a lot on your mind.”
“Mhmm… m’fine,” you answer far too casually for how uneasy you look now.
“Good, baby. That’s good,” he smiles. “So, uhh... You still up for a little fun tonight, princess?”
Cam looks up to the ceiling, fighting his own internal battle. I mean, he lied… He pretended to be Rafe–his own brother, the man who told him to stay away. He throws his gaze back down to the floor, nodding to himself as he pulls himself to his feet, and right when he goes to step toward the door, you reach down, pulling Rafe’s jersey over your head, leaving you in nothing but a lace bra and panties, acting before you can even think it through.
His head turns toward you, and the man draws a deep breath as his eyes fall down your body, taking you in like the first time. Your eyes return to the computer screen, watching Rafe do the same. A deep moan comes through your speakers; his pretty blue eyes rolling back in his skull.
“Fuck, baby,” he sighs blissfully, tearing himself out of his shirt. You settle back down on the mattress, thighs spread wide as you look back at Rafe, watching out of the corner of your eye as Cam walks back, taking a more comfortable position on a chair as his darkened eyes lay set on you.
“Why did you stop, baby?” You ask Rafe, letting your eyes flick up to Cam’s as well, running on pure adrenaline. “Strip.”
Rafe chuckles darkly, and Cam smiles and bites his lip, catching the direction meant for both of them. Cam quickly pulls himself out of his shirt as well, making your mind swirl. You feel yourself growing wetter by the second, the chill of the wet lace clinging to your hot skin. And just like clockwork, the two boys pull down their pants, crashing back down onto the seat and the bed, their boxers tented out by their big cocks.
You bite your lip and smile as you reach behind your back, unclasping your bra and holding the lace to your chest as your hand shakes like a leaf, but you can’t stop. “You gonna be a tease, princess?” Rafe asks through a laugh. “M’not there to discipline you. You gonna test me, or are you gonna be a good girl?”
“Always a good girl for you, baby,” you whisper as you flick your bra to the floor.
“Fuck,” Rafe groans as he paws off his last bit of clothing, his long, thick clock hitting his tight abs with a smack as Cam quickly does the same. Goosebumps bloom across your skin and your body, riding an indescribable high. “Got that video, baby?” Rafe asks.
“Mhmm…” You prop up your phone on your computer, pushing play, listening to your soft giggle and Rafe's low moan swell through the phone’s tiny speaker.
“Do you have the video, baby?” You ask as your right-hand drifts between your thighs, rubbing your clit lightly through the fabric. You see a flicker of movement out of the top of your eyes as Cam licks his lips hungrily.
“‘Course I do, princess… I’ve been thinkin’ about it all fuckin’ day.”
Cam straightens up a little, his view obstructed by the laptop, desperately wanting to watch you play with your pussy. He stands up from his seat, his fat cock standing straight–his swollen head already leaking with precum sheened at the tip as he walks to the edge of the bed, taking a seat.
Your fingers work a little quicker, teasing both boys with what they can’t touch. Your head falls back, a soft moan leaving your lips with every even breath. You look down at Rafe, watching his big fist wrap around his thick cock, stroking slowly.
“Take off your panties, baby,” Rafe mumbles. You drag the wet material down your thighs, flicking them to Cam, making the beautiful boy take his bottom lip between his teeth as he runs the material through his big fingers. He rubs this thumb across the wetness, lifting it to his lips to suck it clean with his eyes on you.
“You look so pretty on camera, princess… Tell me why I’m takin’ my eyes off you again?” Rafe chuckles, his eyes dancing between you and the home movie on his phone, the man on Cloud 9.
“I love having your attention, Daddy,” you smile as you glide your fingers wet through your slick folds, “gets me wet,” you tease as you bring them back up to your clit hating yourself for how comfortable you feel—not hating yourself enough to quit.
“So fuckin’ dirty, princess. I love it,” he hums as he starts to stroke his dick a little faster, getting off at the sight of you, spitting on his cock for lube.
Your eyes shift slightly, biting back as you smile as Cam wraps the pretty lace around the base of his thick length, hissing at the contact as he wraps himself tight. You can feel yourself getting wetter by the second, the boys holding back their sounds just to hear more of it as they watch you close.
You lean out of the screen, reaching into the nightstand, pulling out a vibrator, showing it off for the camera. “Fuck, baby,” Rafe hums as he adjusts slightly, forgoing the video altogether as he catches a glimpse of your toy, “you’re killin’ me.” You look up at Cam, the desperation in his eyes, fighting back his praise and pleasured sounds with his life.
“Babygirl,” Rafe murmurs as his eyes rake over your naked body, the tip of the vibrator replacing your fingers on your sex. “Stop fuckin’ with me.” Chills fall down your spine as you hear Rafe’s deep, commanding voice.
“What do you want, Rafe?” You ask breathily as you push it a little deeper between your thighs, tracing your slit before showing it to the boys; the head drenched with your wetness.
“Shittt… Turn it on,” he mumbles as his breathing quickens, the gold chain on his chest catching the light.
“Yes, Daddy,” you turn it on, making a show of it as the length of it twirls and shakes. You can feel how drenched you are, your drooling hole leaking down your inner thigh. You gasp as the silicone tip meets your plush skin, tracing through the mess before lifting your eyes to Rafe.
“Push it in, pretty.” You gasp as the vibrations hit your clit, muscles jolting from the contact, that shock quickly turning into pleasure. Your thighs tremble as you ghost the tip over your puffy clit, pussy clenching around nothing. “Fuckin’ push it in,” Rafe moans. “Damn, you’re evil for this, baby. Shit… Just wait for tomorrow night I fuckin’ swear-”
“Shit!” You squeal; both boys’ moans cancel each other out as you stuff the toy inside your aching core. Your eyes shift between Rafe and Cam as they work their fists over their throbbing dicks.
“Play with that shit. C’mon, baby. C’mon,” Rafe pleads through a deep groan as he watches you close.
“So pretty, baby. Shit, you look so damn good,” Cam mumbles under his breath as he watches the toy fuck in and out of you, keeping your pace with your strokes.
You let out a hoarse cry as you find your g-spot, the little vibrating nub pressing against your clit perfectly. Your breathing starts to quicken with your heart, the knot in your stomach growing tighter and tighter. Your eyes clamp shut as you feel yourself about to near your peak.
“Open your eyes, baby. M’gonna cum… Fuck. I’m gonna cum for you,” Rafe hums. Your orgasm hits you fast, washing over you like a wave. You watch the screen as Rafe strokes a few more times before letting his thick cock go, pulsing as he cums in ropes landing hot on his abs as he pants like a dog.
Cam bites his lips, wrapping his fist around the delicate lace, pulling it down to his tip. His head falls back as he empties himself into the lace. His ab muscles clench as his heavy load dirties your panties, making an absolute mess of the fabric.
The three of you breathe heavily, coming down from your highs together. A broad smile spreads across Rafe’s lips as he tilts his head back, hitting the hotel headboard with a soft thud. “Mmm… Get on your back, baby,” Rafe hums. “You're cummin’ again.”
“Yeah?” You ask with a breathless laugh as you look between Rafe and the video playing on the phone, watching Rafe throw you to the mattress and plunge back in fast.
“Yeah, princess. Wanna hear you cum with yourself. Better hurry up, sweetheart. Sounds like you’re close,” he smiles smugly as you lay down on the bed, starting up the vibrator, your thighs, pussy still quaking from your first orgasm.
Your eyes widen as you look between your thighs, watching Cam take it off your hands before pushing it inside for you. You cry out, back arching off the mattress as he works it in at the perfect angle, the head of the vibration swirls against your g-spot, vibrator flicking at your clit.
“Fuck, you can take dick like a pornstar. Can't you princess?” Rafe praises—his cock still hard, as he shifts his focus between the old video and the pleasure on your face, the rest of your body cut off from the lens as Cam works the toy in and out.
He turns up the speed to the max, making you fight against him slightly, but he grabs your body, pinning you to the mattress.
“Are you gonna cum, princess?” Rafe drawls, and you nod rapidly. “Good fuckin’ girl. Give it to me.”
“Mhmm,” is all you can muster. “Fuck!” You whine as your damn breaks, pleasure coursing through your body as you flutter around the vibrator, cumming in tandem with the video of yourself.
Cam pulls out the vibrator, making you gasp. He flattens his tongue, licking a line up your silk, causing you to whimper pathetically as he works you through your high. Cam curls his arms, forcing you closer as he locks onto your puffy clit, sucking and flicking his tongue; feeling yourself close to a third release but you trap him between your thighs, throwing him daggers with your gaze.
“Fuck–Fuck, JJ. What the hell?” Rafe calls as you hear the door push open on Rafe’s end, making all three of you jump. Your hand clamps over your lips, as you watch your boyfriend, do his best to cover himself up while his teammate cackles. “Knock on the goddamn door,” he barks.
“Forgot my wallet,” JJ says, his voice on the edge of laughter.
Rafe covers himself more, putting his big hand up to the camera as JJ pops his head in, grabbing his wallet off the nightstand. “I’ll fuckin’ kill you,” Rafe hisses, only half-kidding, but you’re already covered up with a blanket anyway. His eyes track JJ as he walks away, heading out the door.
“Goddamn…” Rafe mutters as he pulls back the dirtied duvet, eyeing the mess. “How many more guys am I gonna have to fight off you today?” He huffs.
Cam looks over his shoulder slightly as he pulls back on his sweats. You can see it in his eyes, Cam hit with the bitter taste of guilt. Rafe smiles at you lovingly, utterly oblivious to the war in your mind and his brother in the room.
“Rafe-”
“I’ll see you tomorrow, princess. I love you,” he cuts you off before you go to speak, seconds away from spilling your guts. Maybe it’s for the best…
“I love you too,” you whisper, hearing the slight crack in your voice.
You grab the top of your laptop, pulling it shut, your heart banging in your ears as the weight of the situation starts to pile on you. You felt a rush of panic flood through you—not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
What the fuck did I just do?
