It’s insane to me that I tested positive for one tree and like two weeds that I’m allergic to but every time I step outside right now I have an instant pressure headache and feel like shit.
My beloved is even worse, they had like three or four each of trees and grass pollens they’re positive for. It’s awful. Pollen is off the fucking charts, my car in entombed in the slutty tree dust every day and there’s no end in sight.

For real tho health freaks who scream about how sugar and salt will kill us all and try to push for restrictions on things like candy and chips for SNAP recipients or politicians who try from time to time to replace food stamps all together and give out Government Approved Staples like bread and peanut butter and Government Cheese are gonna kill a whole lotta sick and disabled people like
Diabetics
POTS sufferers
Hypotensives
People with peanut allergies
People with celiac disease or wheat allergies
The lactose intolerant
People who can't eat solid food
People who are undernourished for any reason and need all the calories they can pack on
So-called "picky eaters" who can't tolerate certain tastes and textures without getting violently ill
A myriad of other human conditions that cannot be neatly tallied into categories because the human body and human experience is vast and infinitely variable
But I don't think ableds really care about us and our health like they like to claim so they can harass us about it, do you?

Well, it's been a hell of a couple of weeks, and one of many things that happened is that I ended up coming home from Urgent Care looking rather like fruit being packed up for long distance shipping.
I got pretty scraped up when I fell while hiking nearly a month ago. Then I got significantly better... and then I got a whole lot worse.
If you would like to avoid some truly disgusting and painful wounds, you should know that you are likely to develop an allergy to Neosporin if you use it for multiple weeks (and probably the same goes for other brands of over-the-counter antibiotic ointments, I'm guessing).

Excerpt:
In late May, Disney's lawyers filed a motion asking the circuit court to order Piccolo to arbitrate the case — with them and a neutral third party in private, as opposed to publicly in court — and to pause the legal proceedings in the meantime. Arbitration is generally considered a more efficient and cost-effective method of resolving disputes than litigation, and Disney said explicitly in court documents that the "main benefit of arbitration is avoiding heavy litigation costs." The reason it says Piccolo must be compelled to arbitrate? A clause in the terms and conditions he signed off on when he created a Disney+ account for a monthlong trial in 2019. Those terms of use — which users must acknowledge to create an account — state that "any dispute between You and Us, Except for Small Claims, is subject to a class action waiver and must be resolved by individual binding arbitration." Disney says Piccolo agreed to similar language again when purchasing park tickets online in September 2023. Whether he actually read the fine print at any point, it adds, is "immaterial." "Piccolo ignores that he previously created a Disney account and agreed to arbitrate 'all disputes' against 'The Walt Disney Company or its affiliates' arising 'in contract, tort, warranty, statute, regulation, or other legal or equitable basis,'" the motion reads, arguing the language is broad enough to cover Piccolo's claims.
You kidding me??? What piddling, facetious, grasping bullshit!
In early August, Piccolo's lawyers filed a response slamming Disney's rationale as "preposterous," bordering "on the surreal" and "fatally flawed for numerous independent reasons." "There is simply no reading of the Disney+ Subscriber Agreement which would support the notion that Mr. Piccolo agreed to arbitrate claims arising from injuries sustained by his wife at a restaurant located on premises owned by a Disney theme park or resort which ultimately led to her death," they wrote in the 123-page filing. They confirmed that he did create a Disney+ account on his PlayStation in 2019, but he believes he canceled the subscription during the trial because he hasn't found any charges associated with it after that point. Piccolo's lawyers accused the company of trying to deprive Tangsuan's estate of its right to a jury trial. "The notion that terms agreed to by a consumer when creating a Disney+ free trial account would forever bar that consumer's right to a jury trial in any dispute with any Disney affiliate or subsidiary, is so outrageously unreasonable and unfair as to shock the judicial conscience, and this Court should not enforce such an agreement," they wrote. Piccolo's lawyers also took issue with the process itself, saying Disney didn't raise its alleged right to arbitration early enough in the proceedings. They further note that Piccolo didn't bring the lawsuit as an individual, but on behalf of Tangsuan's estate, which did not sign off on any such terms. There was no such estate at the time, since Tangsuan was still alive.

I'm proud to say the diet plan for my cats is working!
Jimi went from 6,8 kg -> 6,5 kg
Bomboś went from 6,3 kg -> 6,15 kg
All in a month! (I know it doesn't seem like much but I think it's a reasonable pace. Bomboś already thinks I'm a terrible mother for withholding food anyways.)

We need OIT for peanut allergies here in Canada right away! It will literally save millions of lives unlike me, constantly dying from peanut exposure in the air.
Plus nobody told me that there are peanuts in toothpaste! Now I’m in the hospital having to pay a 200$ bill from all of the other times.
Might as well kms at this point.

I am preparing an activity for today related to textile history and I wanted to check the good things cotton has as opposed to other fabrics like linen, hemp or wool in case someone asks. And while even wikipedia articles will list all the wonders of these three fabrics, I struggle to find the advantages of cotton.
It's not that cotton is not a good material, but from this research, what cotton has that others don't is good marketing (and well, 19th century slavery as a great support to make all the other textile industries go down).
They rarely list its flexibility, which would be the main difference with linen, for instance, and many of the good things cotton has, linen and hemp also have (but often better). And cotton is not easier to grow, it's quite delicate, only grows in certain weather and requires quite a lot of pesticides (which hemp, for instance, does not, given that it's basically marihuana).
Generally, my conclusion is that these 4 materials are very similar in a lot of ways, with wool being the most distinct of them all (but then, it comes from an animal and not a plant). It's likely there are a lot of interests into maintaining cotton as the main one for some reason that is not "it's hypoalergenic" (so is wool, who knew).

Sometimes it's annoying how unseriously people take my allergies when they find out I won't die. Like, yeah, I won't die, but that doesn't change the fact that I am allergic, my body doesn't like this, I will suffer.
I don't mind being the taste tester for people who do have deadly allergic reactions to the same allergies I have, don't get me wrong. Because I'd rather have one of my allergic reactions than have them nearly die. Doing that doesn't bother me.
It bothers me when people don't take into account the fact that I have allergies. I'm not asking for accommodation in places I really shouldn't be eating, like I won't go into an Asian restaurant with a soy allergy and demand they make something I can eat. Because I'm not an asshole and the world doesn't revolve around me, I can save everyone the time and energy, if I just eat somewhere else.
But allergies are serious whether you'd die from them or not, the fact that I won't die from mine doesn't mean that I don't avoid my allergies like the plague. My reactions are real, and they're painful.
If it's a minor reaction, I suffer for a few hours with stomach cramps and nausea, but if it's big enough, I could be out of commission for several days because of how sick I get. Hell, even the smell of my allergies can make me nauseous and give me headaches.
It just kind of bugs me when people that have known me for a long time, and this is pointedly at my parents who have seen my intense reactions firsthand, act like my reactions to having my allergies being cooked around me is overreacting. I'm not overreacting when I get headaches and nausea from someone microwaving leftovers that have copious amounts of nuts or soy, I'm not overreacting when I refuse to eat around them while they eat their dinners with a lot of soy or nuts because I get headaches and nausea, and I'm not overreacting when I'm upset that I have to constantly remind them of what I can and can't eat.
